The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

The woman with the ski-mask instructed the group to push. So push, Deirdra did. It wasn’t very heavy, especially with all the help that was there. The pushing was interrupted by a man with an eyepatch. He told them to show some identification. The blond felt herself smirk. Wow, he’s a cutie. Luckily, attractiveness didn’t distract her. She just appreciated a good-looking man, just like men appreciated her good looks most of the time.
The leader of their group, the one with the ski-mask, shot him in the arm. One eye shut slightly after the shot went off. “Ouch, that’s gotta hurt.” Deirdra smirked. The shot did mean something good for the woman. Her scorpion body was allowed to show itself. The woman took some steps away from her partners. As she stood smiling, her lower body took on the grotesque, non-human shape it was meant to. A tail appeared and her lower body hardened. Now with eight legs and a taller appearance, the woman stretched her arms, as if she had just woken up.
Glancing around at her surroundings, the end of Deirdra’s tail twitched with expectation. She couldn’t wait to start fighting and to see the reaction of their opponents. Surprise always made her smile.

Meld was on Deirdra’s side, which the blond guessed she would be. The cop, however, seemed pretty satisfied with dying. The scorpion woman scuttled as close as she could get to him. Her eyes got sad and she pointed away. “Please, go. My friend here is known for killing. I’ve never killed before and I’d prefer not to start with someone who helped save me. You don’t have to stand by, you can run and leave this.” Part of Deirdra really hoped that he would just leave. Killing someone who tried to hurt her, and killing someone who tried to save her were totally different things.
Looking back, she glanced at the cyborg woman. “Meld…What do we do?” The blond blinked and then looked at the other two cops. Should we really escalate this into a killing spree?

Deirdra looked over at Meld with a sense of admiration for the woman. She would obviously do whatever she felt was necessary to help other mutants. The blond felt lowly all of a sudden. Would she leave another mutant if it meant not getting in trouble? She didn’t think so, but would it be too hard for her to kill a human, even if it meant saving someone else? The woman was pondering these things when two more cops showed up on the scene. The scorpion snarled at the sight of them. If she had to kill any of them, she would. Her mind was made up.
The mutant-cop was telling them to stand down, but they weren’t. Instead, one of them asked if Deirdra was going to eat those men. She glanced down at the incapacitated humans and rolled her eyes. “As if.” A hand flew up to her hip and she sighed. “Humans are so stupid. I wouldn’t waste my time ingesting something that could only make me dumber.” Scorpions were known for eating almost anything, but the woman had never been in the form long enough to consume a meal. That was okay with her though, seeing as eating other living creatures could only be seen as a turn-off to men.
After talking about Deirdra, the other officer began to talk about Meld. The blond had heard about some of the cyborg’s escapades from her herself when they had been out drinking. Also, living in the same place as the woman made stories even easier to hear. The other woman was quite fearsome and Deirdra would never dream of getting on her bad side. She killed people without showing any remorse, so she had heard. The scorpion-woman glanced over at Meld, to see her reaction. Was this going to get worse fast?
That question was answered when a cat’s meow entered the scene. One of the cops pointed his gun at Deirdra and fired. The blond’s eyes narrows and her mouth flew open in surprise. The mutant officer tackled him and made the bullet miss her. She staggered backward slightly when the bullet hit close to her and went into a wall. After the shock was over, Deirdra’s eyes flew towards the cops. “You..YOU SHOT AT ME!” Scuttling towards the group of cops, she knocked the mutant cop out of the way. She quickly looked over her shoulder at him. “Stay out of it or I’ll hurt you too. You saved me and so I’ll let you go.”

An almost perfect memory? That was impressive. It didn’t seem like it would be useful in a fight, per say, but it would be good for the rest of a person’s life. “That doesn’t sound lame to me. It sounds useful and good for school. Not that I cared much when I was in school, but still. It’s the idea of it.” The blond tapped her chin thoughtfully. “Is it kind of like memorizing then?”
Deirdra glanced out the window and then turned back to Micah, who had just complimented her once again. A smiled blossomed back onto the woman’s face. “You say sweet things, but you want me to get caught. I can’t blame you. And modeling wouldn’t have worked well for me.” Her eyes looked sad for a moment. “I had to leave home when I was still pretty young.” While she was saying this, another woman started screaming about mutants. Micah jumped out in front of her, as if to protect her. The blond laughed. “I have no interest in hurting her. I have what I want.” She pointed to her ears.
She opened the jewelry store’s door and turned one more time to look at Micah. Deirdra winked and then blew him a kiss. “Bye, Micah. It was nice meeting you, but I need to get out of here. Maybe we’ll meet again.” Looking toward the street, the woman dashed out the door towards the Sanctuary.

Deirdra smirked when the police office began to lecture about taking the law into her own hands. “Am I supposed to wait around until one of ‘your guys’ finally shows up to do something about this cruel treatment? It was so much faster just to scare the living daylights out of them. Like I said, they’re all fine and therefore, I don’t think I should get into trouble.” An image of Roland shooting a whole troop of police men entered her mind. She shook her head. The blond didn’t want to kill anyone. At least, she never hurt anyone to that extent. It wasn’t something that appealed to her. She didn’t want someone’s life ending because of her.
She used to think she could kill someone, but now looking at the police man, she felt a bit queasy. The woman shifted her body so she could look at the mutant-hating humans. Could I kill them if I was ordered to? Could I kill anyone? Her hand slowly transformed into a fist. Was death something that would get easier with experience? If that was true, that meant she had to practice killing people. It was a gruesome though. Deirdra knew mutants were better than humans, but could she hate them just for being inadequate?
The police officer was still talking, but the blond was tuning him out. She knew she wanted to be in the Order and make sure mutants got what they deserved, which was the best. The thought of killing people who did horrible things to mutants didn’t bother her, but attacking the cop would be pointless. He may have seemed like a traitor, but he was trying to find an in-between. It was like he was trying to help close the gap between mutants and humans, but being a cop wouldn’t do that. She knew that. Humans would never stop hating mutants. They were jealous.

A police officer stepped onto the scene and Deirdra’s eyes narrowed. He told her to freeze. The woman put her hands up playfully and smirked. “You got me officer.” She glanced down at the four men that she had taken down quite easily. “They’re fine and if they’re paralyzed, it’ll only be for about 10 minutes.” The blond’s eyes rolled slightly. “That, of course, is only if I sting them once. If you don’t back off a little, I may make it worse for them.” She smiled and then folded her hands behind her head, acting as if she had submitted.
She was deciding what to do next when a familiar cyborg-mutant jumped from the roof and landed next to her. Deirdra gasped, startled, and then smiled. “Meld! Great to see you again. I noticed you around the Sanctuary, but I thought you weren’t in the Order anymore.” Shrugging, the woman turned to look at the cop again. “Seems like this could get pretty interesting. And by the way, arachnid body parts? Are cops always supposed to sound so formal? Because, the way you put that really sounded odd.” A hand went to her hip casually and she smiled.
The police man seemed pretty serious, which was a bummer. Deirdra hated it when people took her intentions the wrong way. Then all of a sudden, the woman noticed water moving around the man’s feet. “Wait, you’re a mutant?! You traitor! Do you know what these men were doing?” Deirdra snarled and pointed at the men. “They were harassing a small mutant girl. No one was doing anything about that, were they? Besides, the four idiots are fine. I just roughed them up a little.” The blond could feel the hatred manifesting on her face.

The man seemed distracted, which made Deirdra smirk. She loved seeing people’s reactions to her beauty. The blond knew she was pretty and liked to use that to her advantage. She practically went around strutting and preening. She was stealing jewelry to help her appearance. It was the only thing she felt like she really had. The only thing she ever felt like she had. Beauty.
“Our species? You’re a mutant?” The woman smiled appreciatively. “That’s why I didn’t want to kill you. To be honest with you, I’m not a murderer” Deirdra Sykes glanced at the man lying on the floor. After watching him for a few seconds, she noticed him moving. She turned back to Micah. “He’s fine. He’ll just be sore. I didn’t come here to kill anyone. Contrary to what you may think, I’m not that heartless.”
The blond grinned at the compliment Micah gave her, though she already figured they looked pretty good. “Well, thank you Micah. So, what is your mutation, if you don’t mind me asking?”

Deirdra had been running into a lot of trouble lately, or more so, she had been causing a lot of trouble lately. The young, blond woman had a tendency to get bored and that made her get into…situations. Today’s situation consisted of a group of four men harassing some girl with wings. Ahh, more reasons to hate humans. With a slight smirk, the woman crossed the street. She had the intent of teaching them a lesson, or at least scaring them so bad they wet themselves. Either thing would give her a sense of satisfaction.
After she placed herself near the group, the blond’s legs morphed into scorpion legs, a scorpion tail, and scorpion body. The woman grinned. The girl with wings looked up at Deirdra with a surprised expression. “You should go. Your wings are quite beautiful, by the way.” Turning towards the men, she took in the looks of horror upon their faces. “What? Haven’t you seen a mutant before? Or maybe you just haven’t seen the kind that isn’t scared of you idiots.” With that, the woman’s tail came down and around, knocking two of the men over.
Deirdra noticed on of the men running away, so she stung his leg. “Stay there until I’m done with you. You think picking on a helpless girl is fun, right? Pick on me. I promise you that it’ll be much more entertaining.” Whipping her tail around, she knocked the fourth man down. She wasn’t sure what she intended on doing with them in the end. Part of her wanted to kill them, just because her anger was mounting. On the other hand, she could just play with them for a while. She wasn't positive that she wanted to be a murderer.

Deirdra was on her merry way out when someone was obviously talking to her. She didn’t know anyone else that someone would call ‘Ms. Scorpion’. With a sigh, the blond turned around to face who was calling after her. He told her to apologize. She blinked and then a beautiful, white smile flashed across her face. “If I was violently robbing his store, he would’ve known.” The stinger at the end of her tail twitched slightly and she took a few steps towards the man. Not close enough to do any damage, but close enough to seem more threatening.
“I didn’t come here with the intention of hurting anyone.” She still had a smile on her face. Deirdra’s top half was covered by something that looked more like a dress than a shirt. She had it hiked up and wherever it hit on her scorpion body was fine with her. Closing her eyes, the blond’s scorpion body began to look like human legs. The bottom of her dress fell to her knees. Opening one eye, she laughed. “And for my next act…” The woman had no shoes and hadn’t brought any. The dress was just in case she had to turn into her human form.
The woman walked closer to the man. “I won’t apologize to a human who has no respect for mutants. I may have robbed him, but that should’ve been the issue. Whether or not my bottom half is human or scorpion, shouldn’t be important. Human thieves are just as bad, but you didn’t hear him shouting about my stealing, did you?” The blond circled around him and then smirked. “By the way, my name’s not Ms. Scorpion. It’s kind of close though. Same starting letter. My name’s Deirdra Sykes. You’re pretty brave. I have to admire that, though I could’ve killed you easily.” She paused. “I know people who wouldn’t have hesitated to kill you.” An image of Roland shooting cops in the head popped into her mind. There was an odd expression on her face. Shaking her head, she sighed.
“Anyway…” She held up the earrings before putting them on. “Don’t they look so much better on a real person than inside that glass box?”

When a mutant such as Deirdra Sykes becomes bored, anything could be on the agenda for fun. This was even truer when the blond began to get bored with her wardrobe. She had decided that ‘shopping’ should be done, though she wasn’t especially interested in clothes. She had so many, but jewelry, she didn’t have much of. So, when the fateful sigh of boredom escaped her lips, the scorpion-woman left to find herself some beautiful, expensive jewelry. None of it she intended on paying for.
As soon as Deirdra had stepped outside, she let her lower half take its favorite shape. Being a scorpion felt so much more natural than having human legs. Sure, men usually thought a woman with nice legs was attractive, but she had her stinger in this form. The blond was a big fan of luring men to her and then going her separate way, but she didn’t know many that would still find her beautiful in such a non-human state. She still had her upper half, but that could only distract from the fact that she had 8 legs for so long.
--
The woman was now climbing across the walls of buildings. There was no traffic and not to mention not as many people could see her if she stuck to alleys. Crawling on one wall, she recognized it as a jewelry store. The blond moved her body so it was placed in the street and she was no longer sideways. Taking her own, sweet time, Deirdra rammed her tail into the window of the store. She climbed in carefully through the hole and began to survey her pickings. Some man was screaming at her about breaking his window and about being a mutant, but she was ignoring him.
“Hmm, I like this.” With a grin, the woman smashed another hole into the glass of the counter. She reached her hand in and picked up a diamond necklace. ”Beautiful.” Scuttling over to another counter, she did the same thing as she had to the other glass. This time a pair of diamond earrings were plucked from the case. The man was still screaming about her being a mutant and she turned to look at him. The woman had no intention of attacking anyone, but she knew that someone may try to get involved. Actually, she was hoping someone would. Deirdra enjoyed fighting sometimes. It was a good stress-reliever.
Raising her tail up, she swung it at the man. It didn’t sting him. She hadn’t wanted it to, but it did send him flying into a wall. “Shut up. So what if I’m a mutant?” The scorpion-woman’s front legs climbed part way over one of the counters. “Shouldn’t the real issue be that I broke into your store?” Her eyes narrowed and she turned away from him, disgusted. “I could kill you no problem, but that’s not what I want. I just want something nice for myself.” Glancing around at the patrons in the store, she began to exit through the hole she had made to get inside.

Deirdra hadn’t had any Order missions. This one would be her first. She had put on her top that she intended to wear and a pair of cloth shorts. They weren’t important. Bottoms never were, seeing as they usually ripped apart during her transformation. The blond hadn’t found a possible way to avoid destroying half her closet as of yet, which was a bit irritating. Tear-away pants weren’t an option. Deirdra had found that they shouldn’t be an option for anyone. They. Were. Gross. -- The young woman was now with some people she had never met before, waiting to cause a scene. When the other woman told Deirdra no winning, she felt her bottom lip jut out ever-so-slightly. Luckily it wasn’t enough for anyone to really notice. The blond pulled her hair back into a pony tail as she stood waiting for the people they were supposed to fight. She looked forward to releasing her scorpion form. She felt more natural in that state than she did with her human legs.
The night before, Deirdra had been in her scorpion form in her room. She had to be to make more toxins. Human bodies weren’t made with the capacity to make poisons, which made the job of synthesizing some a problem. Luckily, at the Sanctuary, people didn’t seem to care about a half-scorpion woman scuttling around.
She felt herself getting impatient. Deirdra wanted to see the people they were supposed to fight…and not beat. She knew they weren’t supposed to do too much damage. The woman wouldn’t sting someone more than once. If necessary, maybe twice, but three times would kill a person. That wasn’t what she was there to do. They were there to distract.

Hello all.
I'm lacking in Deirdra threads. I was wondering if anyone wants to fight her, get flirted with, or just have a conversation.
Deirdra Sykes is 22, flirty, a scorpion shifter, and in the Order.
Please post on here or message me if you're interested in threading. I'm up for more than one also, so feel free to leave a request even if someone else has.
