The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

Rayne shakes her head slightly and sips her drink. "New York is crazy." That's all there is to it. So many people and so many things happening here...why she came here from Australia is something she is still questioning herself on, but it drew her here. She looks back at the game and frowns when the opposing team scores first. Catch up time it is, luckily its still the first half so there is still time.
When Sam replies that he doesn't know of anyone who has gone back to their original age, it makes Rayne wonder if it would even happen or if what did happen to the people in New York is permanent. One again Rayne is glad that whatever happened to him, didn't happen to her. She does not want to go back to being a teenager. Nope! She likes being an adult thanks.
"Most of my clients, the big guys anyways, are the ones who hate needles. If you really want something done though, call the shop and set up an appointment to at least let me draw something for you, see if you want it or not." Rayne wipes her hands down on the napkin and pulls out a card with the shop name on it, her name, days and hours she is working and the number of the shop before sliding it across the bar top to him. "There are other guys there if you feel like you want more experience or don't want a girls hand," at this she rolls her eyes. She has had guys come in expecting her to be a guy with her name and then see shes a girl and want someone else. "Think on it."

Rayne relaxes a bit when Shelby starts to agree with her idea of her hitting her head sometime in the past hour or so since she has so much memory loss and all that. Rayne really didn't want to have to argue about something with someone who was mentally not all there due to an injury. "I don't think the hospital will care that you aren't from around here. I'm sure they get people from other states and countries who are on vacation and get hurt. I just want to make sure you are ok Shelby." She wasn't going to let her just drive off when she doesn't remember anything recent.
When the fire truck races by them, Rayne stiffens some and winces ever so slightly at the loud noise, her ears ringing for a few seconds before looking at Shelby when she speaks again. "Calling your parents would be a good start, do you know their number by heart or is it in your phone?" Rayne just hopes that her phone is locked by finger print and not a passcode...that would make things difficult.
Rayne shakes her head. "Like I said, I'm not leaving until I know you have someone to go to that you know...or the hospital." Leaving someone behind is not her style.

Rayne had her eyes on her game since her team was on defense but when Sam says something about De-aging she looks back at him with her eyebrows raised. "De-aging? That's an actual thing?" Her question is answered when he brings out his younger ID and the older one side by side. Leaning forward Rayne looks between them. The only thing going through her mind is...the heck? Seriously?
Rayne looks between the ID's then at him when he explains how it happened. "I remember when this happened. Came across a store that was in total chaos." Her mind goes to Shelby who was having memory issues when she found her at the store. Now everything makes sense. Rayne shakes her head some. "Anyone you know go back to their original age or get memories back yet?" She wonders why she didn't de-age or whatever people are calling it, though her theory is that because of her mutation that it wouldn't have worked on her.
Sam brings a beer over and slides it over to her. Finishes her first one with the last sip, slides it out of the way and nods to him in thanks. "Ah, well it really depends on the tattoo itself, black and white or color, body placement, how much time it takes to create the sketch and how much time in the chair you need." Takes a bit of her food and sip of beer before grinning at him. "Why? Thinking of getting a tattoo soon?"

His words confuse Rayne and have her head tilting slightly again. "Tactically you are? How are you technically a teenager? You are or you aren't. Or am I missing something here." Rayne shakes her head slightly. "No I have nothing against cops and like I said, I'm a tattoo artist." Shes had a few run ins with a cop or two, but nothing that would warrant her anger or hatred towards them. Plus she has had a few come in for tattoos. The only thing that bothers her is when they flash their badge and expect to get a discount or something. Yeah no, everyone gets the same price no matter your job or station in this world.
When Sam calls other mutants potential friends, Rayne nods slightly. "That is also true. Friends would be better than extended family, specially if you are dating another mutant. Can't date your family." For her though, she hasn't dated a mutant before, let alone a human. Shes been way to busy to do any of that. She doesn't care though, she just wants to learn more about different animals and tattoo. That's good enough for her.
Rayne finishes her beer then nods. "Sure I'll take another beer." While he is grabbing one of those, her eyes flick to her game while she eats some of her burger and an onion ring or two. This bar food wasn't bad.

"I came for the game and the beer, food is a bonus." Takes a bite of the burger and nods in approval. Its not over done, still pinkish in the middle and everything is right. Its a good burger, better than some places anyways. "You look like you still a teenager, but no worries. Like I am no cop." No Rayne would never be a cop, she doesn't have the temperament. Someone would piss her off to show her animal side and just like that she would be persecuted and probably fired.
Rayne nods when he explains a bit more and is about to ask how he can be so calm about telling her about who he is and what he can do before he explains again that this bar is mutant friendly. Rayne shakes her head no before sipping her beer again. "No, no problem with mutants at all." She pauses a for a few moments then sighs. "Really cant have a problem with extended family now can you?" Lets her eyes go back to emerald green, leopard like for a few moments before releasing her eyes sight to human again and taking a few bites of her burger. She hopes she didn't just expose herself to a liar.

Rayne's eyes flash to his hand when they frost over to cool his drink down, eyes flickering an emerald green for such a split second that one might think they didn't see anything, before she stiffens then forcing herself to relax. She doesn't have a problem with mutants, no she doesn't, but when they flash them in the open like that it always puts her on edge. Never know who could be watching and associate you with that person. Specially when shes trying to fly under the radar from those people. "You are pretty young, I have to agree. Are you even old enough to be in this bar itself or have that beer?" Shes going to play it a but cool for now....no pun intended.
When he lifts up his shirt and shows her the tattoo that hes got, once again Rayne stiffens. Straight up numbers, nothing else. Either its in memorial to a friend or date or something, or its worse than that and she wasn't goin to ask. What really made her stiffen though is all the scars on his back. A very low growl rumbles from her throat, her eyes now straight emerald green and cat like. No one should be beating on a kid like this. When he turns back around though, she closes her eyes quickly and controls herself before opening them and they are normal again. When he calls himself an X-Men though, Rayne looks towards him with almost animal like intensity. Now that. That she was not expecting.
Rayne takes a sip of her beer while he goes to get the food and glances at the tv to see her game again, seeing nothing has happened still and looks back at Sam when he returns. "Appreciated." She waits a second or so before deciding to go with her thoughts. "I'm going to assume your mutation has something to do with Ice from what I saw with the bottle a few minutes ago." Takes a sip of her beer before going to work on her burger. Putting an onion ring on top of the meat, some ketchup and bbq as well. Just making it how she likes it.

Rayne rolls her eyes in good nature at his smirking. Always at the bar, the bartenders, male or female have to flirt. Probably get better tips for it most of the time, specially if they are hot. Now Rayne tilts her head at him again in confusion. "Wait hold on a minute...you own the place? Yet you are covering so many shifts you don't have the free time? Why not hire people?"
At the tattoo parlor when someone applies each of the workers there give the artist something to sketch out and color with pencils like you would a tattoo itself, layering the colors. They want to see if this person has what it takes to tattoo and if they can giver the clients what they want or if they will fail. After that they go through a trial period with easy clients and tattoos along with grunt work before getting assigned to someone in the shop so they can be trained. It takes a while and not a lot of people can do it. At least for this shop with their standards.
When Sam states that he hates needles Rayne has to laugh. "Oh man, if I had a dime every time some big macho guy came into the parlor wanting a tattoo and told me that they hated needles...I'd be rich and never have to work again." She takes a sip of her beer and shakes her head. "Dont tell me you got your first tattoo in a basement by a friend...or did you go to an actual parlor? Whats your original tattoo if you don't mind me asking? And code name? You guys have those in security?" Some things were not adding up with that and Rayne was getting suspicious that it wasn't actually security but something else.

"If you can find a job you like to do and it doesn't feel like a job at all, like a chore, then keep that job. Those are hard to find. To do something you actually enjoy doing and can find the fun in." She was stuck in a job that's he absolutely hated at one point before she became a tattoo artist. Now she loves going to work. Well, when the client sucks and is rude as hell, no, she hates her job.
Rayne glances at the tv when it kicks off and takes a sip of her drink. She knows for a fact she will be ordering more drinks during this match and depending on the game itself, how it plays out, it will depend on how much she has to drink. This burger and rings are going to be great. Well hopefully the cook doesn't burn it.
Rayne grins at him. "Well its not spelled like the weather, but I'll take a free compliment any day." She glances at the game to see her team kick the ball at the goal only to have the other teams goalie save it with a dive. That would have been a great early goal for her team to take the lead and draw first blood, but nothing is that lucky, not with these two teams. Rayne looks back at him and nods. "Nice to meet you Sam and I think I will keep with your name or bartender for now thanks." Chuckles at him.
Rayne takes another sip of her beer and nods once. "Security must keep you busy huh?" She isn't going to pry into his security detail since it can be very broad but it doesn't stop her head from tilting to the side slightly like an animal would do if it was curious about something. "Ah me, I work at a tattoo parlor a few blocks from here."

"Going on a trip for work while also being able to see an old friend, got to love when it works out like that, yes? Makes it less boring and not all work and no play." Then again if she knew what he actually did and was doing, she wouldn't be saying that. "What do you consult about? Beer?" Gives him a half grin, so he knows she is joking with him before glancing at the menu again.
Rayne holds back a laugh when he and the cook joke with each other. That's a good work place. Not all serious all the time. "Bacon burger, onion rings, bbq when hes ready in the back." Assuming the burger comes with lettuce and tomato and cheese she doesn't add to it.
Takes a sip of her beer glance at the game, seeing it is about to start since the anthems have finished before looking back at him. "Rayne. I'm here for work. You are? Don't really want to call you bartender all day."

Rayne was a fan of the sport, but she also played when she had the time that is anyways. She gets competitive that she just had to stop playing for a while, plus moving here and needing to find work and settle down in one spot. Plus of course read more about animals. With all that going on she doesn't have time to look into joining a team, plus it is winter and Rayne hates playing indoor. Real grass is best. "Its a pretty big game, yes, though I am a fan of Sydney."
Rayne looks back at the menu for a few more moments before he lets her know that he was in New Zealand for work. "Yeah? What kind of work do you do that brought you out there?" Being a bar tender, or whatever he does here wouldn't bring him out there unless it was a convention or something. "Also, I'm already ready to order if your cook is ready. No rush."

With his thermal check he could see that she ran a little hotter than normal people, most people think its just a fever though. Who thinks someone always runs this hot? When he ends up changing the channel to the one she asked for, Rayne nods at him. "Appreciate it. Tv broke earlier and I wasn't missing this game."
When the bartender yells towards the back, seeing if they are awake she guesses, and she hears a yell back and pots and pan banging around the next few seconds, Rayne is glad that they do have food here. Not all bars serve food, least of all choices. How many bars has she been at that only serve pretzels or nuts or cheesy fries. What she wants is a bacon burger and when she is handed a menu that is the first thing she looks for.
When he asks her where she is from, Rayne looks up from the menu to him. She kind of figured with her accent and the names she pulled out for the teams and when she said football instead of the American name soccer, he could have guessed which continent she is from. Then again some people just don't know her accent if they have never been there or heard someone from their speak before. "Australia."

Rayne walks down the street, silently angry at nothing. Well not nothing, her tv broke today. Now, it wasn't out of no where, it was years old, very old, and she knew it was coming at some point, even if she didn't watch tv that often, but really it just had to happen when the game was on too. Next best place to hit would be a bar since Rayne didn't work today and she didn't feel like going out to buy a tv and take all the time to set it up. Game would be over by then.
Rayne adjusts her sun glasses before spotting a bar that shows its open and heads towards it. Not her usual spot, but for today it will do. If it has a tv in it anyways. Heading inside, Rayne pauses at the door step to take off her shades and hangs them on her lowish cut Brantley Gilbert shirt, though leaves her leather jacket on and heads towards the tv at the bar. In her jeans, she cant fit her glasses in a pocket or they could snap. No way is she snapping her Rays.
Rayne takes a seat a few stools/chairs down from the tv itself, no need to be so close and looks over at the bar tender. "You mind putting on the football game? Sydney is playing Gold Coast." Its an Australian game sure but its playing on a normal US channel today, lucky her. "Also a menu if you have food. Corona too, if you will." Might as well eat if they got food and of course beer for the game.

With one person freaking out and near hysteria, it would do no good for her to also freak out. Even if she kind of is. Who wouldn't after all of that at the store. "I don't know why you forgot, maybe you hit your head when you fell? Blacking out can cause memory loss, even for a little while. It should come back, though I don't know when." She cant smell alcohol on her so she knows she hasn't been drinking enough to black out that way. To know for sure she would need to go to the hospital.
"If you want to know why you cant remember, we could always go to the hospital around here. They can help you out more than I could. Blood work and maybe a head scan to see if you hit your head at all?" Rayne isn't a doctor so she cant help her with her memory loss or anything but going to a doctors office might be able too.
Rayne Is quiet for a few moments before pressing her point again. "I think you really should go to the hospital. They can help you out more than just providing answers that could lead to more confusion." She doesn't want to give her more of a melt down if her memory loss tends to be more than a few years, which to her, looking at everything, it will be.

"Apologies about the cold, the shop can get too warm with a lot if people here at once. I can put a blanket on the chair for you to lay on if think it would help?" Plus she usually doesn't run cold with her mutation, her animal sides keeping her warmer.
Rayne places the gloves on the small table beside her then reaches behind her and opens up a drawer and pulls out a black fuzzy blanket. Holds it out to her if she wants it. She knows the table and chair can be cold, shes had her arm done and it took a few sessions. It probably could have been finished in just two, but she wanted it to be done right and flawlessly so she is glad she made it out for three sessions.
If she takes the blanket from her, Rayne will look away so she can sit up and place the blanket down. If she does not take it, Rayne will place the blanket back in the drawer. Either or Rayne will put on her gloves after and wipe down the spot where she will be placing the tattoo. Once she has wiped down the spot she grabs her petroleum jelly, grabs some with her finger and wipes it down on the same spot she just cleaned. It will help keep the ink in and healing better later on.
Rayne grabs her ink gun but doesn't start it. "I'm going to start the gun so you can hear it, just let me know when you are ready for me to start." Once shes done saying this, she starts up the gun but doesn't start the tattooing just yet. The sound of the gun can cause people to flinch the first time and if she started the tattooing part then, the tattoo would already be ruined with a jagged line from the flinching.

Rayne chuckles at his words. All guys want to be nursed back to health by a 'hot chick'. She doesn't understand the fantasy of someone in a nursing outfit with all the pain they could be in and the blood and stuff. Then again...the outfits that have been made, the slutty ones. Eh, she could see it. "Lemme guess, they would need one of the nurses outfits? Or would you be happy with someone just hovering over you all worried like?"
Taking another sip of beer Rayne shakes her head slightly. "Why underage girls need to come to a bar to get a drink and risk being caught, I don't get. Just grab someone older who will buy you a case of beer or something and drink at home or somewhere authorities wont be at." That's what all her housemates did back home as a kid. Woods are always a good place to start, so long as you are back far enough to not see a fire light or hear the loud noise.
Glances at him with a side eye and a grin. "So you are saying you have been stuck by a cattle prod huh?" Seeing as hes a from Texas and kind of a cowboy hes probably worked with cattle and might have missed hap with it, but its too easy to poke him with this. "Well you do have plenty of over science fair age girls here for you to pick from, just keep walking your rounds."
