The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

Seyta looked up hearing David mumble something. "You think i'm crazy don't you?" It wouldn't surprise her considering what she was describing. "God, it still sounds nuts saying it out loud... Please believe me, I'm not crazy." She watched him with a pleading look. Granted she had this conversation with Venus, the day she woke up actually, but she hadn't grasped the whole situation. Seyta needed someone like David to listen and understand this.
Everything can be found on Google. According to her brother anyway. Turns out he was right. It took several searches: How to spy on someone, how to blend in with crowds, ect..., but Seyta managed to come up with a rather good list of notes to follow.
Looking them over gave her a good idea of what she needed to take care of before she actually started spying. Getting some clothes that didn't draw in attention was the first item...and for once she was paying for it. Seyta went to her bedroom and pulled open the bottom drawer of her dresser. Buried under the clothes on the right side were two shoe boxes, which held her share of the cut from her first job in the Order... $40,000 in cash. This seemed as good of a use as any.
Taking a few hundred dollars she looked back at her notes and the ones she took from Lenna. There where three known places for Romano and Cheng to meet. She would check out one of them tonight. Get a feel for the place, and do the same for the other two later in the week.
Luckily there wasn't anyone else in the restroom, Seyta had spent the last fifteen minutes mix-and-matching accessories and makeup to give her the same appearance as the receptionist she stole an ID card from. She left the fake with the woman she had stolen the real card from, it gave her a bigger chance of getting caught, but if there where doors that needed card swipes to open, real was better.BZZT BZZT BZZZZZT Seyta checked the phone Dorian had given her.
>> ‘I’m at the roof. Get ready.’
She made a quick reply: 'All set here.' She looked close enough for her mutation to take care of the rest when she passed other people in the halls. Stepping out into the hall and waited for Dorian to get to the security office, doing her best to look like she was suppose to be there and was working. In retrospect, if the TIMES gave tours of the plant this would have been easier.
>> "Alright, a dream. Are we talking about a literal one or a figurative one?"
“Um…both?” The more she thought about it the worse it sounded. IF David remembered anything from the dream then this would go well, if not…
>> "And in this dream you had a knife because..."
She sighed stretching out on the couch as she gathered her thoughts. Straightforward was always the best approach, hopefully. “I was an arena fighter… in um, death fights. Roach ran the place, called it ‘The Pit’. Oh, and the world was blown to s*** because of world war three. One of us caused it but I don’t remember who.” With a half-smile she watched his expression. “Anyway… I want the knife I had in The Pit. Something about it felt right.”
>>“Go ahead and make yourself comfortable, I’ll get us started on that coffee.”
"Thanks." With a smile she dropped onto the couch and unzipped the thigh-high boots she had been in all night. They were platforms as well... not exactly comfortable. With curiosity she watched David put together a makeshift camp stove. The use of vodka made her raise an eyebrow.
>> “Alright, now I’m listening.”
"Ok..." She bit her lip thinking. "There was this um... dream." The explanation sounded crazy in her head. Venus had explained things slightly to her before but she had no idea if David knew anything about it or not.
Seyta nodded jotting down notes as Lenna gave her the details. She was the observer, nothing more. Getting up as She was dismissed Seyta left feeling more at ease knowing she was outside the range of Lenna's ability again. As long as she could pull everything together for this mission she would find herself doing well in the Order.
Continued from Mission Briefing in Brief --------------------------------------------------------------
Seyta stared at the notes she had taken then looked back at her closet. She needed something to make herself even more a part of the crowd for this. The only problem was, she didn’t own anything like that. Stealing the clothes was an option but that took tome. She had time, but didn’t want to waste it.
She also had no idea what was really going to be requited of her. Seyta didn’t have any idea of how exactly she wanted to do this either. She needed help, or at least some job training. “Where the hell do I get training to be a spy?” Bond Movies probably, which she had never watched, were the best source if information. Seyta had the internet though, always a good second option.
>> “Seyta, just do this for me? I'd druther know where you are and that you are safe there than let you be down here. You know how you want that knife? Well I want you to stay where you'll be safe tonight. Think of it as me present.”
Seyta nodded "Alright, since you're really that worried I'll stay." It felt a bit weird, staying at a guys house for the night. Especially a rather cute one like David. Then again, she had never had a date since her high school prom over a decade ago, so everything about this was slightly weird.
Once they got to Davids apartment Seyta looked around, best she could in the dark, while he got candles set up for some light. From what she could see it was rather neat. Once he actually started lighting the candles she turned to smile. For having the world cheapest Halloween costume he did look pretty good in the candle light. It wasn't exactly a romantic date, but the night was ending rather well, with a knight to even look out for her. "So... um. Coffee." She wasn't sure how much the lack of light and her makeup would hide her blush.
>> "...I figured it was something you could gnash your teeth on, while you got some practice with that. The pay is cash. And potentially something more."
Spying, that was a bit unexpected but not impossible for her. Although without some details Seyta would be lost as to what she needed to learn. As for the reward, Lenna's face made the wall behind her look expressive. Either way Seyta would figure it out when everything was done with. For now, details. "Seems straight forward. I'm better at getting great discounts at stores, but I'll manage. What do we already know and what do I need to find out?"
>> "Fine! You can have me bed. Couch is well enough for me."
"I said maybe..." Setting the last of the bags down she turned towards where the door should be. "Shouldn't be too hard to get to your place now right?" It was a bit sad that he had now been to her apartment twice and she had never been to his, even though they were in the same building. She doubted that he could see it but she smiled anyway and stumbled back into the hall. "Lead the way."
Seyta chuckled, she already demonstrated how. "I knocked three times and you didn't notice I was there until I Spoke to you...and no I'm not invisible." She leaned forwards smiling innocently, as innocently as a potential terrorist could anyway. "The only thing I have issues with are cameras, as in security cameras. If someone can occupy those for a while all I will need is a good suite, a flash-drive with a digital copy of your work and a fake ID for the Times." The plan was simple... overly simple in fact. That's why it would work. Her mutation would handle anyone up close and the suite with the ID would deal with anyone outside her range. "As long as the cameras are out or not being watched then I can walk right into the lead editors room and paste your writing with a great title and click print. Knowing the way they crank the papers out there will be thousands of copies shipped and deivered to news stands before they even realize it and stop the presses."
>> " Please, have a seat. I've got a mission for you, should you choose to accept it."
Seyta sat and leaned back as far as the chair would go. She studied Lenna for a few seconds deciding if she could get away with putting her feet up, Seyta got the feeling that it was better not to. A mission, she could do that... possibly. "What kind? And is there a reward?" Being on the list for the mission she assumed the task involved stealth in some way. She wasn't very useful for much else, yet.
>> ’I’m in touch with activists and local mutant rights organizations, and they’ve had a few events here and there. Got any ideas?’
A good start, but a slow one. Activist groups took time and effort, Dorian's message needed a game changer. "I have one... It would make a huge impact, however its borderline terrorism according to the law." It was probably best t be honest about the risk before the plan was laid out. That way he wouldn't have to second guess himself after hearing the risks. Hopefully. "I was thinking about putting your writting on the front page of the New York Times..."
>> "Sounds like a fair plan. You could spend the night in my flat iffin you'd like. I mean, it's just... It's just, that something about this night. I don't know. You'd think that by now the grid would have come back up. Not only tha' but it seems to be spreading. I know when I left earlier that we had power. It wasn't even close to here."
Seyta's eyes widened slightly at the offer. She also grinned, it was a bit odd but having someone notice her like that was... intriguing. Leading the way down the hall she stopped at her door and fumbled in the dark for her keys. "Spreading, and moving. I noticed it when we were out. I'm not too worried but I think a few mutants abilities activated soon, probably just a prank gone wrong." Finally getting the door open she flipped on the light switch by instinct... to no avail. After a moment of stumbling she fount a counter and helped David unload the bags. "As for staying the night maybe... we'll see how things go. I'm not sleeping on the couch though."
