The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

The preparations were complete in concert hall 2a for the annual Social Media Expert Panel at THE Con. The panelists were seated in a neat row, with little placards displaying their names and a small 1-3 word explanation of what qualified them to be speaking. The crowd was pretty large; this was one of the more popular events on Hero Day, where people could ask questions to Heroes and experts that had been floating in their minds all year!
The Panel Proctor did some basic introductions, talked on the theme for a while, and then... opened it up for questions!
The Rules: Use this as an opportunity to ask those burning questions to panel participants! You may Ask one question at a time. You must state who the question is being asked to! This can be to all participants!(C&P the question in your responses, Panelists!)
Anyone Asking a question must keep in mind a few things: Who is asking the question? This can be your character, or a made up NPC. Is the question realistic? It should be based on public knowledge of the character you are asking it to! Is it something someone would ask in a public setting?
That is all for now, though more rules may be posted depending on how it looks like things are going!

Ahhh, the part we all like best about attending a convention. The line to get in!
Use this as your character's entrance post! Describe how they got to the Con, who they were with! Banter! Split off to other threads, here!
The setting is as follows:
The foyer of the Convention hall is an enormous glass and steel latticed structure that gives off a feeling of open air and a sense of being almost lost. Luckily, there is a series of velvet ropes snaked around the large open hall that guide you toward the ticket booth and basic pass collection tables.
Too important to wait in the long line? Filthy rich enough to afford a VIP pass? Assisting in a panel? You get to walk right on up to the express line, in which refreshments are waiting, and your special pass is laid out with your name on it! Go you!
Special pass or mundane entry, either way, you still have to wait in line!
Technology, Heroics & Entertainment Con was one of the largest and most prolific conventions on the East coast. A 7 day convention covering different overall themes every day. THE Con covered everything from Heroes and Super powers, Electronics and Gaming, Comics and Pop Culture, Social Media and User Generated Content and pretty much anything else someone could gets geeks levels of interested in.
Taking place in the famous Javits Convention Center, it sports tons of panels, special events, games, and themed convention hall exhibits.
In this thread you will find links to different events happening in the Con itself, as well as to the Sign up Thread, and Archive(enter link here.) Post if you have any open Con threads here!
Post if you would like your character on a Panel, here! If you would like to ask a question at a panel, click on a panel thread and ask away! Your character doesn't have to be attending the con for you to ask questions!
Help or not, stopping a volcano from erupting was... insane! Like, the amount of pressure and force involved in a volcano was huge! Stopping that, you had to be powerful.
Even if you couldn't dunk. Xavier turned a little red when the other young man cursed, and compared him to a pro. He scratched the back of his head. "I mean, I guess I coulda gone that way... Wasn't as fun after a while." He smiled "I'm sure you can do it!"
He couldn't do it. Okay, maybe tone it down a little, then. Just a tad. He didn't want to embarrass this guy... He just carried himself with such confidence that Xavier had assumed he was excellent at everything. He sort of envied that a little, honestly.
"Uhm, Bad luck!" He said as he reached out to catch the ball that had been shot off out of the air. "H it is! I'll, uhm... Here!" He grabbed the ball and walked to the side of the court, stopping mid long baseline shot, and tossing it in from there "Backboard!" It bounced from the backboard and went in.
He'd gotten the call. He'd only had an hour to prepare!
You know, while the flier itself had seemed a bit shady, the prompt response and well set up answering machine message made him feel a little more secure in reaching out to this trainer. He was dressed in costume and was peddling his butt off to make it to the meeting location in time. At this point he would only be five minutes early, which didn't set a good precedent for his usual timeliness. He hoped his prospective coach wouldn't think he was always like that.
The giant teen skid to a stop on his bike, chaining it to a nearby city bike rack, and then jogging toward the location he'd been given. He paused outside of the old building, looking around somewhat confused... There was no sign or anything. Hesitantly he walked up to the closest door, pressing a PA button next to it. "Uhm... Hello? Mr. Zaganicci? Xavier Legend here for the, uh, training?" He let go of the button, turning to take in the scenery around him. He hadn't been to this part of town yet.
He hadn't been to most parts of town yet, actually.
Uh oh. Was she going to-"Stooop, you're gonna make me cryyy!"
His hands went up as if to calm a wild beast as the tears made their way out. He was making he cry. Oh god he'd upset her! What now? "Juni i'm s-"
"I haven't had a b-best friend for a long time..." Instantly his slightly panicked expression softened into a sort of adoration. "oh... Well, you've got one now! If you want."
His smile went a little more distant when she said she wanted parents like his. He missed his mom... their relationship hadn't been the best, but there had been some good moments... He didn't really have much to say to that, though.
"Why are you so nice? It's like... impossible to keep up with." The comment caught him off guard, and he went a little red, scratching the back of his head. "ah, well, you know... Im just me. No reason not to be, right?"
People told him he was nice all the time. He supposed they were right, but was it really so nice to just... always want to do the right thing? Apparently that was exactly it.
He handed her the card, and her thought train hit the breaks. "For you." He stated firmly, yet kindly. As she read it, he watched her expression carefully. Underneath the surface there was always that fear doing something like this, that the other person didn't view you in the same way.
She cursed. He blinked a few times as she went pale. He stayed quiet as she spoke, and then smiled. "I would make a card for my mom every Valentines day. My dad would help me." he nodded as she said she didn't understand, and backed away slowly.
Was she going to run? No, She sat
"Juni, if we aren't best friends, what are we? I see you almost every day. We hang out all of the time. We help each other. I'm happy when I see you, and you seem happy around me. We're buddies. Best friends." He nodded, his signature smile shining bright.
"I've got your back through anything, and you've got mine too!"
Sam. That sounded slightly familiar in perspective as well. The hand shake had a strangely competitive feel to it. The slightly shorter, but still tall man took his shot, nothing but net. Xavier smirked a bit at that, retrieving the ball, and dribbling it back into place behind the free throw line.
"No powers! Don't think mine would help me a whole lot, here, honestly! I mean, with dunks, sure, but I can't aim it well enough to score hoops. Not yet at least." He shrugged and with practiced ease jumped and tossed the ball toward the hoop.
Swish!
Sam mentioned he was older once, and that made Xavier tilt his head. What? Oh, like that Megan girl in math class! De-aged. Weird stuff. He paused, however, as his mind did its own math, and he reached out a thumb, closing an eye and using the outstretched digit to place an imaginary eyepatch on him. Wait... no, other eye...
HOLY CRAP "You're Cold Steel!" He was floored. "Wow! Woah, Wow! It's cool to meet you! Did you really stop a volcano from erupting?!" He paused as he realized he was nerding out too hard. Juni had told him to try and reign that in just a tad. He cleared his throat. "Ahem, Anyway, yeah, Uhh.. under one leg one handed dunk."
He ran up toward the backboard and jumped up, turning his body sideways and passing the ball under his leg, dunking the ball through the hoop, and grabbing the rim to hang there for a second. He looked back, and then dropped to his feet with a bit of a crouch.
It had been a while since he'd done trick shots, but it was like riding a bike.
There was a long, slightly uncomfortable pause in between the other young man confirming that he'd just gotten in, and passing the ball to him. In that pause he found himself shifting a bit uncomfortably before the ball was passed, and his smile widened.
"Oh, I don't mind either way! I'm a little rusty, too, I guess. Haven't played since last season." He'd been on his highschool's basketball team. And the Football team. And the Soccer team, too. "I know! We can play a game of HORSE to get warmed up, and go from there!"
He dribbled the ball casually a few times before passing it back gently, trying to get a gauge on this guy's skill level. "You can pick the first trick if you want!" He started stretching as he waited for the other guy to take his turn.
"Oh! I'm Xavier, by the way! I'm sorta new here! You know, though, you look sorta familiar. Do I know you?" He stopped stretching for a moment to reach out a hand for a shake.
She was a she today, she said! Okay, so that probably meant when they were male in appearance, they were a him/he! Good to know!
"Ahem, He/Him, Ma'am! I, uh, asked because the, uhm, No one on the Message Boards seems to agree. I'll let them know, though! He/him when you're Gawain, She/Her when Maya?" He was taking notes. He actually had a little note pad. He'd produced it from the costume he'd changed into before coming here(hence why he was near the lockers).
He knew about Mirror. He knew about all of the X-Men, but a lot of the speculation on the fan boards were just that, speculation.
"Uhhh, So, If I may ask, what's going on? Am I helping with something? Oh! Is it training?! I do want to be one of the X-Men, after all!"
His eyes widened as he considered the possibility. He'd already fought crime with Shin, played basketball with CS, and had a DR session with Serena! He was going to meet everyone!
Mirror was one of the more prominent X's too! This was exciting! Uh oh, he was staring at his clenched fists in front of his face. Had he struck a power up pose out of excitement again? Oops! He righted himself to attention.
X was late. Any by late, it meant he was 9 minutes early, which was a minute late in his mind. He'd been running down this way when one of the lockers had cried out for help! He'd opened it, and it turned out there was a kid inside! He let them out, and told them if they ever had someone picking on them again to call him. One number exchange later the kid confessed it was a teleportation mishap. Oh well! He could still call if he ever got stuck again!
His new friend's name was Edgar!
As he bolted into the Danger Room he was already apologizing. "Sorry, sorry! I wanted to be earlier but there Edgar needed my help out of a locker!" The tall, beefy teen skidded to a stop on the danger room floor, looking to Maya, already in her X-Uniform.
He gulped nervously. He hadn't really interacted with Mirror yet. He didn't know what to make of them... Or, honestly, what to call them.
"Uh, uhm, Hi! I'm Xavier! Would it be alright if I asked... uhm... Your pronouns?" He smiled nervously as he approached and held out a somewhat shaky hand.
They were here for something important, right? He'd been told to meet in the danger room today after class, but not much else.
Oh boy, she was gonna be squirrely, wasn't she? Greaaat. He could manage a normal person, but if Juniper didn't want to be caught, she wasn't going to get caught.
His face went a little red when she said she liked somebody. "I-it's not like that Jun-" She started coming at him and asking who it was. Goth girl? Megan? No, she was in a relationship with Agnes. Serena? She was practically a teacher! Becca?! She WAS a teacher. What in the world was she on about?!
His embarrassed look turned incredulous as she started preaching about safety. She mentioned teaching him how to kiss, and he went red again. Okay, this needed to stop.
"Juni! Juni, Juni. Look, it's not like that. uhhh, See?" He walked over to the table, and dug around a bit, fishing out a hand made card that said in elegant scrawl. 'To my best friend, Juniper' Space: 'Happy Valentines day!'
