The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

Xavia listened intently as Janelle explained herself. Xavia was smiling before the girl was even halfway through. It was good to know that she wasn't the only one. She welcomed it, in fact. Xavia moved closer, and the scent of roses mingled with all of the smells within the greenhouse, and the older mutant would lay a hand on the girl's shoulder in hopes of easing her. "I could... Always use help around t'e greenhouse." she nodded as she spoke in her somewhat, but not overly heavy accent. "I can even pay you for it. I welcome everyone in here, as my intent is to share my babies wit' t'e world."
She gestured to the desk for Janelle to have a seat, "Please do sit down while I tend to t'e pets. Unless you wish to gat'er some fruit and lettuce for me to give to t'em... Guinea pig loves lettuce and rabbit loves raspberries." Her intent was to immediately put her to ease, to make her feel comfortable where she was at and not worry about being weird for asking Xavia to help her.
It was one of the reasons she was loved as a teacher. She made sure the kids were all included somehow, she gave them hands on things, not just writing assignments, and she tried to make it fun. It was no surprise that her class had been booked through until the next semester.

"It was terrible... T'ere were mutant concentration camps... I went to help wit' relief efforts and was captured. I am afraid I might not have contributed as much as ot'ers, but I did suffer for t'e fight." She wasn't going into the torture... Nope. That was a part of her life she didn't mean to keep remembering. Unfortunately, nobody would ever forget that type of thing. "I know t'ose from t'e Order did more for t'e fight t'an anyone could have asked for."
She peered at the Adonis, her expression kind of haunted at that mention of her past. She had brought it up, thought, so it wasn't like she could be angry at him for asking.
As for him not asking about the pregnancy, he didn't need to since it would soon be obvious anyway. And it was for the best that he didn't try to touch her in any case, for she would probably not have taken that well.
"I am glad to see t'at it counted," she added quietly.

"Yes, you are. I'm afraid I am not flawless today, but you understand a girl can't be glam with goo all over her stomach, right?" Indeed, she had gone without cosmetics, and her bright hair was piled on top of her head in their natural, riotous curls instead of being straightened. But miss plant girl could pull off the messy look and still look fabulous, and it was kind of sickening. Hell, she was scrubbing it that day, but her belly was starting to get in the way of her wearing her normal clothes already. Thanks, twins.
"You do what you gotta do, Derek. I say you go for who you t'ink will be best for you. Personally, Devon would not be my first choice if he was a choice for me. He is prettier t'an I am, and t'at just wouldn't do," she was joking, obviously, though dude was pretty effing pretty.
"I figured it would be better t'an wearing my dress in t'e kitchen. I didn't plan for staying t'e night at your place." And yes, she did look pretty hot in his shirt. "Yes please," she said to the orange juice, and then sat down at his table. He would probably notice that she was at ease even if he wasn't. Hey, no big deal to her, right? She propped her bare foot up on the chair, which was definitely something she always did at home and was a good indication that she was comfortable in his presence.
Of course, she waited for him to sit down to eat first. The coffee would be perfection, strong but not too strong... The eggs would be nice and fluffy, soft scrambled. She took a bite of toast, hers had avocado mashed and smeared all over it. She hadn't gotten that from his fridge. She nibbled at the toast and smiled at him with her eyes warm on his face. "Did you sleep well, Artair?" Honestly, she hadn't had more than an hour of sleep in a while and it was nice for her.
She hoped that he wasn't uncomfortable with whatever this situation was in general. She did understand, though, seeing as she hadn't planned to come home with him so soon, but... The way his hand was in hers the night before... Damn. Just the thought gave her goose flesh for a moment, and a blush touched her cheeks. She looked down at her toast now and then took another bite.
She knew that Kendra was joking, but the comment about the frogs made her face turn a little gray. "I am lucky that I am a vegetarian, so I have a legit reason to say 'no' if I am ever asked if I want some damn frog legs. Be lucky I didn't make you come into class today. You probably wouldn't have made t'at joke." She grinned, nevertheless as she pointed that out.
She leaned into the cushion of the car as they made their way to food. By the time they made it to the restaurant, she had recovered from the frog joke as well as the nausea from the frogs themselves. Hopefully another joke about those would be kept silent, it would be a long time before she could even look at a dead frog. Thank god that she wouldn't have to for another semester.
After they were in the restaurant, she realized she was extremely hungry, and her belly gave a loud, opinionated growl as if to say, "Feed me." Soon, belly, soon. She was sure it was the baby causing this bi-polar mood of her stomach. Her mouth watered at all of the smells surrounding them.
Damn, she was trying to steer the topic off of men. Derek was trying to find out more than she was willing to let on. And if she knew him like she thought she did? He would probably stoop to sending some kind of animal after her to track her movements, the brat. Oooh, she would fix him good if he did that, he just didn't know she was on to him. That punk didn't need to know.
Nosy little weasle.
"You're welcome. It would be a shame not to see t'em worn, and I am afraid pregnant women don't exactly fit some of t'ose t'ings... Hell, I stopped fitting t'em after getting pregnant for Delilah." She wondered how her kiddo was going to take the news that she would be a big sister.
She didn't have much time to ponder, however, because it was time for their mud bath.
"I just... Ugh..." But she didn't argue any further with what Kendra said. Yeah, she was right. She was very much right at that point. How could she not be? Neither of them asked for some jerks to drug them that night, and Kendra had a gift that could get her out of it. Xavia was grateful for their friendship, that much was for certain.
Kendra hugged her and she hugged back. She felt a bond with her that she couldn't get with her other besties. Sorry, Derek, but Kendra was there first, and she had been there when the bad had happened. Mind you, Xavia loved Derek to pieces. Hell, she was starting to consider both Kendra and Derek her sister and brother the way she felt. She pulled back from the tearful hug and gave a kiss to her friend's forehead.
And then she laughed when lunch was offered. "As long as it isn't frogs, I am peachy keen." It was hard to let someone else buy for her when she was able to pay for her own food and then some, but people were insisting more and more, and she finally gave in to those who did, so she did not argue with Kendra buying.
"I could go for a giant bowl of hummus and pita chips, I won't lie." It was not a secret that she was a vegetarian, everyone either figured this out about her or she told. Hopefully Kendra already knew.
"I do... But I am not interested in t'at Adonis." Not when she had her mind on someone else... Who she had no idea was also in the eye of said Adonis. This would be an interesting love square.... Or pentagon... if it ever came about. Shoot, who did triangles anymore anyways?
"Well, who gives you t'e t'rills?" she asked. "Who makes your belly quiver?"

She grabbed up her underwear, slipped them on, and then shrugged as she grabbed his shirt from the night before. She inhaled his scent as she pulled the thing over her head and went to the kitchen... In his shirt... And started to poke around in the cupboards to pull dishes out. Soon, an aroma filled the air, and it smelled delicious, and a tune would also fill the air. "Shut your mouth, baby, stand and deliver... Holy hands, oh they make me a sinner... Like a river... Like a river... Shut your mouth and run me like a river..." She was belting it out, but not so loud that the neighbors would complain. Not that they had anything to complain about, the lady could sing. It was no wonder they signed her to a contract.
This was not a typical morning for her, but she was in a fantastic mood, padding about in his kitchen without a care in the world. Hopefully, he wouldn't freak out at her for wearing his shirt and helping herself to cooking breakfast, but she was starving, and she was an okay cook, so he probably wouldn't mind the healthy breakfast. Let's just assume that he had the stuff to make some sauteed veggies, eggs for him but not for her, and some toast for both. If he didn't have the veggies, he would probably not want to ask how she got them, for it tended to weird people out. Hey, her tomatoes were safe to eat, damn it.
She continued to sing, set the plates on the counter and started to pour some coffee, careful not to spill on herself. She would have to content herself with not drinking the delicious smelling brew, since... well.. Caffeine... but god, did it smell good. Hopefully, he would take the cue and investigate. Knowing him, though, he probably would.
Hah, she already had a kid and TWO on the way, but she never really took anything about Delilah to school to show people unless they asked, and she, herself, didn't know yet about there being two buns in that oven. She was not alone, either, her own mother was helping and she never asked others to help...
"I can't wait to see your face when you see t'e clot'es I have for you, kid." she changed the subject, hopefully effectively. No matter how much Derek tried, she was not going to reveal that she and Artair did make passionate good-good. Mum's the word. She totally kept that to herself. Yup.
"I have some stuff from Christian Dior, Gucci, and even Chanel. Trust me, you will be drooling. A whole rack with tags still on em..."

Indeed, she was fast asleep. The night before had been something for the books, that was the truth. She was still in a super peaceful and warm state, laying there as she was, no shame. She slowly opened her eyes to see Artair peering at her, cracking a joke as he usually did. "Hi..." she said softly, her eyes half closed for another reason other than the long night of... what could only be described as "spectacular" in her mind. She gave a sleepy smile and rubbed at her face. Man, she felt so rested for the first time in months. It was nice.
She rolled onto her back, reluctantly breaking the contact between them, oddly not feeling the nausea she normally felt around this time. Maybe it would come later, but right now, she was feeling really nice. "I t'ink I had a run in wit' a strong Scotsman last night who drove me insane." she countered with a half joke of her own, and she took a deep breath.
Unaware of his inner turmoil, she rolled to face him now, tangled in his blanket as she was, and she watched him with a serious expression on her face. She touched his arm, then sighed in a contented way. She didn't even want to read into what happened as more than just... consensual adult fun. Hell, she didn't know what was going to happen... But she, for one, did not regret the night at all... In fact, it had been needed more than she thought it had. And she decided to lay some things out on the table, in true Xavia fashion...
"Artair, last night was really lovely and I honestly do not know what will happen in t'e future, but I have no regrets. I hope you don't eit'er... It was spectacular. But don't worry t'at I want you to tell me you love me already, because t'at would be asking a lot." She smiled with her sincerity, adding, "And might be a bit much. I just want you to enjoy, t'at is all." With that, she rolled and sat up to stretch... He would see her toned back with the faint road map of scars, and the two little dimples at the lower end, before she, unabashed, got up and padded to his bathroom without bothering to grab for her clothes yet.

She had nailed it. He had a crush on the pretty Devon fellow who could probably flirt the socks off of a horse. Xavia pursed her lips, but it was probably too late to hide the fact she figured out exactly who Derek talked to. So instead, she murmured, "Oh... You mean Devon t'e Adonis... Pretty man he is... Pretty man. I can see why you would like him, t'ough." He had nothing to worry about with her being any competition. After all, she had a handsome Scotsman in her flower bed. Oh... yes she did.
"He seems nice," she added, and was clearly not interested in Devon in the same manner he was. Again, not that he ever needed to worry.
She was busy grading the tomato plants for their final grade. All of them looked well tended, they all had fat tomatoes on them, and they smelled nice and fragrant... But the smell, which usually gave Xavia pleasure, was not helping the overstimulated sense of smell she had going on right now. She was about to go check on the rabbit and the guinea pig at the front of the greenhouse when there was an odd feeling passing through her. She had not yet encountered someone who shared her kind of gift. And then a greeting was called out. Xavia turned and gazed in some confusion at the young lady who seemed to affect the plants close to her, and her brows shot up.
"Yes?" asked the older mutant in blatant curiosity. She moved to approach the young lady in question, head canted to the side, "May I help you?"
She waited for an answer from the girl who looked like she was nervous. Xavia kind of sympathized with her, for she had been nervous when she was younger, and it hadn't made transitioning from normal to gifted easy at all. She wondered what the girl had to be nervous about... Xavia was most certainly not intimidating, for she was much too short and cute to be. Was it the sheer size of the greenhouse? It was kind of big, but there were many plants to accommodate.

"Zeus?" she asked, curious now... "Does he have a name?" She wondered if he had met and was talking about Devon... The man was very pretty and stately. She had recently met him, herself. She called him Adonis, as opposed to Zeus, though, so it could be someone completely different than who she was thinking about.
"Derek!" She swatted at his arm, shaking her head. "Speak for yourself and Mr. Man." She shook her head. "What a turd you are." Then she hugged his arm affectionately. Goodness gracious, she thought.
"Onward to food!" She said when her stomach rumbled, changing the subject. Her hand rubbed at her belly again and she sighed, relaxing against the seat. "I can't wait to feel t'em moving. Not'ing better t'an t'at."
