The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

Pen couldn’t keep herself from chuckling at Remy’s fairly witty banter, smirking playfully before she was pulled in tightly against the alluring woman. Dammit she was intoxicating, disorienting and yet so very, very fun to be around. Sure, she might have just planned on letting things simmer between them, judging from her actions, but as she began to kiss and nibble along her neck, it was clear that she was one hell of a cook so to speak, knowing how to stoke fires Pen very rarely got to experience. A drawn out, pleased exhale escaped her before she looked into Remy’s eyes, then at the drink offered, her lips parting in a broad smile.
“Mh..one thing at least..” she then sipped from the glass, taking her sweet time as she kept eye contact, wanting the little gesture to be as enticing as possible, even if she had no real idea what she was doing. In truth, all this was very new, as Pen wasn’t used to forward women like Remy, which honestly only made it more exciting. “Dangerously smooth? You sure you’re talking about the drink?” Pen remarked after Remy’s last comment. Yeah nah, this was a whole other playing field than what Pen was used to, and it left her feeling almost intoxicated.
At the question of where they should go when Pen was done with her gig, Pen looked a bit more thoughtful, then surprise overtook her features at the mention of the Ritz. Well, either she was kidding, assumed Pen had a ton of money or she herself was really well off. She did however, like the second option. “Mh..oh I’ll be thinking real hard about it beautiful..as for where, The Hard Rock do sound like a nice spot, even if a bit on the nose.” She chuckled with a wink before caressing Remy’s cheek, grinning. “And very willing huh? Seems we’re going to have a lot of fun soon enough”

Oooh damn...this woman..hell if she wasn’t something else, something very, very good. In a lot of ways, Remy was a lot like a shot of whiskey, Pen thought to herself. Intense, smoking hot, and lighting a fire inside her. Pen hadn’t even noticed that she was grinning from ear to ear as she looked into Remy’s eyes as the woman spoke and flirted. Yeah, those hands knew what they were doing, and her words left little doubt of her interest in Pen as well, which was appreciated, much easier to work with someone being that direct and straightforward. Pen couldn’t help it as she tilted her head a little to one side, her eyes never leaving Remy as she smirked, her response to her flirting words said with as much of a playful purr to them as Remy’s.
“I guess I’ll have to take you up on that then, Remy..after all, seems to be you can be quite enthusiastic after all.” she then let out a little chuckle as she leaned in, fingers brushing against Remy’s neck, taking in the shape, the softness of her skin, a playful gesture, and a repayment of Remy’s own wandering hands. Closer and closer Pen leaned, almost seeming about to kiss Remy, and fully intending to give that impression, Pen then brushed her lips against Remy’s cheek, then ear, once more purring out her words to the other woman. “And well..seeing as that’s what you like, it’d be remiss of me to not stay on top tonight.”
Oh, this was fun, very, very fun. Pen hadn’t had such a good time in a long while, even with her heart beating a hundred miles per hour, finding a playful confidence she didn’t even know she had within her, she was having a great time. She couldn’t be quite sure if Remy had meant to word her last compliment the way it had sounded to Pen, but the intonation had given Pen an inkling of what Remy truly preferred, and if that was true, hoo boy was Pen in for a great night.

As the woman spoke, Pen couldn't help but grin more and more. Not only was she flirty, playful and beautiful, she was also direct and funny, yeah Remy was certainly an eye catcher as well as the most interesting person in here beside Pen herself. Pen appreciated her playful and flirty banter, it was a nice change in a way, to see such power and confidence to the usually meek but cute groupies who'd come knocking after the shows. Not that Pen minded in the least, meek and inexperienced wasn't bad, but when half the time you was essentially an experiment of self discovery or they were colored by star struck-ness, meeting someone like this was a refreshing change of pace.
"Admires can't be all bad though." Pen pointed out with a playful smirk as she rested one hand on Remy's shoulder, the other on her lower back as she gazed into her eyes. "After all, you're doing plenty admiring and so am I..frankly, I'm surprised I didn't spot you sooner actually.." She continued, ending in a playful, almost purring tone as her smirk grew into a broad grin. As Remy started to talk about what she'd like to do, Pen couldn't help but chuckle a little. Yup, she was certainly direct, but she was being both flirty and cocky about it, as well as a bit humorous. It was nice really, to know exactly what sort of thing Remy was interested in, as it didn't leave much room for Pen to misunderstand signals.
Then came the gun. An actual gun. Pen was..mildly surprised by the fact that Remy was armed, but then again, in these days and times, perhaps it wasn't too surprising. It didn't really scare Pen off anyway, seeing as it was clear that Remy wasn't some gun happy nut, or the guy who got uppercutted had been dead. Besides, if she had nasty plans with it, she wouldn't have just straight up told Pen, now would she? regardless, Pen nodded a bit, smiling once more up at Remy. "Well, don't go waving it about and think it's gonna be golden, beautiful. Though, show ain't starting right away, so we got some time.." Pen pointed out, attempting to get back into the former mood of playful banter.
oh no, that flex wasn't fair at all, Pen could almost hear the fabric of the jacket stretch as Remy flexed. Pen smiled a little as she got Remy's name, that accent doing nothing to lessen Pen's heartrate as the smile turned broader while looking at the woman before her. Her praise was appreciated, making Pen chuckle like an idiot in her own opinion before clearing her throat, nodding some as she still smiled. "Well, that's all right. If I can get a new soul interested in the scene, then I'm doing my part." she responded with a wink. "And thank you. I'll be honest though, the real boon of being this good at shredding and playing is that I've gotten real nimble fingers over the years, and they really won't tire easily either." she noted with a much more sly expression before blinking as Remy made her offer.
"Oh my.." she paused, looking over the amazing view before her. those toned thighs, that frame, her arms, those damn, enticing, amber eyes of hers, she really made that look like a very, very lovely offer. Fucking hell this woman was not playing fair in the freaking least.. "Well damn Remy, when you put it like that, that other seat really do look fairly boring." She responded as she stepped closer, moving to seat herself in Remy's lap, facing her with a broad grin on her face. This evening just got a whole ton better than it was before, and frankly, Pen was excited to see where all this was going.
Jeez he was confident. Well, even so, he did seem to be on the level, even if he was on the arrogant side. Carrick was rough around the edges, but he seemed ready to rock and that was the most important thing. Pen smirked a bit at his quip about buying the first round. "Sure, first round is on me Carrick." she said with a nod. "It's just me currently, Ron's a frequent that different bands hire from the place itself. So, him and you are both in the same boat I suppose. I'm currently working under the name Feuerschrei. Also, by all means, back up and end it with a bang. You seem to have a flair for the dramatic, so go ahead" she added, grinning a bit.
She then gestured for Carrick to follow her. "That was the full list, don't think we have much in the way of time for changes. So let's get crazy with what we got, rock and roll and give them one hell of a show." Pen then grabbed her guitar, doing a bit of last bit tuning as she grinned to herself. This was the part she loved, the build up before unleashing everything on the stage, getting everything just right, like a storm building, the tension growing before exploding with sheer power and volume. It was a good mix tonight, several songs from bands like Rammstein, Disturbed and Iron Maiden. Lots of power, lots of raw energy, just the right stuff. Carrick would have plenty chances to show off and help give a show the crowd would remember. That really, was always Pen's goal, give it her best, her earnest and have a good time.
After all, if you didn't enjoy what you did for a living, how could others? No, she was fortunate she could follow her passions like this, forge a life. Elias wouldn't be very happy if she hadn't and frankly, neither would she. She looked to Ron and Carrick, smirking a little. "Ready?"
There is some things you don't really think about, things you don't realize you didn't think you'd ever see, until you see them and is simultaneously proven wrong, as you are in fact seeing it right before your eyes. And for Pen, watching a polar bear grab a piece of chalk and delicately write on a chalkboard with it was definitely on that list. Yet here we were as Aoi presented herself, impressing Pen with both how much delicate and dexterous work she was capable of doing as a freaking polar bear as well as the task itself of communicating through writing.
Pen then read the message, shaking her head some as she smiled. "Nah, I ain't afraid, you don't seem the harmful type. I mean, you're talking with me through a chalkboard at the moment, that doesn't exactly scream bloodthirsty monster I don't think. I'm Pen, nice to meet you." She greeted with a broad smile. "I'd shake your hand but, well, paw, you know." she chuckled, scratching the back of her head before looking around, as well as checking up on the people in the car near them. Thankfully no one was hurt, and so, her attention returned to Aoi as she smiled again. "So, you need some help carrying some of this back to your room or something? People might chill a bit when they see us walking together...maybe." Pen suggested, shrugging a little as she looked at the Polar bear in front of her, a somewhat excited expression on her face. This all was still so really, really cool.
Tonight was a pretty good night in Pen's opinion. She had gotten a gig at a pretty good place, paid well, right sort of crowd, bit rough, bit tumble, fun people, and, of course, leather and metal far as the eye could see. And so, Pen had been playing for a few hours at this point, currently getting the blood pumping and the crowd rocking with her cover of Immortalized by one of the heavier hitting bands named Disturbed. Thankfully, the place own music staff knew the song, meaning Pen could put in the proper energy the song required. Pen was rocking combat boots, jeans, her leather jacket and black top tonight, and she was in the zone, fuck she loved this, just, her, the music and the song, getting some of that hard hitting energy out into the room and having a good time. Little did she know that what was going to seem like quite the promise of an even better time had just entered and was beelining for the bar.
As it turned out, something out in the universe aligned itself, enabling Pen to provide a soundtrack to the incredible physical display unfolding at the bar, as unwanted perversion took a hit from the steely, sexy fist of rightful fury and the lech took a dive before the hard hitting amazon at the bar. The frankly impressive punch was accompanied from start of the trajectory of the rightful fist and the end of his interrupted half assed apology to the point the lech feet no longer touched the floor with Pen's lyrics of "Oh! So heed the call of confrontation, today we feed on domination! Secure a legacy, that will never die, be immortalized!" as Pen watched the man fly. She had no idea why it had happened, but the fact this woman made a dude fly with a punch was more than enough reason for her to talk with her when she got the chance, and hell, if it hadn't, that flaming red hair sure was. It would seem that tonight was going to be a real, real interesting one.
Thankfully, this was the last song before her break, and the moment Pen was done with the song, she put the guitar against a nearby chair and stepped down from the stage, taking a long drag of a water bottle before discarding it, adjusting her hair and glasses, then approaching the bar. "Well shit, you know how to pack a punch. Good to see someone is really living by the spirit of metal. friends call me Pen, mind if I have a seat?" she asked, smiling some at the woman. Oh dammit, now that she got to see her up close, Pen was noticing her build already, that hair, the air about her, she was a real tough looking gal, and frankly, that was right the hell up Pen's alley.

Sometimes, you expected a quiet night out, a stroll, enjoying the evening air and the buzz of a city that never slept. And then again, what you expected was very, very rarely what you actually got, which most certainly seemed like the case tonight. It had started with a street performer doing fire tricks in a park. That in and of itself was fine, but dressed as the tin man from Wizard of Oz? Now that had been unexpected. Then had been the argument some older gentleman was having with his elderly Pomeranian, both sitting on a bench. Much to Pen's surprise, with the timing of the barks the dog was making, it genuinely did look like an actual argument, which, frankly, was really, really funny to watch for a moment before she made her way out of the park and down the street.
Then, things had taken a turn for the more unusual, as well as more exciting. People running in the opposite direction. That was how it had started, and how it usually started when something bigger was afoot. This usually either involved some villain or other, a hero dealing with something or said villain, or in rarer cases, a straight up super brawl. Either way, Pen was both curious and a little worried, and thus headed towards whatever people was running from. Then came the yells and shouts about a polar bear, and honestly, this only got Pen more curious. The hell was a polar bear during on the streets of the Big Apple? Escaped a zoo? some villain's newest invention? laser shooting Polar bear maybe? Regardless, Pen continued onwards, looking around with curiosity, scouting for the Polar bear causing all the fuss.
And that was when she saw it, a actual freaking polar bear, with all sorts of items chained to it, for whatever reason, crossing a road. And then there was the car, because of course. Pen cursed to herself as she hurried towards the soon to be car crash, cursing the fact she didn't have her suit with her. However, what happened next, wasn't just incredible and lucky, it looked cool as fuck. Pen's eyes widened as the Polar bear made it across the car, and as it roared she cheered as well. "God damn that was SO cool!" she yelled, grinning before noticing the sign around the polar bear's neck, approaching the animal with curiosity to read it. Oh. ooooh. Oooooooooh that made more sense.
A mutant, of course it was a mutant. That explained both the surprising agility, as well as all the stuff chained to the ursine form. Pen approached, raising a hand to wave in greeting. "Uhm, hey, is everyone okay? You doing okay there?" she asked, looking first to the car and bear, before turning her attention to the Polar bear in particular, visually checking if it had gotten hurt, which didn't see to be the case at least. Thankfully, Pen had no idea how she'd help a freaking Polar bear if it was hurt anyway. Mutant. mutant polar bear? Whatever, this was not how she had expected her night to pan out, but honestly, she didn't mind at all, this was so cool.

Pen glanced at her phone, checking the time for the 60th time. Fucking hell, he was late at this point. Pen cursed inwardly, a deep frown on her face as she adjusted her large, green glasses, she hated working with new people. The first few times was always the worst, you never knew how the chemistry was, how you worked off of each other, if you had the right sound. Sure, you could hire anyone for backup sound, but you never really knew until you had a chance to play. That was why she liked doing a bit of practice before the event itself, but, with time being what it was, hell, they'd barely have time for that. Where was he even? The other guy, a stable player for the place was already here after all. "I fucking swear if he has stood me up.." she grumbled to herself, fiddling with her guitar.
This, was about the time where she heard the beat of wings above and she turned, blinking as she saw the winged guy landing near them. Well damn, a mutant, that was a surprise. A pleasant one, but a surprise all the same. The fact he could fly actually annoyed Pen a little, as it either meant he could have made it on time but didn't, or he couldn't and flying was the fastest way to get here. One certainly painted a more favorable picture than the other. As he spoke, she blinked, well he certainly wasn't lacking in confidence, this Mr. O'Conner.
"Oh, you are. I almost thought we'd be one down for this gig." Pen answered as she looked at Carrick, a hint of a frown on her face for a moment. "Well Mister O'Conner, we got drums and I'll be singing, so we'll be needing your string-work tonight. I'm Penelope, but just call me Pen." she couldn't help smirking a little though, as his suave circus clown act was a little amusing. "We can look into those card tricks if you decide to stay around after the gig."
Pen then turned her head, looking to the drummer, who gave a thumbs up, heading inside. "You got the songs right? We'll be doing covers, so nothing totally crazy, though I still plan to rock this joint tonight" she announced, grinning from ear to ear with a sly glint in her eyes. Sure, tonight wasn't the night to play some of her own songs, but that didn't matter, it was about getting a foot inside and a more stable platform to get going from. She was ambitious, Pen would never deny that, and just perhaps, Carrick here had the sort of energy to match hers on stage and really make this a night for their audience to remember.

Individual
Character's full name: Penelope Gildemeister Alias/ Nickname/ Code name: Exstatic Gender: Female Age: 22 Date of Birth: September/19/1999 Birthplace/ Home/ Place of origin: New York City Nationality: German-American Ethnicity/ Cultural Heritage: German
Appearance
Hair color and style: Blonde, a chaotic, spiky mess. Skin Tone: Caucasian Eye Color: Vibrant, Jade Green Height: 5 feet Build: Slim and lean Visible mutation: N/A Scars/ Tattoos/ Piercings: A tattoo of a skull wearing headphones, beneath it a blue shard of ice cracking up and breaking apart located on her left shoulder. A bar piercing in the corner of of her right eyebrow as well as one through the top of her right ear, and a normal orb earring in her right earlobe.
Other features:Large, round, usually green tinted glasses.
Everyday clothing style: Penelope prefers greens and blacks, with the occasional blues, wearing jeans, sneakers and green hoodies with black shirts beneath, or going for sleeveless black or green shirts when the mood strikes her. Sometimes, depending on her mood, she may wear all sorts of dingle dangles around her wrists in the form of a variety of wristbands and the like.
Uniform: A set of armor designed to both protect her against impact, friction and collision, thus enabling her to safely move at speeds above 100 mph, as well as offering a higher chance of surviving worst case scenarios, inspired by the concepts already available to everyday people. And as a bonus in her opinion, it looks cool. It consists of a pair of sci-fi looking green boots that goes up into the black suit she wears beneath her body armor, consisting of knee pads and elbow protectors, along with a chest piece in varying tones of green, her gloves equally armored, borderline gauntlets even, without loosing the sleek aesthetic that Penelope went for. On her head she wears a helmet with a green visor, obscuring her features and hiding her hair, while keeping the lower part of her face free.
Sleepwear: Penelope usually sleeps in a t-shirt and panties.
Miscellaneous clothing: When she do decide to exercise, one can see Penelope in a less than fashionable tracksuit, usually the dullest, ugliest gray one can imagine, hood wrapped tightly around her head.
Character
Personality: Penelope is a young woman of emotion and logic, heart and mind often struggling against one another. She is impulsive and greedy, arrogant and easily excitable. She is very bad at wording her emotions outside of her Exstatic persona, coming off as standoffish and prideful. However, there is also kindness and love in her heart, and Penelope refuses to harm innocents and will go out of her way to save them, even at the cost of personal gain. She is likewise kind towards animals, in particular strays. Penelope falls for others easily, though it is often a very superficial affection that soon blows over. Penelope loves to mock and gloat, often going out of her way to do so towards an opponent she feels she is superior to, even in situations where it would be wiser to simply finish the fight or make her escape. Penelope is also easily distracted, be it by her thirst for knowledge, a new fascination or simply something or someone very cool, it doesn’t always take that much to distract her. While she enjoys her music, she also enjoys personal wealth, but ironically has little patience towards others arrogance and outright loathes unnecessary cruelty. She’s in the villain game for the money, not the evil or world domination.
Hobbies/ Interests: Rock and Metal music (she plays the guitar), Stray animals, women, non-profit aid of the less fortunate.
Job or part time job and description: Supervillan, Aspiring musician.
Fears/ phobias/ concerns: Penelope fears detainment as a result of her criminal lifestyle, as well as the prospect of someone innocent getting seriously hurt during her criminal escapades. She’s concerned what will happen to Mumbles, her cat, should she get incarcerated. Penelope both yearns and fears the concept of a serious relationship.
Special talents: She is an accomplished guitarist. Penelope is knowledgeable in the field of nanofibres and polymers thanks to Elias education, in order to enable her to repair and maintain her suit should he no longer be able. She is somewhat above average knowledge of physics, specifically regarding objects movement and velocity and their interactions (Knowledge she felt necessary regarding her powers). Besides English, she also speaks German.
Morality
Good/ bad/ neutral/ other: Bad in a good way. Penelope is by all definitions a supervillain, having no qualms with breaking the law in her search for personal financial enrichment, but she isn’t out to hurt anyone or take over the world.
Feelings toward Humans: Humans are people like Penelope herself, but so very fragile. They pose little threat but Pen knows she has to be careful not to hurt anyone who doesn’t deserve it.
Feelings toward Adapteds: Frankly, Penelope finds the concept of someone who can simply turn her powers off terrifying as all hell. Should she ever run into one she’d run the opposite direction fast as she could.
Feelings toward Mystics: It’s like mutant powers, but different, right? There’s rules and laws and not everyone can do the same thing, right? It’s not something Pen understands, but other than that, they’re people like everyone else, right? She’d love to learn from them, having a lil magic could be real useful.
Mutations
Mutation description: Penelope’s main power is superhuman speed. She is currently capable, when straining herself to maximum capacity when moving, of reaching Mach 1 (around 761 mph) over the course of ten seconds. Like her body, Penelope’s brain works at incredible speeds as well, allowing her to perceive things clearly while running, meaning that despite moving at speeds far beyond the capabilities of a normal human, Penelope can perceive the world around her just as clearly as if she was taking a stroll. She is roughly capable of keeping her max speed continuously for 13-15 seconds if she is running on a “full tank” so to speak, but of course, knowing the dangers reaching such speeds poses to her and her surroundings, she rarely moves that fast. Part of the consequences of pushing herself to those limits, both duration and speed, is total collapse and very likely unconsciousness, which depending on her current location at the time of collapse can pose very immediate, and very dangerous problems. Pushing herself to the limits tires her out while burning the calories saved up during her large meals, and she starts making mistakes and becoming less coordinated as exhaustion sets in. As mentioned previously, in moving at such speeds, Penelope burns calories at a much higher rate, requiring a greater supply to replace them.
When not pushing her absolute limits, Penelope’s preferred speeds lays around 382 mph, which if she has eaten a meal containing the caloric equivalent of a meal meant for four people (roughly 2800 calories), she can keep for about roughly an hour of uninterrupted running, at which point she’d have to seek some source of calorie intake to replenish her reserves immediately or risk loosing consciousness. For long distance running, about 120 mph is her preferred speed. If Pen runs at an average person’s jogging speeds she can keep going roughly a day on about two and a half of her “normal meals”, though the likelihood of her being bored out of her mind long before that is extremely high.
Strengths: Super speed-related feats: Penelope can cover huge distances in a very short time, as well as react in situations and to things far beyond the capabilities of a human. The speed by which she can move allows her to perform incredible feats such as running across bodies of water. Through physics and speed, Penelope is capable of creating shockwaves through punch-generated sonic booms powerful enough to shatter brick walls and crack concrete. Though the high danger both to her hearing, with a great certainty of being blown from the volume of the boom if not protected, as well as the likelihood of the force ranging from shattering the bones in her arm at the very least, to a much more lethal outcome, to the very real possibility of the force throwing her in the opposite direction of the boom itself, which in and of itself poses a plethora of dangers depending on what’s in her way when thrown, is more than enough cause for Penelope to only use said punch as a very, very last resort.
Weaknesses and Limitations: To maintain the high level at which her body works, Penelope needs a very high intake of calories, a single meal usually containing the caloric equivalent of a meal meant for four people ( as prior mentioned roughly 2800 calories), meaning that she has to eat a lot and often, about five times a day, in order to avoid “burning out”, at which point she slows down, turning sluggish and drowsy. Should she insist on using her powers at this point, her body will start burning any available “fuel” such as muscle mass while also rendering her a lot less coordinated while using her super speed, which also slows down to shorter 10 second bursts at 40 mph at most. Pen has to spend at least a half a day resting, eating and in general avoid straining herself to recover from actual burn out. However, the further she pushed herself during burnout, the longer she will have to rest, as well as work on regaining the potential muscle mass lost, leaving her unable to properly utilize her powers at least a week if she is lucky, if not longer.
While Penelope’s brain is capable of operating and functioning at speeds far beyond that of a human, much like her physical speed, this is tied to her caloric balance as well, as it is not only her body that slows down and turns sluggish when “burning out”, but her mind as well, much like the average person experiencing heavy fatigue. While, eating such amounts of food as earlier mentioned has no ill effects on her body, doing so in public always garners attention and sometimes judgment from her surroundings, not to mention the monetary drain such quantities of food requires.
While her body can move at incredible speeds and she’s capable of registering the world around her, Pen lacks the reflexes to do high detail interactions during her bouts of super speed, from catching a bullet mid air to pulling a ring off of someone’s finger, Penelope lacks the agility and finesse to perform such actions, though she is still capable of less intricate actions such as punching someone or dodge a car thrown at her.
While fast, Penelope lacks the stamina to keep up her super speed in more than shorter bursts, and the longer she plans to use her powers continuously, the more she has to “slow down” to do so.
Much to Penelope’s frustrations, while her brain is super fast when it comes to movement and perception, she sadly cannot learn any faster than a normal person.
Much like her learning, Penelope’s body doesn’t heal much faster than an average person, only about a fourth faster, meaning that she has to be careful when it comes to using her powers, as the potential of serious injury or death is much greater. This is also one of the many reasons she is hesitant to try and push past her limits, as she so far has no idea what effects something like friction will have on her. However, since Penelope is not exempt from the laws of physics, friction, impact and the like affects her the same as anyone else, meaning that the faster she goes, the more it affects her, necessitating her suit, as moving faster than the average motorcyclist not only poses discomfort but higher and higher risks to the point of lethal consequences without it.
However, while her suit does offer some protection, it does not mean that Penelope should be any less careful, as not only is both severe and lethal injury still a possibility, the materials required are not easily come by, as well as the continued justification Elias has to give to use the machines necessary to repair and rebuild the suit limits how much and often said repairs can be performed.
Physical Abilities
General Physical Capabilities: Strength: Penelope is not terribly physically strong, her capabilities average for a woman of her build.
Speed: Penelope can move at speeds up to Mach 1 thanks to her mutation.
Reflexes: Penelope’s reflexes are likewise beyond the scope of humans much like her speed allowing her to react with the same speeds as she is moving, even if not nearly as great as she'd want, as she is for example unable to move fast enough to dodge a bullet.
Stamina: As long as Penelope can keep her calorie reserves (about 14.000 calories if she has eaten all five meals during a day) in the positives, she grows exhausted at rates much, much lower than a human, as long as the aforementioned calorie reserves are maintained, though if she somehow found a way to continuously supply her body with the necessary calories while running, she would still tire to the point of collapse after 12 hours of running at 120 mph.
Flexibility: Penelope possesses a flexibility on the same levels as an experienced cheerleader.
Fighting Style: Knowing she would have to fight heroes and other villains, both mutants and others, Penelope have developed a highly improvisational fighting style relying on her speed and knowledge of among other things physics.
Fighting Style Pros/Cons: The fighting style is highly reliant on her super speed, making it hard for others to counter or deal with, but if her speed is unavailable, the fighting style is practically useless.
History Of Your Character Penelope Gildemeister was the daughter of the renowned scientist, Friedrich Gildemeister, a man who made it his life’s goal to study mutants, the manifestations of mutations and the powers they bestowed. After years of tireless work while raising Penelope together with his partner, Elias Meyer, her father finally developed a machine that, in theory, could awaken the latent X-Gene, granting a previously non-powered individual mutant powers. However, when the machine was to be tested, it malfunctioned thanks to Friedrich’s assistant having previously sabotaged the machine, though on who’s orders Penelope never found out, and the resulting explosion killed her father and left her unconscious.
However, when Penelope woke up in the ruins of the laboratory, a grieving and shocked Elias kneeling by her side, she found that her dormant mutations had surfaced, though if it was due to the machine or the trauma of the accident was impossible to say, granting her super speed, a speed far beyond that of any human. Spending months searching for answers together with Elias as to why the accident had happened, Penelope finally found out that the machine had been sabotaged and deducted who it could have been. But at this point, her father’s assistant was gone and as it turned out, his identity was as real as sand in the wind.
With nowhere to go and little coin to her name, refusing Elias offer of a place to stay, wishing to become independent and no longer a burden to him, Penelope took to crime, petty at first, then more and more serious as she worked up a sizable savings while learning about her powers as she went along. However, after an accident breaking her arm and three ribs, Penelope realized she needed to find a way to protect herself. Thus, she contacted Elias, and after both the initial shock from the revelation of who she had become and why, as well as quite the long and firm scolding, Elias agreed to help Penelope. Thanks to his contacts and work with fabrication and design of a slew of different protective clothing, involving freelance work with important people preferring to remain anonymous, Elias and Penelope was able to create her Exstatic persona and the gear she required. Studying and researching on the side under Elias watch and care, Penelope got herself somewhat established after about six years, never quite giving up on finding the man responsible for her father’s death, and the reason behind the sabotage.
One day while feeding strays, Penelope happened upon a cat with Grayish fur and a missing ear. For some reason, perhaps it’s green eyes, Penelope decided to take in the stray, and thus obtained herself a house cat named Mumbles. These days, Penelope spends her time as a criminal “mastermind” stealing from the rich and feeding herself while searching for answers on the side, having bought an apartment in Uptown New York. Of course, any true villain need their own secret base, which Penelope is currently working on gathering the founds to finance, as well as all the tools Elias would need to continuously repair and improve her suit. Life is good, but for how long? Only time will tell.
Roleplay What’s your OOC alias?: Nerdlette Where did you learn about this site?: Knight of Sask pointed me in your direction. Do you have any other characters on MRO, if so who: Nope Sample RP: Pen sighed as she stretched, yawning softly before looking at her chest, trying to discern the source of the heaviness and warmth she felt there. Mumbles was fast asleep, purring softly as he laid curled up on his owner. A soft sigh escaped the speedster as she couldn’t help but smile as she reached a hand up, petting the sleeping cat before picking it up and putting him down next to her. Slowly, at least for her, Pen got out of bed, sliding on her pair of punk rabbit slippers, delightful little things with a fake lip piercing and tufts of blue hair on their heads, before shuffling to her kitchen.
Once there, she began preparing breakfast, opening her three refrigerators as she brewed herself some coffee. As she drank the scalding liquid, the speedster began making bacon, pancakes, sunny eggs and toast, adding waffles to the menu with a nice, rich and thick whipped cream. Pen then smiled, fetching her glasses while leaving a pancake hanging mid air, only to return half a second later, now able to see properly as she continued.
When the food was done, Pen smiled as she sat down, reading the newspaper as she ate. “Oh dear, another clash..seems those villains never give up..at least they were stopped. Should give me some time to fetch the loot at the police station..or the jewelry store, I do believe I saw some beautiful necklaces yesterday..” Mumbles then made the rumbling resemblance of a mew that Pen knew him for from near her feet, making the woman smirk as she looked down. “What’s that Mumbles? Chill and guitar jam? What a delightful idea!” and with that, she finished her meal, threw the dishes in the sink and headed for her living room, guitar and cat in hands. Today, was going to be a good day.
