The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

Rapture was sitting in the back of his limousine, dark leather adorned the seats, he was wearing his usual custom made suit, with dark sunglasses, diamond earrings that glinted like stars when struck by sunlight, black leather loafers and his custom made platinum watch, his semi tanned skin and well done brown hair complimented the outfit perfectly, especially against the dark leather seats
Rapture had heard from one of his many informants that there was a group of underground mutants, like him, that were fighting back against the oppression of the government, most fresh from the camps, Rapture had escaped the camps as no one suspected such a powerful man of being a mutant, but he felt for his fellow mutants that had been there, and with it he had been convinced to give back to the resistance
The limo slowed down in front of a colossal, beautiful, church adorned with stone statues and large, breath taking golden doors, Rapture opened his door and got out slowly, the sun was eclipsed behind clouds that day and a slight breeze swept over the city, it was all but calm as well as you could hear the crowded streets and honking cars in the scenery, he walked up to the giant doors, and knocked firmly on them as he thought to himself
I hope my wealth doesn't give them the wrong impression, I'm here to do the most I possibly can whether it's writing a check, supplying arms and vehicles or on the front line fighting for all mutant kind for the domination of Homo Superior
Since being reunited, Amp and Vibe had given new meaning to the term 'Shop 'till You Drop'. For the better part of seventy-two hours they had alternately liberated funds from pedestrians, and spent their gleanings on clothes, jewelry, shoes, makeup and accessories, and practically any beauty-related activity possible.
Amp's hair was suitably short again, shorter than before, in fact, and matched by a blouse-and-capri outfit of tan and hunter's green. Vibe's top matched her sister's, adding to the Twin look, except with an ivory skirt. The pair of them had paused for a brief breather on the couches, behind Secretary Barbie, before heading out for another spree.
>She's got to be a mutant,< Vibe remarked silently. >She's just too perfect.<
"Robot."
>Ugh! Don't even joke about that.<
"Who's joking?" Amp leaned backwards over the couch, looking at Syn's secretary, Lisa, upside down. "I'll be she plugs herself in to charge at night. And reprogram herself."
>Now that's ridiculous. I'm telling you, she's a mutant. I'll bet she turns into a doll at night. Or a cat.< Vibe's eyes grew wide. >I'll bet she's that black and white cat! That stupid furball that was always following you and shredding my scarves! I haven't seen it since the Raid, or her!< Her eyes narrowed. Amp rolled hers.
"Whatever. C'mon. I saw some pearls at that last store I wanted, and the shift changes in twenty minutes."
>How much do we have left?<
"Ummm....." Amp pulled three tight rolls of cash out of her purse and counted them out. "Twenty-five-thirty. Gonna have to get some more. How's your voice holding up?"
Vibe smiled and let out a single haunting, and steady, note. Lisa immediately stiffened, and her eyes glazed over. Vibe let the note fade away, and after a moment the blond secretary simply shook her head, and continued her typing, as if nothing had happened. Amp gave her sister a thumb's up.
They reached out to open the giant gold doors, just as someone outside knocked. The redheaded duo stopped in their tracks to appraise the man in front of them.
Rapture stood there, everything was quiet for a moment as his knocks reverberated through the surrounding area, suddenly the gleaming doors began to slowly open as two ginger haired girls answered the door, they looked around 13 or 14 years old and were wearing rather expensive new clothes, Rapture assumed they were simply rich kids that lived hear
"Hello darlings, I'm Mr. Damien Rapture and I'm quite interested in joining your group, can you take me to the admissions office or something of that sort, theres 200$ in it for each of you"
Rapture then took out his wallet, black leather with the Rapture Inc. symbol emblazoned on it, he then pulled out 4 100$ bills and showed it too the girls as he waited for their response to his request
"Hello darlings, I'm Mr. Damien Rapture and I'm quite interested in joining your group, can you take me to the admissions office or something of that sort, theres 200$ in it for each of you."
In sync the Twins blinked.
>Did he just call us 'darlings'?< They exchanged a mirrored look.
The copper-headed pair didn't move, instead taking in the man's appearance with their green eyes. Their gaze wandered to the limo parked behind him. Finally, Vibe spoke up again.
>He looks rich. What say we find out if he really is?<
Amp's eye grew large and slightly fearful. "I'm sorry, Sir. We would love to help you, but we don't know what you mean by 'our group'."
Vibe moved behind her sister, also mimicking the scared little girl facade. "Our parents told us never to talk to strangers...." The pair of them stared longingly at the money, but made no move to accept it. "They said people don't like our kind...." Vibe even managed a halfway convincing waver in her voice.
Rapture watched as the twins blinked and then both shot looks towards his limo, followed by simultaneous looks towards the money he was holding, they then belted out a passable sad little girl act, but Mr. Damien Rapture had been in the business game long enough to know when someone was trying to milk him, he also had realized awhile ago that the best way to deal with a milking was to over raise the bar, he let out a small sigh as he looked at the girls
"Alright, I see what your getting at, you might as well drop the act"
He then pulled out 4 500$ bills from his wallet, this was chump change to a man like Rapture, but it was big spending to a pair of teenage girls
"A grand on top of the 200 each, if you girls help me out, thats 1200$, and not a dime higher, otherwise I wait till someone else comes by, it's your choice"
He then gave the girls a "I've been doing this to long for that to work" kinda look as he waited for the answer
"Alright, I see what your getting at, you might as well drop the act. A grand on top of the 200 each, if you girls help me out, thats 1200$, and not a dime higher, otherwise I wait till someone else comes by, it's your choice"
Rather than agree, the girls allowed their eyes to widen, as if the amount of money was something unheard of to them. They exchanged breathless looks. Amp even gasped a little bit.
Then both girls backed away from him a few steps, retreating into the corridor. Vibe bit her lip and glanced back to where Lisa sat. Unless the mad had enhanced hearing, he wouldn't noticed the soft, hypnotic tune that caressed the secretary's ears, nor the whispered command sent behind it to ignore them and keep typing.
"We.... we don't know about any mutant group," Amp spoke, sounding nervous. Then she clamped a hand over her mouth, just as Vibe poked her side.
"Amp!" The longer-haired girl looked up and down the street, then back at the man, eyes still wide.
>Think he's a mutant?<[/b] she asked silently. A soft buzz vibrated under her fingers, Amp's way of replying 'yes'.[/color]
Making her rounds and checking on things Syn strolled into the Foyer area. After a quick check with Lisa on some new residents the secretary motioned towards the twins and a new guest. Guessing by the body language given off from the sonic sisters Syn figured something sparked their interests. It seemed like a good time to go see what was going on.
"Excuse me ladies. I do believe you have some things to take care of?" Syn's gestures were easily caught by the pair who left the new arrival to Syn albeit a reluctant departure. They had been given a mission earlier by Syn and after being caught lolly gagging the twins headed out.
Now turning her attention to the man Syn saw he was an older man. He was very sharply dressed and carried himself well. There was nothing to suggest he was any kind of mutant or some human reporter. Perhaps a businessman? "Welcome to Sanctuary. Is there something I can do for you...Mr...?" The girl drew out her question in hopes the man would tell his name.
"We.... we don't know about any mutant group," Amp spoke, sounding nervous. Then she clamped a hand over her mouth, just as Vibe poked her side.
Damien was growing rather tired of this frivolous game and was coming close to simply dismissing them and attempting to find someone else. Fortunately a scarlet haired women of around 16-20 would appear in the corridor. With a subtle command she would motion for the you ladies to withdraw. Rapture would take notice of this, and assume that either she was really high in the ranks of this buildings staff or those twins were really low.
"Welcome to Sanctuary. Is there something I can do for you...Mr...?"
The tycoon was slightly surprised that the women wasn't aware of who he was. His face was plastered on countless billboards and his company's name on not only 65% of all the vehicles in the city but on a 70 story sky scraper, collectively known as the Rapture tower. Even then his informants had told him that this organization was very powerful in the underground, they must have done deals with his mercenary and weapons company of the same name at some point. However, it would seem that many people were forgetting his face today and maybe his name would jog her memory.
"Rapture, Damien Rapture, and if you would invite me in somewhere more private I would like to discuss a few things with you madam."
Syn had heard of this Damien Rapture, but she wasn't going to let on just yet. For now she would see what he wanted. The question in her mind was how elusive had her name been on the streets. "Yes, of course. Follow me Mr. Rapture."
The girl turned and headed back into Sanctuary. She walked past the secretary Lisa once more and flashed the woman a sly little wink. Lisa faintly cracked a smile and continued her daily work.
Syn took Damien up to her office. The door had no name plate and was already open. Stopping at the entrance the girl gestured for Damien to enter. "After you Mr. Rapture."
After they were both inside the office Syn closed the door and sat behind the desk. She propped her fee up on the corner and folded her hands across her stomach. "Alright, we're somplace private. What shall we discuss?"
OOC: Sorry it took so long to post, I had one written but it got accidentally deleted then I had finals today so I had to prepare
"Yes, of course. Follow me Mr. Rapture."
It would seem that she had at least somewhat heard of him, but it was obvious she was the type of person who didn't care about money or titles. This was for the best, Damien hated working with fan boys, this way their would be no special treatment and more work would get finished. The scarlet haired girl would turn and stroll down a corridor, Damien following close behind. Eventually they would cross a women sitting in a chair at a desk, most likely a secretary or assistant of sorts. Although she noticed Syn, Rapture wouldn't notice the quick acknowledgment the secretary would give her. After some time they would arrive at an open door, plain in appearance with know name plate or distinguishing marks, just open.
"After you Mr. Rapture."
Rapture would enter the room, which would appear to be an office, complete with a desk and two chairs, yet like the door it was surprisingly plain. This was slightly odd to the man in his mid 30's as he predicted Syn with her outrageous appearance would have a wild office. Crossing the room and sitting in the chair across from the desk, watching as the lady would nonchalantly prop her feet up on the desk and cross her hands. "Alright, we're someplace private. What shall we discuss?"
Rapture knew how to deal with people like Syn, people who propped their feet up on desks and acted so aloof, years of playing the business game had helped him in this aspect. Their was only one thing he could do and that was cut to the chase, embellishment and flowery words were wasted on people like Syn and Rapture would use this knowledge to his advantage in preparing what to say. Leaning slightly back in his chair he would set himself up in a similarly aloof manner before beginning his proposition
"I'm just gonna cut to the chase so we can get down to business, I'm a mutant and I'm interested in joining the order."
Usually such a blunt and direct statement would startle some people but Rapture had a feeling that it would garner some respect from Syn and help him.
"As you know, I am one of the richest men in the world and have invaluable resources in weapons, vehicles and most importantly connections. Obviously I won't be needing to live here, but aside from that I will be open to any needs from organization. Whether that be financial backing, equipment or just another soldier on the battlefield, I know this must come as a slight shock seeing as my position in corporate America and I'm open to any and all of your questions."
He would say all of this in a very relaxed down, his legs slightly crossed and his fingers touching each other. After the offer was over he would keep his position while waiting for any questions she had.
One Syn and Damien had gotten themselves comfortable the man replied to Syn's question. His first sentence interested Syn more so than his wealth and other resources. "A mutant you say...would you care to demonstrate your ability?"
While waiting for the man to either accept the request or to deny it Syn kept in mind the rest of the offerings he had listed off. More money was always good. Even though they were still backed by Dorian King's wealth there wasn't an issue with adding more to it. The possibility of getting some new equipment was also promising. That could lead to better means of communicating amongst the other members as well as some weapons and vehicles. So far everything Damien was bringing to the table were all bonuses for the Order.
His final statement in regards to it being shocking that he's a mutant in a high position recieved a shake of Syn's head. "In fact it's the opposite my dear Mr. Rapture. I would expect nothing less from a mutant." The girl now gestured to herself. "I too am in a high position as I'm the one who has been put in charge of Sanctuary as well as leading the Order."
"A mutant you say...would you care to demonstrate your ability?"
If a demonstration is what she wanted, Rapture would definitely give her that. He would raise his arm and then turn it so that the underside of his sleeve was facing up. Then with a snap of his fingers the threads would quickly unravel starting at the cuff's and heading downwards. It was actually quite beautiful the way he did it, the thread unraveled quickly and immediately would begin to spin around them in a artistic dome like shape. With a few more motions of his fingers the dome would close itself around them. Finally he would unbutton the top 3 buttons of his shirt, revealing his chest. Although this seemed like him being vain, it would rapidly prove otherwise as red and white threads shot from his chest and melded in with the dome shape above them. Quickly an image of the women before him would form stitched into the ceiling of the dome that surrounded them.
"How's that for a demonstration," he said with a smile and a wink. "I'm a fibromancer, meaning I manipulate all forms of thread, leather threads, nylon threads, metallic threads, anything of that nature. I also have the ability to generate thread from my body to use how I desire."
The demonstration Syn asked for was very different. She watched as Mr. Ratpure unravelled the threads of his coat. Then he formed the threads into a dome while other threads from his chest made a picture. To be honest Syn was wondering if this whole meeting was turning into a joke. That is up until the man mentioned just what kinds of threads he could control.
"Even metal threads huh?" Now ideas were popping into her mind. If Damien can do what he says he can then perhaps he could be of greater use than initially thought. Maybe he could make clothes that acted just like light weight armor. That would be a big help to the Order. "So what kinds of weapons and vehicles can you provide us?" Syn thought of something else for a moment. "You're not showering us with gifts to try to get us to do something for you are you? We're not mercenaries."
