The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

Ah, New York City during the bustling hour of three in the morning. People were always going somewhere or doing something, but it wasn't very often a certain redhead was out and about at this hour. And considering what happened last time he was out this late, it was with good reason.
But tonight, or this morning, whatever, Ty couldn't sleep. He'd been through alot, and had just that much on his mind. His life, choices, what he was becoming. What did he even want out of himself? He didn't know.
And apparently sitting in a coffee shop where he was the only customer, staring into a cup of coffee, wasn't helping all that much. His gloved hand wrapped around the cup, lifting the steaming, dark drink to his lips. Ah, coffee. The one thing that never betrayed him.
He let out a sigh. If only coffee had all the answers. Life was confusing. He doubted every aspect of himself, and hated his rotten luck. Ty let out another sigh, relaxing in his chair as he took another sip of coffee.

"Thanks, it was years ago, but I guess I shouldn't blame my crappy decisions on anyone. After all, I still made 'em...And I'm obviously losing my touch..." He sighed, audibly, shaking his head a little.
"Yeah, I got a place to go. I appreciate you being so nice though." He leaned against some boxes, still sort of relaxing as he pondered his life choices. Maybe his luck turned to crap because of things he did. "Maybe...Maybe I should find something else to do for fun. Kiss all this petty stealing and useless troublemaking goodbye..."

"Stealing is a lifestyle I'd picked up. Used to be how I survived, but evolved into a...guilty pleasure, if you will. But, my power, I mostly use to help people. In fact, the only people it's really ever hurt is me. You know, sometimes I accidentally see things that I really don't want to see. I don't really see it as a cheat. Our mutation is part of who we are, something life gave us. Like any other talent. It all depends on how we play the hand we're dealt," he explained, thinking on this, himself.
Sanctuary came into view, and he led her through the Golden Doors, pointing out the mess hall, the rec room, and pretty much anywhere else of interest before finally getting to his room. As far as rooms go, it was simple. Bed, coffee table, TV on the dresser, nightstand by the bed, a recliner against a wall, and clothes scattered about.
"Well...this is it. Make yourself at home as long as you need to. Sorry it's not very extravagant." Then he had this random thought. Clothes. She'd need clothes.
"We'll need to get you some more clothes at some point...Until then...I'm pretty sure my shirts might fit you..." he mumbled.

"It was like...last month. I met this guy with a limp, accidentally used my mutation on his hat, and he ended up using me to hunt down some psychopath. When all was said and done, he gave me a limp to match. I should be back to my own in a couple more weeks. Shoulda been healed by now but I can't stay off it," he forced a smile.
He looked at her, listening as she spoke. He laughed at the last part. "Noel? This is New York, but I understand. What makes me feel bad is the fact that....well, maybe I like stealing or whatever. There are times I don't even know what I'm becoming, or I'm scared to know. Oh well, Sanctuary's not far from here. We can leave the car and walk. Though we should probably make a point never to step into that particular hospital again."
He started walking, occasionally glancing back or listening for sirens--just in case.

Ty took a deep breath. Right...she'd forgotten that. "Yeah...I've got a confession to make. I'm kind of...a thief. Well, I've started to stray away from that but...we were in a pinch so I did the first thing to come to mind. I got shot in the leg last month and I'm not a hundred percent healed, so...running wasn't an option for me right then..." He spoke the truth, but he felt like such a creep now. She trusted him, and now she knew he was a punk. A thief. Just some piece of scum who took a hiatus from stealing because he couldn't seem to hack it anymore.
"I'm sorry. It's not too far now," he murmured, pulling the car over, parking it, and shutting it down. He climbed out, then opened the door for her, hiding the tear that threatened to force its way out of one eye.

"Gotcha," he answered with a nod, then chuckled lightly. "So I see. And as for sleeping...well, if those are my only options, I pick the couch. I'm no stranger to sleeping on a girl's couch by myself," he mused lightly, shaking his head. For some reason, that whole ordeal seemed funny now that he was drunk. Normally it was something he forced to the darkest reaches of his mind. But now, it was a joke.
"I'll be fine. When I'm up to it I could just make my way across the street. Just...not right now." He settled into the couch more, smirking lightly.

Ty nodded, thinking this over. "I generally go for the throat, but I see your point. Never really made a science out of killing. It's just...sometimes...necessary." And enjoyable. He forgot to mention he got a thrill from it sometimes. From that time he took his first life--granted he accidentally shot someone in the throat--there was some kind of...rush to it. He forced those thoughts down.
"Oh, I didn't think they would bother me," he answered, looking at them as she continued to dress her wounds. He nestled onto the couch, growing more comfortable. Then again he was sort of used to crashing on some girl's couch, in a sense. But that was a whole other story.

Ty nodded, understanding. "Yeah, I lived on the streets since I was...16? 18? Something like that. Picking pockets, doing what I had to do to survive. I was eventually taken in by an old lady, but I still spent my life on the street. The old lady's house was just a place to crash. From there, I learned I was a mutant, was taken to Sanctuary. I still spend most of my time out on the streets, but...I can't help it. That's my nature. Only recently did I start carrying the knife. Got into a bind where I needed one. Didn't have one."
The birthday boy stifled a yawn, lying on the couch, wary of any spiders. He looked up at the ceiling thoughtfully. "Luck rarely ever gives me a good hand. So, I learn to tuck a few extra cards up my sleeve, so to speak.

"Thanks," he answered, watching as she doctored her own wounds. Idly he sort of picked at random scabs he found. It was a weird quirk of his; he couldn't not pick at it if he found one.
"Again, thanks. I don't live too far, try right across the street, inside the aforementioned golden doors. "But honestly, I probably shouldn't be out on the street like this. Or like normal," he murmured.
Suddenly he saw the spider next to him, and another. Then he saw more with gauze(?) as he looked back. Wait...were they like the ones at the bar? He couldn't remember, but they didn't seem to bother him much as he just continued to drink his water.
"So, I take it you do this sorta thing often? The fighting I mean. The drinking and all that other stuff is none of my business. I just enjoyed the ride," he continued, taking one last sip of water and setting the now empty bottle down with a small shrug.
"I'm honestly not much of a fighter. Usually, when in a tight spot, I stab, they die, and that's generally the end of it."

"Ain't that the truth?" Ty agreed, taking another sip of water. All in all, it was turning out to be a pretty decent birthday, maybe even more-so. When she asked how he was holding up, he blinked. Oh right. Fights. Chases. Broken glass.
"I feel fine," he answered, then brushed his hair from his face, seeing a cut on his arm, and feeling...something likely from where he got punched in the face by the boxer.
"Wait...I feel fine but I'm bleeding. And do I have anything on my face?" The only really visible injury was the bruise on his left cheek. And he had blood on his pants, but that wasn't his. He had other assorted bumps and scrapes along his arms, but nothing that was all that serious.

"Thanks, just the way I like it. Unhealthy. Tastes better that way." He grinned, sort of letting the unintentional 'make me a sammich' thing fall by the wayside. He sipped his water, cautiously tasting it at first, then taking a gulp, followed by a bite of sandwich. And yes, he remembered to swallow the water first. ...Okay that was one hell of a grilled cheese. He took another bite, closing his eyes and savoring it.
"A wall? More like someone dropped a whole building on me. But hey, pretty girl gets you a drink on your 21st birthday, you don't turn it down," he said casually, shrugging, smiling lightly, then tearing into his sandwich again. In a flash, it was gone, and Ty leaned back even farther, relaxing after a good meal.
"Man...that was better than my grilled cheeses...and I make a mean grilled cheese," he complimented, taking another drink of water.

Ty chuckled lightly, following her inside. Greg...that name sounded...familiar. He nodded, figuring hey, he'd place it later. He took off his own jacket, plopping on the couch and slouching, stretching his feet under the coffee table.
"Heck, I'd settle for something as simple as a grilled cheese right now," he replied, not taking too much advantage of the whole 'whatever you name I can probably cook,' thing. Any other day it also would have occurred to him that he just asked her to make him a sandwich. Oh well. He loved grilled cheese. So sue him.
Oh right. They never mentioned names. They fought side by side--sorta, escaped a monster, shared a kiss, and they never mentioned names. Not Ty's usual route, but...hey it had a sort of mysterious feel to it. "Ty," he answered with a nod, looking around the room.

From her body language, even drunk Ty knew to be prepared for a punch in the face. But...once again Ty found himself surprised. But for once, it was one of those nice surprises. He didn't question it, just returned the kiss and enjoyed every bit of that twenty seconds. This was the sort of thing that never happened to a guy like Ty; not with his luck, anyway. And drunk or not, he knew to appreciate this.
When it broke, he smiled, following her up to her apartment. "Hee...well, though it might not've been what I had in mind, you'd already showed me a hell of a night," he replied, putting an arm around her as well.

Ty tucked the taser back into its resting place and watched the show that took place as a result of his unusually lucky maneuver. Ty chuckled, climbing off the bike as they stopped and parked, across the street from the very familiar golden doors. Hey, at least when it came time for him to head home, it wasn't very far.
The lightweight shook his ginger head at the drink comment, very quickly. "Food sounds good," he answered, following her. "Though I could really go for that kiss," Ty added. It wasn't something he just blurted because he was drunk. In fact, he would have said it sober. Only, in his current state of mind, it lacked the chuckle, and the tone that said he was obviously joking.

Ty held on for dear life as they sped off, meeting her colorful swears with a few of his own. When she told him about the gun, and shooting...he cursed again. Okay, first on the list, look on the left, and not the right. Now that he had it...
They had pretty much zero chance. If they were standing perfectly still in broad daylight, with no wind, no alcohol, and the monster wasn't rushing them...he still had about a 75% chance of missing...So now...they were pretty well screwed.
One hand still wrapped around Megan, he steadied the taser with his free hand, looking back and taking deep breaths. Well, here went nothing...
When he fired...it actually hit the creature in the face. Ty's jaw dropped, and he blinked. "Either I'm so drunk I'm delusional, or I actually hit him. In which case that's prolly the luckiest I'll get tonight," he said, not realizing he said the last part out loud.
