The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

She snorted again, loudly. "Sweetie if you've not picked up on much of it now, I'm not sure there is much hope for you." She mused. "Though I suppose I could show you a thing or two." She trailed her eyes across him again. "You do seem a little inexperienced with people."
"You can buy me a drink if you like, I haven't seen much worth spending money on yet though~" She teased. He held out a ball of fire to her, she paused and considered it, placing her drink on the table gently and leaned forwards, scooping it out of his hands as she spoke.
"There are plenty people that ain't afraid of fire, most of em are just dumb. Or crazy." She raised an eyebrow and gently rolled the little ball between her hands as it slowly started to fizzle from a lack of fuel.

April had honestly been pretty well behaved thus far, she'd managed to keep her hands off off of Shelby in the cab, and even when they'd gotten into the apartment. Every little blush, every little twitch of nervousness and awkward flirting being fired back at April made her want the girl even more. It really was torture, but she didn't want to push Shelby. And it paid to wait until everything was comfortable and perfect. Resulted in a more memorable night at least.
April's one hand slowly shifted, trailing down Shelby's arms as the pink haired artist spoke initialy. "Very good way." She agreed, slowly trailing the nails along little areas of exposed skin on Shelby's arms.
"I thought you'd never ask~" She purred through a laugh, leaning into the kiss with Shelby and softly sliding her arms down Shelby's sides, enjoying the warm and eager contact. In a manor of minutes April ravenously discarded a whole lot of clothing and performed a whole lot more kissing, among other things, taking a gentle lead to the less experienced girl.

Well the implication there was pretty hard to ignore, but who was April to judge? She was currently jobless and she didn't know what his life circumstances were like. Her parents had conditioned her to not jump to conclusions, while the law was to be respected in her household it wasn't to be at the expense of people that had been mis-treated and labelled by it.
He was edging closer to her now, which implied either he wanted to mess with her, steal from her or was actually interested in finding out more about her. She was leaning towards the latter.
She snorted. 'Little thing' indeed. "Keep improving your social skills and you just might find out~"

Oh so he wasn't a total asshole then, just mostly? That she could probably work with. Probably. Normally she'd probably have gone for someone a little more obviously fluffy, but the fire just had her attention. Like a moth drawn to a flame, so to speak. Except this moth didn't burn.
"So is this your first time ever buying alcohol? You know that you can buy it outside of clubs right? I guess that'd explain your reaction, most people would be expecting a little discomfort at fire." A playful little smirk graced her lips. "Even if it is just a little cozy warmth." She was mostly teasing, he was still hotter than most bodies she came across.
She burst into another short laugh. "Sweetie, I'm more experienced with danger than most people you'll meet." Not that she'd deny danger had a sort of allure, April liked adrenaline. But he wasn't dangerous, at least not to her. Interesting though.
She took another long pull of beer before taking a slow sultry glance across his figure. "An' you're the second brightest flame honey, you just don't know it yet." She purred.

There was this little part of April's brain that would rather keep things platonic with Stephanie, work out more about the other woman. There was something alluring about the little flashes of personality she'd shown and the blonde could honestly use more friends in the city. Friends at all really, she did not remember any of her apparent friends.
But... She was so pretty. "You're gonna find out." April raised an eyebrow, not checking the paper or daring to take her eyes off of Stephanie just yet. Screwed? "Bit presumptuous, see how the evening goes first shall we?~" She teased.
"Oh I will. Not every day you get to go out somewhere nice with a gorgeous woman, gotta make a lil' occasion out of it." April would have to scour her closest for the perfect thing to wear. One of the fun benefits of having worked and lived here forever and being de-aged was the sudden windfall of gorgeous outfits she had access to, but had no memory of.
"See you there, bells on!" April'd not been on a date in forever, most of her recent hookups had been far more spur of the moment. This would be good for her.

Wow, he really seemed to be strung out from just speaking to a bartender. April was used to dealing with people that were coiled up, on edge. Ready to explode in some way or another, but this guy was taking things to another level. There was also the fact that he was a fire mutant, she'd once heard that fire mutants tended to follow personality archetypes. Maybe this guy drew the short straw and got the volatility? April had been told she'd gotten the hot-headness, or maybe just the hotness? It was a pick up line. It worked.
April took a swig of her own drink while she watched the man, before he flipped her off. She spat out some of her drink in laughter. That got her a look from the cute bartender. Oh well.
She took a few, amused steps towards the man, taking a long pull of her own beer. "Hey sweetie, you know that most people come to clubs to socialise, and so far you suck worse than the teenagers with fake id's, and that's saying something~" Ooooh his drink was on fire.
April leaned on the edge of one of the tables next to his couch and took another amused swig.

"Oh sweetie, you've not had fun until you've defiled most rooms and closets in a house~" She joked. Okay well it was only kind of a joke. She was in on the joke.
"Ooooh I like the sound of tha-" The sudden shift in scene absolutely took April by surprise. She just stood, routed the spot staring around the room for a few moments. Here she thought Shelby was just drawing something to impress April, or to settle her own nerves. This was.. Well, this was truly artistic expression.
"I-" The words escaped her. Shelby had done the impossible, and caught April well and truly off balance. She spent a few moments staring around the room, glancing at the painted fireplace and the little details she'd just thought were cute a few minutes earlier. Now she appreciated them in much more detail.
Blinking slowly and turning suddenly as she was drawn towards the fire by Shelby, April held out her free arm towards it. It wasn't the normal crackling heat from a fire, but the temperature was there.
Shelby was still holding April's hand when she fell, April had just been taking in the cute little sultry look Shelby was throwing her way, and was still very metaphorically off balance before rapidly becoming actually off balance, and landing just over Shelby, her arms catching her and bracing her just above the other woman, so April didn't actually land on her, just over her.
"Well. It's definitely got us both of balance~" Puns were not her strong suit. The blonde flashed Shelby an amused grin, a few stray blonde locks escaping and dangling.

One of April's favourite new discoveries was clubs. New York just had so much going on all the time, and her favourite places were the ones that kept a pretty high temperature, clubs tended to absolutely radiate heat. Firstly they were naturally just warm by virtue of being inside, and then there were the hundreds of writhing, intoxicated bodies you found inside, slaves to the rhythm inside. Now April wasn't really a music person, and even if she was club music wasn't necessarily what she'd be interested in.
What the music did to people however, she was a fan of. Everyone was suddenly injected into the vibe and head space that April lived her life in, everything was so bright and interesting, people's inhibitions were a little lower, okay a lot lower.
She generally found that the quieter areas of the club were where she liked to try and meet people. Firstly it was easier to get a feel for them when she could actually hear them, it was generally closer to where the drinks were too, which helped everything a little.
However this time April found something she wasn't expecting. Another fire mutant, and one just brasenly brandishing their mutation right in the middle of the club, using it to intimidate the bar tender no less. She stared for a few moments, lost for words.
It wasn't just that he was similar, even his flames looked similar to hers. New York was the best. As he walked away April got the bartender's attention and leaned in pointing to one of the bottles of ale and batting her eyelashes. She swiftly got serviced by an absent minded, slightly cute bartender. "Don't worry about the hothead sweetie, and thank you." She took her drink and slipped the woman a tip, turning on her heels and leaning against the bar for a moment eyeing the fire-y gentleman.

April rarely ever though of what it would be like to have family that she was directly responsible for. She was the second youngest, and by the time her and Danny were living together apparently both of them were already in their twenties and she's already been through a lot of probably life changing experiences, and now that she was back to 21, he was older than her. Which she still couldn't wrap her head around. He was still the same person, he just had all of these subtle differences that made her a little uncomfortable around him.
Beyond that, the longest relationship she'd held that she could even remember had been little more than a few weeks, and she was careful where the risk of kids was presented, very careful. Not just because it was this whole thing to deal with on it's own before the kid was even there, but because it implied a level of shared commitment to another person that she honestly might never be ready for.
All that being said, April loved kids. She loved moms too, especially cute ones that had their priorities straight. Stephanie seemed to.
"Oh.. That's expected." She blinked. Mutant kid huh? That must've brought it's whole own set of problems along with it. She was glad she'd manifested as a teenager, things had been a little less open back then anyway so if she'd shown her powers as a kid there may have been more prejudice afloat.
April stood back and let Stephanie deal with her daughter and babysitter. She wore an amused smile and quirked brow when Stephanie turned back.
"Sounds like my idea of a good time. How pretty should I make myself for you?" Oh she did love a woman that could be forward. It was helpful to have an idea of dress codes before you turned up at a place for a date though.

April quirked an eyebrow with a snicker. "Oh really?~ I think I could probably work out a few uses for those, but I'm guessin' what you were thinking wasn't that simple?"
The line was cheesy, cute and amusing at the same time. April burst out laughing and slowly shifted from holding Shelby's hands to lacing her hands just behind the adorable woman's head. "You're so adorable, can I keep you?" She teased, leaning in for another kiss.
"I like surprises~ Do you mean right here, in the kitchen? I don't think my roommate would like it if we got messy near the counter, sweetie."
Going somewhere else? Okay, April really had no idea where this was going. "Hmmm, well I've already gone somewhere with you, so sure! What'd you have in mind cutiepie?"

Tilting her head in thought April wondered what it could possibly be that Shelby was referring to. "Warmer, but not there yet. Hmm." She racked her brain. "Hmmm. Is it involving pencils, brushes? nudity? Paint?~" She mused, both teasing and trying to approach something resembling an educated guess.
That made sense she supposed, April didn't recall having any particular issues with her groups of friends at all. Though she'd always been a little weird, rambunctious and flirtatious to be fair.
April gave Shelby a wicked smile and tugged her gently towards the door, turning the key and unlocking the room, spinning back around and nudging the door open with her foot while she reached out to grasp Shelby's hands again and tug her inside her abode playfully.
The apartment wasn't anything fancy, mostly bare with a few nice ornaments here and there, bunch of musical posters courtesy of Danny. There was a little kitchenette, and there were a pair of bedrooms at opposite ends of the apartment. "Would you like another drink, or should I just show you my bedroom~"

April chuckled at little as Shelby nuzzled into her hair, there was something really innocent and sweet about Shelby that she found very intriguing. Assuming the cutie was cool with it, she'd definitely keep up with her after tonight. Even if they didn't get to fool around much, April liked her style and personality a little too much to lose touch. "Well it's definitely nothing bedroom related, I've seen it all, and you're not all that experienced." She winked. "Something art related and cool? Oooh, I've not done art stuff in the bedroom, is it kinky?~" She purred.
April nodded in a mild understanding. "Yeah, I get you. That's good though, one of the nice discoveries I've made is how much people have progressed in those areas~ All the cute gay and bi girls are much more comfortable being out and hit on." She eyed Shelby with a slightly sultry appraisal.
"Ooooooh! You right about the gorgeous thing~" April purred.
"Honey, I fit in everywhere, I'm just too beautiful to ignore." She boasted, leaning her head on Shelby a little before the ding of the elevator interrupted them.
"Mmmm, come into my parlor cutie~" She started leading Shelby to her apartment.

April laughed. "I'm pretty sure you've already given it to me hun, but If you say so~" She purred.
Skye wasn't terrible at the back and forth flirting. Truth be told she was one of the better examples April had seen as of late, but very very few people could hold a candle to her. She was so in her element here, and Skye seemed a little off balance. But they were both enjoying the whole interaction, and the activities that went along with the interaction had been more than enjoyable.
"Ooooh~ I like that word. Coerced. Sure Sparky, I'll get too work on coercing you~" She teased, letting Skye lead them downstairs to find some "Maybe next time we can find a bedroom, gimme a little more room to work~" She teased one last time before they found some drinks.
The rest of the evening was highlighted with some drinking, lots of giggling and chatting, and some more rigorous, stress relieving activity.

April quirked an amused eyebrow at Stephanie's comment. "Oh is that so beautiful?" She purred, thoughts flitting to getting to know Stephanie over a nice hot meal, somewhere nice and cozy, out of the biting chill and snow. Her eyebrow raised further and was preparing her very intrigued forward response when they were interrupted by another woman.
The first thing she noticed, the interrupter had a small child. The second thing she noticed was that the woman (likely a baby sitter) was also cute. So sue her, she found cuteness in most people she came across.
April stood back a little and gave Stephanie space to fuss over what appeared to be her daughter. She slowly developed a massive grin. She stood with her arms crossed, legs crossing a tiny bit as she gave them some space, amused at the whole scene.
"Hiya Wendy-" April chirped almost absentmindedly as her attention was on Stephanie and the adorable little thing in her arms. "She. Is. Adorable." April punctuated each word, her voice's pitch raising slightly. She leaned forwards a little, not too close. She didn't want too overstep any boundaries, make Stephanie or more importantly the little one uncomfortable. "Hello Malia~ I like your outfit~" She cooed.

April tilted her head at him and gave him a pretty innocent smile this time. "Oh, so I take it you know the area pretty well then?" She mused. It would probably serve her well to get to know a few people around that knew what was where. Rather than just always aimlessly wandering around, even if that had led to a few particularly exciting encounters.
She shrugged. "Shady tap I think it's called, someone suggested I meet them there, I have no idea where it is or anything though." She admitted, embarrassed. What April was unaware of, was the bar having a pretty heavy anti-mutant leaning. Not that she was a visible mutant, but she definitely wouldn't have agreed to meet if she'd known this.
She snorted "I'm definitely not spiritually lost, just physically. Pretty sure I know where I fit in the universe." She chirped. "And it freaking sucks that anybody would do that to their kids. People like that should never have children." She shot back with some heat, completely unashamed.
She raised an eyebrow at Erik. "That's awfully sweet of you Erik. Did I pass whatever mental test you were throwing my way?" She asked innocently. He was so hard to read, but struck her as super cautious. He'd also not remotely responded to the flirtatious body language she'd thrown his way. Hm.
"'Preciate it. Really. But I had my phone in my purse when I woke up, found some numbers I recognised and pieced some things together. I'm just slowly putting the rest of it together while I explore the city." She admitted.
