The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

Till this day it was absolutely baffling to Emerald when people complimented her. It wasn't that she didn't understand what compliments meant it's just she felt like she really didn't deserve some of the ones that were thrown at her. Emerald was, for the most part, modest about herself and it was a bit odd for here some of these compliments.
Once Colt started instructing her about the "basics of cars" the werewolf gave him a look that could only be described as "No really?" It was an honest to goodness dumbfounded look, mainly because she had mentioned before how similar this was to the old car she had and how she had changed the fluids herself not to long ago. Yes, she was a motorcycle person, but she knew enough about cars to know the freaking basics.
"Can we skip the basics I already know and find out how bad the damage is in this damn thing?" The wolf woman growled at him, her shoulders squaring off a little, teeth gritted together in irritation. Wether or not he was trying to be insulting didn't matter at this point, she just felt like this guy wasn't taking her seriously.
"It probably happened while I was hunting, I didn't notice it this morning and I changed my fluids myself not too long ago." Emerald said, tail lashing back and forth. "Probably the damn kids did it as some sort of prank or something."
There were some kids that ran around the forest that tended to prank the visitors of the park. The problem was that these pranks escalated recently since they started taking shop at their school and they had been taking apart people's cars. No one had done anything about it yet, but if they were the cause of this whole mess, Emerald would string them up by their shoelaces on the powerlines.
The room itself seemed to be a hell of a lot calmer now that the little one wasn't seething. While Emerald was happy about this, she couldn't help but wonder what that whole thing was about. With a small shrug of her shoulders, Emerald made her way over to the fridge and grabbed an apple from it, chomping down on it with long teeth. Sure that tupperwares' contents were long gone, she was still sorta hungry and she figured she might as well eat some non meat to balance out her meat intake.
"No worries," Emerald told them, considerably more relaxed than before. "So what are you two doing in the mansion anyways? You looking to get settled and all that because we have plenty of rooms."
These girls didn't seem all that bad, just a little uncomfortable like all newbies were. She was even uncomfortable when she first came tot he mansion, but that was for other reasons entirely.
As much as she hated to admit it, the wolf woman wouldn't mind greeting some of the new mutants to the mansion. If anyone knew how hard it was to get adjusted to people, she did and she was willing to help some of her fellow loners ease into the transition.
A slightly cocky grin crossed Emerald's face when he mentioned that he didn't want to compete with her. Of course he didn't! Who in their right mind would say "I want to compete in hunting against a creature that was literally built for it." that just seemed silly. Besides, after failing several times at hunting, she ended up learning how to do it very well, sure she had some hiccups here and there but that was all part of the fun.
The werewolf's eyes followed after Colt when he moved, eyes following him cautiously more than anything else. The she-wolf caught the scent of the jerky almost immediately and while it did smell good, she knew if she ate anything else at this point she would be overeating. Sure, she naturally ate a lot in order to keep herself energized and able to use her powers, but she could overeat and if she did it wasn't pretty.
“Sorry, I would if I could, but I'm pretty sure if I eat anymore I might explode. I already ate a few deer that I hunted on my own with my bear hands, but even the jerky you saw me tearing into before was pushing it,” Emerald explained. “Sides, wolves can't exactly run very fast when their stomach is so bloated it's hanging to the floor.”
The alpha female, while she did feel slightly better about being here still had her reservations. Even if she wasn't nearly bloated she would still be reluctant about eating it, just old survival instincts was all there was to say about that. The Werewolf made her way over to where Jacob was, standing in front of her car. She didn't say anything to the mater of him moving the car all by himself because she didn't feel like she needed to.
“It looks a lot like the old one, stuffs probably in the same exact place too. Might be a leak or something because I think I remember changing fluids on this thing not too long ago.” Emerald pondered, wondering if that was the problem with it.
She barely used her car and it was possible she didn't notice a leak like that when she drove out that morning, considering the overwhelming scents from the X-Garage, due to the other car and the fact that Ruby was almost constantly working in there.
Everything seemed to have simmered down and no one was on edge anymore. It looked that way on surface and Emerald really hoped that it was that way inwardly to. There was still a sense of unease within the group but she figured she wouldn't address it. With a deep inhale and exhale her muscles loosened and she felt her body relaxing.
"Don't worry about it, just tell me if there's something up alright? I'm better at reading body language than anything else, I am a wolf after all," Emerald explained picking up the very chewed up pieces of tupperware on the ground.
The wolf woman quickly disposed of the troublesome plastic and the lids. She really did a number on those things. The mansion would defietly have to replace the tupperware soon because this was her third plastic ravaging this week. TH wolf side was getting harder to fight.
"Also, Pretty? I wouldn't say so but thank ya. Do you guys want anything to eat? There is still some fairly fresh deer meet in there from my hunt yesterday." Emerald asked them, pointing over to the fridge.
So, the student disagreed with the teacher. This was not uncommon in teacher/student relationships, especially in the one that Emerald had with Rebecca. If there was anything Emerald encouraged her student to do was to always fight for her own beliefs. It was something that she herself had done and despite how morally wrong they seemed to be to others she did them anyways because that's how she was.
However, Rebecca's words seemed to be a lot harsher than what Emerald would expect from her normally polite student. Something that automatically put her on the offensive. It was just part of being a wolf, and the wolf woman squared off her shoulders with her tail sticking rigidly out, her lower jaw clenched. Her student was being stubborn, something she didn't exactly help with but for once Emerald knew she was right.
“Look kiddo, you can do whatever you want with your body, that's your deal,” Emerald told her student evenly, keeping her tone as calm as possible. “As long as you start fighting better than how you did today, I don't care what you do. Silly me for thinking of everything in wolf terms. How about this, if you are so okay with this casual sex thing, you fight me right me again and prove to me that you are better off. ”
It was a challenge that Emerald knew that she was ready for and as much as she would love to fight without any rules against her student she figured that would be better for another day. That and a fight against her at full strength would be far too difficult for Rebecca to deal with right now. If she was distracted by something simple as a break up, she would be a sitting duck to any blow that she would throw at her.
Emerald had never been a person who trusted just anybody and because of this, it always made her a little hard to get to know. Sure she could be friendly in an environment she was familiar with or something like that, but this was a completely new place for her. Not only that but she wasn't in the best of situations, this whole thing could easily change in a second. This wasn't the first time Emerald had found herself in a situation like this and while she had the potential of being viewed as overly paranoid because of this, she just couldn't help it.
She should probably attempt to be more friendly though, not everyone was out to get her, she knew that but it was one of those hard things to shake. The tried her best to give Colt a friendly smile to describe what she was doing in the forest at the time that all this.
“Well, I was out on a hunting trip with a couple of buddies of mine, catching deer and stuff,” Emerald replied. She scoffed a little at the next bit. “Course, they weren't able to catch the beasts bare handed or with their teeth like I could so they were a little bit at a disadvantage.
With a wolfish grin, Emerald's face lit up immediately and looked considerably less reluctant than the face earlier. While she wasn't going to completely trust this dude,t here was really no harm in hamming it up a bit, after all he sort of did it to.
Hey Guys, I have my new computer now which means I can start posting back again. Been having to do some tinkering but I should have all my posts done Friday. Sorry I haven't been posting much but every computer I have been on didn't load MRO half the time and then didn't load word the other half so I was having a hard time posting.
After leaving the car, Emerald took a chance to look around the shop. It was a nice place and even as she entered the place she noticed it had enough gizmos and gadgets to keep everyone happy. While this was nice and all, Emerald had been to better places before. Additionally, judging by that little speech he gave earlier he seemed to think they were all that and a bags of chips.
It was easy to be happy with the work you did and to love your place of work but it seemed more like bragging than anything else. Even with this waiting room, it was hard to tell whether or not this was for the customers or to just show off how much money the shop made.
As if it was compensating for other small fatal flaws that she did not see yet. There was no such thing as perfection or a squeaky clean record, especially in business with cars.
"So how long do you think it will take for my car to get fixed out of curiosity," Emerald asked taking in her surroundings, including every single exit and entrance in the building.
Old habits, died hard with her and she wasn't taking any chances despite how nice Colt was being with her and he was being nice, but her trust in people in general was sort of low. One good deed didn't just make someone completely trustworthy, there had to be a lot more than just that to win the favor of the Alpha Female.
The streets of New York were teeming with people, but this wasn't exactly different from normal. The streets were always practically bursting with people. It was a chilly winter evening and everyone in the city was bundled up, ready for what seemed to be a long winter’s nap.
It had been a little while since the video of the winged mutant getting the stuffing beaten out of her was put on the internet, and already the city was filled with unrest. There were always talks about police brutality and even the corruption of the NYC Cops, but now that there was a confirmation a lot more people were picking their sides a lot quicker than any of the respected “factions” of the city could expect.
However, despite how long it had been circulating on the internet, not everyone had seen the video just yet. Not everyone knew about the horrors that the young mutant suffered through, even if they were connected to the girl personally. Emerald Lupin was one of these individuals, having been out of town for the majority of this buzz.
She had been on a brief fishing trip with a few buddies of hers when these events occurred and since she didn't use the internet all that often, she didn't keep up with viral videos. In fact, Emerald tended to stay away from media in general, feeling it took too much away from the real world.
Speaking of the real world, at the moment, it was the full moon, which of course meant werewolf Emerald should be out in the forest rather than wandering the streets of NYC. However, due to a stream of convoluted events she did not have her normal route to the forest and every single taxi cab in New York did not seem to want to pick up someone dressed in a black hoody. It certainly didn't help when the clouds started to cover the sky and started a downpour. This wasn't necessarily a bad thing for Emerald, since she couldn't catch a cab, at least the rain obscured her appearance somewhat.
The hoodie certainly helped.
As she pushed past the crowded streets, she just happened to barrel right past an electronic store which was playing the latest newscasts. It was one of those stores that had the sound of what they were playing outside in order for the people to see what amazing sound quality they had. They were everywhere in this part of New York, the more shady park where everyone wanted to get things for a cheap buck no mater where they came from. It appeared that the newscast was replaying the viral video and was talking about its significance without its sound. Normally, this wouldn’t cause Emerald to bat an eye, but the sudden screams from the now unmuted video caused the wolf woman to stop.
”Gina?” Emerald growled, her voice hoarse and raspy. The hooded female pushed past the people and went over to where she heard the screams. The newscasters were talking again but were still playing the video in the background. It didn’t take much, however, for the pained alpha female to see exactly who it was on that camera. That, coupled with the screams from earlier, just confirmed her fears.
It was if the world had been sucked out from underneath Emerald. Everything was just quiet all around her. Her memories - so clear - of when she told that young girl about being the Alpha and making a silent vow about protecting her, as she did with all of those that were her pack mates. Problem was, right now, I wasn’t just Emerald the wolf woman looking at this event, it was Emerald the beast. On the full moon, her thoughts were considerably more feral, as well as her actions. She often found herself doing or saying things that she wouldn’t normally say or do and at the moment, the beast howled for blood.
"They hurt pack. They hurt pack mate. Hunt. Kill. No one hurts the pack!" Her mind howled, which caused Emerald to grit her teeth together.
A lot of times Emerald's wolf thoughts and her normal thoughts agreed with one another, things like family values and how everyone that she became close to was part of the pack. She wanted to go after these fools, but it might have been best to wait and see how the dumb court systems took care of this problem. There was nothing she could do right now. That said, she felt as if she had failed as a pack mate, as an Alpha to let something like that happen to Gina.
"Am I so blind? How the hell could I have not noticed she had been going out at night again? Of course it’s because I abandoned her - and Ruby for that mater. I failed…God damn it! I can’t keep doing this! I keep letting people I love get hurt all because I can’t protect them. WHY?! Why do I even exist if I can’t protect people I care about. Gina could have been saved if I had been watching her, but she has a useless alpha who couldn't even save her from a bunch of idiot cops! I need to find her and protect her or freaking teach her how to protect herself. Then maybe this won’t happen again.” Emerald thought, her own brain’s thoughts mixing with growls of anger.
Emerald's fists clenched by her sides uselessly, and she felt herself going through more of her shift, causing her to whimper slightly. She had to get to a forest quickly.
Emerald was jostled out of her thoughts by someone throwing a rock at the store and the glass of he window pane shattering. The She-Wolf looked at the assailant and noticed it was a bunch of beefy guys who looked like they just got out of a fresh work out from the local gym. The leader wore a red shirt with a red baseball cap, his stupid looking bleached white smile practically lighting up when he saw Gina fall.
”That channel was a bunch of trash! Bunch of mutie sympathizers, all of them!” He laughed and all his buddies laughed along with him. While he was caught up in his laughter, he noticed Emerald trying to shove past him to get to the other side of the street. “Wha- Hey watch where you’re going, you idiot! What are you trying to hide? Your ugly face?! Lemme see what’s under this hood…OH SH-“
As soon as random beefy guy grabbed her hood Emerald grabbed his hand and without hesitation grasped it as tight as she possibly could, shattering the bones inside. The man let out a loud, piercing wail that signaled to everyone around them what had happened. Unfortunately for Emerald, her hood had fallen down and people saw the reason why she had been keeping it up.
Being so close to her transformation, Emerald’s cheeks had started to rip slightly, dried blood caked down the sides of her face. In fact, her face had started to crack and extend into the long, third form lupine muzzle, but not fully, yet. It still fit on her human body, for now. Her fangs, far too big to fit into a normal mouth, were fighting to get out and were very visible from her half transformed maw. Her eyes showed the wolf look about them and fur was already growing around her face and neck, replacing her red hair almost completely.
"Get away from me,” Emerald snarled. The fact that she had opened up her jaw as wide as she did caused drool to splash down on the already wet ground. Of course the crowd dispersed to more safe areas, but the meatheads - of course - stuck around. It didn’t take long for Emerald to find herself surrounded, which of course included the meathead with the broken hand.
”We aren’t going anywhere, mutie! You’re gonna pay for what you did, just like your little friend,” he grunted, The pain in his voice was apparent, but it didn’t look like he was backing down. “You are a monster, and all of you deserve to be punished.”
Emerald’s eyes were icy cold, her teeth still bore into a snarl. She stalked around the circle of men, her eyes staring at each and every one of them.
"She did nothing wrong. She is just a child,” Emerald told them, as she felt her arm shift and break, bones cracking as her hoodie ripped to reveal a massive, clawed hand. It was twice the size of her body, covered in black fur with razor sharp claws on the tips of the “fingers”. It could easily fit around a human body and crush it. “Me, on the other hand…Well, you’re right about one thing. I am a monster.”
A blood curdling howl left the werewolf’s throat, and she lunged for the nearest male slapping him aside as if he was nothing more than a fly. Blue shirt Meatbag went flying across the pavement and skidding into a car, in which he left a sizable dent. He wasn't dead, however, Just as they saw their buddy go down, the boys attacked and the battle began.
A long, long time ago in a galaxy far, far, away Emerald had the sex talk with Ruby. After that, she was sure that she would never have to give anyone a talk relating to that sort of thing ever again. Of course, she had been wrong before and now she was looking at her student, trying her best to be the supportive big sister figure, but hooo boy was it it hard.
"Did ya at least Lysol the hell out of the X Jet when you were done," Emerald asked, as she tried her best not to let the exasperation tinge her voice. It wasn't working too well though and that deep voice of hers just teemed with it.
The wolf woman took a seat on a fairly rotted looking log but it didn't look like she cared at the moment. She had to think of the proper way to respond to this. Then again she had never been about proper ways of responding to things so maybe she should just say what was on her mind and get it over with.
It's not like that had ever gotten her in trouble before.
"Ok, hear me out here, you just had sex for fun right," Emerald began still trying her best to wrap her mind around that concept. "While I think it's good you are trying to get over Agnes, I'm not sure if throwing yourself at anyone is going to help you. Especially not Gawain because as much as a love my strange adopted brother sometimes sister, he needs to find a good, stable girl too. That and maybe it's just a wolf thing but if you are gonna have sex with someone it should be with someone you care for very deeply. Or if you have to do it to save someones life."
It wasn't the best and easiest way of putting it, but with her own past experiences, Emerald knew a thing or two about sex. She knew it was best to have it mean something rather than it mean nothing at all because that empty feeling after the encounter didn't just go away it lingered.
It didn't exactly take a genius to notice that the tone of the room changed drastically. That added to the fact that the body language of both girls changed before Emerald and that spoke to her far more than words. Wolves understood body language and they expressed the most through their bodies. Despite the fact she wasn't a full wolf, Emerald had enough of a wolves mindset to recognize hostility from a "two-leg".
"Nice to meet you both again, easier to talk to you with a human body," Emerald told them, trying to defuse the situation...well sort of.
Then again, she had never been the one that had the best tact so what she said afterwords, while not the best choice had to be said. The feral female turned to the little blonde girl, her own body tensing up.
"Did I do something or say something wrong? Because if I did just let me know. " Emerald told the young girl, taking a slightly angry if not almost parental tone.
This girl looked like she was about Ruby's age when Ruby came to the mansion for the first time and considering Emerald practically raised her baby sister, she knew how to handle younger students.
Emerald smiled a little when Jacob mentioned that Sapphire was one of those girls. That was probably the understatement of the century. It was wildly known by the Lupin family that Sapphire's snootiness was unmatched by most people. While she did have a softer side to her, it was hard to see past all the posh and primness she seemed to emanate from her. Such a huge contrast between her siblings, especially Emerald, who really couldn't care less.
That compliment of Jacobs made the werewolf arch her brow a little. Either that was just a harmless compliment or a blatant hit on but either way he was trying to be nice so that much could be appreciated.
“Thanks, that's not a compliment I get often so thanks.” Emerald replied, sincerity in her voice.
She still laughed at his joke about her fangs because he was probably right on that. Those choppers of her could tear through pretty much anything so not trusting her to pick up a newspaper was probably a good thing. He did make a mention of his ranking in the army which made Emerald pause. She didn't quite know how to respond to that considering she wasn't familiar with the rankings in the military. If they were in wolf terms then it would be easy but since it wasn't then she had no clue what that meant.
As for Ruby possibly working there, it wasn't a bad idea but the Alpha Female didn't know if she could fully trust Colt yet and entrusting him with her baby sister was not on her top priority list. Ruby meant the world to her and she wasn't going to let her baby sister come out here in the middle of nowhere despite how nice the shop was, without fully knowing the guy.
“Very nice,” Emerald compliment him as they pulled up to the parking lot. “Do you get a lot of business all the way out here?”
That shadow boxing continued, Emerald fighting against a shadow version of herself in her mind. In her eyes she could really only be matched by two people in her travels so far, Isabel, the bone manipulator and her own sister Sapphire who was her equal in every way.
However, if she fought herself constantly she could realize her own mistakes a lot easier, seeing the infractions from her punches of her shadows and learn to improve it. It seemed silly but it was how she got better.
Not only this but the Alpha female knew that this method of shadow fighting was an easy way for her to converse with people. Well of course unless they mentioned loveless sex on the X-Jet, now that was enough to get her attention.
With a surprised grunt, that swiftly jabbing fist got out of synch with the rest of the body it was attached to and nearly caused a loss of balance. Despite that frantic backtracking, the renegade X-woman looked over at the other girl with a very suspicious gaze.
“That's an awfully specific way of putting it,” Emerald observed, stopping her routine of fighting to look over at her student. “What person would this hypothetical you be having hypothetical loveless sex with?”
Now, Emerald didn't know if she was making an idiot of herself or not, even if she was she didn't mind. The whole thing was just odd that was all and she wanted to get it cleared up.
As for me, Well i have been missing for a few days because I have been helping my mom with her wedding, but now another problem arose. My dad is sort of a idiot, I know that isn't nice to say but at the moment i don't reeeally care, My dad took my computer while It was off and decided to put it ontop of my cooling pad which had been in the freezer for several hours and left it on there for 8 hours. Why is this a bad thing? Because the condensation got into the computer and fried the video card. And now I have to get a new one on an expensive laptop. I need this laptop due to my learning disability and the fact I have classes online his semester so I'm sort of rightfully angry at all this.
For the next few days I will at my boyfriends house posting, or at school posting so my posting will be messed with. I will try to post when I can. But untill this problem is fixed my muse will be in a bit of turmoil, I promise I will keep posing though.
