The reaction to her comment was exactly what April was expecting from Shelby, all kinds of cute and awkward all bundled into one. She just watched the woman floundering in amusement, raising an eyebrow. "Oh, you wouldn't be opposed to me putting a collar on you and claiming you?"April had done her trips around the kink roller-coaster, she could tango with most of them.

She was just teasing. Well... Mostly.

April gave Shelby a few moments to have a drink, get food started and calm down her poor little heartbeat while she stopped to have another drink. She of course, watched Shelby the entire time, placing the drink down on the counter and leaning opposite Shelby, observing with an amused smirk.

Then Shelby started singing, and dancing. April froze for a moment, just watching in disbelief before slowly cracking into rolling laughter. It was the nerdiest, cheesiest thing April had ever seen and it worked. April stalked back over to her beautiful new friend and cupped her face again, leaning in for a deep lingering kiss. Parting with what she hoped was enough time for the food to not have burned.

April wouldn't go as far as saying she'd enjoyed the interaction overall, it was definitely stimulating. And comfortable, the man was a little odd, and obtuse, but he was warm and taken in by her own fire. It wasn't so much a kind of mutual enjoyment as two flames attracting one another. She was having fun, but she definitely wasn't sure about his personality.

April had been chipping away at that top layer of irrefutable pride. Maybe his treatment of the bartender had bothered her, or maybe she just figured as a hot headed fire mutant he needed to be shown that there was always a bigger fish.

One way or another, his admitting that he'd been enjoying her company, and that she was the hottest thing in the room was a sweet melody to her ears.

She hid her smile for a few moments, planting several more lingering, fiery (literally) kisses along his jaw line before sliding her hands up to loop around his shoulders. "That's all I needed to hear."She leaned in and rewarded him with a much more eager, hungry kiss.

After a few, intense moments she broke it. "So. Get outta here with me?" She knew what his answer would be.

April was good with words, true. But she usually liked to be pretty upfront and honest with things. Some people felt intimidated by her, and she was getting the vibe that Blue was feeling that way. She supposed she could see how someone a little lacking on the social skills might feel that way, she’d maybe dial it back a little. She did still think he didn’t need more of an ego though.

April laughed a silvery laugh once again. “Oh, I can definitely tell you’re warm blooded, some things are just obvious.” She leaned into him with the dance a little more, enjoying the temperature sure, but something about Blue was very interesting. He was different, and that was fun.

“Sweetie, people that are interested in you because you can set them on fire, generally speaking need help.” She grinned playfully, leaning over to plant a couple of small kisses on his neck and jawline before pulling back, letting out little playful bursts of flame with each contact.

There was something very satisfying about knowing you were getting to somebody that tried to play it cool (heh.) “So, enjoying yourself more than you thought you would in here tonight?” April knew the answer, but she raised her eyebrow teasingly all the same.

April stretched out a little before taking her seat, so happy to be in a warm place, free of extra layers. Good lord she could not wait for summer. “Flattery will get you everywhere, honey.” April settled comfortably into the chair and glanced around the restaurant. “You were right, about knowing the best places to take a girl out. My suggestions would have been much less nice.”

April glanced down at the menus herself. When was the last time she’d eaten out? Last time she’d gotten a promotion? God, that was technically so many years ago now it actually hurt a little to think of it.

April glanced up from the menu at Stephanie, giving an amused grin. “You’re living up to it so far, I’m sure you’ll meet my high expectations~” She teased before actually registering the question.

“Well, I like to let all the beautiful people I come across know they are so, more or less. So if pressed I’d say acceptance of my casual approach.” She emphasised the word casual. “I hope that won’t be a problem? I don’t really do anything other than casual.” She admitted shamelessly.

April grinned as Stephanie responded, a little coyly. "It so happens ya picked the perfect date to wait for then." Saving people from the cold was something April could do, very much so. "Yes please, that'd be swell." April was literally not built for the cold.

The warmth of the restaurant was immediately pleasurable to April, she absolutely hated the wind chill that was native to New York this time of year. If commitment wasn't literally the worst thing on the planet, she'd find a rich person to trophy wife for, and just spend all year in warm climates.

Nah. She'd get too bored.

April thanked the hostess a little absent minded as she got a good look at Stephanie's dress as the hostess took her coat and scarf from her, she shook a little, glad to be free from the extra layers. While she might have been used to it, she still didn't particularly enjoy having to bundle up whenever she went outside.

April looked up, aware that she'd been day dreaming over the gorgeous dress a little. "Hmm? Well I think a little journey is fine, so long as the reason you're making the journey is reasonable." She let that hang for a moment, tilting her head and giving a mischievous smile. "I've gotta feeling you're more than worth it. You're gorgeous by the way, but you knew that already."

April giggled quite girlishly, Shelby's attitude and general behaviour made her feel very very giddy. "That's a very good thing sweetie~" People that were pent up all the time tended to be the ones that snapped at those around them, which was not a cool look for most people to have. She was happy too help out some of these unfortunate souls, Shelby contrarily was just shy. April was happy to help tug her out of her shell a little bit.

Shelby nuzzling into her neck made her grin wolfishly again, her hands roaming Shelby's back a little. "Mmm, I don't think I've been called that one before, I like to think my intentions are a little more altruistic with sex, rather than selfish." She purred, kissing the top of Shelby's head.

Biting her lower lip April glanced down at the timid Shelby and couldn't resist more teasing. "Are you implying I should get you a collar?"

April giggled again, leaving a little lingering kiss on Shelby's neck as she pulled away. "Do my best no to distract you too much, no promises though~" She trailed off, going to have another drink of water. "You're just too cute not to take advantage of."

April took a quick sip of her new beverage and smiled. This was much more her usual pace, little bitterness in there made it more interesting.

April nodded, chuckling. "Experience is definitely fun, ups the quality overall of the sex. But there is something special about helping people open up, especially teaching them how to use what they have." She was grinning a little goofy, remembering a particularly cute recent encounter.

April was always one to enjoy wandering little physical contacts. Spirals and circles being drawn on her skin with another person's hand was just one of the most attractive things another person could do, teasing wise.

"Oh yes,I agree completely. So many beautiful babes, gorgeous studs~" She purred.

April actually let out a little shudder. This encounter was definitely having an exciting effect on her. "God, you are an effective tease, Junebug~" April's own hands were wandering Juniper's back, slowly trailing and getting a feel for the other woman.
