The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

Jorge
Jorge was still sitting there, slumped against the wall as he started at the fallen pieces of the creature in front of him. He barely registered that the armored looking man had said anything. He was too wrapped up with staring at the dead creature, trying to piece together what it was and what was going on. Nothing he did hurt that creature and it seemed so absolutely intent on killing him right then and there. It was running off a pure rage and anger, like nothing he had ever seen before. Whatever video game this was…it was rather disturbing.
“Sir? Were you infected? Are hallucinating anything?” the man asked again, keeping whatever that weapon was pointed at him. “Where did you come from?”
“I’m afraid, you wouldn’t understand,” Jorge said as he slowly moved onto his feet. He groaned as he rolled his shoulders, trying to loosen up the stiff muscles. He eyed the man who continued to look at him like he was a threat, the space-age gun pointed at him and unwavering. Carefully, to show that he was not going to be a threat to the man, he slid both the hammer and harpoon into his belt again. “Listen, um, thanks for the save, back there?”
The man seemed to regard him closely. Jorge was wondering if this was where the next fight was about to begin. After all, the last two levels have been nothing but fighting and killing whoever he came across. But for some reason this character was different. He was not other victim, he was a construct, but he was not automatically attacking him. Instead, it seemed more like whether or not he was deciding to continue helping him. Maybe Game Lord was in such a rush that he didn’t have time to create this construct with a mind for killing him. Maybe he was actually living out as he was written in the game…to save people…
“You should have better weapons,” the man said. “Those things don’t go down unless you remove the limbs. Here…” he reached behind his back and pulled out a similar weapon to the one that he already carried and handed it over. “ It’s a plasma cutter . Just make sure to aim for the joints.”
Jorge eyed the weapon, but nodded his thanks as he took it from him. Curiously he wondered exactly how this thing worked but, at the moment he didn’t care, so long as it did. He turned back to the man who eyed the shadowy hallways. It’s a shame the man was only a game construct. He definitely seemed like a good guy.
The man also turned to peer at Jorge through his elaborate helmet. Finally he turned back the halls. “You can come with me, or try to do this on your own. I need to find my wife and get off this ship.”
Jorge nodded. He might as well stick with an ally until he could find help. “Coincidence…I’m looking for a way out too.” Jorge said as he held the weapon like the man did and immediately was able to gather where the trigger was. “Name is Jorge.”
The man paused and glanced back to Jorge. After a second of regarding him, he nodeded. “Isaac.”

Jorge
Jorge was caught off guard for a second. He really did not know what this thing was that charged after him and as his mind tried to wrap around it, he found himself in mortal danger. The creature looked like some twisted corpse, reanimated with extra-limbs and absolutely no personality of what it formerly was. The detective could only gasp as he stared at it, it’s wild eyes, the bloody, scythe-like arms, everything about it just screamed terror. Whatever this thing was, it came from a very twisted and sick imagination.
This was what games were like these days? Jorge just could not bring himself to understand that.
But he was soon jarred out of his thoughts when he noticed the beast, merely inches from him and raising up its appendages to go on the attack. Jorge barely caught the movement in time to twist away, but still gasped and shouted as he felt the blade slash across his chest.
“Arggh!” Jorge gasped as he stumbled off to the side. But he didn’t get a chance to catch his breath. Quickly the monster was on the attack again.
Blood seeping down his shirt, Jorge struck at the beast with his hammer but he barely met with any results other than a piercing, angry cry from the creature. It lashed out with hits scythes, narrowing missing Jorge, all the while the putrid smell of it struck Jorge’s nose. He tried to keep from gagging as he struck at the creature again and again but it simply was not going down! He then resorted to pulled the harpoon blade from his belt but even a combination of both weapons did little to harm it. Not matter how much punishment it took, it kept coming.
Finally, starting to get tired, Jorge suddenly lashed out at the monster’s scythes with his own blade and struck it in such a way that he actually dismembered the appendage from the creature. At that it hissed and wailed and screamed as crimson poured from the wound. Immediately it struck out and knocked Jorge back against the wall, leaving him lying there, exhausted, as it loomed above him.
“Hiiissssssssssss!!!”[/b] it growled.
Jorge narrowed his eyes and kept his hand tightly around the blade as he waited for his opportunity. But just as he the creature readied another attack there was a suddenly sound, almost like a laser or something that cut through the air. The creature howled again and leaned back, screeching as the second appendage fell harmlessly to the ground, followed by its legs. The beast withered momentarily before falling completely still.
The detective raised his eyes in shock and awe…how did…
“You infected?”
Jorge blinked and looked up to spy another oddly dressed man standing in the hall. Who comes up with these characters?

Jorge
Jorge’s eyes narrowed as he looked down the hallway. So far there were no sounds of life; the whole hall was as quiet as a tomb. For the most part it was an eerie sensation because even though he heard nothing, he still had the feeling that he was being watched and he just couldn’t shake it. Slowly his hand reached into his belt where he pulled out the pixilated hammer he received from the first level and held it tightly in his hand. He did not know what this level was going to entail but he would be damned if he would allow himself to be caught off guard again.
Casually he twirled the hammer in hand and crept on. The smell of blood and death almost reminded him of the last level he was in but there was not of obvious, linear line for him to follow to the next level. Instead the hallways and doorways he passed all looked like they just led to other parts. He wondered if, for a second, Game Lord had finally created a level that would be too much of a challenge.
Despite the sobering thought, he did not stop. Instead he moved on, step by step, until a suddenly screech cut through the air.
Jorge spun…and saw nothing in the darkness of another empty hall. He could have sworn that sound, which reminded him of a blade scratching against metal, had come from there. Cautiously he raised his hammer and peered into the dark.
Thu-Thump! Thu-thump![/b]
His heard pounded in his ears as he strained his eyes, looking, searching the blackness for any source to that sound…
Scrrrrrrraaaaaaaatch![/b]
Thu-Thump! Thu-thump![/b]
His heart thudded faster, eyes straining to the point that he needed to blink but he refused to just in case he missed something. But, as the darkness reached around the edges of his eyes, Jorge found himself unable to stand it…and blinked.
“RRRAAAAWWWWWWRRRRRRR!!!!”[/b]
Jorge stiffened up as he raised his hammer, watching as a grotesque and terrifying creature ran straights towards him. It was almost as if Jorge had walked into Hell itself…

Jorge
Jorge stormed through the darkness. He was tired of the games, he was tired of these gladiatorial-esque shows that he was more than likely putting on for Game Lord. He wanted this to be over and the only way that he was going to do that was by pressing on and heading each challenge that was thrown at him. He was going to make his way to Game Lord and he would put that little punk behind bars himself, with a shock collar permanently attached to his neck.
But to do that he needed to win this game. Though he was sure that Game Lord could just keep putting up constructs and throwing him into different games, Jorge believed that the longer and faster he kept punching through these constructs, the more scared and confused he would make that villain. After all, not even Game Lord could keep this up forever.
Jorge, on the other hand, had enough fire in his belly to keep going; and keep going he would. He would conquer every level until that one second where Game Lord slipped up.
With that in mind, Jorge stormed through the dark until finally his senses were met with the next scenario. Like before, it was dark, dank, but instead of the feel the cool night air, Jorge felt just a little claustrophobic. He tilted his head as the scent of blood flew across his nose and sounds of his own footsteps on metal rang out all around him. He already was not liking this.
The metal walls reminded him almost of something like a submarine or battleship, but the design was a little futuristic. Putting those thoughts in mind, Jorge sighed…this had to be a space ship or something then. He continued on but paused when he noticed several smears of red across the ground. It was not hard to put together what he was looking at…blood. Jorge had a feeling that whatever he was in now, the violence just escalated.

Jorge
The kiss was the perfect way to absolutely seal the evening. Jorge sighed as he felt her pressing against him, his arms wrapping around her to hold her close. He was kissing his fiancée! His FIANCEE! Never had Jorge every thought that he would reach such a stage in his life where he would be getting engaged to someone. This was a completely twist of fate but it was a good one because Jorge could not be more pleased with it. He loved Gemma greatly and he was only all too excited to be sharing the rest of his life with her in it.
Foreheads touching, he smirked, still trying to wrap his head around the fact that this woman had just agreed to marry him. This woman who was not only his best friend, but a woman he loved and respected above all else. He was truly most happy in this moment.
>> "Oh, in that case, lucky I am so easily swayed."
He laughed as heartily, all the tension gone from his body left him a lot more lighthearted. He really did not know what her response was going to be but he was more than happy that it was “yes”. Though more than likely he would have attempted to serenade her again…
Gemma looked giggly as she her thoughts began to truly form into what had happened this evening, at least that is what Jorge guessed. He was pretty much thinking the same thing, trying to wrap his head around this true life changer that he had just gone through. He was going to be a married man, with a family of his own! It was a huge step, but it was a step that, deep down, Jorge knew that he was ready to make.
>> "So...We... are getting married…and nothing has attacked us yet. I'd say that is a good sign. Hm?"
He grinned as he nodded.
“I think it’s a damn good sign,” he beamed as he leaned over and began to kiss her again. While he did so, he glanced out of the corner of his eye to the area around the fountain and waved his arm in a “cancel” gesture. Immediately several S.W.A.T. team members popped up from out of hiding, gave him their thumbs up and waves before they all moved out, their job now officially over for the evening. Jorge figured that there was no harm in being cautious. A grin appeared on his face if Gemma caught that, and he wrapped his arms tight around her and lifted her up, kissing her softly. This was the beginning of something fantastic…

Jorge
Jorge waited with bated breath. He knew that he loved Gemma and that she loved him in return but he really did not know what her feelings would be on this matter. Maybe she wanted to keep things as they were? After all, she had been married before and it ended with divorce. Jorge couldn’t blame her if she had said no, but at the same time it would have been so unfortunate because his actions could have the potential of ruining their relationship. It would be one of those things that neither of them would ever be able to forget and would hang over their heads for eons after.
He didn’t want things ruined with Gemma. But it was a question that he just had to ask and, hoped, that she had a positive answer for.
Kneeling though, looking up at her sweet face, for a millisecond he could not read her expression as he presented her with the ring. And in that millisecond he had absolute doubt; she was going to say no. But, after she removed her hands from her shocked lips, they stretched into a wide and luminescent smile that made Jorge’s heart begin to soar. The twinkle in her eyes, her hands reaching down to touch his, and Jorge already felt like he had his answer.
But the words coming from her own lips were far sweeter…
>> "Yes…Definitely yes."
He laughed a little at the tone of her voice. It was that voice of no arguing. Jorge knew right then and there that he was in for it that there would be no backing out (not that he wanted to). The nerves washing out of his body, the detective beamed brightly as he held her very carefully removed the ring from its box and slid it onto her slender finger.
That done, he held her hand as he stood up, watching her eyes and unable to stop from smiling. She had literally just made him the happiest man right now…
Still chuckling, the man grinned as he wrapped his arms around Gemma’s waist and pulled her close. His forehead touching her’s, he sighed in relief, smile wide. Leaning forward he kissed her softly, tenderly, almost like the first time that they had ever kissed. In a way, maybe it was. This was the first kiss to a new aspect of their lives. When he finally pulled his lips away from hers, he found himself far more relaxed than he had been the whole evening.
“Had me worried for a second there,” he smirked. “Glad you said yes, otherwise my Plan B was that I would serenade you again.”

>> "Yes? What is it?"
Jorge watched her eyes for a moment, lost in his own thoughts as he tried to figure out the perfect way to start what he wanted to say. He thought that maybe he should have written things down first, but that would have come off as just too rehearsed. No, he had made the vow that he was going to speak from the heart on this manner but what could he exactly say? So many thoughts jumbled around inside of his head that it was hard to just pick out one to go with. But, in the end, he knew that he was going to have to just trust his instincts. He loved this woman, that was all that mattered.
He lowered his gaze a little as he tried to find his voice. It was funny that after everything he had gone through in his life, all the countless situations he found himself in, that this would be the moment that he would lose his voice. He had no problem talking down terrified people or bantering with thugs, but this moment turned out to actually be the hardest for him to say anything.
Casually he cleared his throat as one of his hand slipped up and unbutton his coat. He wanted to make sure that he could slip his hand in and produce the box as soon as the moment came. With his coat open, he took a breath, one last look at the water fountain and fully turned to face her.
“Two years, we’ve been dating,” he said. It was funny. It was as if the second he opened his mouth to talk, suddenly all the fear flew out of him. A calmness washed over him as he looked at her smiling face. “And…they’ve been the happiest two years of my life. We’ve gone through a lot together, some of it good, others terrifying, but they are experiences that I would never change for the world.”
He spoke honestly and truly as he tried to keep from smiling like a fool the whole time. But just thinking back over their short history together and he couldn’t help himself. No other woman could have done half the things that they did together, kept a relationship alive over all the terrors that come from both hers and his respective jobs. It was scary to change that relationship but Jorge was more than willing to take that chance with her.
Why? Because she was worth it.
“And, well,” he started to say as he reached into his inside pocket. “I would like to make as many experiences with you and Chase and Valerie and Laurent in my life as possible.” Breath taken to steel himself up, Jorge pulled the black felt box from his coat and slowly moved down onto one knee. A gesture and the box opened to reveal the same diamond ring that he had shown to Chase before when he asked his permission. The ground was cold on his knee, but Jorge didn’t notice it as he looked up at Gemma’s expression, hoping for some clue as to how she felt so far. “Gemma Taylor, will you grant me the great honor of marrying me?”

Jorge
>> "A walk sounds good"
He smiled and nodded as he gently took her hand and stood with her. People were still milling around but a wave and smile to them and Jorge led Gemma out of the space. The people there were extremely nice and happy, all in love or embracing the notion of romance in the evening. It really was rather infectious and, as sad as it was to leave all of it behind and call that part of their evening over, Jorge was ready for the next and final phase.
One looked at Gemma and she seemed to be utterly happy and content with the evening thus far. Hopefully his proposal would not ruin it.
>> "We need to do this more often…And I will need to bring Chase here at some point. I am sure he would love the gardens."
He chuckled and nodded as he thought about Chase running around the gardens. The assumption was actually a fair one, this definitely seemed like a place that Chase would enjoy. It was quiet, the scenery was peaceful and beautiful, for some reason the notion of Chase being here just fit.
“Maybe we can both bring him one day,” he said with smile. “You know, for an outing, lunch maybe?”
The idle talk was good. It soothed his nerves a little as he strolled through the garden, passing a variety of exotic and sweet smell flowers. The fragrance made him turn to Gemma, watching her as they walked under the moonlight. He could feel it rising in his chest, the nerve that slowly began to steel itself up. As continued on, the sounds of rushing water could be heard and he looked up to see that they were passing a rather elegant looking fountain.
The sound of the water, the smell of it in the air, it was all rather calming. Leaning against the railing that surrounded the found, Jorge sighed as he cast a glance to Gemma. When he finally caught her eye, he smiled.
“Uhh…Gemma,” he started to say. Nervously he scratched the back of his head. “I…need to…talk to you…”

Jorge
The show went on in silence, both Jorge and Gemma basking in the warm glow of paper lanterns over head and the words and lyrics of presenters who stepped onto the stage. They weaved a tapestry of romance among everyone there and Jorge definitely fell victim to it. His song to Gemma, the look on her face when he was done, it was all going off swimmingly and the detective could not be more pleased with that. He wanted the perfect for this woman, so that he could steel himself up and get the nerve to ask her what he had been wanting to ask her all evening.
Nerves still wracked throughout his body but it was not something that was going to stop him or cause him to change his mind. He was going through with this, he just needed the best and most private moment. He was never one for flashy, public proposals. In his mind, they should be something private, a moment in time that those people can share with each other the rest of their lives.
So as the night wound on, he waited, distracting himself with the comfortable silence and feeling this woman rest so comfortably against him. It felt so absolutely natural that Jorge really could not have imagined anyone else in her position.
To the hopeless romantic of a detective, it felt like fate.
Jerry had come onto the stage again, after the last presenter, and bid everyone had a lovely night. It was sad to see this come to an end, but it was bound to happen. In that moment though, he felt his heart race. He knew that time was quickly approaching. With that in mind, he smiled as he leaned over and kissed Gemma’s cheek.
“Love?” he asked, making sure that she was still awake. “They’re gathering their stuff. Come on, let’s go for a walk, the garden smells nice tonight…”
His hand rested on his coat pocket for a moment. The box was still there…now to just get her alone…

Jorge
The food came and it was a welcome break from the conversations that he and chase were having at the moment. Not that Jorge did not want to talk anymore about it, but he wanted there to be a little bit of time so that Chase could really let the words sink in. They were going to be a family and Jorge wanted to make absolute sure that Chase was okay with that. But as they looked down at their food, Jorge had to note that Chase did seem rather happy about the idea. He was not sure if the boy was actually thinking it over or if he had already moved on.
Hah…the mind of youth, always so quick to move on to other things. Jorge really missed having that type of mentality, to move on to various other things. That, sadly, was a problem with being an adult, it was so easy to think about one thing over and over and over again. Just like he was now, concerning proposing to Gemma. He had the ring, he had the boy’s permission, and now he had had to plan the perfect evening.
God, those thoughts were going to plague him day and night until it was time for the big show. He hoped that he could plan something nice.
But, for now, he turned his attention to the food in front of him. Indeed the mac-and-cheese looked quite delectable, much better than anything that ever came from the box. He would have to try to make this type of meal at home, if only because it was something that Chase enjoyed. Even the fruit was good and tasted fresh! All in all, it was a pretty damn good meal.
Then, as he took a sip from his drink, Chase looked up at him with inquiring eyes…
>> “When are you going to ask?”[/color]
“Hmm, you know I don’t know Chase. More than likely soon. I have to plan things to make it special,” he replied. And if he wanted to make it especially special then he needed to make sure that he thought of the perfect evening. “But I’ll let you know in plenty of time.”

Jorge
Jorge was searching her eyes, to make sure that everything was okay. Maybe he really should not have called her out like that but he thought it was romantic and sweet. Maybe she was embarrassed? That was obviously the last thing he wanted to do tonight, but as he stood back and waited for her to response, he smirked wide as she stood up, wrapped her arms around him and kissed his cheek. It was such a sweet gesture that Jorge allowed himself to relax a bit more.
He was thankful, again, that he did not mess things up. But he was tired of saying that to himself! His nerves were working over time because the pieces were all falling into place. That ring, the one in the box inside of his pocket, it was feeling so very, very heavy now.
>> "It was great. I mean, not bad at all…Thank you Jorge."
"I'm glad you liked it. Honestly, I thought I was going to mess up," he smirked.
He grinned liken a fool as he kissed her back in response. There was just something about this woman that brought out all the romance in him. Maybe it was from years of watching classic movies, reading classic books and such that brought it about, but Gemma was the one that actually forced him to tap into it. And that was a gift that he could never thank her enough for.
"Come on, let's enjoy the rest of the show," he whispered, not wanting to talk over the soft spoken poet on stage. "I promise I won't make you blush again."
A kiss on her cheek again and Jorge returned her to the bench where they could both just lean back and listen to the rest of the poetry and music as it swirled about them. The proposal was next but he’d give her a bit to relax, at least until the League’s show was over so that the two of them could find a calm place again.

>> "Oh, yes... He is a very sweet man, he recently joined the Xmen…I met him years ago... He took me to my first ever fourth of July fireworks show as a birthday present."
She blushed! Now that was completely adorable. The detective could only smirk as he turned his attention back to surveying the rest of the park while Andrea explained her relationship. He was really surprised about to hear that her boyfriend was an X-Man. Ironic too since Jorge was also a member of the team. Though, he had not met all the members, he wondered if maybe he had run into his man before.
At least so far he sounded like a nice guy. Jorge would have to check around the X-Men team and see which one of them could possibly be dating his nice friend here…
>> "I recently moved back to the Mansion, that school for mutants... and he took me out on a.. a date…It is my very first relationship... It is... strange, yet very exciting."
He arched a brow. Back to the mansion? The same mansion that he inhabited half the time and visited more often than not? He was practically living there these days so how could he not have seen Andrea wandering around the halls? Well it was not like Jorge taught classes our actively roamed around, looking at every single student he passed. More than like they were on separate schedules and he was just missing her, but still. This was actually a pretty shocking revelation.
>> "He is the kindest, sweetest, silliest man I have ever met...I have never been so happy, as I am now."
The look on her face was enough to prove to him that she was indeed deliriously happy. It was an unmistakable expression and one that was good to see on her.
“Well you certainly sound like you are happy,” he grinned. “I’m glad to hear that.” he said as he plucked out another pair of cookies and offered one to Andrea. “You know…it’s funny. I actually visit the Mansion quite a lot. The guidance counselor there is the woman I told you about, who I am dating. I’m surprised I didn’t run into you sooner,” he said with a smile. It was still hard to wrap his mind around that the girl was going there, in the same school that not only he was at but also where Gina lived. Odd coincidences…

>> "I.. I don't know. I would hate to rob you of a ticket for something like that… and I do not know if Saphirus even likes playing games. We have not had much time to get out and do things."
So she DID have a boyfriend! He smirked a little at that. He really was not surprised. She was a very sweet girl and pretty girl so it was only natural that someone would eventually get her attention. He hoped that whoever this Saphirus was, that he was a nice guy. She deserved a nice guy, especially after everything that she had gone through.
>> "... I suppose if you are certain, if would not hurt to try.."
He nodded as he handed the ticket over to her. He was quite sure that she would have a better time with Saphirus in a place like that then Jorge would. After all, it was a young person’s world. Jorge would much rather just get a quiet moment at home to read on his classic books or listening to his cassette tapes. Video games and such never really held his fascination. Then again, maybe that would be something that Chase would like to do. But…that was a discussion for another day.
For now, waited until she took the ticket from his hand and smiled.
“Don’t fret. You’re not robbing me,” he said in an amused manner. “I’m giving it to you. One friend to another. Take out your boyfriend, I’m sure he’ll probably enjoy it. At most you two will get a good laugh out of seeing each other play Whack-a-Mole or something.”
The idea was cute to imagine, Andrea and whoever this person was, standing in the middle of some huge arcade, either trying to decide which to play first or having no idea what to do. Andrea was sweet but from the look of her, he doubted she had any experience with such a place before. Still…it could be good for her to get out and experience a fun culture like that.
But…the detective had to smirk as he nudged her gently with his elbow.
“So…boyfriend huh?” he smirked. He wasn’t the type to pry but it was just too good to pass up. “Saphirus sounds like an interesting name. He a good guy?”
