How long has the Order been plotting and scheming to overthrow the human ran government with the rule passing to the obviously superior race of mutants? Half a decade or more? Anyways, the time is not important. What is important is that the Order runs into a slight problem every time its plans come to fruition: the X-men step in and defeat the Order, saving the world from their tyranny. Well, I have a very simple plot idea. How about the X-men don't win?

Now before anyone gets the idea that this is just another Haywire-like plot idea, let me explain. This is not a future dream-ish alternate reality that is still stopped by X-men. This is the reality.

So whatever the latest idea that the Order comes up with to take control from the humans (The leaders probably know the best way to do this, especially that stinkin' Adapted Lenna) is tried to be stopped by the X-men, but they fail. The X-men have to retreat, some think they are destroyed entirely. Then the Order takes control of New York City, resulting in a scene similar to the newest Batman movie. Mutant are kings, and the humans are the subjects. Lawlessness is rampant. In their mercy, the Order spares the X-mansion from destruction (but changes the curriculum). Also, it might be the fact that it is the only mutant capable school, and they want new mutants to learn about their birthright as mutants. The X-men are in hiding, and for a time, evil rules the world that is New York City.

However, the X-men are not defeated so easily. Working in the shadows, they, along with what is left of the NYPD, slowly begin to plot of a way to topple the Order off their thrones.

This is just the basic idea for the plot. Please let me know what you think below.

I've already got plans in motion for Lenna and the Order to take control of New York, bit by bit, starting with territory and organized crime. Roach and I have talked out-of-character about said plans, and I know Roach has his own dreams and plans, as well.

Right now, the plan is to take over things secretly, until eventually, the x-men and the NYPD take notice that something isn't right in Gotham. Sorry, New York. And then, they might be too late.

I've love to hear other peoples thoughts on this whole thing.

The Orders (potential) perfect spy will be returning just in time for something like this... The AoS and riots hit her hard, so theft and blackmail may not be the only things she is willing to do for the order.

Syn is all for this!! She'll gladly help sway things in the Order's direction. Nothing like a little honey in ones ear to make them see things in a new light.

Lenna, that was what I was thinking too. The Order has been doing so much preparation that when the X-men strike, the Order is able to defeat them. I think it was good too if some of the X-men are "destroyed". Everyone thinks that those X-men are dead, but they are just in hiding. That gives them a slight advantage to use against the Order later.

Thinking about future plots after this, it might be important for the Order, or at least the upper chain of command, to work through a fake organization or puppet that looks like the leader of the movement, but it is the Order that is pulling the strings. This protects the Order/ upper chain of command from being discovered when the X-men finally take back the city.

My idea is that the Order in charge for an extended period of time, like a year or so. While they are in charge, every day life in New York City is completely changed. Humans stay hidden for the most part, going outside only when absolutely necessary. All humans in any positions of power are removed with force. The police force is disbanded and replaced with a ruthless gang of anti-human mutants. Etc. I didn't really have a set idea for this except that things would be completely different. The idea was that the entire site for be sudo-effected by the Order's rule.

I hope this helps to clarify some things.

So, on a level of curious, while the X-men go into hiding and such, do you think any sort of 'good guys' would turn bad in that power shift? Or even appear to go bad. Because that's another twist that could be interesting. I know there are quite a few neutral leaning characters, that would be an interesting time for them to explore a more 'evil' side for awhile.

I like this idea... but this is also gonna be dangerous for the Order. Even acting through a front organization taking action in that way will essentially Secede NYC, if not all of long island from the US will probably evoke military action...

However, taking a note from the ending of X-men 3 such action is possible, since in MRO-verse there is no "cure" drug to shoot us with. Frankly that and Jean going banana brained were the only reasons Magneto failed.

This type of takeover however needs to be done military coup style though, literally overnight. The Gov may not be that fast in the initial response but if the Order takes its time there will be a forced end similar to the riot plot and the national guard. If the Order DOES make a quick overnight action and New York awakens to find, us in power. We will have time to establish ourselves as well as entrenching our hold. That way, when x-men and NYPD remnants to try and oppose us, we are prepped and ready to hold them off and disband their rebelion.

p.s. To all gov officials that are required to watch for this stuff, it is a fictional role play, don't arrest me....

ok, this is a bit of a post-bump cuz i really like this idea and want it on the site radar...

Going along with my previous post. If the Order wants to push ahead with a city takeover (assuming this plot gets mod approval), there needs to be direct communications between the Council and the members with some definitive planning and strategy as to how such a task would be done

An interesting twist to have the villains win for a change. Don't forget about Sledgehammer and his hobo army.

We can plan OOC with some of the members. I've already planned with Roachasaph, and mentioned it to Syn. I was planning to grab Orderlings that were free, for whatever needs we had.

If you were talking about in-character planning, that's a little different. I'd like to avoid that. Lenna might not tell everyone everything, and those threads aren't my favorite to do. Loose lips sink ships, and all of that. *Eyes Shade*

I say both. Mostly OOC, but IC I agree that Lenna and the council should keep things to themselves, but they need a plan. Then, like D-day ion WW2, have the council tell the Orderlings what to do the morning of the attack/takeover.

Planning threads are understandably annoying, but I think at least some form of it is needed IC or a massive change to the plot like this seems very random.

I think the current plot I have brewing could easily lead to this; in fact, that whole premise is Roach pretending to be a man who has seen a future where the mutants win, and is simply warning the world about their attacks as they come.

This could be the end result; the climax.

In the end, things fall apart, but it would succeed in generating a real character based conflict on the site.

I really like this plot...hope it's still on the table.

This sounds like a good idea. Sorry I'm a little late to the party; kinda scatter-brained and such, but it could be an interesting way to play it out. Sounds like a possibly long and semi permanent major change for the site.
