The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

Melissa had a second to consider the situation, her luck had been questionable lately, except for Sam giving her a job that she felt barely kept her busy. Still she was grateful. It was then heard Frank try and negotiate.
"Look, Blondie, how about we cut you in? The mutant over there turns water into booze. Drinkable cash and nothing shes not done before" he said slurring a few of the words as he tried a gambit for peace, even trying to back off slowly. Frank was still sober enough to consider if this lady found them, others might to.
"Profit and slavery are not.....i knew i should of kept humans outa the bar" she spat angrily. She kept it to herself most of the time, but Melissa was a mutant supemacist. She was no Isabel, Aura, or syn, rather Melissa felt humans would go extinct as more and more mutants were born. It was nice to have the breather and frank and his friends awaited the vigilantes reply.

She nodded, she supposed he was right, even amoung mutants flight was not all that common so who was waiting around prepared for such a thing. She figured Carrick had thought about all this since whenever he had obtained his wings. Still it was hard not to bring up such things as they came into her mind. "Most of them don't even seem to look up" she said watching as they went lower.
He was smooth she had to give him that, prolbely the public image had forced it on him or maybe the opposite was true. "Honestly the wing's took my eye first, i hardly noticed the tail til after we spoke. Well i would say i encountered the best of the three so far. The booze don't speak to me which makes it easy, still would be nice if i could turn it off" she said trying to follow his lead and trail away from his other forms.
"We are all full of it. I use to tell customers i had laser eyes or the power to make people eplode. Drunk's will beleive a lot when your handing them a beer" she went on watching the view as they went and as the went higher up. "the trick is finding out just what sh** each is full of" she said thinking back on her experience with customers. She had often been something slightly different to each depending on what worked best and what got the best tip.

Melissa felt the guy who held her loosen his grip a bit more and she managed to slip his grip on her left hand. Her mind taking seconds in catching up to the woman's words. She assumed that was why her captors grip had changed. It let her and plow her foot straight into his crotch. He fell back but his grip held and he pulled her forward, Melissa landing on top the man, he still had her dominant hand and while fist struck him in the cheek, his landed in her stomach.
He grabbed her other hand, as the struggled back to their feet but now she was facing him at least. He pulled her forward and she decided not to resist. Melissa slammed into the man who was expecting her to pull and while she stumbled, she was free again. She was really glad they were hammered.
How times had changed, before NYC she might have told the woman to just call the cops. NYC was a brutal jungle. The high number of mutants meant their were a number of well known Hero's and Villains and even some humans fought well enough. She had no idea who this lady was but the sound of her fist landing on Franks face made Melissa glad she was seemingly on her side.
"Is it to early to thank you Miss?" she said not running as she had no idea what this other lady could do but Judging by Frank it was quite a bit.

The concept of throwing ones gravity seemed wild and made her picture something more akin to a bouncy ball. It also spoke wonders she thought that the concept was something she could just accept. It seemed like an interesting sight and one she wished she had gotten to see. She could could certainly relate these days on having to much time to think. She figured up here it would be easy to dwell on things for lack of anyone else to talk with. In the old days she was always to busy to dwell.
"Well we will just have to hope they lack nets then. Somhow i don't think many will be staring at me in this" she said looking back to Carrick. She kinda assumed people would not be able to identify her and would focus more on the guy with wings. It's what she thought she would of done in their place.
"You have other forms as well? Wow, your full of surprises. Can i guess one of those is a griffin?" she asked taking the easy guess and trying to prompt Carrick to talk about them. She was certainly interested, part of what had made her form her bar was meeting Mutants and seeing what they could do.

They knew what she could do. Now she understood, they wanted her power. rape was prolbely secondary in their minds and she was unsure if that was better at all. It was times like this she wished her power was more useful. At least in protecting her or form a liqueur knife. Still she knew she had a shot, if only the guy would back up a bit and get his hands off of her. Then she heard another voice, a female which told her they likely were not with these idiots. She kept struggling a bit but did lessen her struggles hoping the man holding her would relax his grip on her.
The man in front of her took a step back to look at thew arrival and opened his mouth to say something but her boot caught him in the kidney as the man swore the Third made to approach the new attractive lady who in his eyes was asking for some fun. "Well I would rather spend it with you honey, with the money were about to make i can give you anything you like" he said his eyes wondering over the Russian women and stopping a few moments on her chest.
The second guy glared at melissa but spoke up as well. "Just go away and Frank? shut up" he said, shaking his head as he moved closer to the new woman. They did not want a witness for sure. Kidnappers were not looked well upon he knew even in his inebriated state.

It was not to often she walked in central park. She had always worked way to much with the bar and while she did enjoy working for Samual it left her with a lot of free time. She had come to the park thinking it might give her comfort and help her sort things out in her mind. She had never told Sam but she had no desire to work in his bar forever, she wanted to make something of herself and bars well she loved them lacked much room for upward advancement unless you owned the place.
She realized suddenly that she had wondered further in then she intended when she heard a familiar laugh. Her head swept around to see where the man was and once she saw him she saw he was not alone. Not only that she recognized each one of them as patrons she had dealt with earlier in the day. She had to cut them off and call them a cab to ensure they did not drive. It had taken the bouncer and herself to eject the three and even then they had ended up calling the cops. They had left before the cops arrived however.
She bolted, shooting between two of the men as quickly and suddenly as she could. She made it half way to the street just out of good view before she felt the hand grab her shoulder and pull her back. She screamed but a hand covered her mouth quickly after.
The one whose laugh she knew moved in front of her with a wide smile on her face. "None of that, we don't want you hurt after all but your going to make us very rich mutant" he said tracing a finger from her chin down the v of her shirt. She struggled but whoever had her left her little room to do much and her kicks back only feeble hit her captors shin, not having the room to kick her true target.

She was unsure how to respond about controlling gravity being unfair and really did not quite get the difference but she kept that to herself. No reason to kill the mood of the night. "So she made you heavier?" she asked when he mentioned the woman had targeted him. Trying to work it out in her head she found she just saw a normal girl running across the sky.
She nodded having to agree with him. The bartender clearly had been avoiding the griffin man and she only hoped it did not have any to do with actual mutant disdain. It was always possible she was just bad at her job. Melissa found herself considering how she might have reacted in the woman's place. "I bet it does, one of the consequences of having such a rare gift. Lot of time to think i would imagine" she said looking at the various building and people from the air. "I agree, the company makes it far better" she said, gripping tighter as he eencounterd the birds and turned. She leaned in closer to Carrick as well out of instinct in case a stray bird did hit her.
"Lower would be good as much as i am loving the view. But won't that attract attention?" She asked not wanting the Griffin man to cause to many issues on her behalf. She was a bit cold and was quickly realizing how much the temp dropped as you got higher. "Your wing's must be really strong to be able to do this she said glancing at them as much as she could.

She was unsure how this was going to work but she was excited by the idea of flying. "i have to ask how does one win a race by falling?" she asked curiously. She was curious on the power but thought maybe he meant somone with a power like a hang glider. She had not encountered many fliers as she worked.
she felt him scoop her up and get into the air. It really was a good view and while she could not deny to herself that she was having second thought, she pushed those aside. It was only natural she figured the first few times as they went.
"it really is beautiful up here" she said looking around. If she could fly she knew she would abuse the power much as she did her current one. It would of bee hard not to. "Well im glad i decided to go drinking tonight" she said looking back at The griffen man.

Well she certainly understood Mutants being reluctant to be around a Adapted. She had no idea how the womans power might effect a visible mutant like Carrick. Many mutants became their powers or eventually learned to take comfort in the amazing things each of them could do. Adapteds powers had proven to cuase issues with her recently made self made booze.
"I'm ready and i never have been before" she said as she took carricks arm and looked around the bar one last time, making sure she had everything. Heights had never botherd her to much and she was assuming that would be true of riding Carrick. She was glad the weather was nice at least, she would have been reluctant had it been real windy.
"Have you met many other flyers like youself?" she asked curiously. She had met a few but they were rare, more so the ones that had actual wings. It seemed lonely to be the only one soaring in such a vast sky. Not that she thought Carrick was lonely, the guy had a friendly, calm demeaner to him. The kind she thought atracted others to them.

She took his nod and smiled back, that was a relief. She knew adults lived there as well though from what she knew it was less common. She had been offered a room there but had declined, feeling if her power has no on/off feature and she had this much control, what could the mansion teach her? How to use her power to defend herself?
"That is where our opinions part. I Loved that counselor of theirs. First good shower I have had since before my powers. When I shower the water just turns to booze, Normally I mix salt in but it feels so rough" she said recalling Gemma. The lady would always be a gem in her eye. She had stopped periodically after to steal the good shower now and then while being careful not to intrude to much. "but i also kept adapteds far from my bar" she said considering his powers and the wings. she wondered if they were just dead weight near Gemma.
"Sanctuary has changed a lot, it use to run like the mansion but with all the mutants who were bitter, hated humans or for one reason or another had a rap sheet. Less school and more your own rules kinda thing for only mutants, now under it's current owner humans are aloud" she said simply stating the fact. She felt superior to humans sure but she also knew she was not exactly with a power that could fight anyone.
"I would love if you could drop me off. Just make sure your stable when you fly, you'll be my first eagle you understand" she said a bit of flirtation in her tone. "It really has been a fun evening" she replied brushing some of her hair behind her.

She could only imagine maintenance of those wings, more so trying to keep them clean. Not to mention if he lost feathers like a few birds she had known it was prolbely a somewhat annoying task to keep them from piling up on the floor. She knew from experience that fur was bad and she did assume feathers were not quite as bad but she did not truly know and he was a big bird.
"Yea certainly no fun, yet never a shortage of worshipers at that throne" she agreed with him. She had seen plenty get themselves to that point though even those who well knew their limits. For some it was an escape and other just did not care. She had fortunately never been quite in that state of mind.
Xavoirs. Well she had nothing against the place it was somewhere she had never quite felt safe at. To worried about some kid trying to use her as a beer machine. Not only that she had never felt quite right around kid's never quite knew what to say or do with them. "So Like you graduated awhile ago and stayed?" she asked hoping he was older then the typical mansion resident. Typicle to her being kids and teenagers. "I was there a few times, but theirs no real way to shut off my power or give me direct control over when it happens.
She slammed down the shot. "I got an apartment not to far from Sanctuary. Had a few places over the years, turns out landlords get sour when they think your running a brewery in your apartment and confused when they find 15 kiddy pools" she said with a smile. That was no longer an issue but it was hard to keep an apartment from smelling like booze when you had pools of it.
"You the music teacher at the mansion these day's?" she asked curiously. It was a bit of a joke as Carrick did not seem the teacher type though one could often be surprised by others.

She smiled. "Well you certainly have the best plumage i have ever seen. I Like a high price you know" she shot back on the part about her being his date. She did not mind given the situation and bird boy was cute, of that their was no doubt at all. It had been an interesting night so far for sure, certainly one of the better ones she could recall.
"Just a shot of Goldschlager" she said catching the wink from her new bird friend. She noticed the bartender had gotten much attentive since the manager had come by and wondered if he had talking to him while they were not looking.
"A few times at first before i got a handle on things, took a few trips to the old porcelain throne. Mistakes mostly, but these day's? Only if i tried" she said reaching over to stroke his wing with her hand. She had a sudden curiosity to how his feathers might feel and the booze was making her a bit less inhibited as well. "So wheres your nest? she asked curiously wondering if he lived in the city or nearby but trying to be cute about it.

He seemed to have caught her backtracking and had to giggle a bit at that. Not having to worry about traffic had to be a serious time saver as well as not having to worry about streets. She was far less sure of doing such in any weather other then a clear night. "With traffic here, that could be worth far more. she said considering all the time she would have saved.
If the Manager radiated any more happiness, Melissa thought he might well explode. Like a kid who had just found his Christmas gifts. She caught Carricks eye on the Managers words, while Melissa did not think they were meant to hurt as the manager professed and Carrick played off, the comment still bothered her though a bit, both For Carrick and the idea of being professional.
She blushed at being called Carricks date, more from being unprepared for the comment then actually opposing the idea. Other then having just met him anyway. Workers always moved quickly when their bosses were watching or near and this one was no exception.
"We all have our bills and becides it's all just time and some mgaic" she said with a smile. Magic obviously referring to her power. In addition to working Melissa liked to drink others under the table for cash. "I could make that, perhaps tones down a little. Returning customers offer more prophet then dead ones" she said with a bit of a laugh.

"When the bar was up, i was somewhat close to sanctuary so i would get all kinds of questionable folk stop in" she explained though she had taken their money without question like anyone else. Still she had made it clear that she would not shield anyone from arrest either back then. She simply would never have risked her business she was beginning to understand the perks of not owning onces own business.
She smiled when he asked if she needed a lift. He had a friendly and disarming nature to him. She did not understand why it would be different taking them off ot putting them on but she was also not the one with giant wings, so what did she know?
She laughed at his she tripping over his words, it was rather cute. It's all right, i was mostly just curious. I think most people consider what being a bird would be like at some point" she said with a smile. She did wnat to go flying with Carrick but it was something she would not want to impose on him, assuming a lot of people likely asked him for rides.
Her smile faded a bit however as she looked at the bartender still seemingly ignoring Carrick. She kept her temper in check and used her feminine wiles to bring the bartender back over so they could order a few more drinks. The bartender saw her annoyance.
"When i find the right people i want to get my liquor recognized for sale, would be a lot of cash, but best laid plans and all. Would be a lot of faking equipment" she admitted considering what she might do to the bartender if he dared ignore them once more.

She smiled, it had been awhile since she had seen double. Most bars cut her off well before that point but she had when she ran the bar sampled her own creations to check on flavor, and the proof of it which she had then eyeballed so to speak. "I try to avoid it" she said truthfully missing the joke entirely.
"That is true, it ignites and that can deter people pretty well. I'm just glad i don';t turn the water in peoples bodies to booze" she said thinking how lethal that could actually be. It was something she had never considered while working at her bar. Maybe she just did not give herself the time. "Well if ya did you would be far from the first i have known" she said with a shrug. She was no fighter and she had doubts if she could actually kill anyone, human or not.
"Never tried but i would not think so. Not without considerable practice anyway" she said rolling the idea over in her mind. Her resistance would let her drink enough and keep her mind focused enough where she might be able to.
She took a drink and considered the man wings and tail again."Must be hard being so visible. Clothing must be a nightmare as well" she said wondering how he found anything that fit. "Can you fly with other people?" she asked curiously.
