The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

"Sounds like a plan to me," Ty replied smoothly. "You're pretty good yourself. To be honest, had it been anyone without my level of...expertise, you'd have gotten off clean." He leaned on his cane so that his left hand could be free to accept the wallet, however he wasn't too laid back. After all, Ty knew the first rule of thumb was to never trust a thief. Especially one you didn't know.
"Honestly, the cane's only a recent addition. Some crazy chick with a blade fetish decided to give me official handicapped status for Christmas. But, ya know, that's just part of the game. The trick is getting your disadvantages to work for you. Like you said, no one expects a guy with a cane."
He flashed a mischievous grin at this one, but his eyes flickered to his surroundings every once in a while. Cops could be lurking anywhere. Or worse, Little-Miss-StabbyFace.
"You can call me Ty," he said finally. He really didn't care if he threw his name out there. Most of his more criminal activities fell under the name Sleipnir nowadays, anyway. This, on the other hand, was just a hobby. Kind of like playing guitar or working on old guitars, only a hell of a lot less expensive.

The ginger's cane audibly hit against the sidewalk with every step. Ty was finally getting accustomed to having it; hell, he'd even taken the time to learn a few decent fighting moves with it. But he hated his now reduced mobility, which was pretty much his Christmas present from one Isabel. This also limited him to pouring over the seemingly endless Ragnarok roster instead of being active in the field. Damn kid always seemed to find a hundred more potentials as soon as Ty'd thought he was about to reach the end.
But today...today was different. He'd managed to take a day off from sitting in Jotunheim in front of the admittedly awesome big screen monitor and high speed computer, and he was out...picking pockets. He didn't need to, by any means. But it was fun. It was like riding a bicycle; he'd never forget, and he didn't want to. Something about it just made him feel so...
At that moment, he felt someone brush him. Most people would shrug it off as an accident because this was New York, after all. But not Ty. He took the opportunity to stealthily slip his right hand into the pickpocket's own pocket and pulling out the wallet within, but then he spun, sweeping at the stranger's foot with the cane in his left hand.
"Well," Ty said with a dry chuckle to get the guy's attention. His southern accent dripped off of his voice as he spoke. In this case, it actually provided a much needed charm and emphasis. "It seems as though two masters of their craft have met on the field. However, it may seem...that we are at an impasse." He gave another light chuckle, the smirk remaining on the ginger's lips.
Moments like this were what made it all worthwhile, though he'd seen numerous reactions when thieves were caught. This could either lead to a beautiful friendship, or a bloody street fight. And honestly, Ty would have been okay either way.

"Ya think?" he snapped, his voice a low, albeit pained hiss as he used the wall to support his weight. "I'd assumed the rest of the faction would have been informed...and the ****ing can opener turned out to be a crappy excuse for backup." He looked away from her, though he noticed he'd at least gotten a shot in. Nowhere near as good as hers, but...eh.
"I'll see to it that we're more organized in the future...and seeing as how I'll likely be reduced to desk duty for awhile...well, I'll have nothing but time now will I?" He sighed deeply; his legs both hurt like hell, though his left one wasn't nearly injured as badly as his right thigh, and the fabric of the uniform was sticking to his wounds, so that at least stopped the bleeding. It was going to hurt even more later, though.
"Now...one of us has to drag me to get me patched up..." As he sat on the cold asphalt of the alley, he pulled out his phone and scrolled down his contacts to Panu, and typed a text message.

when she went for his throat, Ty's left arm instinctively lunged forward almost on its own. Whatever the stiletto hit, it hit. And then, apparently his words sunk in and she released her grip; and he put the entirety of his weight into the wall, groaning in pain and frustration.
"Sleipnir," he spat. "And I'm not exactly doing this...because I find it kinky. Apparently this mission needed someone on the inside, making sure the real cops weren't coming close to finding the bombs, and for some reason they thought I'd be the guy for the job. Trust me, otherwise I wouldn't be caught dead in this ****ing thing..."
His body shook with anger as his eyes narrowed even more. For some reason, he still didn't feel like he could trust her. He'd have to ask Cafas the next time they met up. But for now, he'd have to keep her at arm's length.

Ty's eyes were unwavering, and the only hitch in his voice was from the pain in his leg. Something...something about this situation seemed off. The crazy woman was hell bent on stabbing a cop, and she didn't seem to notice that Ty wasn't even armed, or equipped with anything that came standard issue to police except the handcuffs. Not that he disagreed with her view on cops, but she didn't get his hints that he wasn't one.
"I am good at what I do," he replied coldly, his eyes narrowing even more. "But I'm not a cop." One thing she didn't understand though, was Ty no longer really showed fear. He felt it, yes, but for him, it manifested itself as anger and aggression. Suddenly she moved, and he moved as well, a pained growl leaving his lips as he shifted his weight to his pained leg. Instinctively, his right hand grabbed for her arm, but being injured, he was too slow, and the blade sunk into his right thigh, effectively rendering him useless.
He let out another string of curse words. "I'm not dying in a ****ing pig-suit," he growled, even though it hurt just to stand at this point. And Skoll's dumb ass was still just sitting there like a moron.
His grip tightening on her arm, he focused all he had into his mutation, so that at least he would as much as the shirt did about his attacker.
Once it finished, something clicked. "Ragnarok...I'm on your team you idiot..." he grumbled, hand tightening around the blade.
Skoll! Jotunheim!" he ordered, and suddenly the stalker perked up, then proceeded to run off, leaving the two of them alone, which...may or may not have been the best idea.

"Right now, just get close to her. Find out what makes her tick. All the while, make her think you're on her side. Do whatever you have to do. But if anything ever gets out of hand, I want you to call me," he explained, his gears still turning in his ginger head.
He was starting to see a darker side coming out of his half-sister. The last time he saw her, she was merely a mischievous punk kid who liked a little trouble here and there, and lived via less than legal means. He had to wonder if he'd brought that side out of her; if it was his fault that she was this way. To an extent, it kind of scared him, but at the same time, for this to work, he needed someone else with a dark side to them.
Then, he had to look at his own life. He knew he hadn't always been this way. He too was once a charming kid with a knack for the less-than-legal. But he knew he too had evolved to house a dark, sinister side under his still-charming exterior. Maybe that was just how life worked. Everybody had a shadow, after all.

Ty tried to ignore the searing pain in his leg as his assailant came into view. Seeing it was a woman, he swore under his breath some more. He'd sort of wished it had been a man, because in his experience they were far more predictable. As she started to circle him, Skoll sat down, tail still wagging.
"Something tells me I'm not exactly who you think I am," he hissed, trying to follow her movements as best he could. The ginger was built for his speed and agility, which his entire skill set from stealing to escape and even fighting, was built upon. And in one fell swoop, that was taken away from him.
And now, with the stupid META just sitting around like a freaking lap-dog, Ty was a sitting duck. Or a fish out of water. Little by little, he took a step towards the nearby building, at least with his back against a wall, he could see her every move.
"If you don't get hurt every now and then, you really aren't doing much of anything," he replied, icy blue eyes narrowed. With every passing moment, his initial fear was slowly turning into anger. He wasn't going to let fear of anyone or anything control his life ever again.
The blade of his knife flipped open. Again, it wouldn't help much because he was impaired, but the knife was all he had. No gun, no taser, no pepper spray. He had handcuffs, but...those didn't really seem applicable to the situation at hand. Maybe if he got out of this in one piece he could save those for later.

For some unexplained reason, Ty wasn't as attentive as usual. Maybe the cop uniform was getting to his head, and he may have forgotten that there were people like him out there who gave cops hell. Or maybe he was just caught up in the job at hand. Or maybe there was no explanation and he was--as usual--in the wrong place at the wrong time.
As he was walking down an alley, a searing pain suddenly shot through his left leg. Strings of expletives went flying as he stumbled, turning around to look behind him. His hand reached toward the wound out of instinct, but as the warm blood made contact with his fingers, he let his palm find the denim, writing a short random series of images onto his pants for no other reason than the intimidation factor. As always, his eyes glowed red, piercing the darkness as he imparted the thoughts while his other hand went for his six-inch stiletto, the one weapon he always had on him.
Actually, the only thing he had on him that was standard issue, besides the uniform, was a pair of handcuffs, which Panu was likely not getting back. His eyes scanned the alley, looking for something, but then...he noticed something was...off.
In all the commotion, Skoll was just...standing there, wagging his tail. "What the ****!?!" he spat, those three words pretty much summing up all of his thoughts and feelings at once right now.
His heart raced as his leg developed it's own matching pulse, causing him to wince. He was starting to feel something he hadn't felt in awhile. A feeling he hadn't felt since he'd fled to Kansas. Ty was afraid. He knew that with pain surging through his leg, he wouldn't be any good in a fight, and he sure as hell wasn't running anywhere.
For once in his life, Ty fisher was wishing he had a gun, even if it broke his own loose moral code. But he did know one thing.
There was no way he was going to die in a G-D cop uniform...

Night had well taken over the city, and things seemed to be just as ordinary as usual as Ty--or rather, Officer Nelson Muntz--patrolled the streets.
Yes, the ginger-haired troublemaker, thief, and all around lawbreaker, was on the Police force for the holiday season. Panu had an idea for a great Christmas present for the boss, and figured it would be a good idea to have someone on the other side, hindering the process while pretending to do good.
Somehow, the kid thought Ty made the perfect candidate for this, but hey...the kid was only eight, so maybe he was prone to mistakes. Nonetheless, here he was, late at night, patrolling the streets in the nerdy-ass navy uniform and the lame-ass hat. But the kid seemed to have faith in the ginger, because he did let Ty borrow Skoll for the evening, and the META walked by Ty's side "sniffing" out the bombs that were left.
Well, more or less sniffing out good places to plant them. He sighed adjusting his badge a little. "This is lame..." he grumbled, looking at the robo-dog, whose tail was wagging happily.
Well, at least this was for the good of Ragnarok. Hopefully after tonight, he wouldn't have to don this stupid uniform for awhile. He could just feel his dignity fading with every passing second.

Ty nodded. "Good. You're a step ahead of where I was at your age then. Morality is weird; all I can say is do what you feel is right. If anyone tries to change you or tell you otherwise...you know who you are. **** everyone else." Obviously, the ginger-headed young rogue had no filter on his language, but that really didn't matter.
Pulling out his wallet, he dug out a piece of paper and a broken pencil. He scribbled his number onto the piece of paper and handed it to her. "Here ya go, Jay. If you ever need anything, give me a call. I'll have your back."

Ty sat on the nearest chair, somehow succeeding in keeping from evicting the contents of his stomach onto the floor. But that was one less thing he had to worry about. Now, was staying alive while battling this freaking hangover.
"A mutant? Yes," he replied with a nod. "To elaborate, I work a lot of parks in the city, so I can't be sure which one. I'm a pickpocket in my free time, so though I may not target women or children, we may have seen each other in passing. We haven't spoken, I know that much."
Sure, he'd just admitted to being a criminal, but hey, this little girl wasn't exactly in a position to be throwing stones. Even if she could probably definitely kill him with said stone if she saw fit. But...well that was a problem he was trying to evade at this very moment in time.

He shrugged. "We learn how to make things work. Especially when you know the right people. But yeah, people try to talk all holier than thou, but it's easy for them to say. Just because we break the law, doesn't mean we're bad people. It just means we live by our own rules. It's 'bad' because it doesn't fit in with the norm."
Ty nodded when she said she shouldn't be staying there. "My thoughts exactly. You have anywhere to go. I mean, if you need anything, I've got your back. When I was your age, there was a time I'd have given anything to hear those words, so I'm giving you an option, not an obligation," he said politely. If she didn't want his help, he was fine with that, but it was better that he offer and it not be needed than for the reverse.

"I know you didn't. You had every right to pry though. I mean..." His voice trailed off for a second, and the next words he spoke were bitter, but towards himself, not to her. "I mean...everytime something bad happens...I run. That's what I always did. Tucked my tail between my legs and ran, not giving a damn about those who cared about me." He sighed, deeply, pausing.
"No...did. I'm not doing that anymore. Whatever happens, I'm not alone. I don't have to fight alone. As for Lori...I do have an idea, but it's dangerous. And risky." He smiled a mischievous grin.
"I'm going to need you to get close to her. Turn on me. Well, make her think so, anyway. That's how we find out how to get her. We'll come up with more details later, right now, we're just scouting. Okay?"

He chuckled at her tone as he filled up her glass while he was at it. This was nice, in a dark sort of way. Just drinking and bonding by talking about things they probably wouldn't talk about sober. Beautiful.
"Chicago? Nah. I'm from Georgia, moved to NY at fourteen, and I spent a year in Kansas. So while I may or may not have passed through, I've never actually stopped and smelled the roses there." He laughed at her comments about his music.
"What can I say? I'm really into rock music, from soft, to classic, to the all out heavy stuff." Then...she asked about his early life, and his smile faded a bit.
"I grew up in a small town, only child. Loved by my parents, that sort of thing. It was happy, as far as I remember. But...when I was ten, my mother died in an accident with a semi-truck. My dad turned to alcohol to cope, and...damn was he an abusive bastard when drunk. I ended up living with my aunt, and we moved to NY when I was fourteen. Two years later, she died, and I ended up homeless for awhile. Didn't take me long to get back on my feet though, albeit dishonestly. Then, a few years ago, my old man came back into my life, kicked my ass, stole my wallet, you know, fatherly stuff..." His voice grew darker with every sentence. "I don't remember how the whole story goes, because I ended up drinking most of that away, but I do know I killed him."
He shrugged a little, having said the words 'I killed him,' as if he'd just said it was raining outside; no emotion whatsoever.
"And that, love, is how I came to be the charming young fellow sitting next to you~"

He gave a dry chuckle as he poured himself another drink. "Well, my promise will stand. But if you have anyone you want revenge on, I could totally discover their darkest days and make 'em see them all over again." He shrugged, it was an honest offer, even if it was pretty dark. Or maybe it was the alcohol talking.
He smiled as she toyed with his hand, chewing on her question for a bit. "Let's see...what's to tell that you haven't figured out already? You know I'm a thief by trade, charming, gentleman despite my background...well, you sort of know I've done some odd jobs, hiring out my powers for extra cash."
He chuckled. "Well, I had a cat once. She ran away shortly before...well, shortly before I did. I also love animals, except for poodles. Evil little bastards..." he grumbled the last part. "What about me would you like to know?"
