The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

"Everything has been recorded" Ingham replied in a dismissive voice. He didn't really care that Hunter had used his first name; it wasn't as if he made any attempt to hide it like some of the riff raff the vampire chose to employ. A name was nothing really, simply a title used to get someone’s attention.
With his fingers still darting over the keyboard the doctor continued speaking amongst the numerous clicks of keys, "I will analyze the results of your experimentation after I have dealt with the stasis ability... As for your need of secrecy I fail to see why you cannot simply inject yourself before she arrives, bear in mind though that it will take me a week to replicate the sample that I have left so unless she submits to regular "blood tests" your time for training her will be few and far between."
Glancing away from the monitors for a moment James cast a bad tampered look at the silent aid who had overheard the entire conversation, "Are you still here?" the doctor asked in the tone of one not expecting an answer, "I thought you were intelligent enough to realize you were no longer needed, now leave before you interrupt one of my more delicate experiments."
As the unfortunate aid all but ran out of the door Ingham turned back to his many monitors and once more became surrounded by the eerie green glow.
Cafas: "Zephyr is the king of bad decisions, but if Sebby being weak to ghost is anything to go by, not so amazing at follow through."
"C-certainly Mr. Antonescu" The aid stammered as he quickly searched the computer directories for the nearest freezer in the facility. This turned out to be the kitchens that served the guards barracks and the aid muttered a curse, the kitchen staff were far from computer savvy and they rarely ever touched the terminal that was in their kitchen. Still he pulled up the appropriate program and tried to initiate a phone call with the cooking staff.
Much to the aides surprise the phone was answered after only the third ring, a record time to be sure. After briskly informing the staff of their employers requests the young quickly opened up his end of the speaker system to Hunter, "I- I've just gotten in touch with the kitchen staff sir they should have the ice up momentarily"
Cafas: "Zephyr is the king of bad decisions, but if Sebby being weak to ghost is anything to go by, not so amazing at follow through."
A frown tugged at the corner of the doctors lips as he heard Hunters request, was the damn vampire reliant on him to do everything? The man may have come from the stone age but surely he had worked out how to use a computer terminal by now? Disregarding Hunters request for the moment James reimmersed himself in his work, he had far more important, not to mention interesting to take care of, however since as it was likely that Hunter would only interrupt him again the doctor decided he may as well summon one his aides to perform the cretinous task of summoning more targets.
Striking out blindly with his left hand Ingham reached under his desk for the hidden trigger that would call one of his incompetent aides to his lab. Strangely though his questing digits found a small but firm barrier blocking his way. Pausing in his activities for a moment James racked his mind until he recalled that a new button had been placed under desk just recently. He only remembered becuase the technicians had prevented him from using his computers for over an hour. This new trigger was supposed to be a back up of the detonator he carried around in his pocket in case he lost it and one of Hunters unruly pets made an attempt to vacate the premises.
Dismissing the useless thought from his mind James continued to search under his desk for another few seconds until he found the required switch. A minute or so later his lab doors slid open and a young man in a white lab coat entered nervously.
"Y-you wanted to see me professor" the man mumbled anxiously.
"Take control of one of the lesser terminals and activate a squadron of hover drones testing area five. I have given you access to the speaker system in that area bu not the camera feed, do anything our employer requests of you." James intoned in a bored manner.
"Y-yes sir" the man moved quickly to the nearest computer and after stumbling over his log in managed to activate the drones that the doctor had specified.
Cafas: "Zephyr is the king of bad decisions, but if Sebby being weak to ghost is anything to go by, not so amazing at follow through."
"Yes I did" the doctor intoned monotonously as he responded to Hunter question, "It would indeed seem that the specimen possess the ability to appropriate the energy of molecules as well as grant it, the results I have from the second phase of testing conclude that there was no outside interference with the spheres and that their temperatures rose sharply just before detonation."
James then began opening various other programs as he utilized the abundant processing power at his command. After a moment he spoke again but his tone was coloured with a hint of puzzlement, "Strangely though the orb that was frozen did not experience any drop in temperature, it appears to have simply gone into a state of stasis for the few seconds you exercised your borrowed abilities... I shall need to explore this further detail."
Frowning at this conundrum, the idea of complete stasis was an intriguing one, if it could be replicated, and James was certain that it could, it would allow him an unheard of level of control in his future experiments. Locking his fingers together and then stretching them out before him the good doctor was rewarded with a satisfying crack of his fingers before he let his hand dance over the keyboard in front of him like a master pianist, opening multiple calculation programs and analyzing software as he set the rest of vast processing power to work. Multiple windows flashed up before him one second only to be dealt and minimized the next as they were replaced by more, the answers did not come immediately and though that might have irritated some James was simply pleased at having something to occupy his time. The idea of failure never occurred to the anti social professor, he would have the answers he sought, nothing had ever eluded him before and this trifling puzzle would be no exception.
Cafas: "Zephyr is the king of bad decisions, but if Sebby being weak to ghost is anything to go by, not so amazing at follow through."
Examining a series of fluctuating bar graphs and rotating pie charts James allowed a satisfied to grin to settle on his thin lips, his second theory seemed to hold some water. Throughout the entire second phase of testing the doctor had been monitoring the physical status of each of the spheres as accurately as possible. While he had confirmed that there was no external forces influencing the spheres he had found that the temperature of each orb had risen violently just before they detonated.
Heat was not an uncommon factor in explosions, indeed it was almost always present, for it represented the energy that was ripping the object apart at the molecular level. However this was often due to a chemical reaction, in this case there were no volatile chemicals to initiate such an increase in heat. This would suggest that Ms Evans power lay in the ability to excite molecules to the point where they gained enough energy to not only break free of their bonds but to move violently enough to simulate a chemical explosion.
Smug grin still present on his features the good doctor once more repeated his commands as Hunter requested more targets. He would not inform his employer of his findings just yet, the man seemed to enjoy experimenting and who knows perhaps the vampire would work out the science on his own? Even as the thought occurred him James could not resist a silent chuckle, Hunter may indeed be hundreds of years old but he had the scientific knowledge of a highschool dropout.
Cafas: "Zephyr is the king of bad decisions, but if Sebby being weak to ghost is anything to go by, not so amazing at follow through."
Keeping his attention focused on the detonating spheres James reqound the footage of each explosion as each one happened before watching them again at an extreme slow speed and placing film through various filters. After a moment it became obvious that Hunter wasn't directing any type of laser or some invisible concussive blast so that eliminated the doctors first theory.
As the final sphere was destroyed and Hunter took deep calming breaths to subdue his rage Ingham switched his attention to another screen as he type down short concise notes and started forming a new theory to explain Ms Evans powers, however he was interrupted by his employer who boasted that he believed he had completed the basics and wanted more targets. Letting out an exasperating sigh James deftly opened a new window on the screen and repeated one of his earlier commands causing another set of podiums to rise up at the other end of the test area.
Cafas: "Zephyr is the king of bad decisions, but if Sebby being weak to ghost is anything to go by, not so amazing at follow through."
Glancing at the many screens that now surrounded his form Ingham let his eyes dart to and fro and as he scanned the illuminated green text that detailed Trista Evans genetic code, it was unique to be sure, but then again since no two people are exactly the same this wasn't saying much. The code he had so far was incomplete and the doctor was struggling not to show his impatience at being left with so little to work with now that Hunter had his primary sample. He could have coursed used the secondary sample but that was already in the replicator and it was pointless interrupt the process once it started.
Fortunately at this time Hunter finally managed to arrive at the prescribed testing area and the moment James heard the vampire's voice he brought up a live camera feed of the area as well as activating the two way speaker system.
"Targets you say, did you have anything in particular in mind?" Even as the good doctor said this his hands were already trailing over the keyboard, entering commands at a lightening pace that came from years of experience. In moments he had accessed the system control panel, laying the entire rooms facilities at his command. From here could activate flame throwers, assualt droids and even a clichéd giant rolling sphere similar to the kind seen in Indiana Jones films. At the moment though he saw no needs for these rather flamboyant tools and instead summoned the most basic of targets.
Inside test area 5 a low whirring was heard as electricity surged through hidden cables and various motors began to turn. The floor underneath hunter trembled ever so slightly as a set of podiums rose from the floor, when they reached a height of five feet the ceased their ascent and a small sphere rose up from a tiny hollow located inside each of the podiums.
"Begin when you are ready" the doctors dull voice echoed through the speakers.
Cafas: "Zephyr is the king of bad decisions, but if Sebby being weak to ghost is anything to go by, not so amazing at follow through."
Continuing to stare at his employer balefully James remained silent as he considered his possibilities. One option was to continue an eventually fruitless argument with Hunter that would waste both their time, as the man before seemed quite eager to move a head as fast as possible this option was quite attractive, however the doctor had no desire to waste his own time in such an immature endeavor. A second option would simply be to give Hunter what he wanted, while not nearly as satisfying this option would allow him to return to research almost immediately…
Rising from his seat Ingham swiftly crossed the lab as he moved to the computer bank that lined the entire left wall of the laboratory. Sliding into a clear plastic chair and let his fingers dance over the keyboard before him. In seconds he had logged onto the facilities mainframe and accessed the incomplete results Trista's blood examination, hitting a few more keys with rapid speed James terminated the analysis, a moment later obsidian analyzer had split itself open and revealed a single vial containing a sample of Trista's life essence. Grasping the vial he loaded it into a nearby dart gun and tossed it through the air to Hunter.
“I require most of what you gave me to complete my research, however what you have should be sufficient for your purposes. Head to test area 5, I shall control and monitor all your experiments from here” Sliding deftly back into the seat set in front of the multiple glowing monitors Ingham turned his back on his employer.
Cafas: "Zephyr is the king of bad decisions, but if Sebby being weak to ghost is anything to go by, not so amazing at follow through."
Examining a portion of Trista's blood sample under a microscope while the rest was in the pitch black analyzer Dr. Ingham adjusted the lens focus until he was capable of discerning the individual blood cells that floated in the plasma. The girl was obviously a mutant that much was certain, James had become quite proficient over the years at spotting the traits of the X gene, so much so that they now stood out to him like a neon sign.
Hearing the door to his labs slide open the good doctor lifted his eye from the microscope and cast a baleful eye at his visitor. He had been expecting Hunter to visit him at some point today after he had received his latest samples, but this was too soon. James had only acquired the samples 20 minutes ago and so had had barely any time to properly examine them. If his vampiric employer thought that he was getting results so soon he was sorely mistaken.
“I trust you received Miss Evans’ sample. Tell me what you have learned about it? I plan another live test, as once I know the mental triggers for her powers I can train her to control it.” "You realise that you are being reckless and impatient? You have gievn me less than half an hour to determine the mutation of a specimen whose blood could possibly cause you to combust? Science is a precise art Hunter, not something that can be called upon in an instant" The entire time the doctors voice had been a dull monotone yet it carried with it a level of scorn.
Cafas: "Zephyr is the king of bad decisions, but if Sebby being weak to ghost is anything to go by, not so amazing at follow through."
Watching the softly glowing monitors before him with an air of boredom Dr. Ingham eyes glanced back and forth between the wolfish figure in the centre of the screen and the tiny digital clock in the bottom right hand corner. 'Not long left now' the scientist thought idly as he added a few more notes on the clipboard. If this form was anything like Hunter previous experiences the hulking great beast displayed on camera would be reverting back to a man very shortly. The good doctor wondered if his employer would complete the course before he was forced to revert and if he did revert would he able to complete the maze in normal form?
Sadly though the doctors queries went unanswered as the sound of lumbering footsteps alerted him to Hunters presence, “Well... How did I do?”
Taking a moment to save the results and log out from the terminal James kept his gaze focused on the notes he had inscribed earlier as he spoke in a weary tone, "Your performance was satisfactory I suppose. It is obvious you lose much of your agility in that form yet your new regenerative abilities allowed you to blunder though." Taking a moment to glance at his watch Ingham released a tired sigh, "I had wanted to try one more test involving the use of silver, however it doesn't seem as though we have the time." Even as James uttered these words Hunters form began to convulse, shedding hair at a rapid rate and shrinking down to it's former size. " I shall take what results I have and see what conclusions can be made" James said, noting down the time at which Hunter had reverted but otherwise not reacting in the slightest to the this abnormal behaviour.
Without so much as a glance at his vampiric employer Dr. Ingham strolled out of the room and made his way casually back to the sterile confines of his lab.
Staring at the results displayed on the glowing monitor before James raised a single eyebrow as the animated chart displaying pressure rose well above it's expected level. Jotting down another small note on his clip board the good doctor did a few brief calculations in his head and came to the conclusion that this bizzare new form granted his employer enough strength to crush the barrel of an ordinary tank with ease.
Seeing that Hunter was now waiting patiently for his next exercise James decided to pull out the big guns. Entering a few final commands into the computer console Ingham planted himself against the wall as the whole room started to vibrate, with an irritating slowness sections of the floor began to rise upwards until the met the ceiling. The newly formed walls then began to shift, grinding along the floor until they created a complex labyrinth. "Your next and possibly final exercise is one of stamina, speed and wit" the doctor began in a dull monotone, glancing towards the entrance of the newly constructed maze and gestured, "Simply get from one end of the maze to other... in one piece"
Cafas: "Zephyr is the king of bad decisions, but if Sebby being weak to ghost is anything to go by, not so amazing at follow through."
As the hulking behemoth that was Hunter's new form tore into it's task with vigor Dr. Ingham watched dispassionately, his analytical eyes taking in every detail as his pencil laden hand swept across the page attached to his clipboard, jotting down anything he thought to be of significance.
As Hunter finally finished his test by heaving the over sized sand bag over the marked line James could be found at the computer terminal once again as he entered his findings into the labs database and pulled up the next sequence of test codes.
"Whats next?"
The good doctor sighed, one would have thought that someone as old as his employer would have learned a modicum of patience, unfortunately the beast behind seemed about as impatient as a five year old.
Not bothering to turn his head James kept his eyes fixed at the computer terminal before he selected the next piece of equipment. The hum of electricity once more resounded throughout the room along with the creaking of gears as a two foot diameter hole materialized in the floor. From within this sudden hollow a thick metallic pole began to emerge, when the column reached seven feet in height the top two feet abruptly fell over to create a right angle, making an upside down L shape.
Calling out over his shoulder the good doctor began to explain this next exercise, "The pole you see before you is actually a complex machine design to measure pressure, we are going to see exactly how powerful those new jaws are, the outer shell is constructed from adamantium so I would urge you not to hold back..." the good doctor paused for a moment and then continued, "while your at test out your claws as well. I doubt they'll make a dent but one can never be sure"
Cafas: "Zephyr is the king of bad decisions, but if Sebby being weak to ghost is anything to go by, not so amazing at follow through."
Seeing that his employer was once again breathing on his own James placed the dart gun on an empty bench and went to examine the results his nano machines had managed to record in their final moments. Aside from the obvious physical changes and the massive increase in strength that came with it Hunters new form also seemed have improved senses but slightly slower reflexes due to the increase in muscle mass.
“So... What’s next now that I’m breathing again?”
Ingham turned to face the detained creature and he let his features slide back into the familiar condescending sneer, it would be a long time before he forgave Hunter for the destruction of his nano machines, most likely when hell froze over . "Well there are quite a few things we could do" he said haughtily, "However since you repeatedly refuse my requests to perform open surgery that somewhat limits are options."
Stepping towards the containment chamber James blindly entered the necessary release codes so that Hunter could exit the room freely. It was apparent that the man had control of the more feral side of this mutation but knowing his employer the man would to want to test the other aspects of his new form. A small grin lit the scientists face as he swiftly concocted a plan; Hunter would no doubt want to test his new strength against some of the other brain dead muscle men he kept on his payroll, well James had other plans in mind. Grabbing a plastic clipboard lying near his desk the thin man made his down one the maze of hallways that was Mondragon labs.
"Follow me"
---
Sometime later after navigating the labyrinth of corridors Dr. Ingham stopped at the entrance to a large open area. The space was most akin to a gym, there were marking on the floor and various apparatus decorated the walls along with a few machines.
Moving over to one of the terminals near the entrance James began typing away as he started creating his testing regime. A indeterminate amount of time later a wall panel slowly began to slide away revealing what was essentially a giant sand bag that would easily require more than thirty men to move.
"Your first test will be one of strength, move this bag twenty feet"
Cafas: "Zephyr is the king of bad decisions, but if Sebby being weak to ghost is anything to go by, not so amazing at follow through."
James watched with fascinated eyes Hunters body swiftly began to mutate, growing taller and more menacing until it could almost rival the original creature. Adjusting a few dials on the panel in front of him the doctor made sure that the various cameras set in place around the room were focused correctly. At the end of this little session anyone with the proper clearance would be able to see this first transformation in 3D like those deplorable matrix movies.
A shrill beebing from another console caught the scientists attention and he hurried over to discover it's cause. The machine in question was the one recording data from the nano machines and from Ingham could see it seemed that the mutant blood in Hunter's system was causing his metabolism to increasing at a worrying rate, causing his body to consume all of the human blood he had taken just yesterday. At this pace it wouldn't be long before the vampire started suffocating. What truly horrified the doctor though was the fact that Hunters body was swiftly destroying the miraculous nano machines he had spent months creating and although he had predicted this might happen it didn't make the reality any easier.
"M-my precious machines" the mans voice nearly wavered as he watched the little lights representing his miniature droids die out one by one.
It was at this point that Hunter's metabolism caught up with him, causing the hulking giant to collapse to his knees as His lungs cried out for oxygen that his own blood couldn't carry. He tried to voice his needs to the doctor but his voice was too dry, he barely make a comprehensible sound. Fortunately though another computer terminal dedicated to monitoring Hunters vitals became a blare a warning siren that dragged Ingham from his stupor and brought him to his senses. Moving with determined slowness the scientists almost resembled a sulky child as he reluctantly loaded another dart with human blood and fired it through the containment chamber at his employer.
Cafas: "Zephyr is the king of bad decisions, but if Sebby being weak to ghost is anything to go by, not so amazing at follow through."
Doctor Inghams eyes lit up as he heard Hunter suggestion, such a possibility had occurred to the scientist however he hadn't been sure the vampire would have agreed to such a request. The man had hired him to predict the effects any mutant blood would have on him after all, it seemed somewhat contradictory that the man would agree to have it the sample simply injected into him directly. Still James wasn't going to complain if it brought him results that much sooner.
Rising out of his chair the good doctor moved swiftly around the lab collecting variuos pieces of equipment and speaking as he did so, "If your going to insist on such a haphazard method to obtain results then I shall need to take certain steps to ensure that I can obtain as much data as possible"
Stopping before a a large bank of humming machines the Ingham began typing rapidly, causding the eletrical hum to build to a climax before suddenly dieing down. In the centre of a room a circular pillar slowly began to rise up from the floor. when it reached wait height the pillar stopped and the top split open revealing a medium size bacteria dish. Gazing at the dish for a moment with a pleased expression on his face the doctor quickly retrieved a syringe a stole a sample of whatever liquid had been in the dish before injecting its contents into the vial of werewolf blood. "What I have just added to the sample is a number of nano machines, once they are injected they shall infiltrate your blood stream and analyse whatever changes your body undergoes during your absorption of the werewolf blood. These nano machines are relatively new and are time consuming to make, so I am only adding a small number of them because I am unsure how your body will react to them."
A loud "snap" finished the doctors words as he loaded the vial into a pistol like piece of equipment. Moving swiftly towards Hunter the scientist made a few adjusts to the tool before handing it to his employer, "We will only get one shot at this as it will take me over a week to replicate the mutts blood, so remember to aim the barrel at yourself."
Cafas: "Zephyr is the king of bad decisions, but if Sebby being weak to ghost is anything to go by, not so amazing at follow through."
