The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

Ty's mind was obviously preoccupied with the woman who practically had a gravitational pull on his attention; like she was the magnet and he was a piece of iron. However, it wasn't just her looks(and she was quite easy on the eyes), but it was mostly the skill and the methods at which she stole. She had them eating out of the palm of her hand, and then looked them in the eyes and robbed them. It was just as impressive--if not more impressive, to him--than her figure.
Carefully, he tried to pick another mark's pocket, ripe with cash.
"Hey! You little..." A hand grabbed at Ty's shirt, but Ty had his own trick that helped him out of a bind. Unlike the girl, he didn't have a sultry figure or eyelashes to effectively bat. But what he did have, was a unique mutation. His shirt was booby trapped. As soon as the man grabbed it, he was assaulted with a flurry of mental images, giving Ty roughly thirty seconds to get away. And get away, he did. Disappearing into the shadows, he weaved through the crowd and obstacles, to the parking lot not far from there.
Looks like the redhead rogue's fun was over, but he'd made out with a substantial profit for the evening. And his bones were still in tact, which was a plus. Taking a deep breath, he placed the palm of his hand on his shirt, and his eyes glowed red, lighting up the parking lot as he reset the booby trap on his shirt.
At that moment, not far away, he saw her. The girl he'd been stalking admiring all night. Being Ty, he decided to take the chance. Ty ALWAYS took the chance.
He walked over to her, giving a friendly wave. "Nice work out there," he commented casually. Occasionally, he still glanced over his shoulder; he knew he'd have company looking for him soon. But hey, if he did, Ty knew how to handle himself now.
Besides, why pass up the chance to talk to someone like this?

"I'll be fine," Ty finally replied. "Just a little choked up." Again, it wasn't a lie; to this point it was all true, he was just being very careful as to how much information he gave out. And, the longer it went, the harder he found it. But he couldn't bring himself to bow out. She was the only friend he had right now, and...the time together felt good.
"Hanging out would be nice," he said softly. Being with her brought back memories; good, bad and otherwise, but he was clinging to the good ones. Was this going to end badly? Probably, but he didn't care.
Ty never cared about things like this, he rarely thought things through. But wasn't this how he usually got in these stupid messes? (Like the one he was in now for having fled to freaking Kansas?) Yep. But some things never changed.
"I kinda wanna go to the park. I've always loved just enjoying the small percentage of the city that's nature, ya know?" He cracked a grin, bringing his mind back to the happy thoughts and memories, instead of the part where he abandoned everyone he loved. Even if he did it to save them, it seemed...wrong now. Like maybe it would have been easier on them if he'd just let Faust kill him...

Ty was keeping a lookout on the surroundings as he worked, and he noticed that he wasn't the only one working here. Then, again, all things considered, it made perfect sense. Though the lad was used to being the only one picking pockets at a time, this wasn't the minors anymore. So, as he worked, he made a point to avoid the other pickpockets. In his line of work, he'd learned to pick them out of a crowd, though he had to admit some were harder to pinpoint than others.
However, one in particular caught his attention. Bright red jacket. Couldn't miss her. He found his eyes darting to her every now and then; maybe later he'd try to talk to her. He knew better than to interrupt a woman while she was working.
Now, back to his work...
An experienced thief might have noticed Ty was avoiding stealing from women altogether, but that was how he worked. He still adhered to his moral code.
Very carefully, he plucked a roll of cash from a shirt pocket and disappeared into the crowd.
His eyes were focused as he navigated the dangerous landscape, though they still found their way to the mysterious--yet he had to admit, quite skilled--female. Focus, Ty. Focus. Mistakes happen when you don't focus...

"I think we all wonder that, every now and then," Ty murmured softly, then sighed to himself after she'd went to get her refill. This is what it'd come to. He was such a horrible person that he had to be someone else just to maintain a friendship. When she settled back into her seat, he caught sight of her tattoos. Part of him wanted to cry, but the other was sort of thankful he was 'Phil' right now. And the new tattoo didn't help matters very much.
No, he was still the same Ty. It was another classic example of his good intentions biting him in the end. It was because he was too weak. Too useless to maintain anything worth keeping. But not anymore. Starting now, he was going to step up.
"Not really," he finally said, his voice cracking; his throat was suddenly very dry, which he chased with soda. "Today's pretty much open; I'm just taking everything as it comes along at this point," he said with a small nod. Hopefully his cover was still holding up okay...if not, then today could turn sour really quickly.

Ty almost choked on his pizza at what she'd said; partly because it was funny, but mostly because...well, it was kinda embarrassing, and he did kinda used to(ish) have somewhat of a teeny tiny crush on her. Maybe.
Wait...was she on to him? No, she called him Phil. But that didn't mean she wasn't remembering, and that she'd spring it on him later, and then he'd be all alone in the world again, right? Right?
Or maybe, more logically, the lad was overthinking this just a tad. She just cracked a joke, after all.
"Heh, sorry," he replied, his face turning redder than what hair he had left. "I always did have a tendency to get a little more emotional than intended when I speak."
Or maybe he was just trying to earn brownie points and ended up laying it on more than just a little too thick.

Ty usually didn't do the gambling scene; his luck could be described as iffy at best. Besides, he pressed his luck for a living, why do it for recreation as well, right? But...in a sense, that was exactly why the young man was here; to make a little pocket money.
But he wasn't in on the action, per se. No. He stuck to the shadows, his icy blue eyes scanning the scene as a hand ran through his now extremely short, red hair as his eyes scanned the scene, hands in the pocket of his jeans for now. The weather was cooling off, but still not enough for a jacket. He thought, at least. So, here he was, in a black tee shirt, black jeans, keeping a low profile as he skillfully swiped bits of cash here and there from people who definitely would kill him if he got caught.
What better way to celebrate getting settled back in after a return from running for your life? Nimbly, his hand swiped a few bills from an unsuspecting pocket before blending back into his surroundings, unseen, unnoticed.
But he knew that could change in a heartbeat. Knowing this, he also knew to plan ahead, should he find himself in a bind.

Ty thoughtfully bit his lip as he listened. "She's weakened, eh? Guess I couldn't have picked a better time to come back, then," he murmured, mostly to himself.
Amused. Ty amused a lot of people in his day, and it rarely ended with a mutually happy ending. "That's often my first impression on people, yes," Ty replied, a mischievous gleam in his eyes. Maybe it'd be to his advantage if he never lost that first impression, even once he achieved his goal. He never wanted to be one of those who looked the part of having a lot of power or authority. It was good to remain...non-threatening in appearance.
"Ragnarok?" At this, Ty unwillingly perked up, his love of mythology showing. "In Norse Mythology, Ragnarok is the end of the world. An end in which even the deities and powers that be themselves meet their end. I'm going out on a limb here and guessing you're up to something very similar to or symbolic of this, or you'd like to spend the rest of the evening discussing mythology. As much as the latter would intrigue me, I'm thinking closer to the former, yes?"
Maybe the 'hobo' wasn't as dumb as he first appeared.

Ty smiled, grabbing his plate as well and following Noel to the table. Sitting across from her, he realized how good it felt just to...relax. Now that was something he hadn't done in quite a long time.
He pondered the question she posed to him long and hard. Ty wanted to make sure he answered this one right and didn't end up putting his foot in his mouth, as he often tended to do.
"Well, honestly, it doesn't really matter to me that I have to keep introducing myself to you," he said softly, once he finally broke the silence. "See, it doesn't matter how often you forget; that just comes with the territory. But, though your memories may leave, your address and your job may change, one thing remains constant. No matter what, you're still you. And that's what makes you indispensable." After saying his piece, Ty picked up his pizza, taking a bite and leaving a trail of cheese from the pizza to his mouth.

Ty smirked at the joke; in all honesty, he'd made much worse than that plenty of times. "It always smells amazing in here," Ty responded rather quickly; he'd forgotten how much he missed good old New York Pizza. Nowhere he'd been did it better; not Georgia, and definitely not Kansas. He'd felt so deprived, having been reduced to crappy chain-pizza and frozen cardboard topped with processed everything.
Actually, it could be a reasonable argument that besides a thirst for power, a hunger for decent pizza could have been the second thing that drove Ty back to the city. He chuckled as she spoke, deciding against bringing up any potential awkwardness that may or may not reveal that he wasn't exactly who he said he was right now. "Hey, not like I've stayed in one place very long either. I was just picking."
Ty chuckled as she offered to pay his. "I'll have the same. Yeah. To have a friend like her, I've gotta be some kinda lucky." Of course my luck has run out before, so let's not push it.

Ty nodded; he couldn't help but smile at the memories. Those were good times. Good, if somewhat hellish, troubling, and occasionally life threatening times. Mostly, what Noel had taught him was on the inside. But, that was something he didn't want to get into; no need to get all sappy, right?
"I've always been told I'm one in a million," he quipped jokingly.
And then, he had to pause again. This girl was really asking the tough questions, wasn't she? Thinking back on the last year wasn't something he liked to do if he could help it, let alone talk about it. But...he had to tell her something, and given her ability, it had better be the truth.
"A lot, actually," he finally replied, breaking the awkward silence as it was about to settle in. "Been away on personal business, and just recently blew back into town. Although, to an extent, it's almost like I never left."
He chuckled. "You always did have a habit of moving a lot," he commented. Hey, to him it sounded a heap better than 'hey, remember that time we lived together?' Right? Right.
Just up the street was Ty's target. Good...the old pizza joint he used to love hitting up was still there. Leading his old friend inside, he paused a moment just to take in the familiar smells.

"Heh, lessons? If anything, I learned more from you than the other way around," he teased. And then...she asked for his number, and he froze for a second. Crap.
He figured his best bet would be just to tell her his number, so that's exactly what he did. Anything that happened, he'd just take as it came. Besides, that's how he was approaching this whole situation anyway, right?
"Sure, you can take my picture," he replied, now thinking on possible lunch ideas.
"I'm down for pizza, actually. Haven't had a good slice of pizza since..." He paused, hanging on his own words for a moment. No...don't give away too much. She doesn't even know you're you, much less what you've been through... Besides, he didn't want anyone to know what he'd been through the past year or so anyway.
"I haven't had a good slice of pizza in a long time," he finally said, giving a smile and motioning for her to follow.
After all, the real Phil was likely to show up soon, and things were already sketchy and liable to implode at any moment as it was...

Ty tried to swallow the nervousness he was feeling overwhelmed by. He was sure she hated him if she remembered him, and if she didn't remember, she'd know if he was lying. So either way, the truth was going to come out and he was--Phil? Yes...he was Phil now.
Ty knew better than to say anything, or agree, because then the jig was up already. So he merely nodded. "It's been a long time," he replied, keeping his answers short and sweet for now. The more he said, the more likely he was to get into trouble.
"Thanks, I'm trying out a new look."
Plans? Crap. He had to think, and he had to think quick. Then again...he didn't know who this Phil really was, or when he'd show up, so...maybe it was time to get.
"No real plans, per say. Just lunch. Talking, catching up. As old friends tend to do." He smiled, giving a nod. Maybe if he could earn her trust as Phil, then it wouldn't be as bad when she remembered Ty?
Or maybe it would be much worse. Only time would tell.

Ty enjoyed standing on the edge of the roof; it made him feel in control. He held his own life in his hands, and nothing could--whoa foot slipped! With that, Ty quickly scurried back to the safety of the roof, chuckling to himself.
"Well...that's enough of that, for now..." he murmured to himself. "Heh...maybe I've just outgrown rooftops..." He climbed nimbly back down the fire escape, making his way to the street. Now, he guessed it was time to find a place to stay.
He made his way down the alley again, loving the feeling of his new clothes. Upon exiting the alleyway, he saw a familiar face, and it made him freeze. Noel.
He thought he had everything planned out; just avoid everyone he left behind and he wouldn't have to face it until he was ready. Sounded good on paper, but...now it wasn't looking so good. Next thing he knew, he was approaching her, against his better judgement.

The redhead was starting to relax. Well, as much as one could, given the circumstances. To the naked eye, it would seem that Ty was an idiot and didn't know that he was in danger. But in reality, Ty was almost always in danger, so most things didn't really phase him.
When the dragon started speaking...Dragon-speak? Who knows, Ty sort of started going off in a daze, daydreaming a bit, losing his focus. Until, that is, he heard the name 'Faust.'At this, all the color drained from his face.
"Faust..." he cut in, his voice stammering. "If you're working for...her...I'm already dead anyway." He tried to steady his breath. This is it...all that training for nothing...
He held his hands by his side, staring into the night. Usually, he would have fought. But at this point, why? He was weak...and he knew it...

It was good to be back...
For the most part. Ty never did like the crowds, but he learned that in his profession, more people meant greater possibility at a good haul. As it stood, pockets were ripe for the picking; he'd scored enough to buy new clothes. First and foremost...it was time to ditch the gloves. As much as he'd grown to love them, they were like training wheels, and by now...they needed to go. Roaming through a clothing store, he picked up a green tee shirt and a black hoodie with a fish skeleton on the back, topped off by a pair of blue jeans and a new pair of sneakers(finally). After he'd paid for his new attire, he'd slipped off into the changing room and closed the door.
As he shed his shirt, he looked at his now exposed tattoos in the mirror, and one in particular, stood out...the full moon, surrounded by a faint, green aura on the left side of his chest. Next to his heart. Tses...
He'd stared at it a moment, idly tracing the moon with his hand. Shaking his head, he changed clothes, and put the contents of his pockets into his new pants. Then, he walked out, trashing the old garb. The hoodie slung over his shoulder, he continued down the street.
After an hour at his next stop, he stepped out into the street, sporting a much shorter haircut. New Ty, new look.
After skillfully picking a few more pockets, he heard a dog barking, and it made him jump. Shaking his head to clear the memories, the lad ducked into an alley, shimmying up a fire escape and climbing up to the roof. Standing out looking over the edge, he felt so...free. So powerful, looking down over everyone.
And yet, it was just a feeling. For now. One day, he'd rise to new heights.
One day, this city would be in the palm of his hand.
