The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

When his eyes met hers, that look hurt him deep. He knew he'd messed up, and now...she knew too.
"I...I ran away," he murmured, his voice raspy and hoarse, every word he spoke leaving a bitter aftertaste on his tongue as he spoke it. He pulled away and leaned against the fence, sitting down. "I guess I have a knack for that when things don't go the way I want...it was cowardly, selfish, and it was the stupidest thing I've ever done." He sighed, not knowing how much she actually remembered.
"I threw away the closest person I had in my life, over something stupid. I've kicked myself every day for it, but...my only hope now is that you'll at least forgive me for being such an ass...If nothing else." His eyes were soft, solemn and just a little bit hopeful.
When Ty woke up, it was daylight.Harsh beams of sunlight shone through the window, stinging his eyes as he groggily sat up and looked around. Tses was gone, which...honestly didn't surprise him. She seemed to spend more time away from him than with him, not that he could honestly blame her. He'd been horrible to her, and though he was being nice now...maybe some part of her amnesia ridden self knew what a horrible person he had been for hurting her.
When the coffee table came into focus, he noticed something. The chain and necklace were both gone, and on the ground was the tag from her newest tiger. "ZOO." Could that be where she went? The young man didn't know, but it was worth a shot. Pulling on his denim jacket, he tightened his green fingerless gloves and for one reason or another, he bolted out the door.
Something didn't feel right. It caused a bad feeling in the pit of his stomach, and his heart felt as if it was on fire. Unlike Tses, Ty knew full well when he climbed over the fence, still bolting to the tiger exhibit. Seeing her on her knees and crying broke him even more. He didn't know what to say, what to do. But the next thing he knew, he was on his knees beside her, one arm around her, head leaned against her shoulder as tears streamed down his face.

It had been a long night. Ty'd managed to find a new chain for the necklace Tses had broken when they broke up, and he had thought putting the pendant on the new chain would be easy. But as a matter of fact, it was a pain. He'd spent all night pushing, pulling, and trying to get the moon on the new silver necklace. But it was no use.
Finally, hours later, he'd managed to get it on, and the jewelry had suffered minimal damage. Ty, however, had worn himself out. Why he even did it, well, he wasn't sure. The redhead was sure she was close to recovering, and he at least wanted some token of appreciation she could remember him by--if she even wanted it. If not, hey, he tried.
But now, he was tired. He lay sprawled on the couch, snoring lightly. On the coffee table lay the finished necklace and the old broken chain.
In his mind, he was dreaming, of happier days. The days with Tses, before he hurt her the way he did. On his sleeping face, was a small smile.

Ty ate in silence, as usual putting away just as much as Tses was. For two so small, they sure could shovel down a plate of food. When she finished eating, he took their dishes, and put all of the food in the fridge for later. Then, he began washing dishes.
"I am full aware what your weaknesses are," he replied with a chuckle as he finished up, then turned down the lights as he plopped on the couch and grabbed the blanket he'd been using. "The important thing was that you had fun."
"Actually we do know who's faster. I got here first, while lugging a giant stuffed animal. Case and point~" he replied teasingly as he fired up the stove, losing his jacket in favor of a black tee shirt and faded blue jeans. On the counter, was his arsenal. Hamburger meat, bacon, onions, mushrooms and french fries.
He cooked in silence, and in awhile the apartment was filled with heavenly smells. On the menu: Hamburgers, bacon, sauteed onions, sauteed mushrooms, and fries, complete with any topping they'd want.
Ty fixed a plate for each of them, leaving her burger plain while loading his down. "Okay, they're done, fix it how you'd like," he said, sitting down at the table.
Ty smiled, standing up. "No, I didn't cheat. You never said I couldn't use back-alleys and rooftops, which is what I did. I was never behind you because I was above and in front of you." He grinned, handing her the stuffed tiger. "Though I admit it was a challenge doing that while carrying this."
He gave her hand a gentle squeeze before turning to go to the kitchen. "But hey, you got both prizes. Can ya really complain?"

Ty gave a wild grin as the competition started, and he took off as well. However, he didn't take the same route she did. No, he backtracked, then hopped the back fence, taking the back-alleys before climbing a fire escape. From there, he took to the rooftops, just like he was used to. After all, she never said they had to stay on the ground, did she?
Reaching the apartment building, he went in through the fire escape, setting the tiger he'd lugged with him from the zoo on the coffee table, and plopping on the couch, out of breath, but victorious.
The apartment door opened, and he looked up at her with a grin. "Well hey there~" he teased lightly.

Ty heard some commotion in the distance, followed by another shot. Then, he heard footsteps coming towards him. Suddenly, he jumped out of his hiding spot, pocketknife in hand, and sank his knife into his attacker. Out of reflex, the shotgun went off, and the two bodies collapsed to the floor. The shot had luckily missed the redhead, but they were at least pursued by one less hunter.
The shotgun was a bit much for the pickpocket, but the pistol on the fallen man's belt would do nicely. Claiming that and the spare ammunition, he cleaned and pocketed his knife, now navigating the warehouse much more confidently. As he made his way back to where he last remembered seeing Noel, a gunshot rang out. But this time, the mutant returned fire, ducking behind a dresser and moving on.
Suddenly, it was quiet. Too quiet. No movement was heard but the sound of him crawling amongst the puddles and the rubble, retracing his steps. He stopped to rest beside some glass cabinets and reloaded.

Ty smiled, now, no matter what, in a sense they both won.Chuckling, he took off after her, this time adding a little more speed, but not quite running full. They made it to the tigers, and he stopped to look at them one last time.
His competitive edge was briefly dropped when he saw the white one. He remembered so many things the two of them had been through. It made him smile dreamily, then he looked at her. "So, whenever you're ready. Racin' home?" he asked, brushing aside his touchy-feely moment to give way back to the competitive edge.

"When evading cops, the last thing on someone's mind is generally letting those behind catch up," he replied with a wink. He smiled at her part of the bet, and it grew even more mischievous as he thought of one. "You know...If I lose, I'll buy you the tiger." He stepped forward, closing the gap between them.
"But if I win..." He let the sentence hang a bit, as he thought of something. "You let me make you dinner." Sure, it wasn't a punishment, but maybe she wouldn't know that.

"Not mine either, really. But...let's call it a hobby," he muttered, quietly looking around the pile of merchandise. A smile crossed his face when he found a screwdriver just like he was looking for. "I might not need it, but I may need to hotwire it, which is what the screwdriver's for."
He got quiet when he heard voices, nodding at Noel and motioning toward the door on the other end of the store. His headache was starting to reside, but he still felt like he'd ran a marathon. Quietly, the redhead started crawling, when suddenly another gunshot rang out and a mirror right above him practically exploded and he found himself showered by broken glass. Great...someone had brought a shotgun.
"Jesus...I thought I left all the rednecks back in Georgia," he muttered to himself as he scrambled away, around a corner. Then, another gunshot, and a headboard burst into splinters. Soon he found himself in an even more cluttered part of the store, but the gunfire had stopped.
But when he looked around, Noel was gone. The only sounds he heard were footsteps, people murmuring about which way they thought the 'freaks' went, and the sound of his own heartbeat thundering in his chest.

"Thing about keeping up, you're only going as fast as the person in front of you," he replied, a fire in his icy blue eyes--though a competitive one, not an angry one. He smirked, as he got an idea.
"You're on. Though normally we'd have a way to make things more...interesting. Would you like to think up something the loser has to do?" His eyes twinkled with mischief, leaving the ball in her court.

"We never figured out which of us was faster in the first place/" Ty quipped, getting competitive. "I only ran fast enough to keep up with you. Besides, I have poor endurance when it comes to running. Not that that's stopped me before."
He smiled softly when she called him Fish. She still remembered his nickname, the one she'd revived. She was the only one who called him that and he liked it.

Ty grabbed the first aid kit, scooting closer to her as he assessed the situation, thinking. Taking out an alcohol pad, he winced as he rubbed it over the wounds, cleansing it, but luckily it wasn't that deep. "The main idea should probably be getting out of here alive," he whispered. "They know our general direction, however many of them there are, so we should keep moving. What we need to do is keep our eye on the time as we make our way to another door."
He leaned back against something, resting. "It would help if I knew the bus's basic schedule. We'll have to time it just right so that we can catch the bus outta here and pray the driver isn't in on it too."
Suddenly it hit him. Duh! He would have face-palmed if he wasn't already feeling like crap. "Actually...scratch that. All we need to do is get outside, but I'll need a screwdriver. Also..." He took a breath, listening for nearby movement. "You ever steal a car before?"
The intensity in his eyes was replaced by one of mischief. Heh...who would have guessed that the street kid who stole cars for fun would be thinking of stealing one because he had to?

Ty smiled, brushing his hair aside. "Fair enough to me," he replied, taking off after her. Just as they used to, Ty kept up with her rather well, following her from exhibit to exhibit. It was actually rather nice, just the two of them, enjoying time together. Even better than they used to, even if the circumstances were a bit different this go round.
When they got to the meercats, he stopped beside her, slightly out of breath, but that was only thanks to his poor stamina."You know, I never really had alot of trouble keeping up with you," he teased lightly, winking.
