The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

"Say no? To a kiss from you? Please..." he retorted with a light wink. "Totally worth it. Though fire and destruction seems to follow me around for some reason. Never could figure out why." He gave a light chuckle, nuzzling her as she rested against his side.
He soaked in the moment, the closeness, just...being with her. Sure they'd only been together a month or so, but...sometimes it seemed like it'd been longer than that. His hand wrapped around her, resting on her side.
"When did you get your powers?"
The sudden mumbled question stirred him from his gooey, cheesy thoughts as he let his eyes focus on her for a second.
"The Psychometry, I discovered when I was sixteen. I was turned onto urban exploration around then, which led to pickpocketing, which led to burglary, which led to car-theft..and so on and so forth. I lived in New York with my aunt at the time. While I was out, her apartment got broken into...and she was murdered. When I came back, I picked something up, I forget what it was exactly, and the entire scene--and then some--flashed in my mind. Like everything that thing had ever seen was suddenly crammed into my memories. Up until a week or so before I met you, I always wore fingerless gloves to keep my power from activating when I didn't want it to, which gave me the nickname...hobo. Now, I no longer need them, because I have control for the most part.
The writing on the other hand, came about...maybe two years ago." He stopped there, wondering whether or not he should tell that bit of the story. After all, his ex was involved, and he always felt weird discussing Tses with his current girl.

He shrugged. "Never said you were. But you sure won't now. Look, an escape is an escape. And an escape means you're not in the back of a squad car. Sometimes, surviving a situation is more important than how you did so," he explained patiently. He steadily reminded himself that he too used to be this confident and brash. Then again...he still was sometimes, but he was usually more reckless than anything, which...never really wore off over the years.
He could sense the edge on her words, but then again the grudging was almost telegraphed onto every sentence. He didn't advance anymore, so as not to agitate her farther. Instead, he leaned against the wall. "Yeah, I'll surprise you with some wisdom every now and then," he joked lightly, watching the alley just in case. Old habits died hard.
"How long ya been stealing, if you don't mind me asking?" he inquired, tucking his hands into his pockets.

He pulled his black hoodie over his head as the wind picked up. He probably looked different, but he at least gave her an exact location. He sighed, his thoughts racing as he saw her coming. What would he say to her? How would he explain his ridiculously long absence? He couldn't give her the truth...but maybe he should at least share some details. After all, this was the only living family he had--that he knew of.
"Hey there," he replied softly, and then...she started crying, so he stood up, pulling her into a hug. "Hey, it's okay. I'm here now. I'm sorry I left like I did, but...I kinda got caught up in some deep ****. Had to get away for awhile. But...don't worry, I'm back now. That is, if you'll have me."
His icy blue eyes locked on hers, also threatening to cry.

Ty was aware of what he was in for; the whole scenario was nothing new to him. What mattered to him, was that he cared about her, and she cared about him in return. That was it.
"Yeah that'd be a no on the drive. I'm okay just hanging here." He paused, then chuckled at her question.
"That's kind of a loaded question, isn't it? I mean, why would I ever need to climb a tree for a kiss? What situation would call for that?" Teasingly, he opened his eyes and stuck his tongue out at her before settling back into his peaceful state.
"But to answer your question, if the need to ever arose, yes I would climb a tree to kiss you. Even if it was on fire." He chuckled lightly, mostly at the cheesiness of his own comment, but it was said, so there wasn't much to do about it now.
At least the pain had finally subsided and he could fully enjoy this moment with her. Even if it wasn't quite what they'd had planned.

"Oh don't tell me you've never heard the phrase 'thick as thieves,'" he teased lightly. Ty could tell she was aggravated. Or annoyed. He knew the type, however, so he chose not to push this too far. After all, he was just doing his service for the day. Though most would have helped the victim, Ty saw things in another light.
"I know what it's like getting busted, so I thought I'd spare you that experience, if I could," he explained. Yep, this sounded crazy. Probably because it was.
"Well, thanks for the help." he could fill the irritation behind the words, and he merely smiled, nodding lightly. Ty wasn't a good judge of age, but she was young. That much he knew. More than likely she was young enough to not grasp a single thing he said if he went into detail. Teenagers were...funny that way.
"It's okay to accept help when you need it. But not everyone in this city is like me. My advice: accept the hand offered, but have the other close to your weapon of choice."

"I'd tell ya it gets easier, but...I really don't know what it's like on the receiving end of that ability," he replied honestly. "To answer your question, no I haven't used my powers to learn about you. Ever. I learned awhile back that it's best if I get consent before using abilities like mine on people I'm close to or want to get close to. Some memories are held closer than others, and trampling on and invading people's precious memories and life moments from the point of view of their shirt isn't exactly a nice way to get into someone's good graces." He gave a light chuckle.
"Me and you, I'm doing the old fashioned way. If you don't tell me, then I won't know. I guess it's my way of saying...I trust you."
He wrapped his arm around her, closing his eyes.
"Now, what's on your mind, broken one?"
"Now? Not much. Except I'm never climbing a tree to scout possible targets ever again," he said softly, wincing after he finished his sentence. Just the memory of that fall freaking hurt.

Ty shrugged once confronted by the young woman, who was...well, to be honest, rather ungrateful. He gave a shrug, holding his hands up to show he meant no harm. "Maybe I just thought you'd like to know I helped you lose the guy," he said calmly. Well, that answered two of the three questions. It was rather apparent to Ty that she was used to working alone; tone and body language made it hard to hide these things.
"Oh, I heard. Just looking out for my own, I guess." Granted, he mostly picked pockets for fun now, since he'd moved on to bigger and...well, more illegal activities like bringing down big business, but that was a story for another day.
"Look, honestly, I heard the commotion, got that loser off your back, and thought I'd let you know. You're welcome." His voice was still calm, and his tone came across more along the lines of joking than sarcasm, though it could have been taken either way.

Ty nodded as he listened. "Yeah, she was pretty wild, man. Don't know which was more explosive, her ability to throw energy bombs or her personality. Eh, maybe I'm just a sucker for punishment. " He chuckled as he took a sip of his new drink. “Mag’s different though. More laid back, but still as protective as hell. Seems like she might be the jealous type, but…I don’t plan on trying to test that anytime soon.”
He paused, thinking. "Yeah, Mag seems to think I get myself in too much trouble. I've already showed up at her place, bruised and looking like hell once. And tonight, may end up being twice, heh."
Bloop! The sound stirred Ty from the conversation; he hadn't put his phone on vibrate, so the sound akin to a water droplet was a bit disorienting when not expecting it.
"Heh, speak of the devil. Gimme a sec." He pulled out his phone, checking his text. Mag.
Are we still on for drinks at my place tonight, or am I going to have to deal with you bleeding on my carpet again?
Oh right...he was supposed to meet her later. Well, he'd gotten a head start, at least. Checking his time, he realized he still had plenty of time, so no rush.
Yeah. I'll be over later, as planned. And no, I'm not bleeding.
"Apparently I'm meeting her for drinks in a couple hours. Here's to a head start?" He raised his glass, taking another swallow.

Today was...rather boring, actually. The ginger-headed young man walked down the sidewalk, his dark green hoodie pulled tightly around him, with the hood covering his short red hair. All things considered, though, the boredom was a welcome break from his recent trend of getting hurt and/or waking up hung over. As his icy blue eyes focused ahead of him, he munched on a hot dog he'd picked up from some vendor. It was...okay. Nothing really spectacular, much like the rest of the day.
His mind wondered as he finished the mediocre frank and shoved his hands into his pockets. Maybe today I should just lay low, stay out of trouble, for once, he thought to himself, actually toying with the idea of behaving. No stealing, no fighting, no getting drunk or dealing with killers today.
"Hey you, thief!" Or not. Snapping back to reality, he saw a girl sporting a Mohawk and fur coat running from...well, some dude. The girl ran by him, and he casually stuck his foot out just in time for her pursuer to trip over it. In a flash, Ty palmed a quarter from his pocket before reaching down to help the 'gentleman.'
"Sorry about that, buddy, let me help ya up." Reaching out with the palmed quarter, as soon as the guy's hand touched the coin, he would be assaulted by about a minute's worth of random mental images, and followed by a headache. And he'd be one quarter richer.
On the other hand, as soon as the quarter left his hand, Ty ducked down the same alley. Why? Let's face it, Ty wasn't going to be one of those faceless good Samaritansheroes...Ty rather liked being noticed when he did good deeds...when he helped people. He did like helping people, it just so happened he was more of an accessory than a vigilante.
"Hey, you lost him," Ty called behind her. Very few people tended to follow after Ty ambushed them with random mental images like that; unless they were fellow psychics. Or stupid.

A string of expletives flew--very loudly--through his mind as she had the big guy watch the door, then closed it behind her. Usually, he wouldn't have been too easy for a nine year old girl to shove out of the way, but given the circumstances, he was practically tossed aside like a rag doll.
Since he was in this situation, he figured he'd treat it like an interrogation. Even if it'd been awhile since he found himself in an interrogation room, he still had his tricks.
"Well, we haven't technically met before, no. We might have passed each other in the park or something, though. Look, I'm having a really rough morning." He didn't know why, but he had a tendency to speak to kids as if they were really tiny adults. Maybe that wouldn't come back to bite him one day.

"I'm sorry, sir, but do I know you?"
Now that was a loaded question. If he answered it wrong, then well, this would definitely end with him not enjoying those cookies he just ordered, that was for sure. And, if things did go south...he was outnumbered, and his hangover prevented him from effectively using his powers without throwing up, so...there was that. Besides, what was the honest answer to that, anyway? 'Yeah, I saw the aftermath of you killing people in the park.'
Yeah, that would be great. He didn't actually see the act, but...what he did see that day was plenty. And...today was a bad enough day without adding 'dying' to the pile of crap for the day.
"I don't think so, no," he answered weakly. So, maybe this was why he didn't often go drink for no reason. The aftermath...it just wasn't worth it.

"It's cool. Just made me freak for a minute there. My little slideshow trick doesn't work on robots, ya know?" he gave a nervous laugh. He sat in the chair, watching the boy and the robo-dog, and his chuckle gradually became more confident, genuine. They were quite the team.
"Feel free to poke around for a bit. After that, I have a couple of things you can do to break her in. For starters, if you could find it in your heart to clear my criminal record and standing warrants, that'd be amazing. Then...well, we pick a business and slowly start eating at it. You do what you can from here, and I go to the place and get what dirt I can, if necessary."
He spun a little in his chair, eager to see what Panu could do with the technology provided. Ty'd used it before texting the boy, but...Ty was average at best when it came to these things. Panu, however...this was his gift.
IF Panu dug deep enough--though deep digging probably wasn't required to begin with--he'd see some things in the history. Most of it would be pages on St. Ezekiel's Home for Wayward Mutants, in Kansas. Everything from the layout of the large farmhouse and surrounding land, to the owner, a man named St. Ezekiel. Profiles, news reports, the works. Even a record of everyone who'd stayed there over it's several year run. Including the likes of one Tyler Vincent Fisher.
But, of course the ginger didn't think about this; after all, he underestimated the boy's powers. He felt the need to explain the included tech, after all.

Ty sat under a statue in the park, the setting sun casting a beautiful if somewhat eerie light on his surroundings. He loved the park, but...today, he was here for entirely different matters. He'd contacted Chloe awhile back, via a booby-trapped quarter he reverse-pickpocketed, and today was the scheduled meeting.
It'd been over a year since he'd seen his sister, since he'd...abandoned her. In all reality, that's exactly what he'd done, even if he had been scared for his life. But now...he was more scared for hers. He had to warn her about Lori, but...without giving away the full details of everything that had happened.
But then he had a thought...what if he could use her somehow in his fight against--no. He'd never stoop that low. But...something had to be done about her, and...he did need help.
Great. Here he was, already plotting. He didn't even know if she'd even forgive him for leaving. Again.
He looked at the clock on his phone. Five more minutes til the scheduled time.

"As long as no one's looking for him, I guess. But..." He sighed deeply, regaining his composure. "Try not to do that, okay? I have a criminal record, and jail isn't on my bucket list." He gave a soft chuckle, before turning back to their new mobile base.
"Yep. Same one. Technically. I've had so much done to it, the only thing that's the same is the body. Well, under all the paint, heh. She's decked out with anything you could want. Wifi, monitors, all-angle cameras so you can see outside. I even have one of those round ones on the ceiling of the place. It works, but not connected to the system. Just for you to tap into. The lock has a key, or alternatively, it can be unlocked electronically, again, just for you. But I figure you want to get acquainted with the tech yourself."
He made his way back inside, waiting for the boy and dog to follow. "You have your own chair," he added, motioning to the other blue chair, with 'Muninn' embroidered on it in the same silver letters. "And finally...I've had the soft serve upgraded to include more flavors, and the cooler is fully stocked full of any popsicle or frozen treat we could want." Pausing, he smiled.

Ty leaned back in his chair, the left center executive chair. It was his because on the back of said chair, the word "Sleipnir" was embroidered on the back, the silver letters contrasting with the dark blue of the leather chair quite nicely. Even looking at the multi-angle monitor that received feed from every angle of the truck, the META bot evaded the ginger's attention; maybe because Ty was also playing with his phone, but also because those things were just too damn fast.
The voice of the dog outside caused Ty to jump, letting out a harsh string of expletives in his signature fashion that was often imitated but never duplicated. At the first sound of the voice, Ty'd jumped into the driver's seat, putting the key in the ignition. Luckily, Jotunheim had been outfitted with a little more power than the average ice cream truck. It wouldn't evade the cops, per se, but it would put your mother's minivan to shame.
"....Charges: being Best Brother Ever. You have the right to remain Super Fantastic Awesome Most Cool Ever." ....Another string of signature expletives. "You adorable little bastard..." Ty muttered under his breath. Looking out of the window of the truck, he put the key back in his pocket, then stepped outside, looking for the boy in question. "Where'd you get the dog?" he asked no one, just hoping the boy heard him.
