The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

While Rayne is grateful that he was there to help out against the people who wanted to attack her, she wouldn't be bringing anyone to her home. Or even towards it, not when they know what she is now, even if it was her own kind.
Rayne shakes her head slightly before replying. "Sorry, but I think I can make it home by myself now. Besides I can always knock people out now instead of sending them to a hospital too." While she is deadly as the leopard, as a human she can take care of herself even better. No one gets cuts and lacerations just some bruises and maybe a broken bone or two. "Thanks though for the offer."

Honestly Rayne hoped that he wouldn't worry about calling her a hooker. She couldn't tell herself or anyone how many times people asked if that was her profession just because she said she had clients at some point in a conversation. The first few times, yeah Rayne might have been insulted or embarrassed, but after a while it just didn't do anything with her and she found it amusing to say the least. No one has ever guessed that she was a tattoo artist, even when her own tattoos were on display.
Rayne grins at his own grin and his interest in her job. "Yes really." Tailor huh? She could see it but really, she knew the basics about being a tailor and all that, but not much. "Honestly I'll give my clients whatever kind of tattoo that they want if they set a schedule date. If I am not familiar with the style they want it gives me time to practice it and time to draw their tattoo out right. Walk ins are more tricky if I don't know the style, but usually the client knows what they want already." She shrugs a bit at that.

Rayne frowns at the guy in front of her. Honestly those were questions that had their own answers. What was she doing out here? Obviously either going home or out stretching her legs, but as for her clothes, she was just an animal. Usually animals don't wear clothes, unless their human owners are cruel. Shaking her head slightly she answers anyways.
"I was heading home before I was jumped. As for my clothes, I was just a leopard. They don't tend to wear clothing." Now its her turn to assess him very quickly. "What are you doing out here?"

As soon as the guy in front of her start to reach for his phone, talking about calling someone to help, she let out a low growl in warning. When this didn't stop him though and he pushed a button, Rayne took a step or two towards him and let out a hiss this time. This was her way of warning him that if he didn't stop calling there was a chance that she would attack him.
If he did stop dialing and put his phone away, Rayne would move towards one of the guys that was unconscious and grab the jacket before shaking it off him, which takes some time. Once it is off him Rayne moves back towards a dumpster with the jacket in her mouth. Once behind the dumpster the guy who helped her could hear a few cracks before he could see a head stand up over the dumpster. Pulling the jacket on and making sure it covers everything, Rayne steps out from behind it. "I'd appreciate it if you didn't call someone."
If he didn't stop dialing for help, Rayne wouldn't attack him, she would turn tail and flee before he could finish talking or explaining. She wouldn't stick around for people to show up.

Honestly Rayne is just good at reading people. Her job requires it. Sometimes people come in saying they have a high pain tolerance but once into the tattooing they try not to show the pain. Which is stupid really, because there is always a threshold that someone will pass before they end up passing out and Rayne needs to see this threshold before someone does pass out. Giving that person a break is easier and quicker then waiting for them to wake up from passing out. Plus she needs to know the truth about thing they talk about and other stuff. Lies don't help her work.
Rayne shakes her head and takes a sip of her drink before answering him. "Don't worry about it. Honestly it doesn't bother me. And I'm a tattoo artist." You cant call a person coming in for a tattoo anything else but a client really because they normally have to make an appointment and they cant be a shopper because they are getting something done to them.

Rayne nods back at his first nod. She assumed it had to be the boyfriend seeing as he was talking about him anyways. Although she never did assume he was stood up. "I didn't think you were stood up, not the way you talk about him and smiled after thinking of him." Gives him a small smile in return before taking the drink that was brought a second ago and taking a sip.
Although when his face goes bright red that even she can see in this lighting she can't help but laugh some. "I apologize for laughing, its not really at you, more the situation. No, no I didn't read your mind. I've been in that situation before hand though, with people thinking escort when I say clients." They may an appointment so patient isn't really the right word and it isn't customer so client it was.

Rayne nods but pushes the money back towards Rivka. "Hold onto this until after I'm finished." Goes to the swinging half door and opens it for them to let them in. Hearing Luke's words or where he should be she gives him a look. "You will be standing beside her and letting her squeeze your hand like a good boyfriend does. Now, follow me if you will." When they come through the door, Rayne leads them towards the back and into a different room where they do the piercings.
There is just a tattoo like table which she shifts around into a chair for Rivka to sit on before going about collecting all the items and products she will need and places them on a small table in there. "Just take a seat." After this she opens the earing bag and put the earing into a small bowl with a disinfectant in it to clean the earing one more time. Looks towards Rivka and Luke as she pulls on some gloves. "Are you ready?"

Rayne sees the smile coming on his face when he mentions his boyfriend and gives a slight nod. She doesn't judge that, to each their own as she says, so shes just glad that hes happy. Well shes glad that people are happy with their choices and not...not happy for some reason. She hates not happy people. Such a downer on things. "Is this boyfriend the person you were supposed to meet here?"
Finishing off the last of her drink, Rayne puts it back down and lifts her hand slightly for another one. As she waits she looks back towards the guy beside her and cant help but give a little grin towards his way. His hesitation on his last question gave her all she needed to know on what he was thinking. "The thing that popped into your head when I said clients was escort wasn't it?"

Right, well with three down and only four left, the odds were better, but still not favorable. Really the four in front of her should have just ran for it, seeing as they saw their friends just get pushed around behind her, but drug addicts and drunks were never known to make smart decisions. They charged instead of leaving. Two for her and two for the person behind her. Even better odds.
Rayne flicked her eyes towards the two that ran past her quickly to make sure that they didn't double back to get her from behind before her eyes switched over to the two in front her. One of which was swinging at a bat at her face as he was running at her. Quickly, Rayne leapt to the right and away from the bat before pushing off with her hind legs and towards the one who didn't swing at her yet. Catching him off guard was easy since he was looking at his two other friends, so she landed on his chest, using her momentum and weight to push him to the ground on his back.
Rayne had a few more seconds before the first guy was back at her since his running and swinging left him stumbling and off balance, so she pressed her claw tips to the guy on the ground, not enough to draw blood, but enough for the warning to stick and snarled in his face with only a inch or two between their noses.
Her few seconds were up and she jumped off the guy and turned to face the other one to see his face white as snow, the bat dangling in his hand. Probably realized his friend could have died there if she wanted to tear his throat out. Takes a step back to get a bit more room between them as the friend she jumped on stands up a bit shakily and turns and runs off with a stain on the front of his pants. His friend goes after him without a thought, seeing he's now outnumbered.
Watching them go for a few moments, Rayne flicks her tail when shes satisfied that they left, then turns to face the guy who came to help.

Big Teddy Doll? Rayne can't help but raise an eyebrow at that nickname that Rivka gives to the guy who came in with her, Luke. After a second though, she shrugs it off and looks at the piece that she pointed to. Back to business, besides, it wasn't her job to judge a nickname or appearance. Just to poke holes in people and ink them.
"Keep looking, I'll be back with that one in a second." Rayne turns and heads towards the back to grab what she was looking at. They don't keep the items at the front desk anymore. People had sticky fingers sometimes, leaving with more than what they paid for. After grabbing the sealed small baggie with the earing inside, Rayne comes back and places the bag on the counter. "We keep them sealed until its paid for, that way no one else is touching something that will be for you. Keep things clean." Rayne says this so that they both know that no fingers have touched the earing so it is clear of other peoples germs, but also so that Rivka knows not to open the baggie until she pays for it.
"Is this the earing you want?" She did give her time to check out the book and with a glance at the clock on the monitor on the desk, she knows that her client is going to come in within a half hour. Rayne didn't want to rush her, but she also didn't want to keep one of them waiting. Plus, Rivka didn't have that flight look in her eyes or body language anymore, best to use the distraction while she can.

By the look of the guys surrounding her, they are part of the homeless group but seem to be the muscle or the stupid of them. Probably trying to gain something for the others by taking out the ghost that they all say haunt the back alleys at night. Really, right now though, it doesn't matter why they are surrounding her, only that she needs to get out and fast. Rayne doesn't want to seriously hurt anyone but if they don't back off in the end, she'll have no choice.
Rayne had her back to the group of three seeing as the group of four was more dangerous, more hands and more long objects with them, so she didn't see the guy coming up behind the others, charging them, but she did hear him. Still she didn't take her eyes off the four in front of her, tail flicking in agitation and a growl coming from deep in her chest. They haven't attacked yet since their eyes were now on what was happening behind her. Really, she should turn some to see what was going on, who the new threat was, but she could hear that they managed to take out the group behind her so she was hoping that the person wasn't going to be a problem.
Rayne was proven right, well she hopes, when the person speaks behind her about illegal hunting in the city for an endangered animal. Exotic, sure she was, both like this and human. Apparently accents make you exotic to others. With a flick of her ears, Rayne gets her thoughts back on target. Trying not to get hit with something.

It was such a great night. Not too warm or humid and also not to windy to make it chilly either. No, tonight was the perfect night out to run. Bonus fact, there was no moon either so the light didn't shine down and make every shadow lighter. Seeing as how she was in her Snow Leopard form, the darkness helped not make her white fur shine bright or be spotted as easily. Rayne had already been out on her run for a good while so she was on her way back home. She did have work tomorrow and did need to sleep off the run, luckily she didn't burn energy as fast with the forms she has known for a while and this was her first form years ago.
Coming from the park Rayne makes her way through the shadows of the side streets, making sure to stay away from populated areas, not that people are out at this time of night, 3am. Well at least she hasn't seen many people out this late, which is why she usually sticks to the shadows and side streets. if someone does see her, its usually a drug addict or even someone homeless and so far they just call her a ghost. Today was her unlucky day. It wasn't drug addicts or homeless that saw her.
Rayne had to stop in her tracks down an ally way when she spotted a group of four guys with long objects in their hands, baseball bats or metal pipes she doesn't know, standing at the entrance blocking her way through. It looked like they were waiting for her which was confirmed when two of them clapped each others hands once with a grin, though they didn't move towards her yet. Rayne flicked her tail in annoyance at the delay before turning to take off back the way she came only to see three other guys standing there. Well this is going to suck, Rayne thought as she let out a growl in warning to leave.

Raynes eyes flick towards Luke then back towards the mastiff dog as he stares down Luke and lets out a bark. Yeah, it seems to be ignoring her and focusing on Luke, which is understandable to many. Luke's mutation is canine, while hers is hidden but still animal. It makes sense how the beast dog in front of them would focus on Luke and not her, though right now she really wished she had her next form already. The bear would be a great asset to this situation.
Rayne is going to assume that his question to her was going to be what was she doing here, but she doesn't respond to his unfinished question since his attention has been taken to the other mutant. She assumes its a mutant based on its size. Unless its really just some overgrown massive feral dog, which she highly doubts.
When Luke barks out a sudden 'Hey' at her, Rayne flicks her eyes towards him quickly, almost startled like, but mostly a reaction base. Grabs at the cellphone that is tossed at her, having to take a step to the side. Call the X-Men? Yeah a problem with that is she doesn't know their number. "I don't know the X-Men's number! Best I got is 911." Rayne says this right before he leaps for the other mutant. This doesn't look like it will end well.

At his words of saying his bar was a friendly place to be, Rayne can't help but smile slightly at that. Seems they heard the same thing from different people. "I heard that as well. Among other things." Takes a sip of her drink, eyes flicking around to everyone before back to the guy beside her. "I heard about this place from a client of mine, who did you hear it from?" Rayne doesn't really do much besides work and stay at home. Just hasn't had anyone to really hang out with and besides, shes usually busy drawing out a clients extremely detailed tattoo they want. That or she is studying up on her next form or practicing the ones she already has.

Based on the girls reaction to her question of whether or not she brought her own earing said everything she needed to say and reached for the binder that held pictures of the earrings they held so she could pick one out. Placing it on the counter, Rayne opens it up and pushes it at the girl slightly. "Take a look."
When she asks for topaz and not expensive, Rayne doesn't say anything or help her search. It wasn't her job to pick an earring out for her, it was her job to poke her with it. Her and the client have different tastes and Rayne has learned to not help them with that until they have a few selections because it wasn't going in her body, but the clients. "My name is Rayne. Is there any that you like so far?"
