A man in his upper 20's was running as fast as he could down a dark alleyway, using the light function of his iPhone to light his way. The moon was high in the sky and the stars shined brightly, but that didn't provide enough light for this guy to make it through this dark alley without help. Gasping for air, he looked over his shoulder to see if what he was running from was following him. Behind him were several guys and a few women dressed with similar colored clothing, all with the same face expression: panic.
"Aw come on! Leave us alone! We were just playing a prank on that mutant, nothing more!" one of the woman shouted over her shoulder as the gang continued to run for their lives. "Shut up girl! Nothing you say is going to get that murderous B**** off our tails! Now get moving before she cuts me in half!" the gangster with the iPhone cried out in fear as he turned left down another alleyway, and the whole group of eight people followed him... but they all came to a halt when all they saw ahead of them was a dead end. "Aw Sh**! Go back!" the gangster at the tail end of the group cried out, but when he turned around, all he saw was the faint pink glow coming down the alleyway behind them. "She's still on our tails!" one of them cried out, and the group started to panic as the glow came closer. "Just leave us alone! We weren't going to kill that mutant! We were just teaching him a lesson!" another one shouted... then quickly shut his mouth when he realized how stupid he just sounded, and realized that he might be the next one that has their blood spilled on the ground.
Meanwhile, back inside the nearby pottery shop, Alex was busy on his pottery wheel, forming a large hour glass shaped pot. He planned on giving it engravings so it looked like it was a wicker-basket instead of a clay pot. It was going to be tough, but doable. He just had to make sure that the walls were extra thick so he had a lot of clay to work with when he would start engraving it. However the sounds of shouting and the thundering sounds of people running in the alley behind his shop kept distracting the malachite manipulator, so he kept messing up. With a grumble, Alex glanced over his shoulder and snorted. "What ever you guys are doing out there, can you please hold it down?" Alex grumbled before he returned to the pot and started to use a sketching tool on the edge of the pot... but a sudden scream of horror echoed throughout the back alley and it surprised Alex so much that he put the sketching tool right through the wet clay of one side of the pot and into the other side of the pot, with an imprint of his knuckles on the pot.
With a grumble, Alex tossed the tool away, smashed the pot so it was now just a glob of wet clay, and started to wash his hands in the sink to get all of the clay off. "Sheesh. What is going on out there?" Alex mumbled as he removed his smock and headed out the back door into the alleyway.
Aura ran after the group, she ignored their conversation for the most part. She said nothing but mentally noted the male was very right. Unlike these animal's Aura knew these alley's well enough to see their error before they knew they made it. SHe smiled, barely feeling her feet touch the ground, the Adrenaline pumping through her vein's felt wonderful. She would have killed these people these people anyway but she was in need of a good release. She had been told holding your emotion's in was bad for you.
They Stopped, but Aura merely slowed her pace, not for her victim's sake, but because she wanted to ensure none of them escaped. SHe chose her first target the last of the fools to speak. She picked him not because of what he said but because his yelling would draw far more attention then Aura would have liked. Aura focused and quickly, her Aura seemed to flow to her hand and from her fist a cone shape began to form, fully forming into a drill in mid-punch aimed at his heart. SHe had expected the man to drop or try and dodge, instead he Hailed someone named merry, whoever she was, did not help him.
"The Crime was touching the Mutant, not killing him" Aura offered helpfully as she silenced a woman, who tried to run, with the return swing. She reformed the drill, Instead into a sword. The humans next few moment's were quick, one strike one kill, she had been showing off and as Aura heard a door open she sighed. She heard his question, and moved so that she was not facing the same dead end the animal's had been.
"I believe, the police call this Murder" She said cheerfully, ass she bent over the man she killed first reached into his pocket and took out his wallet, she tossed out the credit card and the six hundred he had in his wallet and dropped the wallet itself when she found his License. "I am Aura, if you are human, i would leave now, if you are Mutant, you may stay" she said. Looking back at the corpses, she rubbed the hilt of a sword, maybe she should have used it for practice, but it wa smuch to late now.
The moment that Alex walked out his back door, a strong smell entered his nose and it made the hairs on the back of his neck stand up on end. The malachite manipulator knew that smell anywhere. Blood, and lots off it. "What the..." Alex remarked as he covered his nose, then turned in the direction of a voice that sounded a bit cheerful, and saw several yards away was a young woman fishing through a wallet... and there was a pool of blood forming at her feet, along with some bodies... and the one closest to her had a large hole in his chest the size of a honeydew.
Alex's eyes narrowed as he looked back up at the woman when she introduced herself as Aura, and stated that he could stay if he was a mutant, and should leave if he was a simple human. The sound of her cheerful voice caused sense of anger to fester within Alex's chest, and he wasn't afraid to show it. "I'm Rook, and I am a mutant." Alex first stated as his cyan eyes started to glow green, illuminating the dark alleyway slightly around him. He glanced at her sword, then back up at Aura, a stern look on his face. "And I'm staying put, and you're not gonna like the reason why."
After Alex said this, a shard of malachite grew out from under Alex's right sleeve and turned into a sword hilt in his hand, though it wasn't until he grasped it did a three foot long katana blade grow from the hilt. "You're the one responsible for this aren't you? What gives you the right to slaughter these people? Being a mutant doesn't put you above the law." Alex stated with a hint of anger in his voice as he held his weapon at the ready, waiting for Aura's answer before he attacked. This was something that Alex couldn't allow. Unless she did it to stay alive, she was a murder, and as such, she had to be turned into the police for her crime.
Aura said nothing, her eye immediately went to the hilt that appeared in his hand and she smiled even brighter when she saw the sword grow. She said nothing, simply watched, a curious look in her face. She loved seeing new Mutation's and despite the way thing's sounded like they were going this was do different. She had no idea what the material he was using was, but she knew enough to make a few assumptions. He had made a sword which told Aura he was a close range fighter.
[f700c5]"They harmed a Mutant so i put them down" Aura said simply either shrug of her shoulder. [f700c5]"They will not repeat the mistake of touching of another" she Continued unconcerned with what she had just done any more then she would have putting down a dog. "Still I am even happier i did so now" She said her eyes looking back to his Mutation.
She smiled, her aura flowed out and formed an Axe shape around each palm. SHe would not kill him, but he clearly looked ready to fight. "I won't kill you if you fight, however if you wish to pick a fight, i will allow you the first strike." She said. She would have to ask the Mutant why these barbarians were chasing him one day, irrelevant of course but she was curious. "I do hope you fight well" She said, drawing the sword on her back, while keeping the Axe head around her fist.
Alex kept his eyes locked onto Aura as she stated that they had harmed another mutant, so she killed them for it. When she stated that they won't be making that mistake again, and she was happy about it, Alex's eyes narrowed in response as he tightly gripped the malachite katana in his right hand. He had no intention of going all out in this fight, far from it. He wasn't going to be like her and kill her for her crime against humanity... she had to live to learn her lesson. "I'll admit that they had to be stopped from harming a fellow mutant, but they didn't have to be killed for it. All you needed to do was scare them to the point that they regretted their actions and promised never to do it again. They needed to learn that just because someone is different or has special gifts doesn't mean they have to be killed or harmed. How the heck are they suppose to learn their lesson if they aren't alive to learn it in the first place?!" Alex scorned at Aura, clearly mad at the fact that she took joy in killing another person.
Alex started to walk towards Aura with his katana ready. They were several yards apart, so it would take a few steps to reach her. He eyed the axe heads in her hands that were made out of some sort of pink cloud or energy, and took note of it, seeing that she was a close range fighter like he was... but he could fight at a distance if he needed too. "I'm not gonna kill you either. Unlike you I know how important mercy and compassion are. It's was separates us from being the next stage of human evolution... and the monsters that humans think we are. The only way you'll learn that is if you live to remember it." Alex stated coldly as he lowered his weapon till the very tip of the blade was touching the asphalt ground. "And don't you worry, I know my way around a sword."
With that, Alex charged at Aura while dragging the weapon across the ground, creating a shallow cut in the ground. Once he was close enough, Alex swung the katana upwards and to his left in a slash aimed at the hilt of Aura's sword, intending to knock the weapon out of her hand. Not waiting a fraction of a second to give her a chance to counter attack, Alex swung the weapon back, aimed at Aura's neck... but the weapon shrank in size as it approached her neck so all she would get was shallow cut if she stayed put. At most she would lose a lock of hair that was hanging over her shoulder.
Trying to anticipate her next move, Alex jumped backwards while regrowing the katana back to the original three feet length. As he did this, he held his left arm across his chest while encasing that arm's clenched fist within some more malachite so he could use that arm as a shield if need be.
Aura stood and stared back, looking almost board with the conversation. "I would say they got the point quite well, they will certainly never make the mistake again. They were trash anyway, even by human standards. I certainly have killed for less noble reason's however" she said unimpressed with the hero speech. Aura knew even if these goon's went to jail they would harm mutants again, she had protected any future mutants from their pain.
"You can not win that fight. You may beat me, but unless you kill me, i will go on killing human's i deem fit. Of course, you could send me to Jail, of course, the jail would end up in ruins with many of the people in it dead, i would escape" SHe shrugged intentionally giving him a solid reason to kill her. Their was a simple method to her word's however, Aura was trying to make him even madder. Anger could blind one until they had already lost the fight. She was also being entirely honest, aura did her best not to lie to her own kind.
She smiled at the last part, she hoped he was good with his blade, she had no idea what it was made of, though his dragging sword through the concrete beneath them and leaving a cut told her it was very sharp. He was fast as well, still the dragging sword gave Aura warning, and moved to counter the first blow with her own blade, just above the hilt. AUra felt the impact against her, aura which absorbed much of the impact, but the blade still struck her sword, though she kept her grip.
Aura moved just before the return swing would have cut her, But the blade still impacted her Aura and again, though the aura absorbed much the impact, the blade still made it's way through. Aura did not even have to see it, she felt the loss in her Aura as the blows impacts depleted her Aura bit by bit though it was yet perceivable the blows had effected it quite yet she knew the loss and knew the man could be a challenge..
Even as he Jumped back However, Aura was moving, she was not going to him have any distance if she could help it Short ranges worked best for her and it was much to soon to stop the fun. She took note to his use of power even as she struck. Her right hand's hammer flowed forming a cone drill like shape, this she aimed directly at his right shoulder, even As she did, she sent a knee, which as her left hand weapon collapsed and a six inch spike rapidly grew from the knee she sent at her attacker's waist. . "Oh, i like you, my violent friend, I'll enjoy this" she said even as she attacked. She planned if she could help it to not let him back off.
Whatever his power was, it was clearly able to make it through her Aura and this made Aura happy. Here was someone she could fight and have some danger in it. Sje knew from what he said nether of them were going all out or trying to kill however. Perhapse this was a learning experience for him as well.
When the malachite katana stuck the purple energy that Aura was producing, Alex could've sworn that he felt some sort of resistance against his weapon that seemed to slow his weapon down considerably. It was like trying to cut through blubber that was as strong as concrete; not a solid object that took a certain amount of force to get through, but something that provided a constant resistance against his weapon even after his weapon had pierced it's outer boundary. It felt really odd to say the least, but what ever it was doing, it was doing it's job right because Aura was able to block both of his attacks.
When Aura didn't even pause to regain any balance she might have lost before charging after Alex, the malachite manipulator realized that she preferred up close fights in which she could really get into her opponents face and overwhelm them. With that thought realized, Alex knew that this was going to be a tough fight in which neither of them were going to back down. As the aura drill came at Alex's right shoulder the malachite katana widened suddenly while straightening, making it look more like an old fashion Scottish claymore, and the malachite weapon deflected the drill off to the side of Alex's shoulder... though the drill ripped off the sleeve that was covering his shoulder, revealing the black Pegasus with red demon wings tattoo on that shoulder, though no physical harm was done to his shoulder. It was one heck of a close call.
As for the spike aimed for Alex's waist, all Alex had to do was lower his left forearm, which was covered with a malachite gauntlet, and blocked the spike. He felt her strength with that blow though since the spike pushed Alex's forearm into his stomach. For such a small woman, this Aura person was quite strong. As Alex shoved the drill away from his shoulder with his malachite sword, a spike grew out of the gauntlet on Alex left forearm and towards Aura's stomach, aimed with the intent to make her back up. To increase the odds of her backing up, Alex slashed at Aura's sword arm with his own blade, and he put all of his strength into that swing.
The whole time, Alex didn't say a word as he gazed into Aura's eyes with his own glowing green eyes. In his mind, the time for pleasantries had passed.
Aura established a quick conclusion, brute force would not work here that brute force would not work. His whatever it was had more strength then her aura did. She was forced to back up, as the spike tore past aura and felt a wave of pain pierce her body. She did not look, though the pain was evident on her face. Blocking his Sword with her own drove her back farther and Aura felt her hand complain as much as her Aura was.
She drew some of the Aura from her back to hide the damage her opponent was doing. A tactic she commonly used. Her aura pressed on her wound, keeping her from bleeding as badly as she should have been. Then Aura smiled and laughed "Quite huh? Well that's ok it's fun either way" she said. Aura enjoyed combat and a good fight even if she lost she could find joy from. SHe always talked with her opponents as well even if they did not talk back.
"I grew up on a battlefield" she added though these word's were less cheerful. He had forced her back. SHe had a feeling she was better with his sword then she was with hers.Still by catching some of the attack's it was doing it's job. "Oh, and if your mad about these guy's you really won't like my aggressive side" she said even as as the blad eon her foot dissolved She decided to let him make the next strike, and prepared to try and counter..
When the malachite spike had manage to nail Aura, Alex could both see the pain and feel the malachite spike pierce her. When ever his malachite pierced flesh, it felt similar to when you push your finger through raw meat... and Alex hated that feeling. He knew for a fact that he had just done some damage to Aura, and more then he meant to. Even as his malachite katana was deflected off of Aura's own sword, Alex started to slow down since he had down more then he had meant to. He just wanted to teach her a lesson, but that stab wound with that spike he just made could leave her crippled, even if it wasn't bleeding that much. As Alex saw his opponent back up, he noticed that his malachite katana had a few cracks in it where it had collided with Aura's sword. Even though his malachite was seemingly stronger then her power, the green gemstone that he held in his hand couldn't stand up too long against steel... not without repairs that is.
As Aura spoke about her growing up on a battlefield, the handle of the malachite katana started to glow green. The glow moved away from the handle and into the blade of the katana and highlighted the cracks in the sword... and then the cracks seemed to melt away as the glow faded. Alex had used his fusion ability to repair his weapon. Once that was done, Alex lifted his malachite encased lower left arm, showing the blood covered spike on it. It wasn't a pleasant sight, seeing her bright red blood dripping off of the bright green spike. "You know how to shut out pain, I'll give you that." Alex stated dryly, then gazed into Aura's eyes.
"But if you're gonna use that sword, you better learn to make it a part of you. It's not a tool, but an extension of you." Alex stated as he aimed his katana in her direction. As he did so, dozens of small spike grew out of the blade's razor edge, and they started to rotate along the blade's edge like a chainsaw, though without the sound of the chainsaw's motor. "And I have great doubts you'll enjoy my aggressive side. I am not looking forward to that blood bath if it comes." Alex stated just before his chainsaw katana turned back into a normal katana... which was followed by the blade rapidly growing in length and darting past Aura's neck. Alex's intent was to just give her a tiny cut on the right side of her neck and cut off a lock of her hair. Alex was quietly praying that Aura didn't move wrong when he did this, or she could end up getting her head cut off. The malachite quickly started to retract afterward the weapon had extended a foot passed Aura. Alex was still only trying to drive her backwards away from his shop. This fight was already getting ugly.
She watched as the sword healed itself, or rather her opponent healed it. She wondered at the drain and the limit's of his powers. Her wound was deep, but had not hit anything important. Her Aura would keep the bleeding to a minimum until she could bandage it or get it healed. She smiled at the joy of combat and becuse of the man she was fighting. Fights like this had grown depressively rare, humans were worthless armed or not and even many mutants had trouble with her.
Aura considered the advise she was given and considered the sword. Looking at it before her eyes, she wonderd if she had been treating the sword as part of herself, had she not in fact been simply using it, to take hit's for her aura? His word's made sense. "Good advice, im self taught in the last year" she said easily happier he was talking now. She always liked conversation in fights even when not being used as a tool.
Aura watched the chainsaw Katana with interest, she envied that a bit wishing she could do it with her own. However she could do somthing not unlike it. Extending her unarmed hand, she quickly forms a flat chainsaw shape extending out from her hand, it to moved chainsaw like teeth, like Rook's it' made no noise and Aura let it melt back into her aura, and become indistinguishable from the rest. "I like you" she said honestly enjoying herself.
ROok's attack hit it's mark, several long black hair's fell behind her and a thin red line showed on her neck as she picked that moment to move forward, hoping to get inside his guard, she brought her Sword into a blocking Motion as her Fist surrounded itself in a hammer like shape, she aimed this at his stomach attempting to punch up toward his ribs if it connected, the blow carried the force of a sledgehammer. Today had tirned out to be a wonderful day and one of the mroe fun days she had, had in weeks.
Upon hearing Aura's reaction to his advice, Alex couldn't help but wonder if she seemed happy to hear him actually talking back. She was different alright, but he still couldn't shake the fact that she had killed these people when it wasn't necessary, then again that was from his own point of view that had developed from the way he had been raised to respect everyone's God given gifts. Maybe she had a rough life as she grew up and this was all she really knew. The malachite manipulator couldn't say for sure, but he was certain that this woman wasn't one for mercy while he was... when the situation allowed it that is.
Though when he saw Aura nearly match his malachite chainsaw with her own powers, he couldn't help grin slightly. Aura's powers were quite vertical and there was a possibility that she could do anything that he could. He was gonna have to test that theory by pulling off some of his favorite tricks and seeing if she could match him. It was then that Aura rushed at him with her aura hammer arm as his malachite katana was retracting. Trying to act fast, Alex lifted his malachite encased left hand to his chest and manipulated the green stone till it had formed a large round green shield, similar to those used during the middle ages, and her attack struck the shield. The malachite shield easily withstood Aura's power... his arm on the other hand wasn't able to deflect all of the force behind the blow so his arm and the shield was shoved against his torso and Alex was thrown off balance, not to mention that all the air in his lungs was forced out. Now it was his turn to backpedal so he could regain his balance.
Gasping for air, Alex gave Aura a respectful nod. "Nice attack. Thats gonna leave a a nasty bruise..." Alex stated with a cough. It was now clear that the woman was stronger then him... not by much, but she was stronger, maybe faster as well. Now it was time to be sneaky. With his katana back to normal length, Alex swung his malachite blade, aiming for Aura's own weapon so the two blades would clash with one another. When the did though, a second blade grew out of the bottom side of the hilt of the malachite katana, curved around, and grew towards Aura's left thigh... though the razor edges of this second blade was a little more dull. What's more was that Alex had made a mistake in this attack... he hadn't regain his balance yet.
She saw the Blade come for her and blocked it with her own blade, using her free head to steady the blade. With a grunt she pushed forward on blade hoping to force her opponent back. She only knew of the second attack, when she felt it pierce her aura. With little time to react she pushed harder against his blade before she felt the burning of pain in her theigh. The wound was lighter then it had been if she had not adjusted her stance slightly, but it was still well struck, and unlike her other wound this one would get harder to ignore.
His power had a versatility she could deeply admire. It was beautiful to watch and the fact that it let him go toe to toe with her and match her made it all the more beautiful. The trouble was getting past the whatever he was using and not hurting him to bad in the process. Killing was easy, keeping a target alive was far more difficult.
"Already you have taught me much, if only their were more people like you out there" she said with a smile, referring entirely to his power to keep pace with her. SHe shifted her weight to the left and brought her leg up, their was a hammer like shape forming, He rleg aimed at Rook's sword arm. Her theigh screamed at her and regardles sof what rook did she would take a step back, her own balince in question.
When Aura's metal katana clashed with Alex's malachite weapon, he could've sworn that he felt fresh cracks forming in his weapon where the two swords had clashed against each other. He felt those cracks increase in size as his opponent pushed against him, and he in turn pushed back, so the cracks were starting to grow large enough that they were visible to the naked eye. That was the weakness of his malachite... it was twice the strength of cement, it could handle tin, and maybe it could hold it's own against aluminum, but iron had malachite beat... which meant that the green gemstone that Alex had control over was greatly outmatched against the steel that Aura's weapon was made of. A few more clashes on that same spot of Alex's sword before he could fuse it again could mean the weapon breaking altogether.
Before he could worry about that though, Alex felt his malachite weapon pierce through Aura's pink power and cut into her flesh, and once again it felt like he was pushing his index finder into raw meat. The feeling was so disgusting to Alex that he shivered uncomfortably, but he kept pushing his weapon against Aura's katana even as she pushed harder, so the forming cracks in the malachite katana were growing larger and deeper. During all of this though, Alex's gaze never left Aura's eyes as he retracted the second blade of his weapon back into the hilt of his katana and starting to use both hands to push back against Aura. He knew that he had hurt her twice, and even though he didn't see any pain in her face he knew that there was only so much the body could handle.
After she gave him and his power a complement, Alex nodded slightly. "You're battle hardened, you have a lot of skill, and even more potential... but if you get hurt one more time I suggest you yield. There's only so much anyone can take." Alex responded just before Aura attacked him with her leg that had a hammer on the end of it. Alex adjusted his weapon to deflect the incoming attack, but that resulted in Aura's katana slipping into the developing crack on the malachite katana. When the aura hammer struck the malachite sword, Aura's own katana acted like a wedge for when all of that force was applied to the already weakening weapon.
CRACK!!
Alex's eyes went wide as he felt his malachite katana break half way up the blade. The broken off piece fell to the ground, shrinking in size till it was just a sliver of green gemstone by the time it hit the ground. Now unhindered, Alex could only watch as the aura hammer went passed Alex's broken weapon and nailed him on the shoulder... and the malachite manipulator sucked in a sharp breath through his teeth in pain as he felt the ball and socket joint in his shoulder give way under the force. He might have injured her twice... but with one hit she had dislocated his shoulder! Alex jumped backwards as his right arm went limp, his fingers barely clutching the broken malachite katana. The balance of power for this battle was up in the air now, and was starting to show favor for Aura.
"Impressive... but this isn't over yet." Alex stated with a smile as his malachite shield shrank back into an armored fist, which Alex aimed at Aura's stomach. The armored fist suddenly grew out towards Aura was surprising speed... the same amount of speed that Alex's best punch could be at. He might have been reduced to one arm now, but he was still in this fight... but Alex was willing to call it quits if Aura got another hit on him.
"You may be right, dieing for the sake of simple enjoyment, would be shameful" she admitted. To her despite the reason's for the fight, despite the pain which even now was showing her face, she was enjoying this. She had no idea what the stuff was the man manipulated but it cut through her Aura easily, in fact she realized, had she not had the sword, the fight would have been much shorter. "Thank you, and your right of course. My Body is no stronger then a human's. "" she said.
SHe watched as His sword cracked and felt as her hammer struck true. In truth she had assumed he would block it. Glancing down she watched as the shattered piece shrank. It was amazing how much he had done with something that now looked so harmless. SHe would have made the same offer to let him give up but he seemed to fired up, to simply hand her the victory.
She eyed the fist he now formed, but was surprised at the speed it came at her with, the sword in to awkward a pose to be useful, Knowing well her Aura could not fully cushion the blow and that blocking it with her hand would likely break her hand. She shifted her weight to jump backward's but her leg screamed in protest at her and instead she felt the impact of the punch in her stomach knocking her back at nearly off her feet, the air in her lungs vacated her lungs.
Gasping, she manged to overcome the protests from her leg, she knew asking more of it was likely a bad idea. Still she had almost entirely forgotten about the humans that lie dead around them. Her Aura was running low as well, she hid it well. "Very nice, attack" She said as she leapt forward, her aura flowing to he right hand to form a mace like weapon in front of her fist which she swung like a hammer. She was pretty sure, this was her last attack however and could tell her movements were much slower.
Alex nodded in response to Aura stating that she was no stronger then a human, and the same went for Alex. He had his weaknesses, and some of them were a bit on the extreme side. He couldn't swim for one, for two he had horrid aim with thrown objects and guns, and third his malachite was breakable if enough pressure was applied to it by an object that was harder then it, such as the metal of Aura's sword. He also only had one arm to fight with at the moment, and it wasn't his dominant limb. Sure, he could still manipulate the malachite in his right hand, but what good would it do if he couldn't put any force behind the blows?
When Alex's extending malachite fist neared Aura, the malachite manipulator noticed that she couldn't dodge because of her wounded leg and ended up taking the full force of the blow, but she was still able to keep going, and that was very impressive to say the least. "Just how much endurance do you have?? Most people would've thrown in the towel long before now." Alex exclaimed as he retracted the malachite fist and watched her form an aura-like mace on her right hand, then she swung at him. Lifting his left arm the malachite manipulator managed to block the blow, thanks to the fact that it was much slower then the last attack that Aura had thrown at him... but he was having trouble keeping her back.
They had both lost a considerable amount of strength and they were both weakening. Still holding her mace at bay, Alex gritted his teeth and glanced back into Aura's eyes with his glowing green eyes. He had been told that when he was looking directly into someone's eyes when up close, some people think he's looking into their soul and that it was quite intimidating. However, Alex guessed that Aura would be unfazed by his eyes. He glanced up at where their two powers crossed, and then back at her, and let out a sigh. He couldn't use his other arm to help, and even if he did it wouldn't be fast enough to stop her from using her own power from her other hand if she wanted to.
"We're dead locked. Wanna call it a tie?" Alex asked as he pushed back a little less.
