The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

"Something of use to you hmm? Again your being rather vague, however if your referring to the samples you sent me earlier then yes, I believe I have found something."
Twisting his seat round once more Ingham turned away from Hunter and stretched a hand out towards an obsidian block decorated with a keypad. After deftly entering the required code there was a pneumatic hiss as the box split open and steam flowed over the edges. With a quick snap of his wrist James withdrew a slightly frosted vial of blood from it's place in the analyzer and held it up to the light. "The first sample you sent me is as good as useless to you" He informed the vampire in a sophisticated holier than though tone, "For some reason your little pet is able to repress his X gene while in human form making the sample nothing but an ordinary vial of blood"
Tossing the vial through the air and into his other hand James let the light shine of the off the glass as he inspected it with his eyes, as though hoping this would unravel it's secrets. "The sample I have here though, which was taken after the mutt had transformed, is rather interesting. The X gene is fully active and has had a clear impact on the hosts DNA. I attempted to combine a part of this sample with some of your own blood, but as you know your cells simply attacked the foreign presence and destroyed it before I could get any clear readings."
Finally putting the vial down he met Hunters eyes and a tone of disappointment almost his words for he hated to leave any puzzle incomplete. "Unless you obtain more of the creatures blood I cannot accurately predict what type of affect it would have on you"
Twisting back to face his monitors once more the good doctor resumed scanning the data before him.
Cafas: "Zephyr is the king of bad decisions, but if Sebby being weak to ghost is anything to go by, not so amazing at follow through."
Within the sterile confines of his lab Dr. Ingham gazed with an almost frightening focus upon the computer monitors before him. Displaying what seemed to be never ending lines of scrolling green text the sight would have made most people nauseous yet the good doctor showed no signs of queasiness as his sharp mind took in everything his precious machines told him.
The two blood samples Hunter had procured just recently had turned out to be both a disappointment and a challenge. The first sample the anti social doctor had received was something of a mystery; it had come from the ill educated mutt his vampiric employer had momentarily captured and then released. The strange thing about this blood sample was that although it did possess the x-gene it seemed almost… dormant? Yes that was a fitting description, the required gene was obviously there for he could see it on the monitors but it remained isolated from the rest of the DNA.
The second vial of blood he had received was a routine sample of mutant blood where the X gene was obviously active and had bonded itself to the hosts DNA causing a vast and noticeable change. The only thing that bothered the doctor was that it had come from the same specimen as the first sample which made almost no sense whatsoever. ‘A mutant is a mutant’ James told himself silently, ‘once the X gene is active it should not be possible for it to go into recession without an outside stimuli’ Although the doctors tone may appear somewhat frustrated he was in fact pleased, it had been a long time since he’d had anything he couldn’t unravel at a mere glance. This little project would be sure to keep him busy for…
“What have you found out?”
James flinched as his employer entered the room and allowed a slight scowl to decorate his features, the man had interrupted his thought process! If one of his aids had done that they would find themselves screaming in pain from a particularly nasty neural venom James kept hidden under his desk. Unfortunately Hunters physiology made annoyingly immune to most poisons, that coupled with his advanced reflexes were the only things that kept Ingham from taking any action against his employer.
Twisting his seat round the good doctor faced Hunter with a condescending sneer, “What have I found you ask? Many things, most of which would take you another lifetime to comprehend, I’m afraid you’ll have to be more specific.”
James knew that his words would only aggravate Hunter but he also knew that the vampire considered him to important to be killed.
Cafas: "Zephyr is the king of bad decisions, but if Sebby being weak to ghost is anything to go by, not so amazing at follow through."
Nodding absently as Hunter gave his permission Zephyr waited for his employer to exit the room before lifting an arm and drawing back his sleeve slightly to catch a glimpse of his rather thick wrist watch and his lips thinned. They had a few hours before nightfall but if one took into account the amount of time it would take to travel to their destination then they were suddenly on a tight schedule.
Dropping his arms back to his sides the elemental glanced at his partners, Simon knew next to nothing about Xiin but that was still more than he knew about this other Kabal recruit Hunter had pulled out of nowhere. Unfortunately for the moment he would have to remain in ignorance for there was little time to waste. Lifting his gaze to Jebidiah’s hazel eyes and then Xiin’s amber orbs Zephyr spoke clearly and slowly for he was uncertain how much of a grasp the lizard had on the English language and he did not wish to be misunderstood, " Make sure you find your way to the hanger in one hour. Do not be late”
Without another word the elemental then pivoted on his foot and strode out of the briefing room as he tried to recall where the armoury had been hidden in the labyrinth of hallways that was Mondragon labs.

((OOC: I'm going to create another thread either tonight or tomorrow where our characters basically equip themselves for the mission, after that's done there will be one more thread in which we actually get to do the mission.))
Zephyr nodded his head in acknowledgement of Hunter reply as he put the finishing touches on his final creation. So the man was giving them access to the very best was he? That was good, for not only did it mean they would have the necessary equipment, it also showed that the vampire placed a certain amount of significance on this mission. This was more than a simple test of their abilities; the scanner was important. The merc made a mental note of this fact, it was always worth knowing what possessions your employer valued or were valuable, so that when their grand plans came crashing down around their ears, or when they refused to pay out you knew what to… appropriate.
With a final flourish of his fingers Zephyr performed the last fold that completed his final creation. Examining his completed work with a skilled eye the elemental allowed a sense of satisfaction to pervade his mind as he found no flaws or errors, it truly was a masterpiece and it was with a certain amount of reverence that he lay the lotus flower among the middle of his other creations. The moment the paper had left his hands though the mercenary promptly dismissed such toys from his mind. They had served his purpose; he had crafted a plan for this odd assignment, there was no need to dwell on them any longer. So with a final thought the elemental gave the surrounding air the edge of a razor, reduced his creations to confetti and blew the scraps to a nearby waste bin.
Rising smoothly from his seat Zephyr prepared to the leave the war room, the briefing was all but officially over and he saw no point in lingering behind, not when he was in command of said mission. Still though it would not do to be rude and so he directed his azure gaze to his employer, “with your permission I'll begin the assignment immediately”
Even as the elemental uttered these words his thoughts were already drifting ahead as he tried to recall where the armory was located. Zephyr had every intention of taking advantage of his employers offer of free weaponry, in fact he had long considered the idea of purchasing a firearm of some kind. In the past he had never had need of one for his mutation had always proved itself superior to any trigger happy idiot he’d met in the criminal underworld. Now that he was in the United States though Zephyr found himself running into an unprecedented number of mutants, and most of them he’d noted only used their mutation and therefore expected others of their kind to do the same. If there was one thing the elemental detested it was being predictable in a fight. That was the reason he was so secretive about his abilities, that was the reason he worked on developing mutation to cope with any possible situation and that was the reason he was going to carry some type of firearm from this point on.
Cafas: "Zephyr is the king of bad decisions, but if Sebby being weak to ghost is anything to go by, not so amazing at follow through."
Zephyr’s hands paused for a moment as his vampiric employer began the mission briefing and his eyes darted momentarily to the hologram. However his idleness did not last long and soon his hands had begun their liquid movement once more as they slowly manipulated the sheaf of paper in his possession.
As the briefing progressed Zephyr soon finished his crane and placed it gently on the table before him before turning his focus to a new sheet of paper. While it may have appeared to the casual observer that the elemental was paying no mind to the proceedings a more experienced watcher would note that the mercs eyes would occasionally dart up to the hologram whenever the Kabal leader mentioned some key point of interest. When it came to the point where Hunter announced that Zephyr would be taking charge of this assignment the elementals hands froze for a second time and he slowly lifted his gaze to see what the other Kabal members thought of this decision, he was after all the youngest member present and he would not have been surprised to see looks of resentment. However it seemed that none of the Kabal had a problem with this, the lizard man even sent him a nod of acknowledgement when Hunter voiced his decision.
‘This may be simpler than I had anticipated’ the elemental mused as he once more returned his attention to the sheaf of paper he was slowly crafting to his will. The truth was that origami was the mercs way of relaxing, it was almost like a form of mediation for it allowed him to clear his mind and focus only on what was relevant. At this particular moment relevant subjects would be; the object they were to obtain, where it was stored, who their opposition would be and the tools they would have at their disposal. With these thoughts set as guidelines/objectives his conscious and unconscious mind swiftly went to work, comparing each of these guidelines to what he knew, making connections where it was of benefit and disregarding when it was necessary.
‘The base is located in Nevada. Nevada is a desert. Deserts are prone to sandstorms. Sandstorms reduce vision and disrupt communication. Night vision will therefore be rendered ineffective during a sandstorm, thermal vision would be more appropriate.’
“Would it be possible for the team to be equipped with thermal vision instead of, or along with the night vision?” Zephyr politely inquired, not once raising his eyes from the slowly growing shape in his hands. “I believe it would be more beneficial than night vision alone.”
Cafas: "Zephyr is the king of bad decisions, but if Sebby being weak to ghost is anything to go by, not so amazing at follow through."
Strolling casually through desolate hallways of Mondragon labs subterranean bowls Zephyr made his way towards what had been deemed the "War Room". An overly dramatic name in his humble opinion, after all they were not currently at war with anyone nor were they planning to be, to Zephyrs knowledge anyway.
'Briefing room would be a more appropriate title' he mused as he passed yet another of security checks scattered throughout the facility. 'The name is simple and perfectly explains the rooms purpose, it also has the added benefit of sounding mundane enough to be overlooked by any possible intruder.' Shrugging his shoulders in a slightly exasperated way the elemental did his best to remove the thought from his mind; he wasn't running the show, that would take up far too much of time not mention his funds.
At last coming to the controversially named "War room" Zephyr passed through the sliding doors without incident and gave a brief nod of recognition towards Hunter before heading towards the circular table. Although this was the first time he had been in this particular room he had been subjected to enough media to know what was supposed to happen. As he circled the table something caught his eye; a few sheets of paper had been left on one of the empty seats, presumably from a previous briefing but Zephyr wasn't going to question where this little treasure had come from, with a gesture the elemental summoned a light breeze which caught a single sheaf of paper and guided it towards his outstretched hand.
Allowing his mind to go blank Simon stared at the sheet in his hand, not bothering to take in the text that marked it's surface as he waited for a shape to enter his mind; wings...an elongated neck...the image of flight.
Simon smiled as he came his conclusion, 'Crane' the design was an old one but in the mercs opinion it was a classic, taking a small breath Simon closed his eyes as he felt the edges of the paper and slowly began to fold it in apparently random places as he followed an almost millennia old design.
Cafas: "Zephyr is the king of bad decisions, but if Sebby being weak to ghost is anything to go by, not so amazing at follow through."
As Simon's own watch began to vibrate the elemental nodded at Dakota's words, their little skirmish was over for the time being, Hunter required their services.
Releasing his grip upon the winds Zephyr descended in a gentle spiral as he headed back towards the labs. It was time to earn his pay.

Cafas: "Zephyr is the king of bad decisions, but if Sebby being weak to ghost is anything to go by, not so amazing at follow through."
Zephyr observed silently as he watched Dakota break free from the earth, he hadn't truly expected that to stop his opponent, in fact the elemental would have been disappointed if it did. He was somewhat shocked though when the parasite demonstrated his own levitation abilities and flew until he was almost level with the British mercenary. Zephyr then allowed Dakota to proceed with his trivial taunt and was hard pressed to keep a smirk from his face; for as the crime lord was talking he was slowly losing altitude which suggested that flight was far more difficult for him then it was the elemental who could easily the soar the open sky's for hours if not days.
Allowing Dakota to return to the earth Simon waited for the young man to demonstrate one of the "tricks" he had boasted about only seconds earlier. The next thing the elemental knew his body seemed to have gained 200 hundred pounds in weight and he was plummeting towards the ground at a frightening rate. Acting swiftly he closed his eyes and summoned a hurricane force wind beneath him, the ploy worked and Zephyr's descent was halted, but the amount of energy he was using to remain aloft would not last forever. 'The question is how long can he continue to manipulate gravity?' for that was surely what the parasite was doing.
Glancing back down at Dakota he noted the mans smug grin and promptly decided cancel their little battle of tug of war and wipe the smirk from his opponents face. Discarding the hurricane force winds that had kept him aloft the elemental allowed himself to plummet back down to the earth and at the last few seconds before impact summoned a vicious air current to alter his trajectory so that Dakota was placed underneath him. Before the young crime lord had a chance to move Simon performed a devastating drop kick to the mans chest, delivering all the momentum he had gained into his opponent and causing him to land on his rear on the parched earth.
As soon as the blow connected Simon felt his body shed the excess weight it had suddenly gained and he once more took off to the air, 'Now let us discover the range of your abilities' Zephyr thought to himself as he climbed high and higher into the atmosphere and Dakota was little more than a speck a on the earth, but an easily seen speck none the less. Simon would not allow himself to lose sight of his opponent after all.
As soon as the words left Dakota's lips the elemental shot towards the young crime lord with the force of a rocket. Normally such a tactic would be suicide for Zephyr considering that his physique was less impressive. There was however a method behind the apparent madness to this move, Simon wanted to discover how well Dakota performed when under pressure and the elemental couldn't think of a better way to stress the young man than getting right in his face.
Unfortunately this plan was swiftly ripped to shreds as Simon felt a blinding pain between his eyes which forced him to veer off course. The pain vanished almost as soon as it had appeared though and Zephyr was quickly back in control as he manipulated the air streams that carried him and swerved around to Dakota's right.
The elemental then moved his arm in a slashing motion and sent an invisible blade of wind not at Dakota, Simon had learned better after his little stunt in the lab, but at the ground beneath his feet. The blade impacted the dry dirt and a wall of earth rose up covered the parasitic mutant, momentarily blinding him and hopefully getting into his eyes.
With his distraction in place Simon shot off once again, not towards his opponent but into the open sky, ensuring that the sun remained behind him as he did, so that if Dakota did somehow happen to maintain his vision he would be blinded if he discovered Simon's new position.
'Is capable of performing attacks outside the normal visible spectrum, possibly a high frequency laser' Zephyr mentally noted his observation and waited to see how Dakota would react.
Cafas: "Zephyr is the king of bad decisions, but if Sebby being weak to ghost is anything to go by, not so amazing at follow through."
Zephyr proceeded calmly through the mass of hallways that was Mondragon labs, he'd intended to go out into the city and maybe test out the gifts he'd gotten from Hunter. However Dakota had been adamant that they had some kind of quarrel to settle and had challenged to a "spar" in the grounds surrounding the labs.
Normally the elemental would have refused such a challenge stating it is a waste of time that could be spent exploring New York or practicing his origami. Unfortunately though Dakota's mutation was annoyingly powerful and was a natural enemy to Simon's own abilities, so he'd decided to accept this invitation in order to test Dakota's and his own limits and try and gain a deeper understanding of his "teammates" abilities.
As he finally emerged from the labs and into the clouded sunlight Simon took a moment to scan his surroundings and swiftly located his "sparring" partner near a cluster of trees, 'Must be recharging himself'' Zephyr noted as he took to the air and closed in on Dakota's position, stopping ten feet away, plenty of space to react any cheap shots the young crime lord tried to pull." "So when do you want to start this nonsense?"
Cafas: "Zephyr is the king of bad decisions, but if Sebby being weak to ghost is anything to go by, not so amazing at follow through."
"...You don’t need to ware the watch, just keep it close...
Simon nodded at Hunters reply, he still wasn't keen on this latest gadget but he wasn't stubborn enough to continue arguing. Picking up the sleek Rolex watch he gave it a quick one over before placing it in his pocket.
Hunter then gave them the details of their first mission, ironically enough it seemed that Zephyr would be heading back Sanctuary; the supposed "haven" he had left not three hours ago. The nature of the mission was pure reconnaissance and that suited the elemental just fine, he was not eager to become involved in a battle against what could possibly be an army of mutants.
Following Dakota the British merc was led to yet another section of the labs where he was introduced to Dr. Ingram, a self centered sole if ever Simon had seen one. The man clearly had no interest in their presence and briskly gave the two Kebal members additional surveillance equipment and intelligence reports, he explained everything he was doing with a low, monotonous voice that could rivals the elementals own.
As he left the labs Simon took his time to survey the intelligence reports, he would let Dakota go on ahead of him, hopefully the parasitic mutant would cuase some kind of ruckus that would allow Simon to enter the building with relatively little notice. If not he could always say he was looking for work again.
Heading out in to the grounds surrounding Mondragon Labs Simon never took his eyes of the intelligence report as he flexed his will and summoned an air current to lift him up into the sky and back to New York City, it was time to earn his rather generous paycheck.

Cafas: "Zephyr is the king of bad decisions, but if Sebby being weak to ghost is anything to go by, not so amazing at follow through."
As Zephyr waited for Hunters response the elemental once more spotted movement from the corner of his vision, whipping his head round he spotted Dakota leeching energy from light bulb. The young crime lord did not appear too pleased and so when he raised a finger and pointed it at the elemental Zephyr's body reacted with an instinct that had been instilled from multiple shootouts he had experienced from his time in Europe. Shifting his weight Simon pivoted on his right foot and angeled his body away from whatever Dakota had fired at him.
Unfortunately Simon wasn't quite fast enough for he felt burning pain slice across his hip which caused a grimace to form on his features for an instant. Focusing his attention fully upon Dakota Zephyr considered unleashing another gale upon the man but quickly dismissed the idea; there was no point in allowing himself to be dragged down to Dakota's level of immaturity, however he still felt compelled to make a comment, "I suggest you mature quickly, grown men have no business behaving like newborn infants"
Dakota's response to this was to turn to Hunter and automatically declare that he found Zephyr's fee "outrageous" and that Hunter should not be required to pay a thing. Needless to say Simon's impression of Dakota did not improve.
"Dakota kindly keep yourself out of subjects that do not concern you" Although this was said in Zephyr's usual flat monotone it carried with it an unmistakable air of malice.
Before the young crime lord could say anything in response though Hunter interrupted the little quarrel, “You start at three million, and will increase if you perform well.”
The elemental immediately returned his full attention to Hunter as this good new met his ears, while he hadn't expected to get hi asking price three million was far from a pittance. Nodding at his new employer Simon allowed a small smile to form on his features, he was now officially in the black and could spend his time on more pleasant activities.
When Hunter presented the Rolex watches though Simon quickly faded and was replaced by his normal impassive mask. The mercenary already had a watch and he was no hurry to be parted with it. Glancing at the somewhat bulky metallic chronometer on his wrist Zephyr allowed a small frown to form, the watch had been a present from his sister and was now the only thing he had from her since he had faked his death. He was not going to have it replaced no matter how expensive the Rolex was, "I fail to see why you cannot simply contact us via cell phone. They would arose less suspicion and if your team is good they bounce the signal halfway around the globe to prevent anyone from tracking us."
Cafas: "Zephyr is the king of bad decisions, but if Sebby being weak to ghost is anything to go by, not so amazing at follow through."
“Zephyr, you’re hired. What’s your usual going rate?”
Zephyr turned to face Hunter and considered his answer for a moment, he normally varied his rate based on how much his client could afford but he never went below a quarter of a million, nor did he give discounts for that would only create a precedent he didn't he want. Taking everything he had seen and heard of hunter into account Simon decided he would easily afford to up his usual rate.
"Five million" he uttered simply as he kept his eyes focused Hunters features, searching for any kind of response, 'is it too much or I have wasted a golden opportunity?'
Yet at Hunter next words it was Zephyr who felt himself become shocked; the man knew of his ability to manipulate oxygen, a skill the elemental had only recently perfected and considered his new trump card. 'Where is he getting his information?' Simon wondered as he fought to keep the annoyance off his face, he was supposed to be the one who observed and cataloged people, he did not relish the role reversal.
The specially designed tranquilizers were a unique gadget and one that Zephyr found most intriguing. It was likely that the elemental would spend the next few nights testing the darts range, accuracy and duration on countless unsuspecting victims across the city. After all what was the point of having a new toy if you weren't allowed to use it?
It was at this point in time that Dakota made a reappearance. Zephyr caught the mutants movement out of the corner of his eye and braced himself for an attack, but none came. Instead it seemed as though Dakota had been impressed by Simon's little stunt, going so far as to say that the elemental had earned his respect.
'A pity I cannot say the same for you'
Of course Zephyr didn't voice his thoughts, that would only lead to another confrontation that he truly didn't want to be bothered with. He had other things to do, new toys to test and all that.
Not responding to Dakota's statement Simon glanced back at Hunter and asked, "How soon will you be needing my services?"
Cafas: "Zephyr is the king of bad decisions, but if Sebby being weak to ghost is anything to go by, not so amazing at follow through."
“Very good, I like to see that my people can work beyond the obvious. However, you’ve only shown me how well you think, and I didn’t hire you just for the brains.”
"It's brains that keep you alive, you should know that, old as you are" Zephyr's response was flat and carried only a hint of the irritation he was feeling at having to repeat his task. 'I could simply destroy the launchers' he mused as the technicians set to work, 'but then he'd probably summon more, he has the resources'.
Keeping his expression bland Zephyr hunched over as he waited for the launchers to be repaired and restocked. 'This truly is a waste of time' he thought absently, 'I could be wandering the city or flying over to the statue of liberty right about now'. Now that his immediate problem of employment had been dealt with, he was turning his attention to other activities, namely those as a wanderer, or to put it crudely, a tourist.
As the mechanics were finishing up with the clay launchers Simon suddenly felt himself assaulted by a bout of fatigue that was in no way natural. Considering what he'd seen only a few minutes ago it didn't take the elemental long to figure the cause of his exhaustion, 'I'm not going to be a snack for some bloody parasite'. Flexing his will Simon swiftly summoned a localized hurricane which blew Dakota across the lab and into one of the sterile white walls.
"If you cannot control your hunger find someone else to leech from" the elemental intoned monotonously without turning his head.
As the technicians finally finished with the launchers Zephyr focused on the his given task once again and allowed the clay shots to be fired properly. Simon's strategy this time instead of slicing his targets was to create a small but powerful cyclone around the pedestals that sucked in every shot and caused them to orbit the glasses instead of smashing them. When the last shot had been fired Zephyr shut the metaphorical lid to his gift and allowed the clay shot to crash to the floor once more.
Zephyr sighed, his turn had come after all and it seemed as though Hunter was rather well informed for he had correctly stated the nature of the elementals powers and arranged a test to measure his control, 'Once more I am called up to the stage without a fitting a role, still I suppose this is what I asked for when I came to America''
Glancing over the pedestals and glasses of water placed atop of them Simon noted that they had not been tipped or angled to make their balance precarious in any way. He had been given a fair test then, but still not much of a test. What mainly people failed to realize about air was that it was not constrained to any one shape of mold like solid matter was. Instead like a river, air currents could bend, twist and double back over them selves with startling complexity that most people would find inspiring. It was a shame that most were ignorant of this fact, but it was one of the many reasons Simon held an advantage in battle.
Shifting his weight away from the wall he had been leaning against Simon proceeded towards the designated circle a casual pace with his hands in his pockets. His eyes were locked on the launchers as he slowly made his way forward, examining their design for anything that would aid him.
The launchers were obviously an expensive piece of equipment with three fully functioning barrels connected to a motor which rotated them at an even speed. This meant that in actuality he had to watch 15 targets since the clay could be fired from an barrel without a moments notice and could cover twenty feet in practically no time at all. Despite the launchers finely crafted firing mechanism though, it still contained a massive flaw in it's over all design. All five of the contraptions were balanced on tripods which were connected to the firing device by a single joint, this had been to allow the user to freely choose the angle of the projectiles but in the case of this little test it was serious flaw that Simon planned to exploit to the fullest.
Upon moving to the center of the circle Simon kept his hands motionless with in the confines of his pockets and tossed his head back to Hunter as he called out, "Ready when you are"
The instant the words left his lips the elemental had extended his senses to the air space surrounding the launchers and immediately crafted it to his will. Giving it the edge of a finely crafted katana and the intensity of a class five hurricane he sliced off the rear leg from each tripod causing all of the launchers to fall backwards and aim a good twenty feet above the pedestals. The clay shots were fired at a rapid pace yet Zephyr did not interfere with their trajectory in the slightest, why would he? He had accomplished his goal, for as the final clay shot collided with the ground the glasses of water remained untouched.
