The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

Vibe leaned back a bit in surprise as Packmaster shot across the room. Soon an imish smirk settled onto her pale face as the raging testosterone levels rose in the back of the room. Typical macho behavior. She wasn't sure who to root for; the Lone Rude Ranger who dared to challenge an entire room of mutants, or the mutants she knew for a fact to be much more dangerous than they appeared.
>What do you think, sis? Should we stay spectators, or join in the fun?<
Amp's stare remained blank. However, a high-pitched whistle abruptly shattered the air. It was amplified around Packmaster and Gore specifically, but anyone with decent hearing likely would have cringed.
"I suggest," she stressed, pointedly looking at the two men, "that you two either save the fighting for later, or take it outside. Syn put a lot of effort into building this place. Let's at least try to keep it clean for her."
She dimissed them with a glance and turned back to Syn. "I, for one, want to hear more about that dominance you mentioned. Specifically the 'how' and 'when'."

Amp watched Issie go to greet a raggedy newcomer who wanted to hide in the back. Vibe was preoccupied with the wolf-whisper to translate, and the pair were too far away to read lips, so she let her attention wander elsewhere.
It chose to wander to Grit. Briefly she wondered what he had decided to do after they were kicked out of the Labs. Vibe had told her that he had asked about where they were staying, and if Syn would let him come as well. She wasn't sure what to think about that. On one hand, he was human, and a man. But on the other, she really owed him her life. She felt something akin to gratitude, and a need to repay him. And, he was nice. For a human, anyway.....
"Welcome to Sanctuary for those of you who are new here, and welcome home to those who have been here from the beginning. As you all can see things have been very busy around here in getting Sanctuary back in order and adding some new additions such as this."
Vibe brought Syn's speech to her attention, and she turned to 'listen'.
From the pews, Vibe listened and translated for her sister, while observing the expressions on the others' faces.
If anyone of you would like to say something then please feel free to do so."
No one seemed eager to accept the invitation, though the facial expressions spoke obvious agreement. Finally Amp snickered from next to the throne, and spoke up, her tone taunting.
"I dunno Syn. Everyone's awful silent all of a sudden. Maybe they disagree? Maybe they feel humans are superior after all."

(OOC: Sometime later.... lol)
Amp made her way to Syn's room, her attitude considerably more subdued than normal. She wore a pensive frown, completely out of place with her bright wardrobe of gold and green. Also, Vibe was nowhere to be seen.
“That would be amazing, just anything would do, yeah you probably got a lot of stuff to do. See you around… Hopefully.”
Vibe nodded, and stood to go. At the door she paused, and turned. Without actually looking at him, she said, "Thanks. I'll.... let you know. About.... you know. Everything. Later."
And she quickly left the room, headed for the Canteen. A thoughtful expression graced her features the entire way there.
Vibe relaxed a bit as the giant canines decided to express interest elsewhere. The further away the better, though she expected they would be great to have fighting beside you in a scrap. As long as they knew who's side they were on....
"What is your name?"
Vibe glanced up at the wolves' master, taking a closer look. He was taller than her; not unusual since the petite redhead stood only a few inches over five feet. The hairstyle seemed rather disheveled, but his outfit surely inspired interest. Usually guys only went shirtless if they were too hot, or thought they were hot. But which was he?
"Vibe. And you?" She didn't let on that she had been able to hear Syn name him. She smiled at him, deceptively innocent.
“So looks as if I will be kicked out of here as well. Well here is my number and if by any chance that Syn of your changes her mind I would prefer the company of Mutants anyday."
Vibe took the number, and pocketed it; she would talk to Amp later about it, before approaching Syn. She couldn't guarantee anything, but she decided that she at least owed Grit that courtesy.
"How is Amp by the way, is she doing ok?”
She frowned and glanced toward the door. "I don't know. One of the doctor's is checking her out now, but she wouldn't let me stay. She probably didn't want me to know..... well, all of that stuff you told me about. I hope she's okay...." Her voice trailed off.
"Well, I guess I'd better go...." she finally said. She felt awkward just leaving, but at the same time, felt the need to keep moving. It helped keep her mind off of what might be happening to her sister. A possible solution came to her.
"Are you hungry? I can run and grab something real quick. Since I was on my way anyway." She attempted to regain some of her original aloofness; throwing attitude around helped keep her balanced.
"Alright, I see what your getting at, you might as well drop the act. A grand on top of the 200 each, if you girls help me out, thats 1200$, and not a dime higher, otherwise I wait till someone else comes by, it's your choice"
Rather than agree, the girls allowed their eyes to widen, as if the amount of money was something unheard of to them. They exchanged breathless looks. Amp even gasped a little bit.
Then both girls backed away from him a few steps, retreating into the corridor. Vibe bit her lip and glanced back to where Lisa sat. Unless the mad had enhanced hearing, he wouldn't noticed the soft, hypnotic tune that caressed the secretary's ears, nor the whispered command sent behind it to ignore them and keep typing.
"We.... we don't know about any mutant group," Amp spoke, sounding nervous. Then she clamped a hand over her mouth, just as Vibe poked her side.
"Amp!" The longer-haired girl looked up and down the street, then back at the man, eyes still wide.
>Think he's a mutant?<[/b] she asked silently. A soft buzz vibrated under her fingers, Amp's way of replying 'yes'.[/color]
"Hello darlings, I'm Mr. Damien Rapture and I'm quite interested in joining your group, can you take me to the admissions office or something of that sort, theres 200$ in it for each of you."
In sync the Twins blinked.
>Did he just call us 'darlings'?< They exchanged a mirrored look.
The copper-headed pair didn't move, instead taking in the man's appearance with their green eyes. Their gaze wandered to the limo parked behind him. Finally, Vibe spoke up again.
>He looks rich. What say we find out if he really is?<
Amp's eye grew large and slightly fearful. "I'm sorry, Sir. We would love to help you, but we don't know what you mean by 'our group'."
Vibe moved behind her sister, also mimicking the scared little girl facade. "Our parents told us never to talk to strangers...." The pair of them stared longingly at the money, but made no move to accept it. "They said people don't like our kind...." Vibe even managed a halfway convincing waver in her voice.
Since being reunited, Amp and Vibe had given new meaning to the term 'Shop 'till You Drop'. For the better part of seventy-two hours they had alternately liberated funds from pedestrians, and spent their gleanings on clothes, jewelry, shoes, makeup and accessories, and practically any beauty-related activity possible.
Amp's hair was suitably short again, shorter than before, in fact, and matched by a blouse-and-capri outfit of tan and hunter's green. Vibe's top matched her sister's, adding to the Twin look, except with an ivory skirt. The pair of them had paused for a brief breather on the couches, behind Secretary Barbie, before heading out for another spree.
>She's got to be a mutant,< Vibe remarked silently. >She's just too perfect.<
"Robot."
>Ugh! Don't even joke about that.<
"Who's joking?" Amp leaned backwards over the couch, looking at Syn's secretary, Lisa, upside down. "I'll be she plugs herself in to charge at night. And reprogram herself."
>Now that's ridiculous. I'm telling you, she's a mutant. I'll bet she turns into a doll at night. Or a cat.< Vibe's eyes grew wide. >I'll bet she's that black and white cat! That stupid furball that was always following you and shredding my scarves! I haven't seen it since the Raid, or her!< Her eyes narrowed. Amp rolled hers.
"Whatever. C'mon. I saw some pearls at that last store I wanted, and the shift changes in twenty minutes."
>How much do we have left?<
"Ummm....." Amp pulled three tight rolls of cash out of her purse and counted them out. "Twenty-five-thirty. Gonna have to get some more. How's your voice holding up?"
Vibe smiled and let out a single haunting, and steady, note. Lisa immediately stiffened, and her eyes glazed over. Vibe let the note fade away, and after a moment the blond secretary simply shook her head, and continued her typing, as if nothing had happened. Amp gave her sister a thumb's up.
They reached out to open the giant gold doors, just as someone outside knocked. The redheaded duo stopped in their tracks to appraise the man in front of them.
(OCC: Again, sorry for the lengthy reply. Sonya, I hope I got the right profile appearance for Theresa. Let me know if not.)
Amp returned Isabel's smile as she approached. "Hi Amp! It's good to see you again. How have you been?"
"Pretty good. Making up for lost shopping time," the shorter-haired redhead replied happily. She twirled a bit, showing off her green and ivory wrap-dress and matching heeled sandals. The outfit was simple, really, but luxury compared the ugly gray sacks from the camps. "How 'bout you? Sorry about not coming to your trial. I would have given ya a character witness, but those Labcoats made sure I was stuck in bed the whole time." She scowled expressively, then smiled once more and leaned against the throne. "But at least you're out now."
"You know anything about the new kids?"
Amp shook her head and turned to examine the new arrivals again. She let Vibe fill her in on the various introductions, and moved her eyes accordingly. Anyone that didn't know her would never suspect that she couldn't hear.
Meanwhile, Vibe flinched slightly when a shadowy figure appeared out of nowhere, without the sound of footsteps to announce him. An interesting mixture of dislike, admiration and distrust scrolled across her features as she recognized Shadowman from the canteen. She'd managed to get all of the red from their 'soda scuffle' out of her outfit, but was still a bit ticked off that it had even happened. And she still blamed him for it, despite reality blamed her own clumsiness.
Still, he had survived a Stalker encounter. And the whole shadow thing was rather appealing....
“She heals.” Vibe turned her attention to translating when Abyss began introducing the new people, considering them silently as he did. Theresa, for instance, seemed rather plain in the mutation department. So instead Vibe scrutinized her appearance. Blond, blue-eyed, tanned and athletic; no wonder Geo seemed taken with her. Mentally Vibe 'hrmphed'.
>Blond is sooo over-rated. And I'll bet she's wearing contacts. Not to mention green would've been better with that complexion.< Up by Isabel's throne, Amp snickered.
“He controls Rocks.”
>Rocks? Mmmm.... I'll bet that's a blast at parties. Maybe we should take him on our next shopping spree.<
Abruptly she flinched. Amp had clamped down on her sister's vibrations, shutting her off for just a brief second. But the reaction was so sudden and fast, Vibe felt as if a door had been slammed in her face. The hostility surprised her so much that she nearly missed the next introduction, Shadowman's.
“That guy that came out of nowhere, has some shadow Tricks, and I am guessing Packmaster there has some sort of understanding with wolves. I am Abyss, Nice to meet new blood.”
Vibe eyed the Wolf Whisperer warily. He definitely qualified as interest-worthy to her, but those were some biiiiiig canines by his side. The further away they stayed, the better. Such a quandary.
At the very last, one more new person entered the Cathedral, very quietly. Vibe didn't question her sister this time as she passed him off without a second thought. They never did care for bald men. Unless they had money, of course.
Amp decided she'd had enough of the introductions, and sighed dramatically.
"Looks like you've been busy lately, Syn. It's good to be back with all of you again. But you know what would make me reeeeaaaly happy?" Her green eyes seemed to pulse slightly, as she turned to look over Issie's head at the black-and-red haired woman. "If all of this 'recruiting' means that we're about to do something. Preferably something that includes payback."
An annoying buzz momentarily echoed off of the wall and ceiling, as if someone had loosed a bee hive somewhere nearby, before fading away.

(OOC: Sorry for the length. Trying to acknowledge everyone and still project the right attitude. )
Indeed things have been busy around here. I'm calling a gathering of our members. I feel it's time we all got to know each other more as well as meet our new members."
" "New members?" " both girls chorused aloud. They heard Abyss enter, but Syn's remark had them curious, so their attention was on her instead.
Until they were scooped up in a huge bear hug. Vibe could feel Amp immediately tense up, and a high-pitched squeak sounded against the open area, making them sound like a pair of squeaky toys.
"You might have to get used to that, I missed seeing you two standing next to each other."
The tension vanished almost immediately, as did the squeak. Amp leaned back with a smile to look upside down at the big red man.
"You're not the only one," she chuckled. Vibe also giggled.
"Hope you've got a set of earplugs then, Pluto," she replied meaningfully.
Another set of footsteps reached the girls' ears, heralding another new arrival.
"Issie!" Amp's smile widened a bit at seeing Isabel. She'd still been confined to bed at the time of the trial, and had worried that she end up back in a Camp. Seeing her free as well gave Amp a much needed emotional boost. That meant all of her Order friends were now reunited.
That just left the new members.
"I take it there's a reason as to why we've all been called here, Syn. Care to share it with the class?" Isabel asked. Syn grinned.
"Nice to see you again too old friend. I've decided it was time for us to get to know our new members as well as discuss our future. A nice meet and greet if you will."
As if on cue, more footsteps arrived. By this time, the various sounds were echoing around the area. Vibe grimaced a bit since they sounded quite a bit louder to her than the others.
The next few arrivals received classic 'Once Over' stares from the Sonic Sisters. First the man with the wolf wingmen. The girls almost missed the second and third sets of footfalls, though the wolves nails made a very, very soft, odd clicking sound on the floor. The girls exchanged mirrored glances of surprise. Whoever heard of wolves in New York City?? Except for the occasional werewolf report.....
>Mmm.... he's a cutie,< Vibe remarked silently. Amp said nothing. In fact her face remained fairly expressionless as she followed his progress across the room, toward Syn.
"Miss Syn, I have come as you requested."
"Thank you for coming Packmaster. I shall make the introductions once everyone is here. You may sit in any of the pews there."
>Packmaster? What kind of name is that?<
"Hmph."
Vibe had little chance to question her sister's unusual response, because two more people arrived. She remembered seeing both of them around the labs, though she couldn't remember their names. Amp gave the boy barely a glance before wandering over to speak with Isabel and one of Abyss's clones. Her sister's lack of interest in this new guy, too, threw Vibe for a loop.
“Hi… don’t think we’ve met, have we? I’m Teresa.”
The woman's introduction reached Vibe's ears. Since she was curious about the new guy, she headed in that direction rather than the one Amp took. She hopped up on a nearby wooden bench, and perched atop it.
"So, how many new members are we talking about Big Red?" She couldn't be sure which Abyss he was until he spoke, but the nickname applied to all.

>Incoming,< Vibe announced from behind a glass of diet Sprite.
Amp didn't bother to look up from her chef salad, but reached for her cellphone just as it began to buzz. 'New Txt Message' flashed across the ID screen, with Syn's number underneath. She hit the button to read it.
>What's up?< Vibe munched on her own salad.
"She called a meeting. At the Cathedral? Since when was there a Cathedral?" The shorter-haired twin looked confused. Vibe shrugged.
>Must be a new addition. C'mon. We'd better get going.< She snapped her finger at the waiter to get doggie-bags.
Twenty minutes later, the Twins paused on the threshhold of the Sanctuary's newest remodel project. Their heels clicked and echoed off of the vaulted ceiling. Amp's eyebrows went up in surprise.
>Wow! Syn's been busy.< Vibe leaned backwards to see upwards.
"Speak of the devil," Amp remarked aloud, having spotted the black-and-red haired lady across the room. She strode confidently over to the throne. "I see you've been busy Miss Syn." The extra thrones didn't escape her notice, but she didn't mention them, either.
Vibe followed, a bit more slowly, behind her sister, taking in everything. Finally she spoke up, so that Syn could also hear her. "Really busy. What's the occasion?"

. "That's kinda cool. What's not the same?"
The shine returned to her eyes. Had she been able to talk normally, she may not have been able to reply. As it was, her 'voice' grew even softer.
"Amp used to be my voice. She was my everything..... We've only been separated once before."
Being in a swimsuit was the only time the scar on the front of her right leg was visible. It peeked out from under her shorts, barely visible against her pale skin as a pink smudge. Amp had an identical one, on the back of her left leg and hip. It had been there so long, neither of them notice any more.

“I agree totally. Sometimes I wish I was not a human, but a mutant, as from what I have seen in terms of kindness decency and such, mutants seem far more humane than humans, if you get me. It is like I treat you with the same respect I would treat any other person, I don’t give a hoot if you are mutant or human, and why cant more people do that same? You guys look out for each other, help each other, humans tend to try to fight each other, blow each other up. It is all rather depressing really. I don’t want to go back to the government, but where else can I go?”
Vibe cocked one eyebrow at the man. She was a bit surprised to hear him say those things. In her experience, humans didn't readily admit when they were in the wrong.
“Now I could go to Mongolia and find a nice hill to die on and exile myself there and run away from all this pathetic cruelty.”
She snorted. "Mongolia? That's like.... the back end of Nowhere. Do they even have a decent mall?"
“But no, life is, or should be too much fun to end it like that. I dunno, I guess ill have to look for a job and a place to stay, perhaps I could work at babysitting mutants. No humans thank you, or perhaps training them in hand to hand and weapon combat!"
Vibe immediately grimaced. She did not like kids. They were annoying little leeches, and had no fashion sense. "It's your funeral," she remarked.
"By the way where exactly am I and how does, not to be discriminate or anything, the mutant world work? Like, is there some sort of organizations aside from the school for mutants? And where is your place anyhow?”
"You mean Xavier's place?" She scoffed. "That place is full of sell-outs. Always preaching about how humans and mutants are equal. Bull!" Then she glanced back at him. "No offense," she added a bit lamely, then quickly moved on.
"My cousin goes there. We'll see how they handle things after this screw-up," she huffed.
"We live... lived at the Sanctuary, a homeless shelter downtown. Syn runs it now." She did not mention anything about the Order; very few other than its members knew about it, and she didn't feel it was her place to spread the word. Syn's name would be enough, if he decided to follow up on things.
"As for this place, its owned by some guy named Hunter Anti-skewy, or something like that. To be honest, I don't know how things are working now, or who's in charge. He doesn't seem like a very open guy though. I'm guessing we won't be welcome much longer."
