The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

Henri would either have to be attacked or very threatened to get in a fight with someone. I know Ahorta would be pretty easy to get in a fight with, but I'm not sure what Kealey would have to do to upset Henrietta. I'm sure we could think of something. It could be a thread with all 3 girls too, which might make getting into a fight easier. Let me know if anything sounds good to you.
I'd love to get Henrietta into a situation that could end badly. She's only had two threads with fighting in them and I'd really like to get her more experience.
Whether it's a mutant, human, or adapted...would someone mind getting in a fight with Henri for me?
Please message me or post a response here. Thanks for your time!
Henrietta listened to Amber as she was told about her family. She said she didn’t know either of her parents. The brunette looked down, ashamed that she complained about not knowing her father, but at the same time she felt like she didn’t have any parents at all. It seemed stupid since she actually knew her mother. It felt selfish to want her dad too, but she did.
Even with her mother, it had been lonely and things only got worse when Henri’s mutation made itself known. “My mother and I haven’t spoken for about 10 months. She never calls.” The girl twiddled her thumbs and felt like she may cry. She hadn’t cried in front of anyone except Van and Twyla since she had arrived and none of it had been about her parents. She only did that when she was alone and trying to fall asleep.
The girl rubbed at one of her eyes and then looked back at Amber. She managed to hold back tears and smiled and waved her hand in a way as if to say, ‘no worries’. “You don’t ever have to show me if it hurts. I don’t want you to be in pain just so I can get a peek at your powers.” Henri tilted her head slightly to the left and grinned widely. “You lose your clothes? That sucks. I don’t really have that problem, obviously.” Her hair wiggled again. “See? Clothes are still intact.” She laughed.
When the girl returned Henri’s kind words, the brunette smiled at her. She seemed to be less tense, which would be good if they were to live together and share a room. It made her happy to see and Henrietta leaned back so she was in a half-laying, half-sitting position. It was more comfortable that way and she also looked more relaxed. Seeming relaxed around nervous people was usually a good plan.
A homeless shelter? So it was kind of like Mansion, but not in a school form. The 17-year-old nodded knowingly so that Amber knew her point had gotten across. “That’s very cool. Your dad must be a really good guy.” Henri glanced down at the phone in her hand and flipped it open and closed. “I’ve never met my dad. My mom and I lived together in Springfield, Illinois. I’m not even sure what his name is or what he looks like. Mom gets weird when I ask about him, so I usually avoid that topic.” She looked up at her roommate and grinned, realizing she had gotten serious for a moment.
Amber loved Henrietta’s hair trick. The brunette laughed and her hair went back to being seemingly normal. “Thanks a lot. It’s different, that’s for sure. I’ve never seen anything like it. It makes me feel special.” The other girl told Henri about her mutation and the girl’s jaw dropped. “Well, that’s waaaaay cooler than moving hair! That’s not comparable at all.” She laughed once more and sat straight up. “You don’t have to show me if it’s difficult. I’m sure I’ll see it eventually.”
Henrietta smiled as Twyla told them about her knew couch and curtains. She was moving into a New York apartment. That was great because the psychologist had missed the other woman very much. She also thought that Elle could get closer to her god-mother. Henri grinned when her friend asked what brought her there.
The brunette took a sip of coffee and then brought the cup back down. “Well, I like getting Murielle out so she can talk and open up a little more. Kindergarten is rough on her. She won’t talk to anyone, so I thought I’d set her up on a play date with those three other little trouble-makers.” Henri laughed and glanced to Gawain.
“Leave her here? You mean for a few hours?” Her right index finger came to her chin and tapped it thoughtfully. “Hmm. I’m not really sure. I guess I haven’t gotten to talk and spend time with Van for a while. That might be nice, but I don’t want to burden you with another little one to watch. I know they can be quite a handful, though Elle is pretty well behaved.” She rolled her blue eyes. “Lucky for me, her father’s bad behavior isn’t rubbing off on her.” Henrietta flashed her two friends a smile.
The other girl looked at the floor and stuttered as she explained her situation. A few moments earlier, she had received a smile, which was a good sign that the brunette hadn’t scared her. And if she had at all, it hadn’t been enough to make her run away. Amber told Henrietta that she lived at the Sanctuary. The older girl tilted her head slightly to the side, trying to think if she had heard of it before. After a second, she shook her head and smiled. “Well, come in anyway. It’s nice to meet you.”
Leaving the door open, Henri perched on the edge of her bed. The cell phone was clutched in her hand now. “So, what’s this Sanctuary place? I don’t think I’ve ever heard of it.” The brunette couldn’t help but notice the girl’s paleness and black eyes. She didn’t stare in a way that was obvious, but looked at her in an attempt to hold a conversation. She was used to seeing so many different mutations, that something such as hers didn’t startle her too badly.
The girl’s hair rose into the air, to show Amber what her mutation was. “I guess you could say I’m a hair manipulator.” Henrietta smirked as a few strands waved to her new roommate. “It’s a very seemingly random ability. For the longest time I wasn’t quite sure what use it was, but I’ve gradually learned that it isn’t normal hair, besides the fact that it can move around.” With a smile, the girl motioned for Amber to come in.
The girl before her stuttered and seemed to be very nervous. Henrietta’s smile widened in an attempt to make her more comfortable. She tugged the door open wider and gestured for her to come in. “A roommate, huh? I had no idea I was getting one, but that’s great. I get lonely when my friend across the hall is gone, so it’d be nice to have someone to talk to.”
The brunette felt bad that she was so scared because Henri remembered when she was always so skittish and terrified to talk to people. She introduced herself as Amber and Henri glanced out the door and looked at the floor near her, seeing if she had anything she needed help carrying. “Um, Amber, do you have any things you’d like help with? I’d be glad to help if you needed it.” She stood in the doorway, waiting to see what she needed or wanted.
Each of Van’s hands came to rest on opposite sides of her face. He made sure she was telling the trust about still being friends no matter what. It seemed he much rather have her in general, even if it wasn't as a girlfriend. Henrietta’s breath became a little shallow and she could barely make out the eyes on the boy’s face. Her own face felt very hot and her cheeks were red. There was no need to see her reflection, she just knew it.
For a moment, Henri sat quietly with her head practically pressed against his. “Van, I want to be your friend no matter what and I will be. I promise. I don’t want to lose someone just because I dated them.” She took a deep breath. “And because it’s you, I really, truly mean it. You're a very cool guy and if we can only be friends, that's fine too.” The brunette closed her eyes and listened to the silence between the talking. It wasn’t awkward for her, but she wondered if Van felt the same way. She hoped that she wasn't making him uncomfortable.
Light appeared and made the girl flinch and throw her hand across her eyes. A startled gasp escaped her as she slowly brought her hand back down. Henrietta slowly stood up. She had forgotten how bright light was. Going without it for so long had made her eyes become used to the dark. She wasn’t able to see in the darkness of course, but it had become the norm. Her blue eyes wandered toward her teacher as she wondered what he was thinking. All that could go through the girl’s mind currently was the idea of light. It was so amazing and wonderful.
As she stared in wonder, Henri heard Mr. Stein’s voice. He asked her something. It was a German something. The brunette tilted her head slightly and bit her lip. Weltshmerz? She wasn’t quite sure what it was, but it did sound familiar somehow, as if she had heard her grandfather say it once before. He spoke German, which she had mentioned if she remembered correctly. Henrietta listened to the rest of what he had to say. He said the other thing was a quest, though he didn’t tell her what the quest was.
“What’s the quest?” The girl blurted the question suddenly, even after he had dismissed her. She wanted to know what she was supposed to do, so she could do it correctly. Henrietta blushed slightly fromher spouting. “Uh, I’m sorry, but I just want to know what you expect of me. I really appreciate your patience and work with me. It would be great if I could make you a proud teacher.”
She walked to the door and looked at him a minute, wondering if he would answer, but guessed that he wanted her to do this all herself. Henri sighed slightly and then smiled. “I’ll see you later then, Mr. Stein. Thank you.” The girl opened the door and walked out. She let out an even heavier sigh once out in the hallway. It was stressful. Very stressful. She was so afraid he would get mad. He seemed like someone not to anger. He seemed so cold, and it made her nervous.
Weltshmerz? Hmm… Well, he said that those two things he assigned me would help deduce something about him. He seems like a very sad person. I’ll have to look it up somewhere. Maybe it has to do with sadness or struggling in life. Germans do have a word for everything. That may be it. With a shrug, she made her way outside and began her journey home.
Henrietta smiled a ‘thanks’ to her best friend and watched as both Twyla and Gawain went off to dance. The brunette turned to Van and raised an eyebrow. She wondered what he did to tick Mirror off. He was pretty nice and accepting, but not so much of her boyfriend. Henri stared at her boyfriend for a moment, thinking of all the reasons they could not be getting along. A small sigh escaped her lips as she noticed his humming. After a moment though, she smiled. “Hey. Van--?” She looked at him, waiting for a sign that he was listening.
When she thought he was, she gave him a sympathetic smile. “I’m sorry. I’m sure this is really weird and awkward for you.” She glanced at her dancing friends for a moment. Turning back to Van, she sighed. “They’re nice people, I promise. They’re just a little protective and worried about me. Gawain is a good guy. He drinks, so you have that in common.” She elbowed him lightly with a smirk on her face. “I guess I would just appreciate if you tried to like them. I know they started the mean, but Twyla and I talked. She’s going to talk to Gawain for me. I could practically feel the tension when I came back out here.” Another eyebrow raise. “What happened anyway?”
Listening to the slow song that was playing, she grabbed Van’s arm. “Hey, you should tell me what happened while we dance.” Henri grinned at her boyfriend, slightly tugging on him. “It’ll be fun. I’ll even let you lead.” She laughed and swayed her hips back and forth. “And if slow dancing isn’t your thing, I’ll even let you do that mosh-pit thing a little.” Her bottom lip jutted out playfully as she batted her eyelashes. “Please? For me?” The girl glanced at Ruby, remembering that they had been talking. “Hey, Ruby. Would you mind if I dance with Van for a few minutes? We’ll be back pretty quick.”
The brunette smiled crookedly. “Just because you’re considered identical, doesn’t mean you look exactly the same. I went to school with identical twins back in Springfield. A couple of girls. They did look similar, but not too much. Most people could tell them apart." Henrietta spun around on her stool once again and listened as Kai told her that he felt like he missed his calling at the circus. She smirked. “Well, I’m sure there will be time to realize that dream in the future.”
An apple was passed to the girl and she caught it. Henri lifted an eyebrow as she looked down at the dented fruit. Looking back on the boy, she hopped off the stool. “All right. Help me out then. What do I do? Especially considering the fact that you need more than one thing to juggle, right?” The brunette tilted her head slightly to one side as she inspected the marks on the apple.
A knock came at the door and Henrietta spun around to look at it. She blinked and tilted her head to the side. Walking over to the door, she grabbed the handle. For a moment, the brunette just stood there. Her mind kept wandering and even now thoughts of the Kabal swam in her mind. What if it was one of them? Was there a way they could get into the Mansion in the first place? For some reason, Henri’s hand began to shake a little. It’s not like they’d hurt her. She was a member, right? Slowly she turned the handle.
When the door swung open, someone in robes stood before her. It was a girl who couldn’t have been much younger than her, though she was even paler than Henri. The girl’s eyes had large rings around them, and the brunette wondered how she got them. Was she just sleepy? Henrietta opened her mouth, making an ‘uhhh’ noise. Her eyebrows knit together in confusion. She had never seen the girl around before.
After a few delayed seconds, a smile spread across the girl’s freckled face. “Hello there. I’m sorry. Excuse my rudeness. I wasn’t trying to gawk or anything.” The brunette glanced down at her pajamas and then felt a blush appear on her cheeks. “I’m Henrietta Braun, who might you be? Is there something I can do for you?”
