The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

"Yup, Anything you want all day long. You want steak and eggs at midnight then Frank and the night crew will be happy to oblige. Lemme go grab your drinks hun."
Streak waited for her to get back with his drink. He rubbed his eyes and tried to stifle another yawn. There were just too many people going crazy about this mutant thing for it to do any good. Not that he didn't blame them. It was just his job to keep the peace and not to succumb to the mounting tensions that are occurring.
"Anthropologists actually. Mom has always been fascinated by religions while Dad just studied whatever culture caught his eye. They traveled a lot for work and due to a lucky lottery break. I was born in Athens, hence the name Athena. So what about you? What's your name?"
"That's a pretty cool way to come up with a name. I guess it's good you weren't born in Poland or some place where all their city names are weird. I've always enjoyed mythology stuff." he took a sip of his water. It was like he'd been dehydrated for the past few days. Once he set it down he answered her question. "I don't have a cool story like that for my name but I'm Shawn."
Shawn casually glanced over the menu, not really reading them, just looking at the pictures. "You look pretty tired, why don't you sit down?"He suggested. "I grew up in Texas with my family and moved here years ago. Now, I work at a school around here." Among other things was just a thought that he was tempted to say but didn't. There were a lot of things that needed to get done but he was surely allowed a break every once in a while. Even if it was for just a quick bite.

"Little girl, why don't you run along while I carve up your friend here? I'd hate for you to be the next X-men I kill."
Streak knew to what he was referring to. That was a dark time for him. Him and Fade had been really close before her death. It was never really determined what happened, but there was surely plenty of speculation as to what happened to her. It was the first time that he'd lost a person on a mission before. It hadn't really happened since then. He'd revised his plans ever since that fateful day and the teams never operated the same since then. But the day range clear in his mind now.
Streaks eyes, unconsciously, darkened to almost a black. His anger was now apparent and even the rest of his silver took on a duller tint than what it had been seconds ago from the light."It'll certainly be the last time you hurt an X-men." It seemed almost fateful now that these two met up here tonight. Plenty of other fights had been since that day but none had been as one on one as this one was.
Someone else showed up. Who's this kid? he thought. Streak surprisingly didn't know her except by face. The silvermancer turned to her, slightly. His dark pupil-less eyes showed nothing. He looked back at Shade. "This guys just lost. Right?" This was Streak's way of giving Shade one chance to get out of here without leaving in a pine box. He didn't think that Shade would take it but maybe this person would get the girl out of here and they could have this duel out in private.

Streak was still running toward the mutant when he saw the blade thrown. There was nothing he could do about it; but luckily it looked like a miss. This kid didn't know who she was meddling with. It wasn't often that Shade missed and she should consider herself lucky that she did. The loud shouts fro shade seemed out of character for him. At least, any time Streak had come up against him it seemed that they always had a more subtle conversation.
He wasn't going to let this guy get away again. He'd slipped away one to many times for Streak's liking. He was nearing the area where the explosion occurred and both other mutants seemed to have their wits about them. There wasn't much time for him to waste. Streak needed to get the girl out and get this perpetrator before it was to late and he slipped into the shadows again.
Arriving on the scene, Streak immediately got in between Kaitlyn and Shade. "It seems we always come across each other like this. Wouldn't you agree?" He mainly meant that he seemed to keep putting himself between someone and Shade. It was only foreplay that Streak was dabbling in as he made the comment. There was really no need for it but it helped him cope with the facts of what was happening.
Unbeknownst to either of the others, Streak was a little hesitant to do this by himself. He remembered the last time something like this happened. The last time this happened he'd been jumped and kidnapped. Not only was he kidnapped, he had lost his powers for some time and had thankfully regained them after a lot of hard work. Streak really wasn't looking forward to any of this happening again. He hoped his backup would be coming soon. He could certainly take Shade by himself. He'd done it before. But he didn't know if there were more lurking in the shadows that his cameras or he wouldn't be able to see until it was to late.

The waitress seemed chipper enough; however, her face and the bags under her eyes began to betray just how tired she really was. If he didn't know any better he'd think that she'd been awake for the past few days. Not that he could really say he'd been much better. The words uprising were something that he was all to familiar with and he was only just beginning to hear the words uttered again as mutants seemed to be looking for justice that followed the outrage of the newest mutant-hate phenomenon. Streak looked up and smiled a tired smile. It was all he could do to keep himself from falling asleep when the lady started her spiel.
"Good morning! Welcome to Frank's Joint. My name is Athena and I'll be your waitress today. The soups for today are chili and potato. Now what can I get you to drink?"
"I'll take a coffee, as strong as you can make it, and a water to start." His voice was gravelly instead of its normal smooth tenor. It had the air of someone that had been outside in this retched weather for hours on end shouting to be heard. In truth he had been and he was just trying to get some quite before he was needed to try and keep the order again.
"Do y'all serve breakfast all day here?"
He was really hoping this was the case. He could certainly use a good old fashioned egg, bacon, and toast. But if they weren't in the breakfast serving mood then he'd settle for something else to catch his fancy. It took this long for him to realize what she said her name was. His brain was definitely working in slow motion today. "Athena. That's an awesome name. Your parents must have been mythologists or something." Shawn wasn't trying to pry he was just trying to keep himself awake.

Tired was an understatement. It was more like he was run ragged. His eyes were showing a dimmer silver than normal and his whole body seemed to call out for rest. His hair was a little disheveled, looking like a college kid that spent the whole night cramming for finals. His clothes were clean but if someone asked if he got dressed in the dark and blindfolded he would have to say yes. But rest wouldn't come. It couldn't come. There was just to much going on for him to rest. He needed answers and he needed help. Neither of which seemed to forthcoming.
Streak made his way to a relatively empty looking diner. He wasn't looking for much... Maybe just a cup of coffee and a little something to eat. Shawn hadn't been to this diner before. He didn't even really know where he was. Streak took a seat and hung his head giving an audible sigh. He needed a break. Hell, life needed a break. Breaks wouldn't work and he wasn't going to let things get worse if he could help it. Streak patiently waited for someone to help him at the diner. Maybe things would improve after he had a bit to eat.

All the kids were quite, they weren't expecting a riot, His day off had come, it was a long time waiting Streak had spent the day not cooking or cleaning, When he was asleep his alarm spoke out, There were a few sensor that were in doubt.
Streak got up and groggily went to see what was going on. It was very unusual for his phone to ring, so it must have been something serious. When Streak was in the sensor room, he found that someone had broken in and turned off not only the lights but a few of the more obvious systems. The alarms were something that anyone expected to have; however, he did know that there were some that would be triggered if someone broke the wrong twig out there at night.
Soon the cameras were flipped back on and recording. He didn't bother to turn the lights on just yet. The silvermancer wanted to see if there was an area that stood out among the rest. Some of the cameras weren't very useful since they were designed for daytime only; others were designed for night and he was able to see most of the grounds. FInally they were located. Streak couldn't believe his eyes. He recognized the girl from her folder when she checked in. What she was doing outside at night he couldn't see; however, he was able to make out her handing something to someone. Streak couldn't tell who she was talking to. It was either someone that was well hidden, or someone that had a special talent in the night. That was all he needed. Streak put in a call to a couple of the team in case he needed backup. Then he flipped the switch.
The spotlights blared on and the grounds lit up. There wasn't an area that couldn't be seen now as Streak raced out to catch what was going on. He'd fixed a couple of cameras on the area that he was looking at in the dark so that when the lights went on there was no missed information. The silver mutant showed up under the lights. He was reflecting more of the light and almost like a moving mirror with a bad glare on it. He made a bee line for Kaitlyn and her unknown friend. It would be mere seconds before the was to where they were. Who knew what he would find there.

Streak saw the knives fly past him and the guy he was rescuing. They struck his car. "Come on man! Don't you have any self respect." Streak said as he stopped running towards his knife impaled car. There's three things you don't do in a fight. One, mess with a dudes car. Two, hit him in the balls. And three... Hit a girl. Apparently Shade was just determined to break all the rules tonight. Streak needed to teach him a lesson. "Keep going to the car. It'll still run." Streak said to Alex. I think He added under his breath.
The silvermancer turned and headed back towards the girl that was now flailing on the ground. Her cell phone was now gone but the cops were on their way so even if his car didn't run they could take them to the mansion. His run to rescue the girl was stopped abruptly as he was temporarily blinded. "Ahh! What the hell?!" Streak asked confused and for the second time tonight disoriented. As his vision cleared he saw the girl still lying on the floor; but he didn't see the attacker. Maybe the bright light had made him run away to his shadows. Shade's goon squad was catching up to them. Unfortunately, they didn't look like they were to disoriented by the blinding light. Maybe they were to far away when it happened. Streak created a silver staff and said, "Quick get up! Head towards the car." Streak still wasn't sure that his car could get them out of there but it was worth a shot. EVen if he did mess up the tires a little.
As the goons attacked the X-men fended them off one by one. The first one attacked. He had a bat and was swinging for the fences. Streak blocked and moved out of the way as his momentum carried him the rest of the way across the street. Fortunately, there was a street light still on pretty close by. As the second attacked, his block intercepted the knife that was coming at his stomach and he countered with a smack across his face. The bat guy was coming back at him from behind and got a swift kick to the stomach as he ran straight into Streak's foot. The big question on Streak's mind was where did Shade go?
(OOC: Shade let me know if I need to change anything)

"Once again you over estimate yourself Shade." Streak said to his old enemy. The Order members didn't seem as together as they normally were for operations like this. It was probably a good thing since Koga and himself were outnumbered.
The talk the silvermancer was having with Shade was cut short when the all to familiar malachite cut through the pottery shop floor and he disappeared from view. "Now's out chance to make like a tree and split." He said to Koga. Streak knew the saying perfectly well but he refrained from those choice words because the situation just didn't seem right for them. Besides if he knew anything about the Order, which he did, they had best escape now or they'd be heading towards certain all out battle.
Streak dashed out the same way he came in the shop and hoped that his lizard friend was following him. "Ok time to go buddy. Come with me if you vant to live." Shawn recognized the face but the name escaped him. His best Arnold Schwarzenegger impression was still horrible but it was more that he got the point across with this guy.
"I know this guy they after you. He's not good. The mansion is the only place where you can be safe from him. Lets go. He can follow us as long as theirs shadows." Streak started leading the way back to his car. "Koga! Grab the girl and let's go!" He didn't want to hear about any accidents on the news about some bystander that they'd left at the scene of the battle.

Shawn watched the whole thing from the outside. He watched the guy Koga was protecting attack the shadow mutant first. Obviously going for the element of surprise. Streak had seen that before. It was when they were shooting a movie and looking for mutant extras around the city. He didn't think that he'd be seeing this guy anytime soon. All the more reason to help now, he supposed. He didn't remember his name but the mutation was certainly familiar. There weren't a lot of mutants that could do things like that.
Streak picked himself up off the floor outside the pottery shop. He was about about jump in and start causing a distraction for Koga to get away when the explosion occurred. He shook some of the broken glass off him and shook his head to get some of the ringing out of his ears. When his vision cleared, he was on the move. He jumped through the now broken window. What was the point of a door if there was a giant opening to go through that was easier. Oddly there was a girl that decided to see if anyone was hurt.
b"Is everyone okay?"
"Get out of here and call the cops." Streak said to her. It probably came out a bit angry and mean, but he didn't need to be responsible for some random person, along with helping Koga rescue this guy. This was about to get bad quickly. Streak formed two knives in each hand. He'd fought this guy before. It'd been a while but he was pretty sure that this guy's style couldn't have changed that much in the elapsed time. Streak pulled down the shutters and let a little more of the outside light in. "I don't think he'll have time to get to me. We need to get him to the mansion." Streak told Koga.
That was the safest place around. Especially since he'd made modifications that most of the X-men didn't even know about. The silvermancer turned to the new entrance to the building that the builder hadn't had in their original design plans. He stood looking at a girl with their person between him and Koga. Kind of like an X-Men sandwich. Streak now spoke to his old shadow enemy. "You've been quiet for a long time. What brings you back? Run out of kids to scare?" Streak knew the talking wouldn't last long but the longer they talked the more time it gave him to stop his head from spinning. That concussive blast he received had really done a number on him. He was getting better though. If they could get into the street they would have a better chance than inside this confined building. They'd also have a chance to get to his car and back to the mansion. Inside they were at a disadvantage.

Being in the city at night didn't usually involve him not being in a club. Tonight, ironically wasn't one of those nights. It just so happened that he was finishing watching the new shoot 'em up movie. As he returned to his car his communicator started going off.
The silver mutant picked it up and listened to the message. It was a call for help. The message was pretty nondescript and short. But if someone was in trouble they didn't have much time to leave a detailed message at the tone. "On my way." he punched in the location that the communicator was giving off and sped away. He recognized some of the buildings. Streak hadn't been there in a while but he'd been in the area before.
If there was one thing he'd learned from all his dealings with mutants it was that things tended to get messy and escalate quickly. The Silverman parked his car a couple of blocks away and ran the rest of the way. Before he jumped in he took the time to look around at the other buildings. Most were dark but he did notice some thugs hanging around looking like they were waiting on a signal of some kind. The silvermancer looked at the building he was standing outside of. A pottery shop? If this is for just some burglary they should have called the cops. Streak thought.
Then he took a glance inside the window. He saw Koga and some guy talking to someone that he could hardly see near the shadows. Only one person he knew of could do that. But he hadn't seen that guy in a long time. He was one of the few that could give him a run for his money in a fight. Was it possible that he was back? And if he was here then those thugs were probably his too. Streak waited outside, watching and waiting for someone to make the first move. With the lights of the street and the smog in the air it would be easy to see the light reflecting off of Streak's body; if they were paying attention and happened to look his way.
