The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

It didn't take long for the cut to stop bleeding, thankfully. However, he was sure he heard a growl behind him, and he whirled around, looking for the source of it. He jumped a little, but then semi-relaxed, though still ready for anything. But not a tiger.
"What the...?" he started, then noticed quickly that this wasn't exactly your run-of-the-mill tiger. "Oh, whew," the man murmured, then took a breath, still not letting his guard down, but for some reason he felt better knowing that he was dealing with a fellow mutant. Then again, he couldn't say many mutants had given him trouble. But none of them were part tiger either.
"Wait a minute...." Ty continued, talking mostly to himself. He remembered Chloe once mentioning meeting a mutant that very much matched the one he was looking at. "Hey uh, you wouldn't happen to know a girl named Chloe, would you? Butterfly?" Yes, he was more or less going out on a limb here, but in his mind it was better to try to make conversation than just stare and risk being eaten.

Ty stood outside knocking, but got no answer, though he heard a bit of shuffling when she dropped the book. It was faint, but it was enough to make the man worry. After all, Tses's apartment had seen a lot of danger and action lately. One hand gripped the pillow as the other reached into his wallet, fumbling for the key.
Once unlocked, he pushed open the door--only to have the chain catch it. Sighing, he reached in with his fingers and undid the lock before making his way inside and heaving a sigh of relief as he saw Tses was alright.
"Ah," he murmured to himself, "That explains it." Walking over to her, he planted a kiss on her forehead and held out the new pillow.
Now, Ty knew his girlfriend. So he had planned in his mind that he was in no way letting on that this was Valentine's day. That probably wouldn't blow over too well. So, he'd make her think it was just a normal day that he was going to turn special.

Ty continued whittling, carving the rest of the stick. But Ty's left hand was taped, and the glove on his right. Though it helped contain his power, this wasn't quite as useful for preventing the cold. His fingers began to hurt as he held the knife and the stick. Unfortunately, they began to grow numb, and Ty's hand slipped, the knife missing his stick and nicking his finger.
"Ow! ****!" he exclaimed, dropping the stick as he looked at his finger. The cut wasn't bad, but it was deep enough to bleed, staining the snow on the ground with droplets of deep red. Folding the knife and slipping it into his pocket, he stuck his wounded finger in his mouth out of reflex.

Lately Ty found himself spending more and more time at Tses since he came out of his emotional turmoil. But today, she'd told him to go home to Sanctuary and take some time to himself for once, something he hadn't done in quite some time. But instead of directly listening to her, he took a random detour, and he found himself near a wooded area.
Being in New York for six years did not destroy his inner Georgian. Though dormant, it still lay deep within him, usually only coming out in the form of his accent. But seeing the trees...something in him clicked, and he briskly walked into the woods, instantly feeling a wave of nostalgia.
His deep blue eyes took in the sights as he sat under a tree, pulling out his knife. He began to strip away some of the bark before carving a heart into the wood of the tree, then he began to carve more unorthodox images. They were simple and crude, but to him they carried alot of meaning. Inside the heart was a small equation of pictures. A fish, a plus sign, and a crescent moon, however, were something that only Ty would understand.
Smiling at his work, he picked up a stick and began carving the stick randomly, mostly giving it a point. Little did he know, he wasn't alone...

Ah, Valentine's Day. That day of the year that....that day of the year that before this year, Ty didn't care about in the least bit. None. It was lame, stupid, and just a way for those with somebody to rub it in the face of the single people.
At least, that's what the young man thought before today. Today, he didn't plan to go all out for Tses because he tried his best to make her feel special every day. But today he was going to do something very sweet for her. He was dressed the same as always, but under his arm he had a pillow, but no ordinary pillow. It was black, and had an image of a crescent moon. It looked very much like the night sky.
He had a key, but as he walked up to her apartment, he thought it best to knock and surprise her this way. So, his free hand made a fist, rapping his signature rhythm.

Ty nodded, relaxing more on the couch as he thought over this. "Yeah...that makes sense. But that means I'll probably need to find a bunch of stuff I can try to use my powers on. But..." he mused, rubbing his chin thoughtfully.
"I'll have to do it in moderation because of the headaches, and I'll probably need different kinds of objects. Maybe think of different ways to use my powers. You know, besides just idly viewing a past. Maybe look for useful information or something." The young man shrugged lightly. "Any ideas?"

Ty shook his head, holding onto it with his left hand. "I...I didn't get the number..." Ty murmured, his voice shaking. "Those glasses....that guy....he...." Putting his gloves back on, he fumbled for the aspirin in his pocket and popped two of them dry, as he usually did.
Then, he motioned for Aura to follow him into an alley. "I lost the numbers in the rest of the vision...that man...he beats women...abuses children..." As he spoke, the redhead's voice was still weak as he leaned against a wall. "I think those glasses saw every one of them..." He shut his eyes, face still pale and breathing heavy. "Just....gimme a second, okay?" he asked, trying to relax.

Ty felt his face turning red and his temper getting hot. Boiling hot. And it intensified with every word that Harlan spoke. It was all the young redhead could do to keep from turning and letting him have it...
"Yes...the base will work," Ty muttered, biting his lip, but at one certain comment, the boy almost lost it. "They are not lovers! If anyone would know, it's me. I'm right, you're wrong, get over it," he found himself hissing, nostrils flaring with each breath. So...this is what full-fledged jealousy felt like. Even though he knew with everything in him that it was unlikely--no, impossible that Tses would remotely do such a thing, those words pissed him off.
Fuming, Ty climbed the ladder, grabbing hold of the base of the camera. But it failed. Sighing, it took him several minutes to calm down enough, when it finally worked. "They didn't come in from the front," Ty said, climbing down and glaring at Harlan. "They came from above, but from the conversation I could pick up, they were two thieves who just happened to pick the same bank on the same night, and were forced to finish their heist together, or leave it behind," Ty explained, then added one more time for emphasis, "I told you. Not. Lovers." With that, he popped two more aspirin, sure that his power wasn't the only cause of his headache.

Ty nodded, listening. "Shouldn't be a problem. I got a new bottle of aspirin just for this occasion," Ty answered, following Harlan into the bank. The back and forth between the two men didn't really interest Ty. So they were lovers, big deal. He just knew he was here to touch a few things and get a story, and that was it.
When his hand touched the cold metal of the box. The other scenes flashed before his mind, but he ignored them. Then came the good parts. He saw the guy breaking open boxes, but the girl...he was right. But Harlan wasn't. He couldn't be. In fact...from the bits he could pick up, they seemed...distant. Not like lovers at all. Thank God...Then other scenes flashed by, but not much happened besides investigations.
Ty walked over to the water fountain, popping some aspirin and chasing it for once. "They're NOT lovers!" Ty found himself snapping, then regained his composure. "They were a male and a female though...male was sort of built like me, with dark hair and a facial hair. ...the female was smaller....blond...This case seems...old. I'm going to need a piece of the camera. Or something newer that would have seen the entrance. The box really wasn't that bad, but I don't wanna take any chances," he said, looking between the men.
Ty chewed his lip, looking at the pictures, taking in the damage and trying to get his brain to process all the information. This was new; it was like Harlan had a handful of pieces to the puzzle, and what he had seemed to fit together. "So my job is to find the missing pieces to your puzzle and put it together..." he murmured, studying the picture of the box. He couldn't help but think some of the damage looked familiar, especially after Harlan said the word 'explosives.' No...it couldn't be...could it?
Wait, actually yes it could, that was very likely that his suspicions were correct. But if they were he'd be faced with a choice. He just prayed it wouldn't go that route. Then he said something about magnetism and Ty inwardly released a sigh of relief. Maybe that was it.
"Yeah. If I were to touch that case I'd see not only your mutants, but I'd see every granny and every prick in a suit that ever used those safety deposit boxes," he answered with a smirk.
Ty chuckled, politely shaking his head. "Nah, that guy's flat broke, homeless. See? His jacket's tattered, his face is dirty, and he looks like he hasn't shaved in a month," he explained, rubbing his own stubble. "Maybe, but there's more in it if you test it on the richer man's card."
Then, he saw someone use the ATM outside the bank. Well dressed, glasses, three piece suit...And he got a wad of money from the machine. "Alright, this is it," he murmured, taking off his gloves. He walked across the street, down the sidewalk towards the man, bumping shoulders with him, but the man tripped over Ty's foot and they both went down, the glasses falling off of the man's face. Just as planned.
Ty secretly pocketed the man's wallet, then scrambled to his feet and grabbed the man's glasses. Then froze as almost like clockwork, his power worked. Ty was still frozen from the vision when the man snatched his glasses and walked away.
Those glasses had seen so much, and Ty was trembling as the headachr set in.

"Heh, living as a street kid is hardly a walk of life. Nine times out of ten you end up running," Ty answered. "I guess we could sit together, at least til we can think of something you wanna know," he said lightly, taking Tses by the hand and following bird-mutant.
"Though I gotta ask...what is this decision?" Ty asked, out of curiosity. For some reason, he didn't have a very good feeling about this, but only an answer would confirm or deny his suspicions. But only time would tell.
Ty nodded, smiling as she wiped his tear and kissed his cheek. "I love you too. I just feel like an ass for what I did to you. But I still support you, even help you move what little bit you have in. I'd just thought you were interested in moving in with me, but hey, it's no big deal as long as you're living somewhere better than here." His eyes softened a little.
Ty listened carefully, nodding as he processed the information. "Nah. I mean it's helped me figure some things out before, but I don't exactly hire myself out to investigators often. I'm currently unemployed, and I figured this would be a good thing to do on the side, if everything works out."
Standing up, he followed his potential boss, weighing what they were investigating. It sounded interesting, and even though his girlfriend had once told him he didn't seem like the investigator type, he thought it could be fun. Though judging as how he was going to be on the right side of the law for once, a small part of him was kind of starting to hate himself.
"Special talents? Not really. But I was into urban exploration some years back, so if you ever need to chase somebody down I can prolly catch, em," he answered with a small shrug, grinning. "My powers I've only really used however it suited me at the time. Though there was this one time it accidentally kicked in on a stick. That was interesting..."
