The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

Her eyes flicked to the few dollars dropped in her opponents case, Seyta had no idea what was in her's, nor was she going to break her attention to look. Even without the second player the main chorus of the song was easy enough for Seyta to play, and play well. She saw the girl speak, but didn't catch what was said over the music and the people around them.
Picking up the speed again, nearly double the norm for Dueling Banjo's, Seyta left her pillar and moved towards her opponent. Stopping about three feet away she stopped and played just a bit softer, so is didn't sound like she had moved much closer, though the echoes off the walls did make it difficult to judge exact volume. intimidation factors aside, being closer made it possible to hear what was said in case the girl spoke again.
The girls response took a moment to match Seyta's tune, but there was an air of confidence that came with it. However it was apparent that she didn't know Dueling Banjo's but was bold enough to improvise a response. Well well well, lets see if the kid can keep that up. A simple idea, keep the challenge going for as long as possible. If they cold play off each other long enough Seyta's mutation would be less of an issue for a larger audience if they attracted enough attention.
On the other hand Seyta did plan on winning. Keeping her stare locked on the girl, she moved into the next verse of Dueling banjo's and picked up her speed. Her opponent had confidence, and enough skill to show she had been playing for a while. Unfortunately for her, Seyta had been professionally trained in violin for several years. As she ended the verse a grin spread across her lips like a cat deciding to play with a mouse before eating it.
There was a girl in her spot, playing guitar in fact. Seyta couldn't legally own the pillar but that was the one she was always at when she was playing. The only reason for being in the subway was that more people meant more chances for a few bucks to slip past her mutation, and it was cold outside on the street.
Adjusting the violin on her shoulder, and double checking the Ka-bar in its sheath on her belt Seyta moved to the next closest pillar facing the girl. She looked to be in her teens, might have been twenty but no older. The space between the pillars was just about the same size as Seyta's range. If things worked out this girl might even help her make a bit more than normal. Nothing wrong with some friendly competition right?
Setting her case down Seyta quietly tuned her violin and grinned. The girl didn't seem to be playing anything specific, so Seyta setting a stern glare at the un-knowing girl played the first line of Dueling Banjo's. Loud enough to be heard over the bustle of the people without giving anyone a direction to look at for the source.
>> "...You can play faster on the fiddle bridges I've heard, but then you'd have to have a bit more control over what you're doing... Sorry, rambling..."
The fact that Evelyn knew something about violins made Seyta grin wider. "Not a problem, I don't get to chat about instrument style often. Personally I like the classical style. Makes rock music more of a challenge to play." Moving her instrument back into position she checked the tune quickly. "So, since i have to get back to playing for my numerous fans, got any requests?"
>> "...Of course it would have been a lovely way to go."
Hearing that he wouldn't have wanted to kill her made Seyta smile. He might have given an expected response, but the way he was talking with that cute British accent just made him seem more genuine. Well, it seems he really does care for me. The thought of enjoying being killed by her was unusual though, but she decided he meant it as a compliment.
>> "How do you like your coffee?"
The question pulled her back from her mental wanderings. "Oh, um... One cream one sugar." While he fixed her cup she scooted over on the couch so David didn't need to sit on the floor, it was his apartment after all. "So, a slight change on topic. I still need to tell you what kind of knife I want. It was a Ka-bar combat knife, like the Marines use. Didn't have the seal on it though, so i think it was a civilian model."
I like this idea... but this is also gonna be dangerous for the Order. Even acting through a front organization taking action in that way will essentially Secede NYC, if not all of long island from the US will probably evoke military action...
However, taking a note from the ending of X-men 3 such action is possible, since in MRO-verse there is no "cure" drug to shoot us with. Frankly that and Jean going banana brained were the only reasons Magneto failed.
This type of takeover however needs to be done military coup style though, literally overnight. The Gov may not be that fast in the initial response but if the Order takes its time there will be a forced end similar to the riot plot and the national guard. If the Order DOES make a quick overnight action and New York awakens to find, us in power. We will have time to establish ourselves as well as entrenching our hold. That way, when x-men and NYPD remnants to try and oppose us, we are prepped and ready to hold them off and disband their rebelion.
p.s. To all gov officials that are required to watch for this stuff, it is a fictional role play, don't arrest me....
>> "Pest liked to see me in there unarmed. Gave people th' show he wanted, but even being 'is champion dinnit get me nawt but trouble."
She watched his expression change, knowing that same feeling he had. "Trouble is all he gave any of us... I only got special treatment 'cuz I was valuable to him. Then I got tossed in the trash." A light bulb suddenly clicked on in her head. If David was one of the champions in the pit, he had to be a mutant to. She didn't watch most of the other fights, but she new the names.
>> "Course I'm not calling the police. We just went on a looting spree through New York, and I've still got the bags sitting out."
Well, that was something to be grateful for. As for Both of them being mutants, it felt like something she should share with David. At least if she wanted to get to know him better. Seyta blushed slightly at the thought of having a possible relationship. "Guess that was obvious... Doesn't hurt to check though right? Anyway, we were both in the Pit then. Guess its a good thing we never had to fight each other."
>> “Oh no, I believe yeh. Probably more than anyone else should."
That was a relief, in fact it sounded like he knew the dream. Maybe it was shared like Venus said it was. As he explained Seyta watched him work. his accent started showing through but she understood the jist of what he was saying.
>> “...Sorry. Jest yeh dream makes me think of something I druther not think about. I suppose tha’ there’s worse reasons to want to defend yeh-yourself.”
"It's fine, I'm just glad you aren't calling the police. But honestly, the knife isn't for defense. I used it to kill people in that future. I just feel like i need it, or will need it." She stretched, cracking a few joints as she did, then sat up straight and faced David. "I hope that war doesn't happen, but i want to be ready for it if it does. I used my mutation to stay alive in the Pit. Roach always let me have a weapons fight, but I never was allowed to keep anything until i got that knife. I had to learn how to kill with no experience to help me. That knife became a part of who i was when Roach let me keep it." Memories flashed in her eyes as she described the fights. When she first woke up Seyta was terrified. The more she recalled the dream though the more she felt the same cold apathy she loved from the Pit. Apathy kept her alive, made her a favorite, helped her kill.
The Orders (potential) perfect spy will be returning just in time for something like this... The AoS and riots hit her hard, so theft and blackmail may not be the only things she is willing to do for the order.
With a slight smile Seyta set off. This was the only hard part, finding the editors office and , if he was there, getting him out of the room. The badge she swiped got her through the doors out of the lobby, a good start but it needed to work farther in as well. Making her way through the offices she checked for any kind of sign or map on the walls.
While the exploring took longer than she wanted Seyta found the Lead Editors office. Using the same trick from when she met Dorian she knocked and stepped back from the door. The was no answer. Thank you lady luck Seyta smiled and slipped in. With no way of knowing how long he would be gone Seyta worked quickly. Plugging in the flash-drive Seyta copied Dorian's writings into a full front page spread. With a few more clicks she sent it off to be printed.
Stepping back into the hall Seyta sent Dorian a message as she headed back towards the lobby 'Time to go'.
Opposing mutations... That was surprisingly a new idea to Seyta, She new that some mutants could cancel her own ability but to honestly be the opposite. Taking the offered hand Seyta she shook it with a smile. "Seyta, nice to meet you."
Noticing Evelyn glancing at her violin she held it out. "Are you a violin fan?" There was a hind of eagerness in Sey's voice. Most people liked the music but real fans of the violin were hard to find, mostly because they where so expensive. Her own was a Guarneri del Gesu reproduction, with the top being white spruce, the rest was made from red maple.
>> "...That was a dumb example, and I'm being rude. I'm sorry. You play well."
Seyta could see the woman was struggling, more than most people, to talk to her. "Thanks, I try."
>> "I take it your normal patrons don't stop and interrogate you normally. Useful defensive technique though?"
"Yeah, its useful. But no most people don't even look my way." Most people can't tell it because of a mutation either. So this woman probably was a mutant as well. Probably a psychic judging from her head-ache. "As for what my mutation does... Its complicated, but basically it makes me hard to notice and i can't turn it off."
Seyta looked up; the woman had been staring at her for a while and finally spoke. Seyta however finished the last verse of Sweet Child o' Mine before smiling and tucked her violin carefully under her arm. How exactly this woman knew she was a mutant threw off how Seyta was planning to respond. "Um, yeah I guess so..." She glanced at her meager earnings so far. The hat on the ground held a few buck and change. "Makes me glad this isn't my day job."
Seyta Grinned pulling the bow across her violin to start I love Rock n' Roll. A simple song, but as classic that many people knew. Which meant more money for her. Seyta hadn't been playing for a while, it felt good to get out again.
Even better was that she wasn't working the stockroom later so Seyta could stay here all day if she wanted. Considering her mutation, she might have to if she wanted some decent pocket money from this.
