The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

"I didn't so much 'drop out' so much as jump off of that crapwagon," Ty answered with a chuckle. "I've found I really don't need it. Doesn't really matter to me, but if it's what floats your boat, stick with it and don't let anyone tell you otherwise. Follow your heart. Your dreams. Learn to do what's best for you, because no one else can live your life."
Ty gave a grin. "How do I live? Let's just say decently, tax free, and...less than....traditional, eh? Just remember who's money got you in here, alright?" He said, not really expecting the kid to turn him in, but if that did happen, the redhead had checked out the map, making note of the emergency exits.
Turning his attention to the displays, his facial expression showed visible disgust of the lack of mutant mention. "Place must be run by humans..." he found himself muttering, 'James' call snapping him out of it. Hesitantly, he grumbled again before following.

Ty couldn't help but give a hearty laugh. "Me? I was minding my own business. You approached me. With...very bad form, might I add. If you have to go with the brutal, straight-forward way, you'd do better to stick with the pipe. Or get a knife. Or a real gun." He shuddered at the word 'gun.' God, he hated those things. However, her not having one made him able to think quick enough to booby trap a decoy wallet--which he pocketed.
"Personally, I prefer a more...covert approach. Mugging, they throw whatever they can at you to get you off of their back and with their life in tact. But...you pick a pocket, and you have first pick of what's in the pocket." He gave a smile.
"Of course, my mutation helps alot when it comes to checking authenticity, or to deter the thief who thinks it takes one to rob one." Putting his gloves back on, he gave her a nod. "Nonetheless. Ty Fisher. Pleasure to meet you." Well, it was more amusing than a pleasure, but he was trying to be polite. After all, if he had his way, pipe vs. knife would have to wait. Forever, hopefully.

"The past? I got two things to learn from that. One, if you screw up, don't do it again. Two, leave it behind ya. The end," he replied, dropping the subject there. "I probably don't. When I turned sixteen, I just quit going to school. One less thing for me to deal with." He shrugged, then chuckled a little.
"Dinosaurs, huh? Let's go." Yep, hanging with this kid was looking to be a good decision.

Ty was snapped from his daze when some chick barked an order, and it was all he could do to keep himself from smiling. Really? She was going the direct route, with the gun in the pocket trick? Who even did that? If it was a real gun, she'd shoot a hole through her pocket, and since she was trying to rob him, it was likely she didn't have a whole wardrobe full of identical clothing. The pipe was a different story.
Had she been male, she would have likely had to see if her and the pipe could stand against him and his 13-inch stilleto. But hurting women went against his moral code. So, maybe he'd have a little fun with her. Then show her a thing or two about stealing if she asked nicely. "You know, you don't have to do it this way," Ty said, putting a little shake in his voice as he slipped off his gloves and reached for his wallet. With the wallet in his hand, and where she could see it, he held it out to her.
In the meantime, he was focusing hard to channel his gift. His eyes glowed red for a moment as he laid the trap, which would trigger as soon as she grabbed his wallet.
~All this vision entailed of was about thirty to forty seconds of Ty stealthily picking pockets. Wallets, loose money, and even the occasional annoying pocket watch.~
After writing the mental silent movie, Ty was only slightly queasy because it was a short one, and when his would-be-mugger got finished reading it, she'd have a slight headache, and Ty would be standing there for her to realize not only what had happened, but that the wallet he gave her wasn't exactly his.
"You've got a bit to learn, I see. First and foremost being, the best mark for a thief, is never another thief."

"School?" Ty chuckled. "That makes it worse, don't it?" For some reason, when it came to the younger crowd, Ty never thought to offer his hand to them. Then again, maybe having his handshake denied so many times made him less apt to offer it. New York was weird, even after all these years. But it was home.
"Me? Eh, thought I'd indulge my inner history-nut today. Been too long since I've just relaxed or done anything...productive with my free time." After handing his ticket to the lady and getting farther out of earshot from anyone, he added quietly, "Or since I paid to get into anywhere." The way he said it was more or less a joke, but even still, James was about to try the same thing.
He'd opted to leave out his curiosity. If he could get his hands on some ancient artifact, what would that open up to him? Could he even handle the consequences? Thinking about using his mutation on something that old brought back something he hadn't felt towards his power in a long time: fear.
He shook himself out of his daze and continued walking, making sure James was nearby. He didn't know why; usually he'd have gone on his own way by now.

Ty handed the kid the ticket, chuckling a little. "I know I didn't, but something about ya reminds me of...well, a young me. Alone in the city, unsupervised, shirking responsibility, likely looking for mischief..." Aside from his wallet, he had on a black tee shirt, faded blue jeans, his favorite black sneakers laced with green laces, and his black fingerless gloves, lined with silver-colored studs towards the wrist.
"I admit, in retrospect, I should've let you try your way first. That would have probably saved me a little money, anyway. But ah well. You can call me Ty, by the way."

Heh, whatever this kid was doing, Ty had to admit he approved. Of course, the kid was wrong in thinking the ginger was a tourist or a hobo. Granted, even after spending years in New York, his Southern accent and attitude never really left him. Nonetheless, he seemed like a rather interesting young fellow, didn't he?
Ty had to admit he was curious as he walked into the museum behind the boy.He studied the kid--well, more or less his belongings. Something Ty could use his mutation on to find out what this kid was up to. Sure, it was weird, but it wasn't every day people threw gloves and safety harnesses in the trash like that. Walking past the boy, he slapped some money on the counter.
"For me and the kid there," he said casually, knowing all too well what the boy was doing. From Ty's expertise, the body language gave it away. Maybe something good could come of this. Maybe this kid just needed a mentor. Someone to help hone his skills, much like Ty had when he was around that age...

Curse summer daylight. It reminded Ty why he was usually out at night, and generally stayed inside during the day. Well...that and most of what he did was better done under cover of darkness, but that really didn't matter. What did matter was that Ty was awake, doped up on caffeine, and outside in this accursed heat.
He figured since he was up, he may as well make some use of his day, so the ginger found himself on the way to the museum. It'd been awhile since he'd been somewhere like a library or a museum, or anywhere that expounded on his love of reading and all things historic. Then again, a life of crime could do that to a guy. As he thought about where he was going, he chuckled. Been awhile since he paid to go anywhere. But it was for a good cause.
As he reached the front door, he suddenly had a thought. What if he'd used his power on something in the museum? Well...one of two things. Either the sheer age of the object would likely throw him into a coma, oooor he'd see the life story of a replica. ...Neither of those ideas sounded very fun. Except part of the first one...if he survived the transfer of memory, he could possess unfathomable knowledge of history. Oh the possibilities...
He snapped out of it when he heard something being tossed into a trash can next to him, and it made him jump slightly. "Heh...what's with you? Ditchin' out on community service?"

"Heh...Broad daylight? I pick pockets and jack cars in broad daylight. But knock off a build a bear? I'm not that ballsy..." Standing up, he looked at her with a smile. Sometimes he just wanted to do nothing but hold her close and kiss her, but that wasn't Tses's style. He was finally understanding that the little firecracker was more like a cat; he knew she loved him, but she showed the affection on her own terms. It really didn't bother him too much anymore. After all, their relationship wasn't completely void of romance, it was just different.
Finally, he snapped out of his little daze and made his way to the kitchen, pulling out the steaks and putting them on the pan. Maybe depending on how their plans went, they'd at least get to end on a sweet note. Even still...they'd come a long way; Ty had at least been promoted to sharing her bed instead of sleeping on the couch. He set the steaks on two separate plates, placing those on the table.
"Steaks are up," he called. Sometimes he wondered what it was like for her. How emotions...felt under that wall she'd put up. Too bad his mutation didn't work that way.
"I love you," he said casually, adding a "What do ya want to drink?" after the short pause. Eh, maybe he got away with it.

Once again, a certain red-headed trouble-maker found himself outside long after the navy-blue aura of night covered the city. Clouds covered the moon, not that it really mattered. The calming summer air was...peaceful, tranquil.
Cars lined the sidewalks wherever Ty looked, and yet none of them were being hotwired. There was loot to be found, ripe for the picking, be it in stores or elsewhere, and yet tonight, it was safe. Pockets were begging to be picked. And yet the young man's gloved hands remained in the pockets of his own jeans.
Sure, Ty usually found himself restless and out after dark. But tonight was...different. There was to be no trouble-making or mischief on his part tonight. No, tonight was just a night of peace and relaxation. Turning into a dark alley, he leaned against a wall, almost drifting off as he let his mind wander. One day soon he and Tses needed to chill out perched on rooftops together again. He still needed to train his fighting skills. Maybe he should get a few more tattoos...

When she made the face, Ty was tempted to tell her he was being sarcastic about the spirt of love thing. Mostly. Ish. He gave a grin at her question.
"Honestly, we don't need either. I was thinking we nab some money, and maybe I steal you a nice sentiment to go with your collection. If not, then we can always hit up a candy store for its money and it's merchandise? Either would have to be a night-time score though." He let out a soft chuckle as a thought crossed his mind. "Gotta admit though, this way's much more fun than the way most people spend this crappy holiday." Pausing to give her a quick kiss on the mouth, he went back to his planning with a smirk.

Ty nodded, understanding as he listened, when suddenly, something hit him. He'd never mentioned exactly what he'd been helping a private investigator with, and few people knew of that fiasco. A smirk crossed Ty's face; he'd found the missing piece of the puzzle. Of course, this was long after he'd thrown the rest of the puzzle into the proverbial trash can, so it really didn't matter now. What did matter was...this guy was good, so jerk or not, he was an ally worth having.
The young man gave a slight chuckle. "I guess I would owe you that one," he answered. He'd figured beforehand that a moving subway was a terrible idea because you have nowhere to go on the off chance things go awry. But before he could pick a target to nab for when they reached their destination, he was instructed not to. "Okay then," he answered, looking around. For now, the Fish waited until they reached a suitable pond.

Ty wasn't really one for planning; heck, plans weren't his strong point. But today...and Tses...totally worth it. Ty thought a moment, scratching his chin. Then, he smirked, a mysterious twinkle in his eye.
"Let's do something in celebration of the 'holiday,'" he started, complete with air-quotes. "Something in the spirit of love, but...our way." Their way not necessarily ending the night like most couples do, to say the least. "Let's knock off a Build-a-Bear..."

Ty bit his lip as the silence settled in. Then, Roach started talking, and the ginger found himself somewhat missing the ominous silence. "Yeah, I failed you, I get that." He sighed as Roach spoke again. "I didn't mean you as a paycheck source...you're...complicated," He paused after that, then let out another sigh, leaning against the counter.
"Yes, you're my boss, but you taught me everything I know. Gave me something when I had nothing. I owe you for that, but...you gave me the one job I couldn't do. And...she isn't like me. I can't decide for her." He paused again, eying Roach but somewhat moving over so he was closer to the bedroom door.

Something's about to go down.
A hyper-intelligent, and well-informed mutant, known only as Protocol, has a dastardly plan up his sleeve; one that will bring New York to its knees, and assert mutants as the authority--or so he says. Really, he wants the power for himself, but that will be addressed later on.
But Protocol knows a chess game isn't won with a single piece, so he recruits a team, promising them money, power...whatever their poison is.
This plan has a number of Parts, which I will address one by one. Note: This idea is incomplete as of yet, so feedback and ideas are welcome.
The Main Objective: To eliminate and replace the city's(maybe even the state's) governing authority.
Stage One: Teambuilding. The team will consist of a handfull of mutants, probably about 4 or 5, maybe a few more. Each member will have their own role on the team. This list will be built once jobs needed and/or team members themselves are sorted out.
1. Ty--"The Cipher"--His ability to write onto objects is his primary use for this team; but his ability to read objects, and his skill as a thief will also prove useful.
Stage Two: The Distraction, and main focus of this plot. Word will reach far and wide of a treasure hidden somewhere in the city, the only clues being in the form of silent, mental messages on objects. Once found, the message cannot be 're-read,' and each clue leads to the next one. On top of this, coded articles relating to this quest will appear in the local newspapers, even on TV. News of a great scavenger hunt for riches untold that will attract hunters from everywhere.
The commotion will drive the law into controlling this chaos, while humans and mutants alike battle for the greatest treasure ever heard of.
Stage Three: The Heist: Meanwhile, the team is going after their real objective while everyone else is preoccupied with the treasure. Files on elected officials will be stolen, Security guards will need to be taken out, elected officials will have to be killed, and new ones will be put in place.
Stage Four: The Finale: Somehow, we will end it.
For now, this is all I have, as this idea was just born in the cbox. But any and all feedback is accepted, and by all means let me know if you're interested.
EDIT: Added more detail to the objective and stage 3. This plan doesn't have to go without a hitch--in fact, what fun would it be if it didn't have any opposition? Whether it succeeds is up in the air, but it's supposed to be epic for everyone~
