The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

Alex kept his eyes locked onto Aura as she stated that they had harmed another mutant, so she killed them for it. When she stated that they won't be making that mistake again, and she was happy about it, Alex's eyes narrowed in response as he tightly gripped the malachite katana in his right hand. He had no intention of going all out in this fight, far from it. He wasn't going to be like her and kill her for her crime against humanity... she had to live to learn her lesson. "I'll admit that they had to be stopped from harming a fellow mutant, but they didn't have to be killed for it. All you needed to do was scare them to the point that they regretted their actions and promised never to do it again. They needed to learn that just because someone is different or has special gifts doesn't mean they have to be killed or harmed. How the heck are they suppose to learn their lesson if they aren't alive to learn it in the first place?!" Alex scorned at Aura, clearly mad at the fact that she took joy in killing another person.
Alex started to walk towards Aura with his katana ready. They were several yards apart, so it would take a few steps to reach her. He eyed the axe heads in her hands that were made out of some sort of pink cloud or energy, and took note of it, seeing that she was a close range fighter like he was... but he could fight at a distance if he needed too. "I'm not gonna kill you either. Unlike you I know how important mercy and compassion are. It's was separates us from being the next stage of human evolution... and the monsters that humans think we are. The only way you'll learn that is if you live to remember it." Alex stated coldly as he lowered his weapon till the very tip of the blade was touching the asphalt ground. "And don't you worry, I know my way around a sword."
With that, Alex charged at Aura while dragging the weapon across the ground, creating a shallow cut in the ground. Once he was close enough, Alex swung the katana upwards and to his left in a slash aimed at the hilt of Aura's sword, intending to knock the weapon out of her hand. Not waiting a fraction of a second to give her a chance to counter attack, Alex swung the weapon back, aimed at Aura's neck... but the weapon shrank in size as it approached her neck so all she would get was shallow cut if she stayed put. At most she would lose a lock of hair that was hanging over her shoulder.
Trying to anticipate her next move, Alex jumped backwards while regrowing the katana back to the original three feet length. As he did this, he held his left arm across his chest while encasing that arm's clenched fist within some more malachite so he could use that arm as a shield if need be.
"So, what do you think?" Alex asked the man that was examining the statue that Alex had just created. The man was named Mr. Martian and he was a representative for a non-profit organization that was raising money to help cancer patients. The organization was having an auction in about a week to raise money for several cancer patients that were children, and Alex was offering a new statue he had just finish making for the auction. It was a beautiful piece, and life size too boot which made it so rare!
It was a statue of the Greek goddess Aphrodite, clothed in pink robe with golden embroidery with her hair flowing behind her. She was standing in a chariot that looked like it had been grown from a conch shell, and it was being pulled across blue waves of water by six swans, each bridled with silken reins. The glazes that Alex had used to paint the reins made them look as if they were actually silk, until you touched the reins and you realized that the whole statue was made of clay. Mr. Martian looked up and down the statue, shaking his head. "I can hardly believe what I am seeing here Mr. Davis. This is a masterpiece that very few in the world could ever hope to even come close to achieving. Whom ever wins this at the auction is going to be a very lucky person and are going to have a masterpiece to add to their collection. The price tag for this could easily reach the millions." Martian stated with amazement.
Alex only smiled and nodded. "Then all of that money will be perfect for saving children from cancer. Don't let it go to waste." Alex responded as he glanced out his front door and saw a large truck backing up to the front door of his shop in order to load up the statue. Traffic going either way on that street had been halted, and something like that done in the most aggressive city on the planet was bad, but it couldn't be helped. Soon the truck was backed up to the door and the loading ramp was lowered, which was followed by several movers entering the shop, carefully placing the statue on a flat cart, and they wheeled the statue out the door, and started to load the statue into the truck. Everyone that was on the street and in the stopped vehicles was all dumbfounded to see what was getting loaded into the truck.
Martian smiled, and handed Alex a check for the price they had agreed on for Alex to make the statue, which was $5,000 dollars. "Here you go, but you should've asked for more then this. that statue is worth an easy $100,000." Martian stated, Alex shrugged as he placed the check into his pocket. "I would've done this job for free since I know the money is going towards cancer patients. Good luck with the auction." Alex stated, and Martian left and got into his taxi. It took another 15 minutes for the statue to be safely loaded and locked down within the truck, but soon the truck was on its way and the road was opened back up. With a satisfied smile on is face, Alex turned this open sign back on and went behind the counter to wait for his next customer, whom ever they might be.
Okay! After getting so much positive feed back on my M-drug thread idea ((P.S. I'm overwhelmed at how many people liked it!)), I'm starting a recruitment thread for people to say that they are going to be joining in this array of threads.
Oh, and a reminder, this chain of M-drug threads isn't going to start until next week. I'm giving people a whole week to sign up for this. By the way, if you already told me you are gonna join via PM or chat box, please post here anyways. I want everyone else to know who is gonna participate.
The moment that Alex walked out his back door, a strong smell entered his nose and it made the hairs on the back of his neck stand up on end. The malachite manipulator knew that smell anywhere. Blood, and lots off it. "What the..." Alex remarked as he covered his nose, then turned in the direction of a voice that sounded a bit cheerful, and saw several yards away was a young woman fishing through a wallet... and there was a pool of blood forming at her feet, along with some bodies... and the one closest to her had a large hole in his chest the size of a honeydew.
Alex's eyes narrowed as he looked back up at the woman when she introduced herself as Aura, and stated that he could stay if he was a mutant, and should leave if he was a simple human. The sound of her cheerful voice caused sense of anger to fester within Alex's chest, and he wasn't afraid to show it. "I'm Rook, and I am a mutant." Alex first stated as his cyan eyes started to glow green, illuminating the dark alleyway slightly around him. He glanced at her sword, then back up at Aura, a stern look on his face. "And I'm staying put, and you're not gonna like the reason why."
After Alex said this, a shard of malachite grew out from under Alex's right sleeve and turned into a sword hilt in his hand, though it wasn't until he grasped it did a three foot long katana blade grow from the hilt. "You're the one responsible for this aren't you? What gives you the right to slaughter these people? Being a mutant doesn't put you above the law." Alex stated with a hint of anger in his voice as he held his weapon at the ready, waiting for Aura's answer before he attacked. This was something that Alex couldn't allow. Unless she did it to stay alive, she was a murder, and as such, she had to be turned into the police for her crime.
Hm, multiple threads sounds like a good idea... if I'm understanding this correctly that is. The way I understand it is the multiple threads would basically separate different parts of this plot like that of a chapter book.
Hm, let me think on how to separate this out. This is just a rough idea, and I'm willing to make changes. This is my first time trying to make a big plot thing after all!
Part 1: Basically Alex is in his pottery shop working on a statue for an art show when you guys show up and ask him some questions about the drug dealer that Alex had manage to corner within his shop a few weeks ago. During the conversation several goons attack the pottery shop, we fight them off and win though the shop is all but destroyed in the process. Afterwards someone ((not Alex)) decides that Alex should be placed in a safe house, despite Alex's protests.
Part 2: Alex and everyone are in a convoy of vehicles heading towards the safe house ((I'm gonna let someone else choose what and where the safe house is. Could be the X-mansion for all I care!)). Maybe a conversation or two happens in separate cars when another attempt on Alex's life happens ((this time we'll have maybe one or two players attacking Alex as well)), and among the attackers is an M-drug user that drops a pill as he tries to take it and someone picks up the pill ((NOT Alex. It won't be fair if he's the hero all the time.)) and the good guys manage to hold their ground, but are forced to retreat and manage to out run their attackers ((or the good guys drive the attackers away. How the battle goes will be the deciding factor)). At the safe house, one of the MRC or NYPD guys gets a phone call from the station, and that person tells everyone else that Alex has a price on his head, and that the drug dealer finally rolled on a deal, telling the police that his supplier is a mob boss known as the sculpture, and is one of the chief suppliers around.
Part 2-B: this one is for the evil or greedy characters. When a mole within the NYPD tells the sculpture that the drug dealer rolled on a deal, she orders the dealer to be killed when they move the dealer to another location. You guys can decide how you take this guy out, either by direct force or making it look like an accident... either way, the dealer is killed for talking about the supplier, and the dealer dies before he can give away the location of the supplier. The sculpture is glad to hear that the supplier is dead, but is a bit annoyed that a second attempt on Alex's life once again failed, and starts to ask her hired help ((that be you guys)) for some advice on the current situation.
Part 3: After some relaxing at the safe house and some conversation, someone gets a call from a forensic lab that has run a test on that dropped pill, and it turns out that the pill is an enhancement drug, meant to enhance the effects of the M-drug while having no effects on a normal mutant. It is also discovered that one of the drivers in the convoy was a mole, which was how that group of thugs knew which way the convoy had headed. Taking that information, several people ((Not including Alex)) take a look at the mole's home, and after some clever tracking down on some odd deposits in the mole's bank account, the location of where the checks were sent from is located and it turns out to be a warehouse that has been known for gang activity. After taking a look at some shipping records that are for the warehouse, someone realizes that cases of pottery is being shipped out from the warehouse, and Alex had stated that the M-drugs were hidden within the lining of some pottery.
Part 4: After a small investigation team looks at the warehouse and finds out that there is a small army of terracotta soldiers guarding the place, Alex makes the suggestion of him going to the warehouse and acting as bait to lure out the army or other people there so an infiltration team could get into the warehouse and find the sculpture. Splitting into two teams, one group goes with Alex while the other goes into the warehouse, with tons of police backup and a news crew on site to record the whole situation, and Alex travels under the name Vanguard to protect his identity from the media. After some hard fighting, the terracotta soldiers are destroyed and the enhancement drug production facility is destroyed, and a shipping list of where the drugs were sent to was acquired. Hiding on the roof, the sculpture is enraged that Alex has not only stopped two shipments of M-drugs from getting onto the streets, but has also shut down her production facility, and swallows an enhancement drug to increase the effects of the M-drug she swallowed earlier, and then summons off of the destroyed clay to her location. The clay molds around her, forming an 18 foot tall clay titan. After a hard battle, the clay titan is destroyed and the sculpture is trembling in pain from the side effects of the enhancement drug. With her DNA structure breaking down, the sculpture dies a painful death before anyone from the Order can execute her themselves. With all of that taken care of, Alex no longer has to be confined within a safe house and the production of M-drug has taken a hard hit, though a new drug is now on the streets, though in small amounts.
Let me know what you think of this people.
Oh! And before I forget, I'm not going to be recruiting for this plot until next week, and the first thread won't start until the week after that.
Alright, sounds good to me, but chances are I won't be recruiting for this thread until next week. This week is for ironing out the idea so there aren't any flaws, but more importantly for other people to submit their own ideas. I already took up on some of Gina's ideas if you want an example.
By the way, I made a change to a part of the thread idea so calling the mob boss the 'sculpture' makes more sense. Thank you Cleste and Liz for your input!
A man in his upper 20's was running as fast as he could down a dark alleyway, using the light function of his iPhone to light his way. The moon was high in the sky and the stars shined brightly, but that didn't provide enough light for this guy to make it through this dark alley without help. Gasping for air, he looked over his shoulder to see if what he was running from was following him. Behind him were several guys and a few women dressed with similar colored clothing, all with the same face expression: panic.
"Aw come on! Leave us alone! We were just playing a prank on that mutant, nothing more!" one of the woman shouted over her shoulder as the gang continued to run for their lives. "Shut up girl! Nothing you say is going to get that murderous B**** off our tails! Now get moving before she cuts me in half!" the gangster with the iPhone cried out in fear as he turned left down another alleyway, and the whole group of eight people followed him... but they all came to a halt when all they saw ahead of them was a dead end. "Aw Sh**! Go back!" the gangster at the tail end of the group cried out, but when he turned around, all he saw was the faint pink glow coming down the alleyway behind them. "She's still on our tails!" one of them cried out, and the group started to panic as the glow came closer. "Just leave us alone! We weren't going to kill that mutant! We were just teaching him a lesson!" another one shouted... then quickly shut his mouth when he realized how stupid he just sounded, and realized that he might be the next one that has their blood spilled on the ground.
Meanwhile, back inside the nearby pottery shop, Alex was busy on his pottery wheel, forming a large hour glass shaped pot. He planned on giving it engravings so it looked like it was a wicker-basket instead of a clay pot. It was going to be tough, but doable. He just had to make sure that the walls were extra thick so he had a lot of clay to work with when he would start engraving it. However the sounds of shouting and the thundering sounds of people running in the alley behind his shop kept distracting the malachite manipulator, so he kept messing up. With a grumble, Alex glanced over his shoulder and snorted. "What ever you guys are doing out there, can you please hold it down?" Alex grumbled before he returned to the pot and started to use a sketching tool on the edge of the pot... but a sudden scream of horror echoed throughout the back alley and it surprised Alex so much that he put the sketching tool right through the wet clay of one side of the pot and into the other side of the pot, with an imprint of his knuckles on the pot.
With a grumble, Alex tossed the tool away, smashed the pot so it was now just a glob of wet clay, and started to wash his hands in the sink to get all of the clay off. "Sheesh. What is going on out there?" Alex mumbled as he removed his smock and headed out the back door into the alleyway.
Hey people. I have an idea for an M-drug thread, though it's a bit rough so I need some help ironing it out. It's mainly for NYPD and X-Men, but anyone can join I think. For anyone who wants to know where I got this idea from, take a quick peek at these two threads, Drug Chase at the Market, and The not-so Grand Opening.
Basically, the idea is that Alex helpped bust an M-drug dealer that he dealt with twice in those two threads, and that he hoped the dealer would give the police the location of his supply in exchange for a deal. Thinking that his part in it is over until the dealer's trial, Alex thinks nothing of it, though a couple people ((That would be you guys)) stop into Alex's new pottery shop to ask a couple of questions as to why the dealer seemed to think that Alex is an undercover agent, and Alex begins to answer that it was just a matter of ill luck on both his part and the dealer's part. During the conversation though, a small gang suddenly the pottery shop with fire cocktails ((or what ever those bottles that explode into flames are called)) and try to kill everyone within the shop, but mainly Alex. While we all manage to defeat the gangsters with ease, one of the gangsters states that a man known as the 'sculpture' placed a price on Alex's head because of how much trouble he has been causing. Alex's pottery shop is completely destroyed in the battle, and the malachite manipulator is forced to start over... again.
Not long afterwards the arrested drug dealer gives into interrogation at the police station and states that his supplier is known as the 'sculpture' and he's also a mob boss of sorts. Learning this, the NYPD puts Alex under protection until they can get to the bottom of this whole mess. On the way to the safe house where Alex would be safe, an M-drug user attacks the police car, wanting to claim the fat prize on Alex's head. ((This guy could be flanked by any member that wants to cause trouble)). The m-drug user is taken down, but an odd M-drug pill is found on him, and the user calls it an 'enhancer.' When the pill is checked out to see what it can do, it is discovered that the pill acts as a power enhancer for those that are already using an M-drug, and it has no effects on normal mutants. Needless to say, this is very bad. Following a trail of clues found on the M-drug user and in the user's home, and from new info from the arrested dealer, everyone starts to narrow in on the location of the "sculpture's" location.
Once the location is found, the building is clearly being guarded by a small army of what looks like terracotta soldiers made of clay that seem to be alive, and no one is sure how to get in... until Alex volunteers to act as bait, hoping that whom ever is controlling this tiny army of clay soldiers would want the bounty on his head ((Along with any other characters that are working for this crime lord)). Splitting into two groups, with one team acting as Alex's hidden backup for when he tries to draw out part of the terracotta army, and the other team tasks with finding the 'sculpture' in order to arrest him and put an end to this enhancer drug before it can go on the market. ((people can choose which team they want to be on.)) The bait plan works better then everyone thought it might, and a large chunk of the terracotta army comes out to kill Alex... unaware that Alex has backup and that malachite is far stronger then dry clay.
While a battle is going on outside, the second team enters the building and manages to find the source of the enhancement drug... it is being made in the mob building itself and the first shipment has just been sent out to a new dealer. The production of the enhancement drug is shut down so the police will only have to deal with that one shipment, but the 'sculpture' is no where to be found. When everyone comes back together and the last terracotta soldier is destroyed, the 'sculpture' reveals herself, and states that the M-drug she swallowed a moment ago let her form that army from a large supply of clay... then swallows an enhancement drug so she could take them all on alone. The clay of every single destroyed terracotta soldier attaches to her body, encasing her within an 18-foot tall clay titan with great strength and endurance, and the clay armor of the titan is very tough. After a hard battle, the 'sculpture' is defeated, and a couple side effects of the enhancement drug are found, the first one being it greatly reduces the length of time the M-drug lasts two about half an hour... and once it wears off, the person that swallowed the enhancement drug suffers horrid side effects... and the 'sculpture' doesn't survive them, so she dies quite painfully before she can be arrested.
With the mob boss known as the 'sculpture' now dead, the price on Alex's head is now void since there isn't anyone to pay the bounty, and the production of an enhancement drug has been halted... and with the side effects of the enhancement drug made public, it is unlikely anyone would use it. Everyone parts ways, glad that this problem is solved.
Alex was about to reach for a statue of an owl perched on top of a crescent moon when he heard Lilith scream at Jezebel, telling her to stop. Instead of turning around to see what was happening, Alex ducked instead... and it was a good thing he did because one of the larger pots that Jezebel threw would've nailed him in the head if he hadn't ducked. All the pots hit the wall with a loud smash, and shards of clay pots and statue pieces went everywhere. Once the dust started to settle, Alex stood up and turned around with an angry look on his face and glared at Jezebel with a new cut on his left cheek. One of the shards of clay had given him a gash on the cheek.
"As if I didn't have enough battle scars already..." Alex stated as blood started to drizzle down his cheek as he watched Jezebel leave with her head held high, with Lilith tailing after her. Alex sighed and glanced around where Jezebel had thrown the pots, and the vixen had been right about it now looking there had been a fight... though one small statue of a dove holding an olive branch in its beak had survived the disaster. Alex shook his head, gave the dove statue a push with a finger, and watched it break in half when it hit the ground. "This is gonna cost me a bundle. I'm going to be suing this criminal's pants for years." Alex mentioned as he walked behind the counter and dialed 911.
His call was picked up right away, and he was asked what his emergency was. "Hi. An M-drug dealer just smashed up my pottery shop and tried to kill me with a hand gun. Oh, there's no reason to rush over here ma'am, he's knocked out on my shop floor. And by the way, I know that he's an M-drug dealer because I've run into this guy before. Could you also send someone to do a through inspection of my shop too please? I have a feeling that there might be an M-drug shipment in my shop. My guess would be a bright red pot that the former owner of this shop told me to hand over to this guy when he showed up. Yeah, sounds rotten to me too. Just get over here, alright? Thank you. I'll leave the phone off the hook." Alex stated and placed the phone on the counter. Hearing a groan, he walked around the counter to see the criminal stir and start to wake up... and Alex responded by kicking him in the head. "You have the right to remain unconscious, anything you say will be used against you in a court of law." Alex muttered under his breath with a sigh.
As Alex stared down the mob that had him surrounded, he wondered why the woman that was holding the kitten wasn't running like he told her to do so. Wasn't she scared of these people? He was. Alex didn't have any shame in admitting that he was afraid of these people that had surrounded him. He could easily survive this fight, but chances were he was going to have a new bruise or scar from it... but if one of them pulled a gun, then he had only a fraction of a second to stop that person from shooting him. He would either have to kill them or encase the gun within a malachite crystal... but Alex wasn't faster then a bullet if it came to that. While it registered in the malachite manipulator's head that there were several people watching events unfold, including policemen, Alex was focused on the mob, ready to defend himself and the woman if he had to.
It was at that moment that the woman addressed the mob and tried to convince them to leave as well. So, she was taking his side. The woman was clearly judging Alex by his actions instead of his mutation. While Alex was glad to see someone like that at a time like this, but she was going to get herself killed. Sure enough, when see tried to talk to the man holding the bat, he lifted the wooden weapon to swing it at her. "NO DON'T!" Alex screamed as his malachite chainsaws quickly retracted as he tried to dive in the way of the bat so he would get hit instead of the woman, but it was too late. With his glowing green his wide with horror, Alex watched as the woman's body hit the ground.
"No..." Alex whimpered as he gazed down at the woman's seemingly lifeless body, then shifted his gaze so he was glaring in the direction of the running murder, and slammed his malachite bracers together in front of his chest so his arms were crossed in front of his chest. "Damn you!" Alex roared as the bracers started to glow the same green as Alex's eyes as they fused together and molded around Alex's right forearm. Alex then pulled his right arm back, and punched the air in the killer's direction... and a long yet narrow spike rapidly grew out of the malachite, heading straight for the criminal.
As the extending rod neared the criminal, the spiked tip changed form into what looked like a type of wrist clamp, and it closed in around the criminal's right wrist, forcing him to stop running. With both bracers fused together, Alex had a maximum range of 54 feet, and the criminal had only managed to get 36 feet away before Alex stopped him. The fastest cop that was there, a young woman that looked like it was her first day on the job, had her gun pulled out and was aiming it at the crook. "Drop the weapon! And before you say anything, I hate mutants just as much as you do, but the law comes before my personal feelings. You're a murder, and all that mutant did was save a child and stated that he was going to defend himself. Drop the weapon, now!" She ordered forcefully as her weapon was aimed at the halted killer's heart. Another cop caught up to the criminal and had his gun drawn as well.
Seeing that the police had the situation handled, Alex's malachite let go of the criminal and it retracted back to Alex, whom defused the malachite so he had two bracers again, one on each arm, and he knelt down next to Emily, a tear in his eye. "I'm sorry. This is my fault. I should've ran away. They would've chased after me and would've left you alone. Instead I had to stand my ground because I was sick of running all of my life... and you lost your life for it. I'm so sorry..." Alex whispered, his voice thick with sorrow as a few tears started to fall down his cheeks.
After Alex had finished explaining the real reason why he wanted to keep that criminal alive, he wasn't sure how Jezebel was going to take it... which was half of the reason why he had created a chainsaw sword with one hand, basically showing her what he was capable of. However as he kept his eyes on her face when she looked back on him, he could've sworn that her face expression was changing a bit. Maybe what he said really did get to her after all. As he waited for a response, he risked a glance over at Lilith to see if she was hurt, then turned his gaze back to Jezebel, whom seemed to be in thought, though still clearly pissed off for being encased within a malachite version of a straight jacket.
Finally, Jezebel agreed, and Alex couldn't hold back a sigh of relief. Good, now he didn't have to hide a corpse in the basement of the shop, which he was currently using as his bedroom and food pantry until he had enough money to rent an apartment somewhere. However, it didn't take long for Jezebel to begin cursing up a storm, demanding to be let go or she would rip his head off. "Alright! Sheesh! Take it easy!" Alex stated as the chainsaw sword shank back into the bracer on his right arm, while the malachite straight jacket that Jezebel was encased in withdrew as well, freeing the red vixen. "I've heard foul mouthed kids before, but you take the cake." Alex mused as he started to glance around the shop as he rubbed his chin in thought. "It would be a bad idea for me to call the cops while you two are still here. Personally I don't want you two involved, so I think it might be best if you left. I'll make sure that Mr. drug dealer here doesn't tell the police about you two." Alex stated calmly as the green glow in his eyes finally faded to reveal his cyan eyes. He glanced over at Lilith again, and sighed. "I'm sorry about this mess. We can talk prices later. Right now you should get outta here." Alex stated as he handed her a card that had his name and phone number on it.
Turning back to Jezebel, Alex gave her a stern look before shaking his head. "For what it's worth, sorry about pissing you off. So the other shop keepers on the other side of the street don't stare, you're going to have to turn back into your hu.... I mean smaller form. Seeing you walking the streets will completely overturn my efforts at keeping the police off of you two." Alex stated before he started to glance around the shop again. "Now lets see... I need to make this look like a brawl happened. I guess I'd better break some of the pots where that hole in the wall is located." Alex stated before he started to head over to a display shelf, aiming to break a pot or two, along with a statue. It was gonna hurt his profits, but it was a needed lose in order to keep his two customers out of trouble.
Alex had finally fallen asleep while in that sitting position, his chin against his chest as he dozed. He slept for a total of three hours like that, shifting positions in his sleep every now and then, but was woken up by the sound of one of the homeless people sneezing hard in his sleep... and the sound echoed throughout the box car, making it loud enough to be heard from several yards away from the tracks that the freight train was riding on. Alex grumbled about it, but a few seconds later he was almost glad that the bum had woken him up. Alex could hear a slight squealing sound coming from underneath him, and realized that it was the air-brakes of the freight train. It was slowing down, possibly to take on cargo. It was time to leave. Alex got up and started to head for the door that would let him out of the box car. Opening up the door a little, Alex leaned out and looked out to see that they were nearing the bridge that would take them over the river, and on the other side was New York City. Alex could walk from this distance. One of the bums walked over to him with a puzzled look on his face. "Hey man, close the door. They'll see us." the man droned out, Alex turned around and gave the guy a warm smile as his cyan eyes started to glow a bright green. "Actually, I think you want me to leave. Just close the door behind me, okay?" Alex responded, and the frightened bum nodded. After waiting a few moments, Alex jumped out of the train and a rod of malachite shot of from under Alex's jacket sleeve, hit the ground in front of him, and created a large malachite block that Alex landed on so he had a flat surface to land on. The moment Alex hit it though, the malachite acted like a piece of foam and compressed, absorbing the force of Alex's landed. Once Alex had stopped moving, he was sitting in what looked like a malachite pool because he was surrounded by three foot tall walls on all sides. "That was softer then a dumpster full of foam." Alex stated with a smile as the malachite shrank down and retracted back into his arm, where his new malachite tool, a bracer, was hidden. It was still a bit hard to believe that the bracer that was around his right wrist used to be the Defiance, a two foot long malachite dagger. However, that wasn’t his only piece of malachite that he had now. He had another malachite bracer of equal size on his left wrist. Both were smooth, flawless, and had absolutely no joints to make it look like they opened up, so they looked like it was impossible to get them off of his wrists… and that was the point. He didn’t want to be caught unarmed after what happened in Kansas. True he could use his manipulation ability to remove them, but he didn’t think he would be taking them off for a long time.
Alex sat in the passenger seat of his sister’s ruby red Lamborghini, driving down Highway 70, heading towards Kansas. Glancing around the interior of his sister’s expensive car, the malachite manipulator couldn’t help but shake his head at how Erica flaunted all of the money she makes from being a pop star, and that every one of her shows is standing room only. She was also making a statement that you don’t have to be a man to be a fast car owner. With a sad sigh, Alex glanced back out the window and crossed his arms over his chest. As she shifted gears, Erica noticed Alex’s position and the sigh, and knew what he was feeling. ”You’re depressed, aren’t you? Something you want to talk about?” She asked kindly, and Alex responded with a nod, though Erica didn’t see it since her eyes were on the road, which is where they should be. ”Yeah. I know you said that the family knows it was an accident, but that doesn’t change the fact that I’m a mutant. How are they going to react to that?” Alex stated with a sigh as he glanced over at her, and Erica smiled slightly and glanced over at Alex… and the malachite manipulator just about jumped out of his seat belt. Erica’s eyes were glowing red, just like the way Alex’s eyes glowed green when he used his powers. ”You’re a mutant too?!” Alex exclaimed in surprise, and Erica chuckled as her eyes stopped glowing and she turned her head back to the road. ”Not just me Alex, but every single keeper is a mutant, and our mutations are very similar.” Erica stated, and Alex’s jaw dropped. ”Dad, cousin Jack, uncle Phil, aunt Rachel, you, and second-cousin Ron are all mutants? All of them?!” Alex exclaimed with surprise, and Erica nodded. ”Yep. They are all mutants, and every single keeper that there ever has been was a mutant since great-great-grandfather Ben became a keeper of the diamond claymore… which he created by the way. We’ve kept it a secret for a very long time.” Erica stated.
Alex just shook his head. ”You’re pulling my leg. Are you telling me that the role of the keepers has changed from being the glue that holds our family together to being a way to keep it secret that there are mutants within our family? Counting me, that seven!” Alex exclaimed. ”Eight. The horror of seeing you stab father caused my daughter’s mutation to awaken. Unlike the rest of us whose’ powers are related to gemstones, Heather’s mutation basically allows her to enhance the mutations of those around her. She’s a power multiplier.” Erica explained, and Alex slumped back into his chair. ”Oh boy. What are the powers of everyone one else?” Alex asked, and Erica shook her head. ”Some things you just have to wait for Alex.”
Alex sighed as he lifted his gaze from his malachite bracers and back at the Big Apple. Just a half a day’s walk away and he would be back in the largest city he had ever been in.
When Alex saw Jezebel's eyes twitch in response to him saying that the criminal shouldn't be killed, he realized just how different this... thing... was from that little girl that was overjoyed to hear that he could place her drawing onto a plate for her. This red monster was a killing machine. He was a little relieved to see that she dropped the man, but the moment those molten eyes gazed at him, Alex realized that he was in over his head. This was confirmed when she turned sharply to smash her malachite covered hands into the wall... and since Alex had been holding onto her arms with his malachite covered hands, he got thrown into the wall and hit it with a bang. "OW!" Alex exclaimed as he rubbed the back of his head as his ability to sense malachite told him the exact location of every single shard of malachite that was now laying on the floor. He still had most of it wrapped around his forearms, but the chunks that broke off shrank down to their normal size, so they were hard to see. There was also a big hole in the wall where Jezebel had slammed her arms into the wall.
When Jezebel screamed that the criminal deserved to die for threatening a higher life-form such as herself, Alex quickly dived to the right and somersaulted passed Jezebel when she threw a punch at him... which ended up destroying the clay statue that had been just behind Alex before he dodged her attack. As the malachite manipulator got up, several dozen wire thin rods shot out in all directions from Alex's malachite covered forearms, each one of them grabbing onto a stray piece of broken malachite, and pulling it back onto his forearms all at the same time. Since he was able to sense the malachite, he didn't even need to look where he was aiming. With every single chunk back in place, his malachite bracers started to glow green as his fusion ability mended the bracers so they were whole again. He was going to need every single piece of malachite at his disposal for this next move. "I said that was enough."
Knowing full well that he could be signing his death certificate, Alex side-stepped around the red amazon so he was behind her, and with his malachite coated hands, and slammed both of his hands into her back with all of his might, and started to coat her entire body with the malachite. She broke the malachite before hand because she was still able to move, so he was hoping that if he stopped her from moving altogether, she wouldn't be able to escape. The malachite extended quickly, and he could make it grow till it was 18 times its normal size, so he had a lot of malachite to work with. Soon the malachite coating had extended to Jezebel's elbows and knees, but he left her hands, feet, and head clear.
Hoping that it would hold her for a short period of time, Alex started to think of how he could get her to let this criminal live just long enough for the police to grab him, and started to wonder if he could use that mutant pride of her to his advantage. Alex's darker side was going to come out for this, but in some cases that is what it took. "Before you try to break free, I think I should tell you that this guy is an M-drug dealer. In case you don't know, M-drug temporarily gives normal humans the power of mutants, basically fake mutants. An abomination if you ask me. Human law enforcement and mutants alike are trying to stop this flow of M-drug, but nothing seems to work. However, this is the second time I've dealt with this guy trying to get his hands on his next shipment to sell on the streets, and just like last time he was looking for a clay pot that has his shipment of M-drug in it. This means that he is using the same supplier both times, so he has to know a way to contact this supplier." Alex stated, then took a short breath as he kept his guard up, completely ignoring Lilith as he did. "If he dies, that supplier will just find another person willing to sell their m-drug, and more fake mutants will be popping up all over the place. The information of that supplier's possible location is in this guy's head, so unless you can get that info out of him while he is currently black out, then we have no choice but to hand him over to the police, who can get that info out of him and make use of it in order to catch that supplier, and the flow of M-drug will decrease dramatically. Understand?" Alex stated calmly, while mentally praying that Jezebel would understand and would let this criminal live.
Alex then pulled one hand away from Jezebel's back and aimed it at the criminal. "If this wasn't the case, trust me when I say that this guy would've made it to hell in pieces. I don't let anyone harm my customers." Alex stated as a three foot long sword extended towards the criminal and stopped roughly a foot away from him, then dozens of razor sharp spikes grew around the edge of the sword and started to spin around the edge of the blade like it was a chainsaw. Alex had created a chainsaw sword to show Jezebel what he would've done to this guy if this guy had not been the drug dealer Alex knew he was.
