The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

Her power was neat. She was a spider mad scientist. He would have to come up with a super hero name for her. An apt one. What did you call a 15 year old who acted like a 30 year old, could make experimental spiders, and see through their eyes? Lloth? Maybe... But like... an Oracle as well.
He tucked it away for later. Her name was going to be cool, he knew it. For now, all of the information came to the forefront, and he nodded. "Well, we let those two leave, then. That's one less thing to worry about." He turned to the diagram, finding the bathroom. The roof entryway was the best way to get there, though he would have to be careful on the stairs, as it went to the ground floor. Okay.
"I'll take out the bathroom man first, and bring him up here. Be ready to restrain him." He wasn't sure how she planned to do that, but if she said she could, he believed her.
Moments later, a man was washing his hands, looking over to his phones at his swipe right app. He smirked a bit and let out a little laugh at the reply he'd gotten from this girl with confidence issues. Turning off the water, he started flicking his hands, turning at the door opened, and a fist collided with his face.
Xavier caught him before he hit the ground, and paused, grasping up his phone and retreating quickly to the roof to set down their first victim. "Okay... One down. Can you bind him up?" He tossed the phone from the roof, his long throw being impressive, it disappeared, likely shattering against the ground a block away.
The pause before fine wasn't convincing him, but he relented just the same. The mentioning of downing a bunch of aspirin was a little concerning. "Are you sure that's healthy?" Weren't you only supposed to do that if you were about to have a heart attack?
She dismissed his fears, but gave him an alternative in the way of tappy spider. He didn't seem to react too much to having a spider crawl up him. Simply put, he wasn't afraid of spiders in the least. "Hello there, little friend! Thank you! You may want to try and find a safe spot on me, though... It's going to get dangerous!"
She let out one last bit on instruction, and he stared at her for a long moment afterward. "Wait, so you can... manipulate thier biology?! Woah... you're like... A litte mad scientist!" He grinned at that. She really was; she even acted like it half of the time.
He noticed her inexplicably slightly toned body. He'd never seen her exert herself in anything more than the bare minimum requirement in gym, so he was a little thrown off by it, but he lifted her easily enough. "Hold on tight."
He started moving. Quickly. It might surprise her just how fast he was when he wanted to be. They zipped through the shadows, pausing only to make sure the two men out front weren't looking their way. In one smooth motion he applied his power to the ground as they neared the side of the building. They were in the air moments later, soaring just enough to get to roof level. It was a testament to the control he had over his power, that he got the height and angle just right for them to land mid step and keep running until they were central to the roof by the entrance.
He set her down gently. "Okay... So... What are we looking like now? Paint a picture." He pulled out his phone to look at his album once more to see the layout. Once she confirmed all was well, he could get moving.
Xavier's brow furrowed as she called his actions smart. Which was it, then? And why did it bother him so much? He knew he was intelligent. It didn't matter what she thought about how he thought.
He nodded to himself, leaning down to look at her representation of the map. Quickly, what they were dealing with came into lucidity, and the young blonde stood, hand resting on his chin as he stared down at the map. Okay. Okay, they could do this. A drop of blood fell onto the map. He looked up to her to see her nose bleeding. "Woah, are you okay?" What that from using her powers? "Don't... don't push yourself too much, okay?"
He did the same as she did, pulling out his loaner trainee communicator and snapping a photo. "Are.. you okay to call out as they move rooms? I don't want to kill you doing this." He paused, and looked back to her.
"I, um... If you get on my back, we can get to the roof pretty quick." She was shaky from the use of her power; it would be a nice break for her if he took care of their ascent to the roof. He took back his chalk and carefully tucked it away in his hip pouch.
He shifted in place, before turning, and crouching down to invite her onto his back. He could run with her weight quite easily, he was sure, and the jump wouldn't be too much of a problem when they were close.
So, she was coming with. Dressed like that? Well, he supposed people dressed like that in the comic books... All power to her, if she could fight in heels.
She insulted him again, and his face turned a bit red as she looked away. "Right."
The mission was his now. He sighed, and took a deep breath, before turning to her. "Find any entry points to the top level on the outside... A fire escape, anything like that. If not, we can get up there other ways, I'd just prefer less effort if we can save the energy. We need to find entry points for as many of the rooms on the top floor as we can. If we can clear them out one by one, and retreat to the roof each time, we will be harder to pin down when they realize what is going on."
He stepped away from the exit, pulling out some chalk from his utility fanny pack. "Can you draw out a diagram of the floors? Mark entry points, pathways. We go for the most isolated first. Then we work from there. If we can get rid of his support, having a talk with him will be much easier."
If she knew anything about any of this stuff, she would know this was as by the book as things like this got. It was literally taken from the hero manuals, hostage situation and breeching guides. In his mind, that was the best approach. By the book, above the table.
"Moping? Who's moping? Not me. I'm- I'm fine. Was just... cleaning the floor over here. The ground. Cleaning the ground." He sighed and followed her into the building, keeping a wary eye out before turning as she annouced she'd found him.
He paused for a second, stepping up to wave a hand in front of her eyes. Sure enough, blind as a bat. She was in the eyes of her spiders. Amazing. That made a lot of things make sense. A lot of things. He stepped away, listening to her description of what she saw.
People with guns It could get dangerous quick. Ideally, he was able to take out several of them before anyone was alerted... Still, he shifted uncomfortably. "And you'll... what, keep me informed while I'm in there? How? You didn't plan to come in, did you?"
Situation saved as threadbare as possible, Xavier felt proud of himself even as the two men sent suspicious glances their way.
And then Megan said to him something that was easily in the top ten of the meanest things that had ever been said to him. "Oh... Oh wow."
She then stomped on his foot and ran off. It didn't hurt at all; she weighed practically nothing compared to him, and didn't appear to know how to fight in the least. The steel-toed boots helped there as well. Frowning, he chased after her, trying to shake off the harsh words. She needed help, after all.
"G- Get back here!" He gave chase, turning around the corner and stopping when he spotted her... Eyes glanced toward the ground as he found an interesting pebble on the ground and toed at it.
Xavier's expression softened a bit as she explained the affect her mutation had on her. "I couldn't imagine... I'm sorry that's happening, Megan." It was a little unnerving, the extra eyes. It made him wonder, however... Was... that how she seemed to be aware of everything? if she could do that, she could literally have eyes on the back of her head!
"Ah, okay... Wait, Scouts?" The mysteries were coming to light in rapid succession. Scouts. Her spiders? Wait, could they communicate with her?! Oh, wait! Did she see through their eyes? Woooah cool! She grabbed his hand suddenly. "Wh-" She whispered, and then started randomly laughing?
"Uhm... Megan? What are you... laughing at?" His brow furrowed as he wiggled his hand out as a spider started up his arm. "What the- Megan, didn't we talk about this? You said you weren't attracted to me, and, honestly, I see you as a friend-"
Wait... Oh- OOHHHH... Oh... "Heh heh, um. Nevermind." He blinked and hesitantly grabbed her by the shoulders to steer her. He was... dressed as a super hero. It wasn't like he could be in any way inconspicuous. "Well, young lady, if your home is really this way, we'll certainly have to tell your parents about your behavior! Underage drinking, You can hardly stand straight!"
See? He could think of convincing fibs, too! His brain was about to explode, and his eye was twitching, but he was fibbing, for sure!
"Uhm... Isn't that a violation of student confidentiality?" Xavier stared with a raised eyebrow at her confession. Just who did they give his information out to at the mansion? Did people know where his father lived?
His jaw dropped again as she mentioned eating people. "Oh... wow... Wait, is that why, uhm, with the raw meat?"
Was it intrusive to ask? Wait, wasn't it intrusive to look at his file? Oh, but two wrongs didn't make a right! He looked to Megan to ask if it was alright for him to pry, and froze when he noticed her... extra eyes?
What is the woooooorld? They were dropped off where she requested, and he followed, still looking at her oddly. "Uhm... yeah..."
Clipping off his cape ,he draped it over her shoulders as they walked. He could tell she was cold, and he always ran warm. "So... we are waiting for him to arrive? Or leave?
She stepped in to defend the Masochist, sort of. Why did people do that? It was like, when ever someone criticized the man, someone was there to say something redeeming. He watched as the young woman spoke, raising an eyebrow.
"How do you... know so much about them? How do you know so much about anything? You're fifteen."
She went on to explain more about the photo. Slowly he nodded. "You... changed your face? Wow..." It was pretty cool, wasn't It? Secret agent sort of cool.
"Okay... I'll help. You aren't the person you turned out to be, and who knows, you may never be again! If I can help you find some peace, or evidence that you weren't as bad as you fear." He smiled warmly, nodding confidently. "Either way, I'm on your side. Like I sad. Friends."
Xavier's hands went up as she got haughty at him. He waved them to the side as he spoke. "Okay, sorry... I just wanted to be sure!"
Xavier politely thanked the Cab driver for stopping before sitting next to the Widow lookalike. She got to business, talking about their mark. He kept that same, slightly concerned look on his face the whole time.
Until she mentioned she may have been a criminal. His jaw dropped, and he gasped. "No way! You're so nice!" He paused for a second, and tilted his head from side to side. "I guess I could see it, though."
The topic shifted to Elke. He couldn't help but be a little defensive for her. He nodded a bit. "I think it's a learned behavior... From... The Masochist. Seems like he only knows how to talk with his fists..."
She detailed her plans a little more, taking the picture to stare closely. "Huh... This looks... nothing like you. Are... You sure it's you? I mean, there isn't even a family resemblance."
Xavier nodded as she revealed her intentions. "Okay... This seems like... a lot. But. If you really won't take no for an answer... I'll help. Do you think... Maybe we should get more people involved? Are you sure you want to try to do this with just us two?" She'd admitted it would be mostly him, too. Sounded dangerous.
Xavier looked a little concerned at her word choice as she explained further that she wouldn't be giving up. He hung his head as he followed. He couldn't exactly let Ethan's new eternal love go and get herself killed, could he? I mean, he couldn't let anyone get themselves killed.
He was a bit thrown off by her response to his friend statement. "Megan, you're already my friend. It wasn't an offer." He looked her up and down as she reminded him of what his eyes could tell...
She... Wasn't much of a fighter. "Okay, but what exactly are you planning? I can't exactly do this if it will get people needlessly hurt... and no, I didn't invent the rules for Elke... They just... also help a lot when she's around." He froze. "Dont... tell her I said that."
The rules were, of course, a variant of those found in the Hero HandbookTM.
He raised an eyebrow as she started talking time windows. Wow... This all felt very... secret agent-like, all of a sudden. "Um... So, we are just waiting for them? Who is them?"
A Cab stopped for her immediately, which gave Xavier pause, because they always took super long to snag when he was waving. Oh well, he burned more calories walking, anyway!
Taking a seat in the back, after holding the door open for her, he scratched the back of his head before frowning. "You know... Elke isn't as out of control as people say... She really tries... Just gets a little ahead of herself sometimes."
He watched her swirl her parasol, and got a distinct... Early Widow feel... You know, when she was a villain? He felt the need to keep a bit of distance. Until she started talking.
Oh. She... really needed help with something... serious, then? "Oh... You're looking in to those things?"
He raised at eyebrow as she explained why she'd chosen him. "Uhm...Okay... Well... Are you sure you want to do this, if it's dangerous? Is it worth people maybe getting hurt for you to find these things out?"
He could tell from her words and her patient smile that she wasn't bluffing. If she was going with or without him, he really didn't have a choice. "Are you just saying it that way because you know I'll come?" He sighed. "Don't worry about owing me any favors or anything... What are friend for?"
Yep. He was in. He was already dressed for it, too, he couldn't exactly use that as an excuse to slow her down. "But I have rules... No one dies... Minimum force necessary, and we avoid fights or unneeded confrontations if we can... Okay?"
Xavier was lost. "You... Know Ethan?" Wow, Ethan had never mentioned he was dating someone, which was odd, because he seemed like someone who would definitely let everyone in the world know he was dating someone. Wait, he said nice to meet you? This... All made so little sense.
Megan spoke to Laira, who was in the other room, and he just sort of... blinked slowly a few times. Laira, on the other hand, froze in mid-post on a message board abojut this hot goth who had walked into the shop -see pics, may be blurry-, asking for what to do. Hit on her? What are some good opening lines?
Meanwhile. Lost. Absolutely lost.
He followed her out, looking back at the back room as Derrick calmly consoled the other two while they FREAKED THE FUCK OUT.
She asked him a strange question. "Not... Very?"
She asked him another question. "Very."
He paused and looked back at the doors of the comic shop, before turning and asking plainly. "Megan, what's going on?"
"Why Thank you, M'lady." Derrick bowed slightly, and then turned to make himself scarce. He'd been around long enough to know when he was no longer needed in a conversation, and he had some snooping to get done! She'd reminded him that The Widow had a planned movie release that he needed to research. Before he went, however, as Megan talked to Ethan, he placed a hand on Xaviers shoulder, and looked him in the eyes.
"Go with strength, my friend, and may conquest guide you to victory." It was a quote from Moneyhammer2000K... Xavier had no idea why he'd chosen to speak it to him now, though.
Megan complemented Ethan's shirt, and asked if it was limited edition. His eye switched, and he quickly spit out an, "I do, I-I mean it is. Yes. From the Champions Run of 99... Are you- Uhm, I like- Uhm, Blue Torch." Was... Ethan okay? Xavier raised an eyebrow at him as he looked back, slowly turning beet red as he did. Did... He just mouth 'save me'?
"Oh, yeah! Is it about the math homework? E- Ethan, Laira was looking for you." "Yup! I heard her, just now, ask if I could go back there, didn't you? She totally said that! Bye, I love you- I mean, Nice to meet you."
He stumbled off into the back room with his palm firmly planted in his face.
"Heh... He seems nervous about something... Wonder what happened... Anyway, What can I help with, Megan?"
Oh- Oh! "Oh!" Xavier's eyes lit up as he realized who it was.
"Megan!" "The Widow!" Oh, she was sort of dressed as a 91-98 style Widow from the Owlbearman comics, wasn't she? By the way, the second statement came from everyone in the room in unison other than Xavier. "Wait, you know her?" "Yeah! She's my friend from school!" Ethan was standing, now, trying to make his way around the table, which made up most of the room. Liara was leaning into her laptop, wiping away a nose bleed.
She sort of complimented the locale. "Thanks!" Derrick stepped forward. "Not at all, M'lady. Here for the latest Owlbearman Edition?" He adjusted his fedora, smiling wisely. "Always happy to have new guests, here in the... Revolution Sanctum!"
Xavier smiled widely, as Laira tucked away her handkerchief, which seemed to see heavy use for similar things, and Ethan stepped up to hold out his hand. "I'm in lo- I mean, I'm Ethan. Hi. Hello. I... Hi."
"Megan, I didn't know you were interested in comics!"
