The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

Character
Personality: It's safe to say that Leyla is a sociopath, though she blends into society quite well. She has no problem destroying those around her to get what she wants, but as almost nothing makes her truly happy, what she 'wants' is always changing, so she's always hurting people. She has no close friends, although she has plenty of connections. For her, people are no more than tools at her disposal, and she's very good at both manipulation and terrorizing. No matter how hard she tries, she finds herself in furious envy of the people she makes happy because she can't satisfy herself. Generally, she seems emotionless and icy, but Leyla is also prone to extreme rage. Hobbies/ Interests: Spends a lot of time at spas, getting her nails done, exercising, keeping herself pampered. That or she's out getting people hooked on her power or threatening them just to watch their pathetic faces. Job or part time job and description: She doesn't have an official job. She's sort of an escort, but instead of selling her body, she sells her power. Wealthy people will pay her to come to parties and keep everyone happy, and addicts of all flavors also come to her. In addition to this work, she rips off her customers whenever possible (taking advantage while they're under her influence) to make extra money. Fears/ phobias/ concerns: Nothing really scares her, but her inability to achieve contentment eats away at her constantly. Special talents: Leyla is an experienced con woman and knows a hundred ways to cheat someone out of their savings. She speaks Turkish and Russian fluently, Arabic and English semi-fluently. She also plays cards quite well.
Morality
Good/ bad/ neutral/ other: Bad (-6). Leyla's been a sociopath since before she could legally be identified as one. She has no moral code whatsoever except for getting what she wants and advancing herself. She doesn't go out of her way to make people suffer unless she truly dislikes them, but she won't hesitate to hurt someone if there's something in it for her.
Mutations
Mutation description: Leyla has the ability to induce euphoria in people within about twenty feet of her. The state is disorienting and incredibly pleasurable, almost like a drug high, starts within a minute or so of contact, and lasts for about 10 minutes after she comes into contact with someone. More or less depending on their own willpower and resilience to influence. Strengths: She makes a lot of money off of her ability and also uses it to disorient people so she can take advantage of them. She can also affect several people by shifting from one to the next, leaving the previous with residual effects. Weaknesses: If she uses her power too long (several hours), at too far a distance (20 feet), or on too many people at once (4), her concentration usually can't keep up and she becomes mentally exhausted. Though it's unclear whether or not using her power on others actually worsens her own mood, the sight of other people enjoying pure happiness infuriates her and often pushes her into violent rages. All at once she needs her power and she despises it. Also, in combat situations, adrenalin weakens the effects of her power.
Fighting Style
Explanation: Although most of her conflicts are dealt with through manipulation, if she needs to go against someone hand-to-hand, her style truly depends on her rage level. If she doesn't feel particularly furious, she will use her powers to throw them off, and then use physical force. However, if she's too angry to use her powers or feels the need for a physical outlet, she will simply enjoy the fight. She fights dirty, and she fights ruthlessly. She's not particularly large, but she's strong for her size and always has weapons (mostly knives) on her person. Pros for fighting style: Her emotions fuel her physically and give her more strength. Also, Leyla's ruthlessness and fury may catch people by surprise if they'd seen her cool, collected side first. Also, her size and luxury-centric demeanor may throw them off. Cons for fighting style: As previously mentioned, her powers are less effective when the target has high adrenalin levels. As for her rage, it may give her strength, but it can also make her incredibly sloppy and over-emotional. If she's too angry, she won't think as clearly and may leave herself vulnerable in order to cause more pain to her opponent.
History Of Your Character Raised in Istanbul by her father, a wealthy Turkish businessman, Leyla was actually borne in Krasnodar by his young Russian lover. Her mother was a drug addict and a sometimes-prostitute. When Leyla was very young, her mother took her to parties where other addicts abused her, probably triggering her psychopathy. Once her father found out about her poor treatment, he moved her to Istanbul to live with the rest of his family. Leyla was raised in the good life, although it was always clear that she wasn't the same as her legitimate siblings. From a young age, she showed signs of cruelty. She lied constantly, played mean pranks on other children, and stole whatever she wanted. Because of her family's standing, she got away with it. When she was 14 and at a party, she noticed that the other kids were acting very strangely. Though some had been drinking, they were all acting completely delirious with happiness. After a while, Leyla figured out that it was a mutation, though she kept that fact to herself. When she was 17, a girl from her school made a joke about Leyla's parentage. Leyla was caught for beating the girl within an inch of her life. Her father threatened to throw her out of the house, so she stole a large amount of his money and bought a one-way ticket to New York, where she had heard there were mutants that didn't have to live in hiding. She lived reasonably well in New York for several years, just making money off of local junkies and running small-time cons with a couple of different partners. But then a group of them decided that they didn't want to pay for her services, and they attacked her and kidnapped her, cutting off her pinkie finger to make her use her powers. When she finally got the chance to get away, one of them came around and stabbed her in the back on her way out. Leyla made it to the hospital and decided that she would live better. After burning down the building the addicts had lived in, she started running bigger cons, and making connections in the wealthy New York society. She now lives in a large, posh apartment, and rarely wants for money.
Roleplay Where did you learn about this site?: Google Do you have any other characters on MRO, if so who: N/A Sample RP: Gina had suggested that Leyla keep the customers busy and hazy while she went and raided the rest of the house, but to hell if Leyla was going to trust that she'd get her fair share if they did it that way. Neither of them had gone upstairs yet, so she took the opportunity to get first crack at the valuables. She stroked the arm of the fat moron funding this soiree, and gave him an extra dose of happiness to keep him sedated. "I going for bathroom, OK?"
He nodded, his face split into a stupid grin that she wanted to slice open from ear to ear with a dull knife. She smiled gently, patted his shoulder, then stole upstairs, straight to the master bedroom. The wife had made no effort to keep her valuables hidden away. Diamond earrings, sapphire pendants. It was absurdly easy to just slide it all into her purse. One quick shuffle through the husband's sock drawer revealed a sizable wad of cash. "Salak," she sniggered. "Moron." As she tucked the bills in with the jewelry, the bedroom door opened, and Gina fixed her with a glare.
"You're ripping me off?" she demanded. Leyla adopted an easy smile and, as she pulled her hand from her purse, palmed the flip knife she kept there.
"Gina, balim, honey," she cooed. "I could not. I just am too hurried, maybe. I want to see what is here." She took a few slow steps toward her partner, a cat stalking the mouse. "You think I'm stupid? Hand it over or I'm out."
With a sigh, Leyla shook her head and stepped forward. In a flash, the knife was against the other woman's face, pressed just enough to draw a few drops of blood. She poured out a bit of her power to keep Gina from fighting too much. "Balim," she murmured into her ear. "Honey. Do you think I am stupid? You would do the same. Now. Five minutes, those salaklar sober up. I will leave before that. You can also leave, and they will see their valuables gone. Or they can see you on the floor with a knife in your pretty face." The other woman nodded, expression caught between the pleasant haze and the paralyzing fear. Leyla pressed a wet kiss to her cheek. "See? Not one of us is stupid." She stepped back and closed the knife before walking to the balcony doorway. There was a tree just outside that she could climb down. " Çok guzel, my dear. I don't think we are working together again." She waved and closed the balcony doors behind her. She didn't even think about how Gina would get out. Honestly, she didn't care.
