The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

"Only if you count the touching objects and seeing its life history," he replied with a chuckle. "So, I have no idea what seeing my imparted memories are like. But, I don't get rid of memories or nightmares. My power merely makes a copy and leaves it somewhere for the next unsuspecting sap who touches it to be bombarded by it."
The alcohol started taking its hold on Ty a little quicker than usual as well, but he had to say, he didn't care. Especially what with all the crap on his mind lately. It was a welcome change of mindset. Ty smiled as she spoke, and he settled into the couch with his glass of vodka, smiling more as he felt her hand on his.

Ty honestly couldn't blame her when she created distance between the two of them. After what she'd just seen, it made perfect sense. After all, thanks to his power, something that he'd have preferred no one ever know about, had been let out of the bag. He took the glass, taking a swig of the vodka. Oh yeah....that was the stuff. Right there.
"Noted, though I don't think I'd have written on my clothing...not that I have any means of finding out myself...drawback to my powers, I can't see what I impart onto things. I have no way of knowing." After a pause, he added, "And no, even if you did volunteer, you're not gonna be a guinea pig for that."
He smirked, looking over at her as he took another sip. "Remember the conversation about me climbing a tree just to kiss you? Well let's just say I'd do even crazier **** if it meant sharing your bed or sleeping with you. You mean that much to me," he said, winking. It wasn't an 'I love you,' but it was honestly way to soon for one of those. But he did acknowledge that there was some sort of very real connection between the two of them.
"Most of the time it's that same one these days. Or something similar. On occasion, I battle with others, but they're infrequent, and usually differ." He too, another sip. "Those, are usually me reliving those moments of my life I didn't want to live the first time. Sometimes, I'm seeing my mother die in that car accident. Others, I'm reliving the day my powers surfaced." He paused. "And others...I'm losing what few people matter to me."
He paused again. Then,he added with a small smirk."Though I admit that list is a little longer than it's been in the past, and that one hasn't happened since I've met you..."

He stewed on this for a moment, thinking, weighing everything. This was just...weird. "Vodka," he said simply, answering the most important question first. Definitely vodka. Yep, it was official. He was getting hammered tonight.
"For the most part, it sounds like my ability, for sure. But sepia?" He chewed on his lip a little, still thinking. "Well, I think we just discovered another facet to my powers," Ty grumbled. "Just when I thought I was getting them under control...and...I may have to burn my sheets because I probably wrote the same nightmare on them, my pillowcase..." He sighed deeply.
"This is going to impact us sleeping together, isn't it? Or will I have to wear gloves to bed?" Then, something clicked. "Actually...if I wore two thin pairs of gloves, it would write the dream on the inner layer, which I could throw away, and you'd never have to come into contact with it..." It would work, but...Damned if it didn't sound ****ing ridiculous.

He chuckled, settling back into the couch. Ty had to admit, he loved the comfort of Mag's living room furniture. He felt so safe...in her apartment, with her. Which was more than he could say about his own apartment most of the time. Usually, after a nightmare, he either lay awake in bed, paranoid that Lori was going to jump in through the window and dissect him right there, or he'd sit on the couch with a hard drink, paranoid of the same thing.
But here, with her...was cozy. He looked down at his empty glass, wondering how easy he was willing to take his drinking tonight, all while denying the fact that he too, may also have a problem with alcoholism. He called it 'recreational drinking,' which meant he did it as a hobby, where most people played basketball or did origami, or put jigsaw puzzles together...
Then, he listened as she finally agreed to share her..."What the hell?" he murmured, somehow managing to wait until she finished speaking.
"Uh...Mag? Something weird's going on here, Hun..." he said, sitting up, his heart starting to race with fear and uncertainty. "You...you just described my nightmare, to the core. The one I've been having for over a year now...The walking down the hallway to...that was me you saw on the table, wasn't it? You saw what I wouldn't wish on my worst enemy...but...." His voice trailed off, and when he spoke again, his voice was raspy and barely a whisper. "How?"
He cleared his throat. "Can...can you describe anything else? Was it in color, or greyscale? I mean...am I really capable of...using my power in my sleep like that? If so...then...I may have to go home and burn my bedsheets..."
He sat back onto the couch, rubbing his temple. This was too much...

Ty wasn't really paying attention at the time, he was just working on getting his breathing, his thoughts, and his hunger in order before she brought the drinks. He snapped back into reality, paying attention to her as she explained. But first, he took the whiskey as she handed it to him, and downed it, though he started off carefully so as not to agitate his still semi-weak stomach.
"Oh, I didn't realize you'd had one too. Small world, eh?" he joked lightly as he finished his glass that quick. Usually, he'd pace himself, but...it just didn't seem like it was going to be that kind of night.
"You wanna tell me yours? he asked, relaxing a little. And then came the music. It was...definitely not his style, but he remembered the night they met. His music, as it turned out, wasn't exactly her style either, but differences were normal in a relationship. So for her, he tolerated and respected her choice, as she had his.
"I'll make you a deal. I haven't told anybody about mine, but...if you tell me yours, I'll tell you mine."

He sighed, taking a deep breath. "Look, it's not that I don't want you involved--well, I can't say that I do want you involved, because this is some dangerous ****. And think about who you're hearing talk about dangerous **** for a second," he replied, taking a breath as he gathered his thoughts. "It's not that I don't trust you, or that I want to give you some sugar-coated bull**** of a story..."
He looked away for a second as he was bombarded by memories, flashbacks, the night after night of nightmares that haunted him, even if they weren't as frequent, they were still just as real. "I've seen some **** that I don't want to share with anyone. I wouldn't wish it on my worst enemy. I lie awake at night, remembering this ****, having nightmares about this ****. It's not what I'd call a good time. But, I can give you a piece of it. A piece." His words stood firm.
"Over a year ago, I was given this job. It was supposed to be a quick, in and out job. I bust into this place, Faust Pharmaceuticals, gather some intel. Get in, get out, get paid. Easy. Well...it wasn't so easy. I saw some ****, man....like, graphic, X-Files grade ****. It freaked me the hell out. And then...I saw her. Lori. I hauled ass before you can say lobotomy. And...once gathering what few things I needed from my apartment...I just kept going."

"I thought you might have. I'm alive, I just...like I said, I got into some trouble and had to lay low for awhile. Spent the past year or so in Kansas, in what I'd at first thought was a recovery house for mutants, but...well, that turned out to be a cover for more shady ****, so I came back here," he explained, trying not to give out too much information about his past. After all, no one deserved to know the different levels of hell he'd been through. But all things considered, Chloe at least earned a decent, and honest explanation.
He paused a moment, pulling away for a second. "Well, if it helps any, you started smoking and I'm now a recreational drinker," he joked, though he had to admit the humor was a little dark. "But...I'm glad you came. There's a lot to talk about." He chuckled lightly.
"You're probably wondering how I got that quarter into your pocket, and may have gathered by now that I discovered a new aspect to my powers since we'd last seen each other, but before I left." He took a deep breath.
"Well, I saw you with Lori the other day," his voice turned cold once he said her name, but returned to its normal tone after that one word. "I wanted to warn you...though I can't give you details...be careful around her." His icy blue eyes locked solemnly onto hers.

"Heh...hobby," the words came out with a slight scoff. "More like a habit. An addiction. Even though I didn't need to steal anymore...something in me prefers it that way. And so, it's still a big source of my income. Besides...day jobs really ain't my thing," he finished his statement with a shrug.
He listened as the young woman spoke, however. "I understand that. My mother died when I was young, and my douche-bag of a father was no good, so they shipped me to live with my aunt. After she died, I was homeless and on my own. By the time I found solid ground...the life was already in my blood. And to be honest...I don't think I'd have it any other way." He took a deep breath, realizing maybe he wasn't exactly the best influence a young person should have...but oh well.

He could tell something wasn't quite right with Mag, either. But, the thing was, he didn't know what it was. He had no idea of knowing there was another facet to his power that allowed him to impart dreams onto objects while he slept, though his bedsheets and pillowcases at home were probably littered with the same nightmare.
He ruffled through her fridge, coming back with a celery stick, since Mag had said he was in the wrong room if he wanted booze, but he didn't want to waste a trip to the kitchen. As she went to the booze cabinet, he flopped back on the couch as his stomach settled and he bit into a stalk of celery.
Watching her, he noticed she seemed better, but something still seemed...off. "Hey, you okay?" he asked, concerned. "I didn't mean to wake you...I guess I get kinda loud and antsy when I'm having a bad dream..." he spoke softly, looking away.
You've still got a few hours, and given your track record... He chuckled at the text, but noticed that his friend was getting...well Cafas hadn't been taking it easy like Ty had, after all.
I'll be careful, I promise. No fighting, no climbing trees, I won't even jaywalk. See you soon <3
"Heh...yeah. These days, it seems the hot ones tend to be the most dangerous, eh? Protective I can handle, that's nice. Jealousy is another beast entirely."
Raising his glass, he finished the rest of his drink. "I think I'm done for now. I've gotta do more drinking later, and I'd like to at least remember ya in the morning," he joked lightly.
Yep, from what Ty could tell, Caf may have had a problem. But sadly it was one Ty himself didn't know how to address. After all, he had his alcoholism under control, he thought.
"I...had a nightmare," he murmured as his stirring had woken Mag, and apparently scared her a bit. He had no idea she had seen what he had, because he was unaware that he was capable of using his powers in his sleep. His face was pale, and his body was trembling, followed by a sudden wave of--
"One sec," he barely managed to murmur before leaping off of the couch and running to the bathroom. He didn't have time to shut the door as he barely made it to the toilet. But, he just made it, and he spent the next few minutes evacuating the content of his stomach. Afterwards, he just curled up on the bathroom floor for a few minutes, regaining his strength.
Weakly, he walked back to the living room. "I don't know if I told you," he said weakly, the color still drained from his face, but, I've been battling with recurring nightmares for the past...year or so. They've eased up, but every now and then it'll hit me harder than usual. You got any alcohol?"
After wrapping this up with a question, he made his way to the kitchen, looking for the booze in question.

He didn't know how to take her reaction to his confession, so he just filed it under "never mention again." It was still awkward talking about his ex to her, but hey, she was his now, and that was what mattered.
"Yep. Anything with a keypad, I can gather the code from. Or you know, if it's old fashioned...steal the key." Snuggling into her, he smiled as he felt her slowly drift off to sleep. And he wasn't far behind, himself.
After the events of today, and now that he was comfortable, he soon found his blinks taking longer as the room melded into darkness and he too, drifted off. With Mag by his side, everything was perfect.
At least for awhile. Ty's sleep turned into a dream, which quickly slipped into a nightmare.
He was walking down a long hallway, filled with the sounds of screaming, horrible sounds as his walk hurried into a run and he ducked into a nearby room. There, on an examination table, a poor mutant was being experimented on. Slowly, he approached the table in an attempt to help the poor soul before he was dissected.
Stepping closer...he saw that the captured mutant...was him. Then, his view changed. He was now on the table, and...looking down at him was...Lori Faust. And the evil blond woman looked down at him with a sadistic grin...
In his sleep, he gripped onto Mag, his eyes glowing red, but it was dulled because his eyes were closed as he wrote a silent video version of his dream onto her shirt while it happened. The next time her hand touched her shirt, she'd see a silent video in sepia tinting of his dream. This was an aspect of Ty's power he didn't even know existed.
He gripped her tighter as he woke up in a cold sweat, tears threatening to leave his eyes as he shivered, a whimper escaping his lips.

"Do you want to tell me about where that came from?"
He paused, sighing. "Well, that's a long story. I was working for this mutant who'd give me certain...less than legal jobs. Usually stealing or obtaining information, and he paid rather well. One day, he gave me a gun and a hit. I don't like guns, but he was a mentor, and he didn't like being disobeyed. So, I went out, and shot my ex--non-fatally...then, I ended up writing everything onto one of my gloves..."
He took a breath, letting it hang there. After all no need to tell her about the two of them getting back together, albeit briefly, right? Right.
"And that's it for my mutation, really. I've learned to control both facets of it, for the most part, and I've learned little tricks, like getting passwords from keypads." He let his eyes close slowly.

"Heh, you ask a thief how long they've been stealing, and you usually get one of two answers: long enough, or too long," he replied with a chuckle. He knew the feeling of surviving, of doing whatever it took to etch by another day.
"Too long," he said, answering her question finally. "But specifically, about...seven years. Started out as just a fun, less than legal gig. Then next thing I knew, I was depending on it to survive. Now though, that's mostly what I know."
He gave a shrug. "So maybe that's why I helped. I know what it means to have no one. Even if you don't need them, backup's a welcome thing to have every now and then. You can call me Ty, by the way."
