The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

“So basically I was dating a murder? How did I get so lucky with you.”
Amp sneered. "He's the one who killed me first. I just returned the favor."
The blizzard enveloped Sam, and clung to him.
“This is a bit funny actually. They hired you but you thought the ice shards would harm me? Ice is kind of my thing.”
"No kiddin'? Silly me." She glanced casually at the foggy mist. "And here I thought that only happened in the back of Momma's car. You sneaky, Frosty."
The growing mist in the room hid her smile. Ice may have been his thing, shown by the ground freezing around him. But she had the advantage of knowing much more about him, then he knew about her. For instance....
The sound of a subway rumbling by filled the frozen apartment, and the wall began to shake along with it. The windows shattered outward, as did the wall behind Amp. Using the fog as a cover, she slipped through it into the hallway.
When either the mist cleared, or he got the chance to sense through it, there would be a surprise for him, in the form of two Amps. Identical in every way and form. Both of them taunted him in the exact same voice.
"You're not the only one that can play the cloning game, ya know?" In the same motion the dopplegangers thrust their arms forward, sending another shriek-filled hit, this one aimed at the ground beneath Sam's feet.
"Tag! You're it!"
The wave was powerful enough that, if it missed its target, it would punch a hole in the floor beneath him.

Amp scowled as her attack hit the wrong target yet again. She couldn't be sure whether Sam was actually controlling the ice monsters, or if they were simply responding to him being in danger. Either way, they were proving an annoyance. At least they were breakable, like glass.
Oooo..... his eyes were turning blue. Somebody was ticked off. A bit of smugness marred her little scowl.
"Aww, come on, Babe. Don't take it so hard."
Goosebumps formed on her arms. She could feel the room growing colder, which likely meant Sam was growing angrier. Still she prodded the wound.
"You should be proud. Only one other man ever made it further with me than you did." Her eyes narrowed. "And he's dead."
Her breath began making little wisps of smoke in the air. He was moving toward her, albeit sluggishly, and looking rather upset. His pets had formed as well, and the apartment suddenly felt more than crowded. She backed toward the door of the apartment, crouching slightly..
"Eight to one, eh? I'm flattered."
She couldn't be sure she'd be able to reproduce her sister's hypnotic melody, and even less sure that it would affect the ice manipulator, so she put it out of her mind to try. Dropping to one knee, she thrust her right hand down, palm open. Though the attack was unseen, it was far from 'unheard'. Three high-pitch screeches traveled along the floor in straight lines, like a set of claws unfurling. Upon reaching three icy foes, the shrieks moved upward in straight lines up through the middles, aimed at shattering them from the inside out.
Her left hand swung down, sending a second set of four more attacks behind the first, toward the remaining creatures. Then her right hand came across her chest, then flung outward with another sonic boom, as if tossing a frisbee. The three motions followed each other in rapid succession.
She was careful not to actually attack Sam; if she calculated right, the resultant, flying shards of ice would do the attacking for her.
Amp's smirk dissolved into a glare as Sam managed to get to his feet. In the back of her mind, she chastised herself for not waiting the extra week for the curare. Had she don't that, this would already be over.
“Please Amanda stop, I-I Love you, don’t do this please!”
Was he actually crying ice?
Amp giggled, a slightly maniacal sound. She shook her head, and straightened up.
"Sorry, Babe. No offense. But it's just a job."
She held her hands in front of her, as if cradling a basketball. A high-pitched buzzing began wailing in the air. She grinned again.
"Shame though. You're a hell of a kisser."
She thrust her hands forward, sending the sonic waves screeching toward him. The hardwood floors cracked and buckled under the attack, and anything glass shook noisily.

"Yea it's pretty remarkable and yes everything is grown here."
Vibe nodded in a compliment as she looked over the fruit. Her eye landed on a basket of strawberries, plump and bright.
"My name is Ali."
"Hello," she replied absently as she handed the man the price of the berries.
"And... your name is?"
"Viola Enders." Vibe bit into one of the berries. Her eyes lit up, and a smile planted itself on her lips, as an appreciative, 'Mmmm!' left her throat. She reflexively turned to look at Ali, as if to share the reaction. "Oh, these are heavenly!"
Mid turn, she looked at the other redhead, and tilted her head.

Another giant ice sculpture formed between Amp and Sam. With the concussive force going before her, the creature never touched her. Instead the ice creature took the blow and was thrown backwards, over Sam, and into the wall. Amp herself sort of bounced from the hit, tumbling in the opposite direction.
“Amanda, Stop it please, why are you doing this?”
Pulling herself into a crouch, she smirked at the tall man. He could barely move, it seemed. Somehow, she found this more enjoyable than simply killing him in his sleep. Seeing his expression, and the tears, simply egged her on.
She didn't answer him with works. Instead, she sent another concussion wave, this one aimed to knock him off of the couch and propel him into his icy creation that lay behind him.

Sam convulsed again, and his eyes opened. “Was this because I fell asleep?” Though the actual sounds were masked, Amp was an expert lip reader. She simply grinned wider in response to his expression.
She felt a cold hand grasp her arm.
<"No!"> Amp yelled at herself as she was pulled back. She struggled, coming out her trance a bit to see the two creatures holding her back. Sam was confused, and scared, but his 'pets' were not so easily fooled. She'd lost the element of surprise.
“Amanda… what are you doing?”
The animalistic smirk returned. She attempted to blow him a kiss, before dropping the sound masking, to allow him to hear her words.
"Serving dessert."
She send two sonic shockwaves through her arms into her captors, shattering the grips that restrained her. She didn't wait to see if the blast destroyed the creatures or not; she had to get to the source. She jumped at Sam, hands aimed to grab his shoulders. A concussive blast preceded her, and would hit like a brick wall before she landed unless he moved. And she was counting on him still being drugged enough to be sluggish.

Vibe paused a moment to take in her surroundings. This was her first time to the Colony of Antarctica, and it wasn't exactly what she expected. It kind of reminded her of a biosphere, or a bubble city from a science fiction movie. It was much too quiet and small for her tastes, but that didn't keep her from appreciating its beauty and craftsmanship. After all, craftsmanship was what brought the petite sonic more than halfway across the world.
Security and Health screening moved along a bit faster than Vibe expected. She knew she was Haywire-free, and on any other occasion, she might have tried to weasel her way out of it. But she'd heard the locals were very intolerant of anyone they considered a threat, and the redhead had a reputation to uphold. In her career as a professional shopper, she had only been fired from one job; her first. After that, she made sure that she only took on clients with reasonable demands. Though she had to admit, this demand seemed a bit over the top.
Six months earlier Vibe had acquired a new client, a woman who collected one of a kind items. She had at least four separate galleries to host her collection, which included everything from art, jewelry, clothing, antique toys, and many more. She even had a greenhouse that cultivated rare, hybridized plants. Currently her gardeners were working to revive so-called 'extinct' roses. Personally, Vibe viewed her as a pack rat with too waaaaay much money. But as long as some of that wealth passed on to her, the redhead could care less. Today's search?
A personalized statuette of the woman herself and her dog -- a bichon frise that thought she was Cleopatra -- made out a special colored metal -- not dyed, painted or artificially colored, but naturally imbued with color -- created by an artisan, who had taken up residence in the Colony, and taken the name Aurora.
Vibe took a deep breath. This.... was going to be interesting....
She checked the map, then made her way to the Market Dome. Before she could begin her search, her stomach rumbled. Looking decidedly touristy compared to the locals, she began looking for a food vendor. Spotting a fruit and veggie stand, she stepped up beside another redhead, this one much taller, and began scanning the wares.
"These are beautiful," she complimented the man running the stand. "Everything is grown here?"

Just giving a head's up that I may be a bit scarce this coming week. Between work and some family matters needing attending to, I'm anticipating an appalling lack of engery. I might not be able to do more than chat a bit, and maybe get a post or two out, though I'll do what I can. Apologies in advance to those who are waiting on replies and/or other thread starters. If you need anything, PM would be the best to reach me, and preferably on either Iris or Enigma's account.
Amp lifted her head, and frowned. She must have misjudged the amount of sedatives in his system, or maybe the timing.
Time. She was running out of time. She couldn't afford to dally any longer.
Straightening up, she moved one hand from over his heart to the side of his head, covering his ear. Because of his height, she had to lean over him to reach, digging her nails into his skin to keep her balance.
She had to split her efforts between the shockwaves she was trying to send through his body, and masking any noises he would make as a result. Couldn't have the neighbors interrupting her fun.....
She increased the intensity of the vibrations. Beneath her hand she felt a satisfying lurch from his heart. A couple more shocks like that, and it would give out altogether.
A predatory smile appeared on her mouth, and her nails dug in harder.
“we don’t have to do anything you don’t want to do.”
"I know."
His heartbeat was slowing. She could distinguish it from her own now.
“I could stay like this forever.”
"Mmmm." She continued to stare at the far wall when he kissed her. She pulled one hand away from his neck, and spread her fingers over his heart, focusing on the soft beating.
“you got me so relaxed…. Think I might fall asleep…”
"Sleep is good," she replied soothingly. "Everyone needs to sleep."
His breathing finally eased, settling into a relaxed rhythm. His hands slipped, and so did he into dreamland.
Amp stayed where she was for a short time, eyes half lidded, listening to the steady throb in his chest. Then she quietly rose. She began gathering plates and bottles, and took them back to the kitchen. She dumped leftover food in the garbage disposal and trash, and began washing dishes in the sink. The apartment was eerily silent throughout the tasks, all sounds masked by the redheaded sonic. Only she could hear herself humming a macabre version of a kid's tune.
Finally the kitchen was scrubbed clean. Amp silently walked back toward the living room. Sam still lay passed out on the couch. She stood over him, tilting her head from one side to the other. She lightly sat on his lap again, examining the lines of his face. He looked so happy. She wondered who he was dreaming about?
Deftly her tiny hands undid the buttons of his shirt, exposing his chest. He was certainly well-muscled. She leaned down, placing her ear over his heart.
All it would take would be a knife, or perhaps a bullet, and her work would be done. Simple, easy, maybe a bit messy. But done, without a fuss.
Where was the fun in that?
Her hands slipped between her cheek and his skin. She closed her eyes, and felt. Felt his calmly beating heart. Felt the soft buzz begin to rise in his body. Felt the vibrations begin to build in his bones and muscles. Felt his pulse begin to increase. Felt the fist-sized motor stutter, and try to fight back against the steadily increasing quake. A quake bent on shaking the life out of the delicate little organ, and the body it inhabited.

"Hmm...I think you know why."
"Are you an idiot?"
>Why is she still shouting?< Amp shrugged at her sister, frowning in concentration. She saw Kaz glance in their direction briefly, before continuing to mess with the woman..
"You're somewhere that you shouldn't be girlie. So I'll be nice."
"This is nice?" And then girl yawned
Amp snickered. "She's high on something."
>Gotta be.< The girls were beginning to enjoy this little tête-à-tête, and smackdown-in-the-making.
"You tell me why you're here, what you did to the train and why, and explain to me why you've ruined a perfectly good day of fun. You do those simple things, and I might let you leave here with your life."
>Twenty bucks says she says something smart.<
"You're on. She can't be that stupid."
"This is public transportation. I only got on the subway."
>Hah!<
Amp rolled her eyes. She reached out for the nearest unconscious passenger, and removed twenty dollars from their wallet, then passed it her sister with a pout.
"She's gotta be on something. Meth? PCP?"
"Maybe she's just a smartass with a deathwish," Vibe replied aloud as she pocketed the money, motioning toward the metal skewer Kaz had poised and ready to stab.
"Go and have your "day of fun." See if I care. I just wanted a ride to the Sanctuary..."
" "The Sanctuary??" " the Twins chorused in surprise.
"I'm a hobo like DK and Geo!"
Amp huffed. She sent a smart remark of her own through the air, directly toward the dueling duo. She made sure to aim for the blond's ears, since she couldn't seem to hear so well.
"Sanctuary residents are not hobos, thank you very much."
It would sound as if the redhead's voice emanated from the walls of the car.

The eyes staring at her were not Sam's. They belonged to a man dead six years, someone who had taken something very precious to her. A man Amp had killed with her own two hands, and enjoyed every minute of it. Partially caught in the throes of a traumatic flashback, she couldn't think properly. But she did make a logical, to her anyway, path toward a conclusion:
The eyes were not Sam's, but Sam wanted the same thing the eyes had. He could not have it. She would not let him, like she'd let the eyes.
Not this time.
“Amanda….Amanda….You okay?”
On the outside the dainty redhead, groaned softly, and shook her head.
"I'm sorry," she told him, her voice much softer than it had been. "Just a bit shaky is all. It will pass." She smiled, and nuzzled into his chest. "Just hold me for a bit. Please?" One fingernail slowly traced small circles on the back of his neck. "I'll be fine."
On the outside, Amp had not changed. She still put on the same vulnerable act, waiting for the sleeping pills to kick in and knock the gentle giant out.
On the inside.... Amanda Enders had long ago ceased to exist. It had just taken her mind to catch up with what her body had known for six years.
"Heh." Amp barely heard him. When Sam kissed her she returned the caress, but almost by rote. Her throat had gone dry.
Their bodies drew closer, but she wasn't sure if it was his heartbeat that she was hearing, or her own. She could feel the sluggishness of his movements, but it wasn't enough, so she tried again.
They were sitting on the couch still. Still hanging onto his neck, she twisted her body and position quickly, simultaneously planting herself in his lap and pulling him into another lip lock. That was safe enough-
The imaged flashed in front of her eyes again, glaring in a way that made her feel soiled. An insufferable crawling sensation began emerging in her legs, like bugs under her skin.
Amp froze physically, while her mind momentarily blanked out. Her eyes remained open, though unfocused. And though she wasn't aware of it, the vibration had spread to her entire body, and she'd begun to shake a bit.

“Well what would be that something else?”
Amp fought back consternation. He seemed to have caught her drift quite readily, and excitement came through in his voice. Not the reaction she was hoping for....
He shook his head a bit. His eyes seemed a bit out of focus. Maybe he wasn't far from passing out after all. If she was lucky.
<"You've started it now. Can't go back.">
Steeling herself, she slipped her arms around the back of Sam's neck, and letting her hands slip below his shirt collar.
"I dunno. Use your imagination." She nuzzled his chin playfully.
A pair of mocking eyes flashed in front of her. Her heart quickened and her grip on him tightened, pulling him closer. With the pair of them already in such close proximity, and him unable to see her facial expression, coupled with the natural vibrations her bones gave off when under stress.....
Her actions could have easily been misread as excitement and intent.
Amp did her best to hide a smirk as Sam lost his balance. Over the course of the next few minutes, she watched him slow down and grow sluggish, while they talked. She ignored it, hoping that maybe he would feel it was just him. But he didn't completely fall unconscious, much to her frustration.
He was definitely relaxed, though.
“what you got for dessert?” he asked, leaning into her. Inside, she cringed slightly. But surely he couldn't be far from falling out now. Right?
She pulled a impish smile onto her face, closed the gap between them and kissed the tip of his nose.
"Depends. There's ice cream in the freezer. Unless...." she replied, running a light finger along his jawline. "....you're in the mood for something else."
She tried to quell the pounding in her chest that had absolutely nothing to do with excitement.
