The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

And the ball was volleyed right back into his court, and he had to chuckle. At least their chemistry seemed to be good, anyway. Well, maybe it was time for a little gamble. After all this, what was the worst that could happen, right?
"Well, I kinda gathered that you didn't care so much for the atmosphere downstairs. Actually glad Bruno came through with that favor or we might not have lasted this long," Ty answered with a nervous chuckle.
"Well...I live like three blocks over. Nothing...extravagant, but it'd be just the two of us. And I'm probably paying per month what it costs to get this room for a night, heh." He shrugged as he took her hand and stood up.
"So, that sound like a good idea, or back to the drawing board?" Granted, if she said no, that would put the ball back in her court, and he didn't think she'd want to stand here lobbing "what do you wanna do"s back and forth.

The silence, Ty deemed, wasn't good. But at least things seemed to be improving. He breathed deeply, fighting the urge to find for himself what exactly caused this breakdown, detail for detail. And yet, being the man that he was, he didn't. Starting now, he was going to honor all of his promises. So, he just held her gingerly, giving her time to calm down and maybe end this dreaded silence.
But it didn't end, so Ty finally broke it. "You okay now?" he asked, albeit somewhat more timidly than he'd expected. But at least nothing blew up, right? Then again...if that storm...or whatever it was...had to do with her mutation...it could very well be just as bad if not worse than things exploding.
He took some more breaths, dying to break this awkward silence without making things even more awkward. And maybe he was enjoying holding her a little too much. He'd missed this kind of closeness. Even if they had just met.
The silence was finally broken, but not in the way Ty hoped. Bruno's deep voice shattered the calming atmosphere. "Hey, kids. Don't shoot the messenger, but the time on the room's up. Hope ya had fun, but I've gotta clear you out now."
"Thanks, Bruno," Ty answered, then turned back to Mag with a shrug. "So, where to now?"

Ty listened as she spoke, now glad he let her tell him herself what was eating her. He hated finding things like that out via his mutation. When lightning struck, Ty jumped as well, but he caught the woman and pulled her close, just holding her tight in an effort to comfort her.
"It's going to be okay," he murmured softly, rubbing her back. "**** happens, and I'd love to change the past as much as anybody." He sighed softly. "All I can say is be strong, and if you ever need anything, I'm never far."
His mind was racing, and he wasn't sure he was helping this any. He just held her, as if being in his arms suddenly made her safe. But it didn't. He knew it didn't. But he just wanted to be there for her, like he'd failed to be there for anybody else.

Perfect...Then again, what did Ty expect from a dragon? No less than being a condescending asshole, he assumed. But then again, what was expected of him? He was weak, useless. Every time the opportunity came for him to do something great and badass, he turned tail and ran.
"I've made the connections, and I understand perfectly," he replied calmly, his demeanor changing to one of complete and total seriousness.
Maybe it was better this way. They'd see him as stupid and worthless now, but that gave him nowhere to go but up. After all, did he expect working from the bottom to be easy? No. He'd start as just a mere nobody. But once he got back on his feet, he was going to do something. Ty Fisher would be somebody...

Ty sat down next to her, putting his arm around her as he could hear signs of a storm brewing, but his focus was on the woman next to him. He didn't know what else to do, so he just held her there. He nodded slowly.
"Yeah...I have. I still do, now that I think about it," he said simply. "But I haven't lost anyone like that. None except Tses...The one I mentioned earlier..." he sighed deeply, his mind trying to figure out which way to go.
"Then, there's Chloe. My little sister. Until a couple years or so ago, I didn't even know I had a sister. But after meeting her...I felt...protective. Like I'd do anything to keep her safe, and I still would. I don't know what I'd do if something happened to her. In that sense, I think I know how you feel."
He could have known how she felt, but he'd already made a personal vow not to use his power on this woman without consent or probable cause. And neither one of those had come along yet.

"Was a runner," Ty corrected politely, but then, things got...well, weird. Up til this point, Mag was just fine with Ty bringing her drinks when she asked for them. Now, she was standing over the mini-bar, and...was she shaking? He couldn't quite tell, but she seemed...off now. And he could tell she was preparing to hit the booze pretty hard.
Standing up, he made his way to the mini bar, and putting his hand on her shoulder. "Hey," he said softly. "I'm here if you need anything." He wasn't sure how much help this would be, but he was making himself available nonetheless. She'd been there for him already, so now it was time for him to return the favor.
"You don't have to talk about it if you don't want to, but I'm here for you, regardless." His voice was calm and steady, almost soothing as he moved to stand beside her. He seemed sort of iffy about touching her at first, but considering what he'd been through with Tses in the past, it was very understandable. He just hoped Mag didn't have the power to make anything explode...

Ty let out another sigh, sipping on his drink. "Well, she was...volatile, to say the least, but I loved her with every fiber of my being, he began, a smile on his face but tears welling up un his eyes.
"Neither one of us were what you'd call innocent. Trouble seemed to follow us. But I had a nasty habit of running when the stakes were high. A year ago, I took the wrong job--and let's leave it at that, for all our sakes. I felt that I and everyone I was close to was in danger, so...I left. I'd thought it was to protect her, but now...I don't even know anymore. So...here I am."
He sat back in his chair, regaining his composure and sighing again. He finished his drink, then opted to cut himself off after that. To an extent, it helped to open up just a little. But he'd never open up completely. To anyone. Some things were best kept locked up.

Ty knew that everything had to die, but he chose to ignore that part for now. Making his way to the included minibar, he poured her a glass of whiskey then sat back down.
Then...the million dollar question.
He sighed deeply, fighting to stay strong. "My love for this place has nothing to do with it being a mutant bar. This is a safe place to me. Somewhere that...I feel I can't screw up."
He paused, sipping his drink again. "Actually, you're the first. No one I've been with has seen this place. I just felt you could use a breather as much as I did. Besides...none of my relationships have lived through the night. And the one that actually might coulda made it...I screwed up."
He sighed again, his eyes meeting hers. One look at his face would show that he was hiding something big. Something dark...

"Having someone puts their life in danger...."
Those words echoed and swarmed around in his head like a nest of hornets. It gripped his very soul to the core.
"And that," he said with a slight shake to his voice, "is why I'm here today...you can't protect everyone all the time. I guess just...find someone you trust can protect themselves..."
That was when it clicked for him. He couldn't change the past, but he could affect the future. He knocked back his rum, savoring the flavor and the feeling it brought him.
"Wolves don't hang around with chickens. The powerful surround themselves with powerful allies. That's how the pack lives on." He spoke his revelation out loud, a smile coming to his face. That was the secret.

As she spoke, Ty soaked in every word as he enjoyed the change in atmosphere. They really weren't so different.
"Yeah, me too. The car theft, cop chases, even getting caught while stealing...it was all for the rush."
He let out a sigh, remembering things that had been. But he couldn't talk about it. And what he could talk about, he didn't want to. He was only here right now because he'd turned his back on those he loved out of fear.
Good thing Mag's eyes were closed, because his facade of being in control was gone.
"Sometimes, it's good to have someone. Others, it isn't. The trick is finding that....balance." That was a trick Ty hunself had yet to learn.

Okay, so now it was just the two of them, and Ty felt his southern charm had worn thin. So here he was, grasping at straws and still trying to keep up the facade that he had everything under control, though by now it was probably obvious that it wasn't. He didn't mind her clinging to him--it was a start--but now that it was over and they were separate beings again. But now, she seemed even more on edge.
Well, maybe this was a start. Hearing her request, he stuck his head out the door, waving for one of the VIP room's servers. After chatting with him for a minute, there was a moment of waiting. When Ty came back, he had another rum and cola(This time he may or may not have had them hold the cola,) and a drink for her. He held it out to her, taking a sip from his own. "Here ya go," he offered with a small smile.
"Not gunna lie. Bruno kinda scares me, but he's a teddy bear, unless you mess up the bar or start a fight or somethin' like that. But hey, here, you can control the lights, music...everything. So if this isn't your style, you can adjust it here."
Maybe he was trying too hard to win her over, so by now, he relaxed again, reverting to what had gotten her to offer him a ride in the first place. He relaxed considerably, and he was just...himself. Even if those two things were the hardest two things to do as of late.
"So," he said as he slid into a seat closest to her, "What's your idea of a good time? I'm a simpler being who likes to sit around, drinking and listening to loud rock music, but....well that's not for everyone." He chuckled softly, interested in her answer.

The bartender gave a nod, smiling at the two of them before fixing the drinks, occasionally adding a little flair. At this point, she began getting more and more orders. Too many for a normal person with two arms to handle, as she sat down the pair of drinks, she gave a smirk at the crowd.
Suddenly, the gorgeous bartender sprouted another pair of arms, just under the originals, and began mixing several drinks at once. Ty was more than a little surprised at this. "She wasn't here last time I came," Ty explained. "Used to be a guy who could breathe colored fire." The ginger kept up the confident facade as the night drew on, and he juggled focus between his company and his drink. Though he didn't show it, he was a little worried; it didn't take a psychic to tell he was losing her.
Then again, he did seem to have a habit of picking up the harder to get ones, didn't he? At that point, the pair would feel a massive hand on their respective shoulders, and Ty's icy blue eyes to meet Bruno, his pale grey skin reflecting the green light.
"Got a treat for you two," the soft yet gruff voice of the mutant bouncer rang out. "Sort of a welcome back." He led the pair across the club and down a hall, up a set of stairs, and to a smaller, yet better lit room with a view of the club. It had a few booths, which were all empty, and its own dance floor, which was also empty. From this room, one couldn't hear the pounding music of the club below. In fact, it had its own sound system, with a digital jukebox in the corner.
"VIP room. Had a last minute cancellation, so I thought I'd treat my old friend in the hopes he'd come back sometime. Drinks are included, and you'll be well taken care of."
"Thanks, man. I owe ya."
The giant smiled as he turned to leave. This was great, but at the same time... maybe a little awkward.

Ty sat up in a cold sweat, shaking and shivering as the shadows of his apartment seemed to merge and close in on him. He'd had nightmares before, but what he'd had over the past year or so were far worse than mere bad dreams. Every night, he was forced to see the same thing over and over again.
Once he'd calmed down enough, he forced himself out of bed and grabbed a bottle of beer from the fridge, turning on the light. He caught view of himself in the mirror; in nothing but a pair of forest green boxer-briefs. His body was more defined and muscular now, but still each and every tattoo that covered his body was in view. Each tattoo represented another person; a different part of Ty's life. And each one, a portion of his life that he'd betrayed. Sitting on the couch, he turned up his beer, wishing he could turn back time and make things different.
It was supposed to be a quick in-and-out job. Faust Pharmaceuticals. Get what you need and get out. Getting in, that was the easy part. At least for someone like Ty, it was, anyway. But once he got in...it went to hell.
As he sat there, staring at nothing, he was trapped in his own thoughts. Everything he'd seen, from the testing, to hearing every scream. Even in retrospect, it was too much. The things that happened to mutants in that place...he was unable to tell anyone, much less use his power to show them.
It was so horrible, so graphic, that if he absolutely had to explain himself, he'd say he was caught before he got all the way in. Say he was threatened. But...that was far from the truth.
And then, he saw her face in person; the one he'd seen in his flashbacks. It was enough to make him want to just disappear. Because he knew he could very well be one of those dissected, researched, tested...or worse...those he loved.
So...he escaped. He ran out of the building as fast as he could, and he just...kept going. Hopped the nearest bus to anywhere. But no matter how far he went, his memories haunted him the entirety of the trip.

The venue of Ty's choosing was several blocks away; on foot, it would have taken awhile, but by car...well, it was New York, so the ETA may have still been a little sketchy. As mentioned before, it wasn't the most jumping place in the city, but it was enjoying moderate success. The outside of the building wasn't overly flashy: blacked out windows, and a green-lit tiger on the sign.
Leading Magnum inside--and he had to admit, that was a pretty awesome, and fitting name for her--he was very abruptly met by a rather large bouncer, who was easily seven feet tall, and built like an armored car.
"IDs." The voice was quiet, but still intimidating, as Ty dug into his wallet and brought his card.
"Here ya go, Bruno."
"Hey, Fishy!" The mountain of a bouncer perked up. "Long time no see! You cut your hair though. Eh, I'm not your Ma, so go have fun."
Ty smirked, giving Bruno a friendly nod as he led her through the dominantly green-lit room, as wailing guitars, thumping basses, and pounding drums flooded through the speakers.
Once at the bar, the duo was met by a blonde sporting black leather and a pair of purple glasses.
"What can I get you, Hun?" "I'll have a rum and cola, and whatever she wants," he motioned to Mag. "My treat."

Ty wasnt exactly a hick; he was southern enough to be charming, polite, and gentlemanly, but at the same time, he lived more by his own code than any legislation's laws.
"Oh, it's just a personal rule of mine," he explained, leaving the subject at that for now. After all, most times he was in a car, cops were in pursuit. And the car was stolen. Maybe if she stuck around long enough, she'd learn about Ty's moral code. But for now, he was only showing his hand one card at a time.
And then she put control in his lap. "I know a place not far from here. The Jade Tiger. Food, drinks, dancing, something for everyone," His answer was simple enough, and yet unless she'd been there before, she wouldn't know much until she got there.
It wasn't the most popular joint, but it was a decent atmosphere, and played more rock and metal as opposed to electronic and dance-beats.
He looked out the window, occasionally stealing a glance at her as he awaited a response.
