The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

Akshay caught the look of surprise from Rebecca as he strolled by, carrying the hotdog with the massive amounts of toppings. He knew that she was impressed, after all, few people would order a hot dog like this. Not because it was bad or anything, it was simply because he doubted that people believed that there were any skilled hot dog vendors that could actually accomplish it. But here it was, The Masterpiece, or so Akshay called it.
He took another bite as he strolled along through the cool evening. It was not a fancy meal but it was good enough for two friends to chat and talk over.
Another bite from his meal and he watched as Rebecca continued to think the thing over. The poor thing was really having a tough time of this and he hoped that he could at least offer some kind of insight that would be able to help her through this tough time.
>> "Ah dornt know... Ah mean, tae be honest, I dornt even know fer sure. Ah ne'er liked anyain afore. An' Ah really ne'er expected Ah might like a girl."
First time liking…anyone? Akshay tried to wrap his head around what Rebecca was telling him. No wonder she was confused! Without any experience in the world of love and attraction she was bound to get her signals and feelings backwards! He sighed a little heavily. She was in for a far tougher road than he thought.
>> “Aboot a week ago, we sorta... accidentally kissed… Since then, mah wires feel crossed. Whit if Ah'm jist confusing mahself? Ah've thought lads cute in th' past."
He twisted his lips into a sympathetic look as he reached over and patted Rebecca’s shoulder. On top of everything she had actually already kissed this girl that she was not too sure about. God, it truly was like a teenage soap opera unfolding before his eyes. His heart ached for her.
>> "Thes'd be easier if Ah had anything tae compare it tae."
Slowly they continued on until they came to a small bridge that overlooked a large body of water that stretched out before them. Over the rippled surface, he watched as tiny toy boats floated and ducks glided effortlessly. Around the edges people were gathered, some as couples, some of them by themselves. It was a rather inspirational place to stand simply watch the world float by.
Akshay nodded at Rebecca’s last words before he responded.
“You know, that may not be such a bad idea,” Akshay said with a nod. “Maybe you should go out with someone, preferably a guy, just so that you can get your feet wet. You’ll never know what it is your feeling for this girl if you don’t get at least some type of experience. It can be confusing otherwise.” He took another bite of his hotdog and peered out over the expanse of water and dabbed at his lips with his napkin. “Not, you know, that you should just throw yourself at anyone. Go out with someone else that you find attractive and fun. That should give you at least an idea of how you feel about this girl.”
Though Akshay knew his advice was sound, he was beginning to think that just maybe Rebecca’s feelings about the other girl was something deeper than merely infatuation. The way she was killing herself, agonizing over this, he had suspicions that maybe…there really was more…
He cleared his throat as he looked out over the water contemplatively.
“You know, when I was in your predicament, I had a similar reaction,” he said. “You see, my best friend in college dated this girl that was simply awesome. She was smart, funny, loved to talk about all things nerdy. But what was most attractive about her…was her compassionate eyes. They were a lovely shade of jade green and grew so warm whenever she did anything sweet. I used to lie awake at night, thinking about those eyes. Whenever I closed mine…I could see her’s clearly.” he shrugged as he leaned on the railing and smirked at Rebecca. “That’s how you tell, you know, if you’re in love with someone. If you see their eyes when you close your own…you’re lost.”

Ahhhhh hotdogs! That had to be one of the best and healthiest snacks in New York City! Akshay was nearly bouncing in place as he waited for his hotdog vendor to finish creating his masterpiece. Ever since Akshay was 15 he ordered one, and only one, type of hotdog: a single hotdog with relish, sauerkraut, chili, cheese, ketchup, mustard, and just a few sprinkles of bacon bits and black pepper! It had to be probably one of the most heart stopping hotdogs he had EVER eaten! Biting into it was like opening the doors to heaven.
One…truly achieved nirvana when consuming it.
He smirked as the bewildered hotdog vendor merely chuckled and shook his head as he finished constructing the masterpiece and handed it back over to Akshay in exchange for cash. Once that was done, Akshay turned back on his heel and headed to join Rebecca who was already enjoying her own dinner.
The experience at the shop was MORE than a success. They had sold tons of comics, given away their inventory of free comics, even had a few purchases from their more collectable items, so that meant it was going to be a bang up day for One Comic to Rule Them All! The boss would probably kiss them all on the lips for the cash he was going to find in the drawer tomorrow morning. On top of that, it was just an overall, fun experience. Rebecca had gotten into character with nearly as much fervor as when he was dressed up! It was good to find someone just as involved into the comic world as he was.
But that was not the topic of their meeting tonight. There was something weighing heavily on Rebecca’s mind, something that Akshay was sure that work had managed to distract her from but was not settling back into her mind. Being in love with the best friend who was already seeing someone; that was never a position he wanted to be in…again.
He sighed as he took a bite from his dog and casually carried it through Central Park, wiping any excess off of the corners of his mouth.
“So…your attracted to your best friend.” he said. Well…maybe that was a little blunt but it was a bit too late to take it back. “I’ve been there. Never a fun situation,” he said with a little sigh. “You shouldn’t be so down though. There is always a silver lining.” God he was sounding more and more like a fortune cookie. He simply shook his head and chuckled. “Sorry. I didn’t mean to be so Yoda-ish there. But tell me…does she know you like her?”

With a bound to his side, Akshay grinned as Rebecca fully embodied her character. He could not get over how into this she really was. It made his heart soar that he managed to convert yet another person to the persuasive power of comic books and enjoy them to their fullest. Rebecca would probably turn out to be his best co-worker yet!
Akshay gave her a confirmative nod and balled up his fist. Rebecca did the same, just as they had practiced and suddenly both lashed out with fake punches. The whole time Akshay eyed Rebecca’s fist, terrified that she was actually going to connect with Jean again. But thankfully, even as his own fist passed only through the empty air that was on the side of Jean’s head, Rebecca’s followed in kind, in the opposite direction.
A small sigh of relief, both from him and Jean, and their villainous opponent flew backwards, onto his back and out of commission. Akshay straightened up, grinning wide and proud of his “heroic” deeds. He watched as Rebecca then took her cue to exit Jean from the room…
>> "I knew we would stop him! Now I'll take him to Doctor Z! In the meantime, be sure to thank the charming man in the golden clothes!"
“Thank you, Miracle Lass!” he winked and watched as she dragged the “incapacitated” Polar Opposite away.
Once the two were gone, Akshay was bombarded with cheers and hearty laughs from both comic fans and the young kids that occupied the store. But his attention was more diverted to keeping the female comic fans away from fawning and further gropings! Thank god he had the counter to protect him at least a little bit.
The cheering then reached deafening levels as Rebecca once again emerged from the back room. After successful disposing of Polar Opposite (aka, giving him his break), Rebecca became the new object of attention and flattered. Judging by her reactions, it was obvious that she never got a lot of this sort of reaction from people. He was a little amused by it and thought that it was extremely cute. Thankfully the crowd seemed a little more respectful and he could really see no more illicit pinching or prodding. Good! That means Rebecca earned their respect.
With a grateful sigh that he would not have to keep such a close eye on her the rest of the day, Akshay turned back to his own adorning fans and purchasers. The rest of the day should go by with smooooooth sailing….

Akshay grinned as he watched Polar Opposite/Jean really get into his character. The whole store had ground to a halt and began to watch as the skit played out. It was their comic heroes come to life, right before their eyes! Though it was obvious that they were not foolish enough to believe that they were actually really those comic characters, they were entertained enough to simply watch and record their phones as the faux battle between heroes and villain began.
The banter was there, the usual corny lines from every comic book that every fan knew nearly by heart. But it was just corny enough to where the patrons just loved it. They “Ooo”-ed and “Ahhh”-ed at the banter between the two opposing characters before the fight. Rebecca and Jean were both doing so well in their respective roles that Akshay for a moment truly believed that they were from the pages of the comic.
SO entertaining…
Then Polar Opposite, with the ability of magnetism, threw an attack at Miracle Lass that knocked her backwards into a patron. But obviously Miracle Lass was not going to be deterred by such nonsense…
>> "My lads may be off elsewhere, but I have the help of Captain Goldfish, and in a time of need, I can always pray for a miracle!"
“You’ll pay for attacking my friend, Polar Opposite!!”
Akshay announced as he jumped into character. He took on a rather heroic pose, standing in the light that filtered in through the windows of the show. His gold, chainmail shirt brilliantly glimmered like real fish scales in the light and it was so dazzle that it was enough to make practically everyone in the store “Oooo” at his appearance. He definitely loved this costume. Standing there, though, he could already hear that light buzzing in the air that came with his two “friends”.
This was going to be so cool…
>> "It's up to you and your mates, Captain!"
“Thank you, Miracle Lass! I couldn’t have summoned my friends without your help!” he grinned and pointed towards his enemy. “Prepare to surrender!”
It was then that Akshay released a gurgling, underwater sound that he had been practicing on all week. He sounded like he was speaking “Goldfish” and instantly, upon hearing these commands, his goldfish allies would jump to the attack. As they swam past him, they were begin to nudge and pester Polar Opposite, while Akshay grinned.
“Nooooo!!! Curse you Miracle Lass and you, you walking Fishstick!!” Polar Opposite shrieked.
“That is CAPTAIN GOOOOOOLDFISH!!” he bellowed as his fish minions drove Polar Opposite to his knee.
Akshay glanced out of the corner of his eye, winked at Rebecca and nodded. It time for that double punch that they had practiced. He really hoped that she would not literally sock Jean across the eye…again…
“Let’s finish this, Miracle Lass!!” he shouted and dashed heroically forward and readied a “punch” that would knock Jean out and finish their skit for the day…

The swarm had entered into the comic shop and Akshay had already been sexually accosted. Was he really all that surprised though? After all female comic fans could be some of the worst and most handsy of all the comic nerds out there! He learned that first hand (forgive the pun) when he first started working the circuits at the Comic-Cons and now he was getting that experience all over again. But he managed to shake it off as he turned and went back to actually doing his job.
Though Akshay was pretty much engrossed in his work, and with his character, he did keep a careful eye out for Rebecca. He kept glancing over, spied her walking with fans, trying to hide her blushes but doing her damndest to remain in character. He had to admit that he was greatly impressed with her. She was doing an awesome job and was spouting off Z-Team knowledge left and right and really remained true to her character. He had to admit that he was a little worried when he started to train her. She did not know all that much about comics but she did prove to be a hard worker and an even harder studier. Before long he was having a hard time telling her apart from a complete and utter fan.
Akshay nodded. Very impressive indeed.
While Akshay gave Rebecca one part of the store to talk and lure customers into, Akshay remained in the other half, chatting up his own customers. He explained to them the importance of buying these comics! They helped to fund the Integrity Union so they they could continue to fight the evil forces of Rex Roofer and his Syndicate of Badness.
“So for every comic you buy, you bring us another step closer to helping my fight my nemesis White Stingray!” he said with a nod.
>> "Hey! I'm sorry, but that's for Red Eye only. Well, if he ever works up the courage to ask,"
He snapped over to look and immediately spied that already Rebecca had been pinched. Part of him wanted to go over and smack the guy for doing it but Akshay immediately saw his young protégé take the situation under control. She admonished the guy but still had the silver tongue to stay in character and even convince the kid to buy a tower of comics as an apology! He smirked mentally, applauding Rebecca’s cool under pressure.
He liked the young lady more and more every day.
And so the day pressed on, helping people pick their choices in comics, remaining in-character, just having an amusing time with themselves. But a glance at the clock showed that it was nearly time for their other co-worker, Jean, to make his appearance. They had a little skit planned that should hopefully entertain the patrons enough to stick around and part-take of more comics.
Ringing up another customer, Akshay smiled as he handed them back their purchases. Then, just in time, from the front door he eyed the familiar, lanky, ultra thin form of their co-worker, Jean Lopez. The man strolled into the comic shop dressed in the familiar outfit of purple and white. The cape bellowed around him and Akshay smirked. Jean adjusted his white wig and made the perfect image of Polar Opposite, dastardly villain to the Z-TEAM!
Akshay gasped as he went into character and suddenly slipped out from behind his counter and pointed accusingly at the man.
“Polar Opposite!! What are YOU doing here!?”
Polar Opposite/Jean cackled as he reared his head back. The group of comic shoppers were all stunned by the scene that was beginning to unfold. Many of them were clapping and going along with the skit, their faces all smiles.
“I’m here to ruin this comic shop, Captain Goldfish!! And what’re you going to do about it?” the villain cackled.
Akshay smirked as he glanced over at Rebecca. That was her cue…just like they rehearsed…

Hiya Euphoria! I'm usually down for threads of any type. I currently have four characters:
Jorge Cervantes: Water-bending police officer for the NYPD - Mutant Related Crimes Division and X-Trainee.
Agnes Nicholas: Young runaway and gardener at the X-mansion. She has bug attributes and has a hive of insects living inside her.
Vicente de la Sangre: Older assassin and gun for hire. He has the ability to transforms limbs of his body into the equivalent limbs of any animals he's eaten.
Akshay Malik: Total nerd, comic book shop worker and creator of an very popular indie comic. He can solidify any nouns he says into solid form and see the nouns people say.
If any interest you, just let me know! All are pretty much available!

Akshay sighed as he stood back, his arms crossed over his chainmail shirt as he waited to hear some kind of response from Rebecca. It really did hurt his heart to see her so upset from this whole ordeal. It sounded like the typical kind of teenage romance though, but this was not high school. This was a real life drama unfolding. It was almost as if Melrose Hills, 90210--OC was actually happening before his eyes! The young girl, in love with her best friend, who also happens to be a girl, who also happens to be a new transfer to America!
If Rebecca’s life were being filmed live, Akshay was sure that the ratings would be going through the roof! It was just the type of drama that the American audience loved to eat up!
But this was not just some character on a screen. This was a real life person, someone whom he had grown to respect and care about. Ever since she started at the shop, she had proved herself to be a loyal employee, as well as a good comrade to chat and spend the day with. Akshay hated to see anything make her this upset and confused. He wished there were more he could do.
Listening. That would have to be his strongest gift he would give to Rebecca. He could listen to her…for TWO more minutes! The store was close to opening!
>> "Ah'd love tae take ye up on tha' drink, but as ye know, Ah'm underage here…Dinner sounds great though."
Akshay nodded with a small and caring smile. He had not really planned to take her out to get hammered or anything, he simply was going to offer a soda. GOD, the things that run through a young person’s mind.
“Dinner it is, then,” he beamed.
Another glance to the clock and they had seconds before it was time for the store to open. He adjusted his shirt, Rebecca started to put away cleaning supplies and got herself ready for the oncoming storm front of nerds, geeks, and mouth breathers. Damn, he loved the smell of a comic book store in the morning!
>> "A-Alright Captain... release the floodgates."
He chuckled as he straightened his posture and cleared his throat until he was speaking at a lower and harsher decibel.
“Anything for you, Miracle Lass!!” he said in a throaty way.
Chest puffed out, Akshay stomped and stepped over to the doors that were already startling to rattle a bit from people trying to get into the store. He had half a mind to make them wait longer because of that but he was simply not I the mood to deal with the sneering and growling he would surely get. On top of that, he doubted that the store doors would even be able to handle the pressure from all the people trying to break in. He would have to let them in or risk them breaking the door down.
“Okay, welcome to hell,” he said with a little grin as he reached down, unlocked the doors and stepped aside to let the surging masses in. “Everyone! Welcome to One Comic to Rule Them All!!”
God, he hoped that Rebecca was indeed ready for this. And that there were not too many gropers tod—
“AH! Hey lady! Hands off the dolphin!!” he admonished another female comic goer and readjusted his pants with the dolphin printed directly above his--

Akshay was quiet the entire time that Emerald related to him exactly what she wanted to. She explained that she was the middle of two other sisters, one older that she didn’t get along with and one younger that she loved and protected. Akshay had always wondered what it would be like to have siblings. Though he lived in many foster homes that had other children in them, it simply was not the same. Akshay had never felt like he really was a part of any of those families to truly call those other kids siblings. Besides, many times they were shifting homes so much that he never got a chance to stay long enough to feel close to any of those kids.
He was adopted by lovely people, though. They had no other kids and adopted no others, but he at least did know what it was like to live with a complete family. Though siblings would have been nice. From Emerald’s account, it sounded like it was both fun and a trial. He wondered if he would have ever made a good brother.
The conversation then shifted to the Emerald’s parents. In some ways they reminded him a little of his own. The stern mother and the goofy father encompassed the Iris family completely. Though his mother was not as stern as all that, simply protective of him to the point that it seemed like she was being stern. Akshay had to admit that Emerald’s family sounded nice. Maybe one day, he would get to meet them.
Her job sounded interesting too! At least far more interesting than his own job. Though Akshay loved the comic book world and everything to do with it, he did love to meet mutants. Emerald worked as a bouncer at a diner and that was really just too cool. On top of all that, from how she described her inability to keep from helping people, she must have been some type of real life hero as well! He was just geeking out too much over this woman. She really did seem far too good to be true.
In the end, all Akshay could do as he looked at her was smile in a little goofy smile. She was so modest about herself and her actions that it was simply unbelievable. Though he had never heard of the wolf girl’s antics before, he was sure that she probably helped more people than she would ever admit to.
“Wow,” he said with a tinge of awe. “You really have a far more interesting life than mine.”
He remembered the one time that he had tried to be a hero. Back when he was a kid and he was first adopted and living in New York City, he tried to help someone being mugged. It nearly cost him his own life…and actually seemed to be the thing that unleashed his own mutant powers. Though Akshay never really called himself a coward, at times it felt like it. He’d done a good job so far of avoiding danger and he prayed that if he ever got caught in it again, he wouldn’t turn tail and run. It was wishful thinking, though.
Just as he was entertaining these thoughts, though, there was suddenly the scent of cooked food coming closer and closer. A peered out of the corner of his eye and watched as the waitress returned, laden with a pair of dishes, obviously both Emerald’s and Akshay’s orders, along with their drinks. The waitress beamed happily at them as she set their food down on the tables.

Wow if Rebecca could see the albatross around her neck that Akshay could see, he was sure that she would probably freak out. In all honesty she looked like hell. Whatever it was that she was thinking about, that was plaguing her mind, it was obvious that she was having a tough time wrapping her head around it. She looked confused, scared, worried but most of all, just like she needed to unload whatever it was from her shoulders. It was as if she really needed to talk and she simply had no way to do it.
The young wordsmith frowned a little. In as short a time as he knew Rebecca, he knew that she was a real sweetheart. What could get her down so utterly?
>> "Ah know, but opening is...Well, Ah guess Ah can make it quick fer now."
A glance at the clock and he too noticed that they were getting very close to closing time. Maybe it would simply be better to wait until after work to discuss anything? But one look at Rebecca and he knew he could not resend his offer. They could at least discuss some of what was going on in Rebecca’s life now to get it over with.
>> "Ah hae a friend, an' thes friend has bin mah best friend since Ah got tae America, but in th' pest month there's bin thes... unmentioned romantic tension. Th' thin'g is, mah friend awreddy has a girlfriend."
Ah love. Of course that had to be the issue. For someone as sweet as Rebecca he was not surprised that she was already having suitors. The sucky thing was that, of course, it involved a friend. A friend who was already seeing someone. There had been a time or two when Akshay himself had been trapped in a similar situation. It never seemed that whatever action you took was the correct one.
He crossed his arms over his chest as he watched her. There was obviously more that she wanted to say…
>> Plus, Ah'm nae sure if whit Ah feel is a real interest ur thes is jist coz she was th' first person Ah've ever gotten sae close tae."
“Oh, well, obv—“ he paused in mid-advice giving. Did he really just hear that the friend that Rebecca was into was actually a she.
He paused to play a little movie in his head.
…
And then it was done! Now that that was out of his system he turned his full attention back to Rebecca as he listened intently. Just watching her face it was obvious that the poor thing was agonizing over what was going on her in life. How confusing it must be. To feel attraction for someone but never sure if it is an attraction out of real interest or simply because they were nice to your first. That could always lead to some seriously messed up circumstances.
>> “Tae top it aff, Ah havnae seen 'er all week, an' Ah'm worried she's upset wi' me... ur e'en herself."
Finally Rebecca had come to the end of her story and turned around to finish cleaning one of the counters. He frowned a little as he watched her clean, just feeling the bad feelings exuding off of her must smaller form. He sighed. He hated to see people he considered his friends in pain. And sadly, whatever this situation was, it must have been painful.
He waited for a few seconds, letting the silence envelope them, before he finally opened his mouth to reply.
“Wow, that’s…quite a pickle.” He uncrossed his arms from his chest as he carefully rubbed the back of his neck in thought. “Attracted to someone who’s already in a relationship, and a friend on top of that,” He sighed as he glanced up to his clock and noticed that there was obviously no way he was going to fix this problem right now. With four minutes left, they needed to open. Stepping up behind her he carefully placed a friendly hand on her shoulder and smiled warmly. “Hey, what’s say I treat you to a drink, or dinner tonight? You look like you need the company and we can discuss this more, if you feel up to it.”

>> “Good, keep surprising me, it’s a good way to keep this Alpha on her toes anyways.”
Akshay just had to chuckle. It was good to know that he was keeping her on her toes. He really did like her and he enjoyed where this date was going. Normally by now he would either be slapped or some other mishap would go on. But not this time. It seemed as if he were actually saying the right things, for once, to a young woman whose company he truly enjoyed. Though this was only their first date, he hoped that many more would follow that would have the same flow.
The picture was handed back to him and Akshay gratefully accepted it. Once it was safely in his hands, he reopened his backpack and slipped the protected paper inside, nestling it amongst his drawing book and the rose that he had brought her.
He backpack once against set at his feet, he turned his attention back to Emerald. He smirked because he could hear that happy wag of her tail. At least he was doing this right and he was thankful for it.
>> “So, isn’t it your turn to ask me a question?”
“OH! I guess it is, isn’t it?” he said with a light chuckle.
Now, Akshay did not want to be too nosey and ask a bunch of questions that Emerald would find inappropriate. Though he could have certainly laid those out in a joking manner, that was not his intention. Instead the young wordsmith pondered for a couple of minutes on exactly what to ask her. What would be appropriate but not too vague either? After all, he wanted to get to know her, not ask her a bunch of mysteries. Maybe it would be better to keep things general…
“Okay, Alpha,” he said with a little smirk. Since he kept surprising her so much, he could at least give her a bit more power over the conversation. “Why don’t you tell me about yourself? Where do you work? Have family? Battle evil spawn of the underworld? Whatever you want to tell me.”

Akshay had waited patiently for Emerald to finish glancing between the picture that he had drew and himself. He had exaplined exactly why he liked her. Not just because he thought that she was a beautiful woman but also because she had this vulnerability about her that she used to make herself strong. He could see it when he looked at her, even if she didn’t. And that was honest what was the most appealing.
But was it too much? Would she take it as simply another line that he was trying to feed her? He knew guys could be real jerks that loved to say things like that to disarm any women. He really and truly hoped that she did not think the same of him.
>> “You know Akshay you are way too nice.”
For a split second, Akshay flashed back to the majority of his relationships. Relationships that ended with phrases exactly like he uttered. Yeah, he was just soooo nice that he deserved someone who could actually appreciate that. Unfortunately it seemed as if every woman he dated had the exact thing to say of him. He was actually beginning to hate being considered the “nice guy”.
But, judging from Emerald’s expression, it seemed as if that was not what she was trying to suggest. As a matter of fact…she looked pleased…
>> ”Seriously though, thank you, it’s been a while since I’ve been with a guy as sweet as you. You have a good heart, most people don’t see much behind the whole werewolf thing. You on the other hand, instead of the whole werewolf thing, you go straight towards how well I fought when we first met and I’m pretty sure you’re the only person that has called me beautiful in quite a long time. That’s actually something I really like about you, you never cease to surprise me in the most miraculous sort of ways.”
Akshay just grinned from ear to ear as he listened to the praise coming from Emerald’s lips. That was definitely a new one for him. Yes, he heard the “you have a good heart” line before but from Emerald it really did feel heartfelt. At this moment he really did feel like a good hearted man.
He nodded as he beamed at Emerald.
“I hope I never stop surprising you,” he said with a coy smile. “It’s the least a woman like you deserves.”

Akshay was quiet as he sat back, watching Emerald look over the drawing that he had done. It was one that reminded him the most of the link that he saw between Emerald and Slaagathor. Looking at the two subjects together really was like the melding of two worlds that Akshay simply could not make sense of. To him it really was as if his character had jumped off the page and was sitting there and surveying his own work of her. It was just insane. He never thought that a thing such as this would ever happen.
But sitting here, watching her look it over, he knew the reality of the situation. It was just inspiring to see her look over his masterpiece. He hoped that she liked it and didn’t think he was some chauvinistic pig for the type of drawing he did. After all, not a lot of people enjoyed looking at comics in which scantily clad women were to subject.
The seconds that passed were done in agony. Being an artist, it was obvious that he both loved and despised criticism. Would he get praise? Or would she slap him and storm off in anger? When he saw her look up, he knew the answer to that question was coming…
>> "This is...really good…I remind you of her? Cause I'll admit, I'm flattered cause she's sort of flawless looking."
He smirked at her response! The look on her face was enough to make him grin from ear to ear. She really did like the drawing and she was not going to try and kill him! He was extremely thankful for that.
But listening to her statement he could only shake his head with a tiny smile on his lips.
“She’s not flawless,” he said with a nod. “You see, there’s a bit of a philosophy around comics. No one can get behind a hero that is flawless. Flawless heroes are…not human. There is nothing to connect with.” he shrugged. But a small twinkle in his eyes appeared as he watched her. “That is why you remind me of her. You’re strong, beautiful, but no one is without their trials in life. To me that makes you, and my character, far better than anyone trying to be flawless. It makes you human...and that's what I like the most...”
