The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

"Seeing your t'umbs fly over t'at screen. Mmmhmm." She smirked after slipping into the car with him. She had a wicked gleam in her eyes as she peered at him. "You are asking me, a lady, to kiss and tell. Shame, shame, weirdo." She laughed softly. But yeah... It was easy to figure out what had happened. She was just lady enough not to voice an affirmation to that. Hah. "Naughty. Don't worry about me, little brot'er, I am doing just fine. He is a very sweet man."
That was pretty much all he needed to know, right? And it was true... So far, things were fantastic... She didn't feel like running... this was the first time she had ever started to get deeper into something without dashing off.
She forced herself to come back to attention. Woopsy.. Heheh. "Umm... Sorry." It was just that she was firmly stuck in what happened between Artair and herself. It started with just a kiss to the cheek and somehow ended up in a haze. Ok, so maybe she caused it to h.... No... HE DID... Pressing on pressure points in her palm. That man. Lord Jesus, help her. She fanned herself.
She didn't really have anything to say about high school romances, since her only experience was watching her sweetheart get shot dead. Yup, she wasn't the best to talk to the girl about that stuff. She didn't even have a problem with the young lady... Hell, she was looking forward to seeing her face when she plopped some of her brand new costumes from tour into the her arms. She was going to poop her pants. Just saying. Xavia listened to the two talking with a smile on her face, and she didn't mean to start doing this, but she was rubbing now at the baby bump that was already starting to show, not even thinking about kisses anymore but about babies.
"You are such a weirdo. Don't ever change," she wadded up the empty bag and tossed it to him. "And have you asked him t'ese questions?" She snickered and then nodded out to the waiting towncar she saw through the glass doors. "Saved by the car, you nosy bugger. How about you and your fellow? I see you trying to hide t'e fact you are texting over t'ere." Uh huh, she got him.

She let him guide her out of the restaurant, her arm through his, her heated eyes on his face as they walked to the warmth outside. She leaned against him at some point and left her head drift to his shoulder, fitting quite nicely against his side. She was breathless at that point, and part of her was more worked up than she had planned to be. Holy crap, the feeling between them, at least to her, was charged as it could get. She heard his last question, one that needn't have been asked but he gave her an option anyways. Xavia moved to face him, winding her arms around the back of his neck and looking at him, her eyes almost golden with what he read correctly. "Yours," she murmured.
Ahem. This is the part where they go back to his place in a cab. We needn't go into detail... Just know that whatever happened behind closed doors after that date was probably pretty spectacular. At least Xavia thought so... She would never... ever... forget the night they shared. And yes, she told him she would go out with him again. Now, whatever was going on between them in general? Would it be a relationship? Who knew? She was content to be in his company... Even if one day things might fall apart, she bloomed from being near him.
He got her that time, but she was quick to get back to her feet. "My wish, t'eir command." She grinned and then said, "Watch t'is." Then she slapped the ground at his feet, and several saplings sprouted up around him in quick succession, blocking him from her long enough for her to circle around him. She waved her hand and they bent to her will, then she started flinging acorns toward his back just for the fun of it. She had been practicing. A lot. Of course, she didn't know yet during this fight that she was pregnant, and that it did affect her powers a bit and how her body reacted to the use. She didn't even notice that blood was starting to drip from her nose.
She was lucky that she knew how much of a turd he was when he said stuff like don't hold back, he meant it for him too. She was prepared for the first move, dropping to a crouch just as the cold would have slammed her head, which would have done MORE than give her brain freeze due to her weakness. She shot a vine out as he was leading up to the uppercut, and if successful, would wrap the thing around his ankles and give a yank, hopefully to yank him from his feet or at least pull him off balance. Then she'd shake her hand free of the vine before it had a chance to break off. Not wanting to be on the defensive for too long, she used the trees to her advantage, leaping up and using a branch to fling her directly toward him, feet first.
"I left all my fury for a-hole. I honestly feel numb toward him and don't want him to be in the forefront of my mind anymore." Though that was going to be hard when she gave birth. "I cannot be mad t'at you didn't tell me, only upset for you t'at you had a rough time and I wasn't t'ere for you." And she meant it. She was always putting other people first when it came to friendships. Sure, she was mentally absent for a few weeks as she tried to get over her shell shock that she had become another statistic. And that pill had made her feel like complete turd for days after... She was pretty sure it was x, and it was one of a few pills that did affect her.
As far as Artair went...
"He did say he wanted anot'er date." Xavia blushed a bit, rubbing the back of her neck and really smiling... She had never... Ever smiled, let alone given the kind of smile that bespoke of budding feelings. "He is a really nice guy." She hadn't revealed just how far things had gone to Derek, so she was keeping her lips sealed on just that with Kendra. It was weird to talk about getting all deep into something with a guy, but then just two guys ago, she had been as innocent as a child when it came to matters of the heart. "It was my very first date." She did add, because as much as Jupiter had loved her, he had never taken her to dinner, never taken her to the movies, etc. The experience was nice, just having that kind of attention was worth waiting for.
Her mouth curled up in a stupid grin because of how he always joked when he wanted to see her smile, even though all he had to do was just look at her, pretty much, and she was smiling for him. "I spent some time before t'e date t'inking about stuff t'at really messed me up over t'e years... I t'ink I just came to t'e point where I didn't want to hurt anymore, so I don't. It wasn't easy, but I can't be wallowing anymore. Artair makes me laugh and I had forgotten how t'at felt. Don't know what is between us, but I like it. I am glad he was t'ere for you to save your life. Only convinces me more he is a good man." And it did. She really was glad Kendra was okay.
"I wanted to tell you how sorry I am t'at I got you involved t'at night at t'e club... I was stupid to have even gone t'ere, let alone invited you out." She wasn't going to bring up the kiss she had shared with Geo out of desperation, that had been a low moment for her and she needed to apologize to the man for that as well. He was probably right that her attraction for him was based on their two powers.
She didn't freak out... She listened while Kendra talked. She was clearly physically okay... They had been through a reckless evening together thanks to her, it wouldn't be right to yell at her. She did not. She did, however, have a concerned look on her face. "Is t'at why you are not sleeping?" Indeed, Kendra had seen the worst of her... She had seen her draw blood in malice, maim another human being to make him suffer... But her sanity had cracked from the night before. She had done some insane things since that night, like sleepwalking in Central Park where she met the other possibility for a baby daddy. Why he chose to pursue a night of horizontal tango with her was beyond her, but she was in no shape to pass judgement. Not a bit. "I am glad you are okay!" And she meant it.
She gave her friend a hug, thankfully no longer smelling of puke. That was good, right? She pulled back and searched Kendra's gaze with her worried ones, "Is t'is why you do not sleep? I... understand completely." She didn't need to elaborate. Kendra had already witnessed her in full out PTSD, not to mention what the assault had left her doing. They were both a mess. Seriously. "Why didn't you tell me?" she asked, but not in a hurt way, just more in curiosity.... "I understand not wanting to talk about stuff, but you saw me almost tear someone's... uhh... t'ing off. I t'ought we shared a special bond, yo." She was half teasing, half serious...
And then Kendra brought up the date thing and she said, "His name is Artair... I met him at a restaurant and he scared me enough to spill hot tea on myself. He took care of t'e burns and I ended up at his house, but not to do anyt'ing naughty, just... couldn't walk. And t'en we just hit it off I guess, and somehow I ended up on a date at a really nice French place eating stewed veggies and trying to remain a lady because he's so good looking and... sweet... and... I hadn't been able to be comfortable around a man in a long time until him."

"I do not eat desserts much," she said honestly, "I work too hard to eat sweets." And she meant it. How else would she have those gams he liked looking at so much, or the svelt form he seemed to like too. Aye, she knew he looked. She nodded as the dishes were bussed, and she, who had avoided looking at him while she was eating, looked up at him and she said quite softly, "I am not always accident prone now." She chuckled and then dropped her gaze, clearly not able to shake things. "I will be right back," she said and stood up, heading for the bathroom to try and clear her mind of the things she thought about.
She made it to the bathroom and freshened up. The bathroom attendant offered a spray of perfume until she caught a whiff of roses drifting into her nostrils, then asked Xavia about it and Xavia said, "It is my own personal scent. It cannot be replicated." The woman nodded, thinking she understood what Xavia meant when she probably didn't. Xavia adjusted her dress and such, took one of those dissolving things that freshened breath and did put it on her tongue, then said goodbye to the attendant.
She walked back toward their table, telling herself that she would sit back down and he would pay the check. But that idea flew out the window as soon as she laid her eyes on him. She walked up to him, leaned in, and pressed her mouth to his unless he decided to stop her. And this wasn't like the first one, this one was straight up just... wow... If ever there was a time that fireworks could explain a kiss, that was probably it right there. Then she pulled away and said, "I wasn't going to do t'at but... I couldn't help it. We should probably leave before people start staring." And she gave a soft chuckle before pulling further away.

He wanted to sit down, now. So she sat too. She listened, letting her gaze linger on his face to indicate that fact. Her face was impassive for the moment, it wasn't like she had anything to say against Haven. She knew nothing about it but what he told her. And when he finished, she gave a slight smile, "T'at sounds like a solid t'ing to do." She didn't say anything further, pausing to let him keep talking until he was through.
And when he was, she would kind of nod in agreement at her earlier words. She said, "I see. I am glad t'ere are ot'ers to pick up t'e good fight, t'en, because I didn't go to Romania to come back and see no progress."
Indeed, she was a veteran in the mutant "army" (not really an army, but you know...) and it was a good thing that there were people who wanted to do things for the greater good. It was nice to have an ally... Or she thought so anyways. Hopefully he wasn't pulling wool over peoples' eyes... That wouldn't be good at all.
Xavia crossed her legs, her "bump" becoming blatantly visible by the change in position, for the fabric of her shirt stretched over her belly and other areas affected by her pregnancy. She didn't even think about hiding it to begin with, and doubted it would be an issue that the man saw.
"Maybe if I stayed in plant form. But I do not." she said after munching half the bag already. "Why do you ask such a weird question, weirdo?" she asked affectionately, casting an odd look in his direction before wiggling her fingers and sticking them back into the corn chips. Pretty soon, her bag was empty, and she shamelessly turned the bag over her mouth to get the crumbs. And then she licked crumbs from her fingers, and... Paused like that as he brought Artair up..
Cough, cough, "What? Uh... Yeah, we can, I suppose?" Were they even in a relationship? One had to wonder at this point.
She closed her eyes when his finger trailed away. It didn't help. Not one bit. There was an intake of breath, then that sound she had fought against coming out. Sh**. She closed her eyes against the lingering heat his hand had left on hers, then pulled her hand back as well. Then she looked down at her food, and made herself take a bite.
It was delicious, but she couldn't speak right at the moment. "Mmm..." she said, as soon as she swallowed, closing her eyes again to basically try to will herself not to think of the way his thumb had pressed just so on scars. She was not going to be able to concentrate for a few minutes at least. She tried at that point to think thoughts that were far from attractive... Dirty diapers... Think of the dirty diapers you will have to change in less than nine months... Screaming babies... Unbalanced washing machine... Jerky students who don't follow the rules... Umm... Ummm... That kiss he gave me...
With a shaky sigh, she bent her head doggedly to eat her food. It was too late, she was wanting something... To not be a lady. "It really is good food," she said, her voice really low and husky at this point. There was no denying the red flush that filled her cheeks. It made for a really pretty picture. "I really like it. T'ank you for bringing me here." There, she thought. Now he would know she was at least trying to be good.
Plenty of time, exactly. Right? So why did she want to be finished with dinner and forgo other things? Damn, what a pickle. She ate her food as slow as she could muster, which wasn't that slow at all.
"Hmm?" she asked when Derek was trying to get her attention. Hell, she had totally missed what Allegra was saying to her. "Oh, we went to eat French food and had a lovely time. He was very sweet." And she said no more, because she was picturing that smoocharoo again. Gosh, but that had been such a charged one. She didn't remember ever having a kiss like that. She was saved from having to further explain when they were all escorted back to their first stop in the spa, the dressing rooms and the lockers to stash their clothing and such.
She came out of said place, all wrapped up in a fluffy spa robe, feet in slippers, and leaned against the wall to wait for the others to be done. And her mind was firmly on the date.

"T'e food is really delicious," she said as she finished her starter. And then as he said stuff about the date in general, good company, the kiss, she lowered her lashes and said, "I wasn't expecting you to steal a kiss on t'e lips but I liked it." And he was distracting her to no end with what he was doing with his thumb. She bit into her bottom lip to keep from making that noise again. She wasn't sure he knew he was getting to her... Big time. She was now gazing at him with half mast eyes.
"I am glad... too.." she mumbled, and then... Then their second round of food was brought and she stared at the stewed veggies, her mouth quite dry at this point. She drained her glass of club soda, then hesitated on her food just for the fact her mind was quite elsewhere at the moment. She wasn't thinking like a lady right at the moment, she was imagining un-lady-like things, and if he only knew... The heat crept up the back of her neck as she forced her gaze open wider, and she bit her bottom lip again.
And the thing was, it wasn't even an awkward thing. If he looked, he would see what he was doing and either stop, or keep going, simple as that. There were signs, man, signs! She would be in his bed if he kept going. There was no hiding it. Her attention was all on him, not on the food.
Her hands clapped almost in excitement. She hadn't voiced the thing about the ice cream and olives, and if she did, it would have been about later at home. Besides, her cravings were still kind of all over the place. Actually, her cravings were just starting to hit, to be honest. She told him the name of the place, some generic name.
And then she eyed the vending machine. She eyed the unhealthy food with a sigh. God, all her hard work and she was going to lose her toned tummy to pregnancy cravings and twins. But she would get it back... Why the hell not? She shot up and bought a couple bags of Fritos to nom on before the cab got there. She tossed him a bag, sat down Indian style, even going so far as to slipping her shoes off, and opened her bag.
The crunch of cornchip was real as she ate with gusto.
