The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

"Well, Babe is a step up from what I usually get called," he answered with a soft smile. For some reason, it really didn't bother him that she was witholding her name. Hell, the air of mystery made her that much more attractive.
"Oh, you've got nothin' to worry about, there. I've got a strict policy when it comes to cars." But he gladly accepted the offer, walking around to the other side of the car and climbing in, carefully shutting the door behind him. Then, as always, he buckled his seat belt.
By now, he was quite relaxed. It'd been too long since he'd had this kind of playful interaction. Granted, part of him thought this seemed a little too easy. Meanwhile the other part told him he should just enjoy it while he could, and whatever happened, happened.
And a third part of him wondered why the rest of him couldn't avcept the fact that maybe, just maybe, his Southern charm was actually working for him.

Well, damn. Ty was more than a little surprised when she pulled out a gun and shot in the attacker's direction as he was leaving. He then noted that it would be a good idea not to insinuate things like that when it came to his new...er...friend? He chuckled, full aware that this could take care of herself. He wasn't too big on the idea of guns, but it honestly wasn't any of his business if anyone else used one.
"Well," he said after a moment, "This is the big leagues compared to my usual bit of roaming the park or the streets to pay rent. So in that sense, it's big league pay." He gave a mild shrug as he got more comfortable, relaxing now that the rush of adrenaline was easing off.
She wasn't saying anything about his method of running off the attacker, and he figured it was for the best. He just made it a point not to use his abilities on her(unless the situation specifically called for that.) But as far as getting to know her, or seeing her without a shirt on...well, that, he'd have to try to do the old fashioned way.
"So," he said, shattering the silence, "I never got your name. Or would you settle for Darlin'?" he asked, a sly grin forming on his lips.

Ty chuckled. "Wouldn't know. I only steal from men. Granted, you being here more than likely made my job a lot easier," he complimented, shaking his head at the offer to light up.
"Thanks for the feedback. I usually only stick to more...I guess you'd say innocent...grounds. But I figured after all these years in the minors, I should step up to the big leagues at some point."
"Well, you made it, punk." Ty turned to the source of the voice and crap it was his friend from before.
"Hey, buddy~" Ty said, his voice over the top and almost cartoon-like. No matter where he went, or how long he stayed, that thick Southern Georgia accent never left his voice. Not that he had any problems with that. "How's your head?"
"Very funny...I don't know what the **** you did to me back there, but you're gonna pay. With interest. I think you're girlfriend over there'll do nicely."
The guy stood a few inches taller than Ty, maybe thirty or so pounds heavier, but Ty didn't spend the last year in Kansas just pounding beers and meeting women(as much as he would have loved that...)
The guy threw a punch, but Ty was too quick, he caught the arm, using the guy's momentum to bring him down and give him a face full of asphalt. He put his free hand on the guy's back, putting some pressure on the arm. Focusing, he didn't let go of his grip as he seemed to freeze for a good minute. Of course, this gave the guy plenty of time to break free, but Ty was smirking.
"What's the matter, Jim? Sad a little runt like me just took you down? Or is it finally getting to you that the drinking and gambling habit finally drove your wife to leaving you?"
The guy was pissed, but he was in utter shock. "How the hell did you--"
"Let's just say...I'm psychic. That little thing I did back there with the headache? Nothing compared to what I can do."
"You sonofa--"
"Dude, now's the part in every movie ever where you agree to turn your life around, give me a hug, and walk away into the distance."
The guy stared him down. "You really gunna make my head explode?" He tried to sound threatening, but Ty was on top here, and it was obvious. However, just in case, he had his right hand close to his side, near the stiletto he kept concealed under his shirt.
"You're the gambler. Am I bluffing?"
The guy swallowed a moment, then turned and cut his losses. And Ty turned back to the girl in question.
"Sorry about that. Where were we?" He smiled, a mischievous twinkle in his eye.

"Yeah, I realize that," he murmured. Taking a breath, Ty repeated after Noel, word for word, and this time, it was a promise he intended to keep, no matter what. After the little oath was finished, Noel pulled out her phone and started typing something. It was probably a warning that he was prone to running away or something like that.
"Well, I'm at least feeling better now," he said, smiling softly. "Thanks. For everything." Well, that wasn't so bad. Now she knew basically the whole story, and she still didn't hate him. But something told him at least one of the other two wouldn't be so forgiving.
"So, you still up for the park?" he asked, sort of a hopeful, puppy-dog like look in his eyes.

"Eh, I know teenagers," he replied with a shrug. "They tend to take a kick in the pants in order to get through their thick skulls so the lesson'll stick."
Giving a warm smile, he relaxed considerably. "Nah, not too bad. Though, I really could've taken 'em easily, despite my frame. I didn't mind helping. Besides, I just get tired of people being stupid. Mutants aren't exactly a new phenomena. Get used to it, ya know?" He looked her over; her visible mutation was rather interesting.
"Well, despite that little adventure, I'm still taking a free day. Sorta, chill. Relax, that sorta thing. You're welcome to hang, if you want."

"We've been through more together than you know. Once, I didn't have anybody...except you. I don't want to leave...but it's always my first instinct..." he sighed as his voice trailed off. "I don't want to lose the ones I love, and instead...I drive them away." Ty shook his head, giving a dry laugh.
"Yeah...I'm surprised it worked as long as it did, but...I'm by no means proud of it. Nor will I do that to you again." Biting his lip, he finally managed to calm down. "Yeah...I saw my name. It...well, it was quite the wake-up call. I don't know why I feel this need to do things on my own...because, I never really had to." If he trusted the people who loved him in the first place, maybe he wouldn't find himself in half of the messes he did.
"I can't undo the past...but my main reason for coming back was to face the music, and to try to make amends with those I'd hurt by being stupid."

"It's not that easy," Ty finally spoke, breathing deeply through his nose. "There are only three people I consider family that are still living, and each life was threatened when I botched that job, okay? I don't know HOW to reach two of them...Tses probably wants me dead for this stunt anyway, Chloe probably thinks I'm dead, and the third is you. I know. I ****ed up. Bigtime..."
The ginger took a deep breath, looking off into the horizon. "I thought by leaving town I was saving everyone. But maybe I was just trying to save myself. I don't KNOW what to do from here, where it goes now. That's kinda why I pretended to be Phil on the fly."
He brushed a tear from his face. "Maybe I just need to face the facts. I'm past the point of no return this time. Thanks for lunch, though."

Ty braced himself for the punch in the face; he knew of all places it was actually a good place to be, hit. Not so much to hit someone in the face, as it could hurt your--
He found the wind suddenly knocked out of him, and he doubled over, short of breath. Well...that could have ended a lot better. And here he was, back at square freaking one.
"I don't know..." he gasped, tears coming to his eyes for a multitude of reasons. "I never even met this Phil...I just...saw the opportunity and ran with it. I...I needed someone to talk to, but I was afraid if I said it was me, well...that this would happen."
After his story, all she'd heard was that he wasn't Phil. But he had to admit, he deserved every bit of it.
"I'm sorry I did that, but...forget it...I never should have bothered you." He could have walked away--should have, anyway, but he was still reeling. Noel had a pretty powerful knee...

Ty smiled, nodding as he drew closer, however still making sure to stay a comfortable distance away from her. No need to get creepy, now. You know, because stalking a girl you thought was hot out to a parking lot totally didn't qualify as creepy... Oh well, it was too late now. Besides, he didn't go into this expecting to meet anyone. And furthermore, he was merely admiring her work. And besides, he didn't know she'd be out here. He was just trying to get away from a big guy who now had a massive headache.
Right.
"Yeah, I was," he replied, stopping his approach when he was just beyond arms' length. "Couldn't help but admire you back there. Real clean, smooth. You can call me Ty," he said, still somewhat paranoid; though he was sure the guy who almost caught him wasn't remotely going to come this way.

Ty sighed; she was so direct, and that made it hard to lie and not be detected. Besides, this was so...horrible. He wanted to punch himself for even doing this in the first place.
"I can't do this anymore, anyway. You want me to cut the crap? Fine, I do too..." he said, his voice shaking a little as he leaned against a wall.
"A year ago. It was supposed to be a simple job. I break in, steal some important information, get out, and get paid. End of story. Only, it wasn't that simple. In the process, I got caught. Almost as if they were expecting me. Parts of it are a blur to this day, but I distinctly remember the ones I love most being threatened. So...to save them...I ran away. Didn't tell anyone where I was going. I laid low in Kansas for until a few days ago. I came back...to make things right...By the way...I'm not Phil..." his voice trailed off, as he felt his entire body shaking with adrenaline and fear at this point.

"Maybe I beat down annoying punk teenagers for fun," Ty replied to the kids, still with a stern look on his face and not slacking from his stance. When the mutant spoke, Ty listened, trying not to smirk because he was pretty sure she was exaggerating just a little, but it was still a lesson worth learning.
"And you wanna know why my eyes glow red?" By that point, the little brats were tripping over each other, as well as a few unintentional unfortunate bystanders who just happened to be within earshot. Ty chuckled to himself, then turned to the girl.
"You alright?" he asked, extending his hand to shake. "I'm Ty."

Ty chuckled, somewhat thankful Noel wasn't really the type to pry. He just...felt bad for what he'd done, and worse for what he was having to do now to make up for what he'd done in the first place. First he leaves her, now he's taking advantage of her...This is why he'd left in the first place; he was just too weak. Not strong enough to handle it on his own.
I'm gonna make it through this, regardless. And I'll be damned if I lose the one friend I have in the process. If this is what it takes..this is what it takes.
"Yeah, the smaller, more private one sounds nice. Even if it is more of a walk. I can handle it if you can," he teased, giving her a playful wink as he started walking.
Man, his mind was a roller coaster today. One minute he was up, then he was down, then he didn't know which way he was...

Ty loved the park; any time of day, any time of the year. It was so peaceful, so close to nature, and not to mention one of his favorite stomping grounds when it came to picking pockets. But there was to be none of that today; he was taking a personal day off from robbing, car-theft, and all around mischief-making.
Well, those were his intentions, anyway. As he was walking, he heard some teenagers not far away making trouble, and it didn't take him long to figure out what the fuss was about. Nearby was a girl, obviously a mutant. And they were teasing her. At this point, his moral instinct kicked in, and he walked more briskly, positioning himself so he was in the boys' direct line of sight. Putting his hand in his pants pocket, he let his palm touch the only thing in it: his blade. Gripping the handle, he began to 'write' random memories on it. It wasn't to booby trap the knife, by no means. As always, his eyes glowed red when using this aspect of his power.
"Got a problem with mutants, boys?" he threatened, taking a fighting stance and ignoring the passing phase of nausea as his eyes returned to normal. Briefly, he glanced behind him to check on the girl they were terrorizing.

"Oh, I get sunburn, bad. I'll fry under a fluorescent light, but right now, I'd call it a step up," Ty replied with a small chuckle as he finished his pizza and his drink. "True. There's just something about nature that helps one feel better."
Giving her a soft smile, he stood to his feet, leading the way outside. He took another breath of fresh air, his mind wandering to the not-so-pleasant things that had been haunting him to this point.
He thought about all the people he'd hurt despite thinking he was saving them at the time. Especially Noel, at this point, since she was the only one he'd run into so far. It was obvious to him that she knew something was up, but couldn't pinpoint what, exactly. Granted, it was her not remembering that made this possible. Otherwise, she'd probably never want to see him.
He wanted to tell her he was sorry. He wanted to explain everything. But he couldn't. Not now. Maybe not ever...

Ty blinked when she called him by name alias, then looked at her sideways when she posed the question. "Cancer? Oh no, it's nothing like that." Well, his guilt was eating him alive, much like a cancer, but...
"I've just got some things on my mind. Personal issues I'm having to deal with...nothing health related; no cancer."
As far as the park...Ty just loved the park. It was quiet; it was the only piece of nature in New York City, really. And it was where he honed his craft as a pickpocket. It was a very sentimental location for him.
"Yeah, I just enjoy walking through the park. A nice break from the hustle and bustle of the city, without having to leave the city." Ty chuckled, then murmured, perhaps too loudly...
"I thought I'd have gotten enough of nature in Kansas..."
