The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

Downstairs the boys were having a meeting. A discussion on threats to their empire and how they should handle them. They were just going over what local thugs were pushing up on their turf and how they could get them to back down. Some of the big shots were in the room. Dream and Artair had stumbled upon something bigger than they had intended. Had they been cops this could have been a major bust. But they were dealing their own secret brand of justice tonight.
Back in the safety of her room Kendra was fast asleep. She rolled around under the weight of her dream experiences. The heart rate in her sleeping body began to climb as her astral form's adrenaline raised. It caused her body to toss and turn restlessly. Her sleeping body covered in a light layer of sweat from her night's dreaming adventure.
Dream could hear someone investigating the noise on the stairs. She quickly headed back up and ducked into a little bathroom. She kept the door cracked. Peering out into the hall she held her breathe. She didn't know where Artair was. She didn't know if had had even entered the house yet, but she couldn't depend on him right now. This was her problem.
The man walked through the carpeted halls. His soft footsteps were hard to track. They were quiet and muted with his light step. She looked beside her and could see her reflection in the bathroom mirror. It was slightly translucent and covered in a pink glow. She stared at it a moment. She noticed the wild crazy excitement shimmering in her eyes. The fact that she was a bundle of nerves didn't change the fact that she was smiling and quite big. The smile slowly faded from her face.
Her body back in her room had settled into a more peaceful rest. Her muslces relaxed and her breathing steadied out. Her mind began to calm in these few quiet moments in the bathroom. Her body back in her room sunk into the comforter and a peaceful smile spread across her lips. A peaceful smile spread across the lips of Dream in the crack house. Dream was slowly disappearing. Her mind was beginning to settle and the chemical balance inside her head was leveling out. She was no long this wild reckless persona she was simply herself.
It was the first time she would have interacted with Artair in her astral state with her own personality, but she was simply Kendra now and nothing else. She wasn't brave or courageous. She didn't mock and taunt challenges she tried her best to conquer them, but there was no overwhelming confidence. She was just a simple southern girl with her heart in the right place. Though, her lofty goals were much out of her comfort range now.
She continued to stare in the mirror as the man searched upstairs for her. She let the man slip from her thoughts for a moment. She reached a fascinated hand out to the mirror. She saw her slightly translucent form staring back at her, but the expression had changed. It was no longer cocky and self assured, but tired, scared and in a little over her head. Dream was just a part of herself. An example of what her personality could be like when her impulse control came unplugged, but that wasn't WHO she was. It was who she was trying to not be. She shared in Dream's memories. It was all happening to her after all. She knew everything that she told Artair tonight. She knew that he would be coming in after her. Only he might be expecting a little more help on her end.
I can't let him down. She thought. I can't let him get hurt. This was my idea. She had asked for this favor. She was the one that wanted to take down this drain on the community. It wasn't about revenge for one of the mansion students. It was about putting an end to the poison flooding the streets. This was going to make a difference in so many lives. Kendra peered out into the hall and took a deep breathe. Dream would have been out there taking that guy out. Kendra didn't have the courage so she hid in the bathroom trying to be quiet as possible. How the heck Am'I gone get through this? She wondered and gave herself another unsure look in the mirror.

The walls seemed to dance and shake. Something was happening outside. Her eyes moved to false Geo but he looked just as confused as her as to what it could be. She figured the mutants were going to start using their powers to get them. That could mean one could melt the walls of the building with laser vision or tear the earth in half. She had no real sense of the depth of their abilities. She pulled Geo deeper into the haunted house ride.
Inside as a macabre example of humanity. Twisted and fowl. The whole ride seemed to be based around evolution, and twisted into a scary construct. She didn't catch the name of the ride, she was to panicked. The ride was called 'The mutant experience'. It was designed to give humans who entered it a terrifying look into what some mutants go through. The experiments, the constant fear. Sort of an empathy thing, but it was full of cheap scared and designed to evoke a modicum of thought on the perils of mutants. Daydream saw the tracks ahead. False Geo climbed into the cart and pulled the lever. Daydream not wanting to be left behind climbed in too. "Let's just ride the dam thing. Better than wandering through the dark looking for an exit." False Geo suggested.
As they pushed through the darkness Daydream could here heckling laughter echoing in the darkness. As the moved past a display the scene before them lit up in a hellish red glow. She saw a mutant with a long tail and horns strapped to a table. A glazed over dead fish look in his eye as his head rested flat on the table staring at her. She was sure it was a mannequin a prop, but it looked so real. She didn't want to investigate further. The mutant strapped to the table was cut open. His guts spilling out of the side while a man in a lab coat stood frozen. An obvious dummy. The lab coat man was holding the mutant's heart in some tongs and holding it over a pot that was leaking dry ice. A voice rang out in the dark. "Mutants have to hide. Some mutants just by their mere appearance can be bastardized to the point where they are taking away for the claim of public safety. Here they re experimented on and that is where the true horror begins HAHAHAHAH." The creepy voice gleefully proclaimed. Daydream winced and turned away from the horrible sight. She couldn't move any faster than the cart would allow and she was stuck watching this nightmare horror fest. Even though it was turning her stomach already.
Cerberus was pulling and tugging. It was trying to free it's massive paw. It began to bark in growl in frustration of it's plight as Geo slowly stalked it's master. Stalked him in similar way that Cerberus had stalked Geo. Geo looked angry. He sounded angry. Yet Gavin's grin grew wider. He had a tattoo of angel wings on his back. The ink softened as he stood there and then feathers began to poke out of his back. A few at first, until seconds later arch angel wings gloriously erupted from his back! Gavin spread his wings and they were as long s the griffin's. A few might flaps and he took flight from the ground. His white pants staind with left over ink and the remnants of blood. "YOUR SANDBOX? HAHAHAHAHAHAHA I'M SURE YOU THINK THAT SON..... BUT HERE'S THE SKINNY! THERE AINT A THINK THAT HAPPENS UNDER THIS TENT THT I DON'T CONTROL." Just then two things happened. A voice soft and sweet, familiar rang out in the stillness of the moment. It was Geo's sister. She was standing on the frozen grown. The wind whipping round her long black hair. Her pale skin almost seemed to glow blue like the ground. Soft and fair.
Just at that moment Cerberus freed itself. Gavin's wings flapped and he zoomed around the circus tent at high speeds. He looked like a heavenly bullet the pale blue of the tent casting him in the role of ghostly specture shrierking with laughter. Cerberus heard the voice of the girl and came charging at her. She was only a few feet away from Cerberus. A few feet away from Geo. She reached out a slender tattooed hand for her brother. She had found him. After all this time she had...... She was snatched from where she stood. Ripped up by a massive set of jaws that clamped down around her arm outstretched reaching for the lost elemental. Cerberus picked her up her arm and shook her viciously. "Trisssssten!!!!!" She cried in pain as the three heads fought over her and tore her apart.
The cart moved down the bumpy track slowly. Torturously slow. Daydream only hoped that the exit was coming up soon. The light shined on the next little display. It was a large tent. It was Gavin Sinclair's circus itself. "Some mutants find work in many different ways. Some of us choose to perform. To become stars under the big top! Bringing smiles to the faces of human instead of striking fear into their hearts." Daydream rolled her eyes. False Geo sighed. "He serious with this shit Daydream?" It caught her attention for a moment. He kept calling her Daydream. Not Kendra. She had expected him to call her Kendra after their passionate night together. She thought they had gained a closenss. Hell, he wasn't even calling her Dreamboat. It was just odd. She quickly forgot about it as a dummy jump scared them popping out of the tent and screaming at them. "GAVIN SINCLAIR'S CIRCUS IS AMAZING!!!!" The dummy dressed like a clown said before laughing it's head off. "Just get me outta this hellhole." Daydream sighed.
Gavin swooped back down behind Geo. As he flew he had pulled a tattoo of a knife from the skin of his forearm. Gavin swooped past Geo several times in quick succession slicing at him. Each passby he could hear Gavin laughing almost in his ear as he zipped by. Gavin swooped back in front of Geo and seemed to hover there a bit. He licked Geo's blood off the blade of his knife, before pressing the blade against his forearm and letting the ink reabsorb. It became a tattoo once again. Cerberus was still chewing on the bones of an illusion. "YOU KNOW WHEN YOU PLAY IN THE SANDBOX YOU GOTTA WATCH OUT FOR SPIDERS DONT YA?" Gavin held out his arms and the ink on his ribs dripped from him. His eyes glowing bright green his body cast in a haunting blue glow. The ink rained from the sky and formed on it's way down. It took shape as it poured from Gavin's body and became a giant Tarantula. It's many eyes staring at Geo. Cerberus finished with Geo's sister nd turned it's attention to the young elemental. The spider and the hell hound approached him each from a different side trying to box him in. All the while Gavin flew in the spotlight still shining on him and laughed his head off.

Dream found herself upstairs. The walls seemed to dance and move with lingering shadows cast by the passing cars' headlights on the street below. The place for all intents and purposes seemed empty. Not at all what she was expecting. She found herself in an empty room. Pausing to listen to the house she heard nothing. Absolutely nothing at all. Where is everyone? She wondered as she tightened her nervous grip on her baton.
Dream moved through the room quiet as she could. She wasn't graceful or at all stealthy. In fact she was quiet clumsy and inattentive naturally. Though in her current state of mind she was just reckless and care free. Still, it helped to be smart so she moved at a slow pace. A car passed on the street below sending a shadow streaking across the wall in front of her. Dream froze lifting her baton ready to strike. Only it was just a shadow.
This was the right place. Her info was good. There was a guard standing outside. She had seen a few other guards roaming the grounds of the place like clockwork. It wasn't small house by any means. Not many million dollar homes being used as a crack house / cook house, but this one fell to that very specific criteria. Though this time of night some less than reputable characters populated the streets. Dream moved quietly down the hall. Her heavy boots causing muted foot falls against the soft plush carpet. Beneath the quieting rug there was smallest of squeaks. Her weight screaming against the floorboards; causing them to wail and cry. Every creak caused her to flinch and bite her lip.
Suddenly a bedroom door opened to her right. Dream didn't think or hesitate. She shoved the metal bar of the police baton against his throat and shoved him back. Gripping the baton at either end she beared her weight on it shoving the bar into his throat and driving him to the wall. She was surprisingly strong for her size when she was worked up and angry. Her brown eyes furiously dancing over the startled features of the supposed drug pusher. "What the F*ck!" He cried out beneath the weight of a crushed trachea.
Dream let go of the baton. with one hand and the man relaxed and gasped for breath. She swung the baton hard into his knee cap. He let out a surprised cry. He didn't see anyone in front of him, he had no clue what the hell was happening. He started to scream but she shoved her hand over his mouth. He could feel the warmth of her flesh against his trembling lips. She pointed the baton into the man's chest. "I gotta gun on you now. Don't scream, don'tchu lie to me. Are yall cook'n drugs here???" The man started to speak but it was muffled through her hand. "Don'tchu speak just nod." He nodded to her question. His eyes darting around desperately trying to find the source of his situation.
Dream smiled. Now we're getting somewhere. She thought. Her voice was low and rough. A bit scratchy with that sweet southern undertone that made her poisonous bitter words taste a little sweeter. "How many of em are there?" Dream asked. Her lips were slightly parted. She was holding her breathe waiting for the information. Apparently however, he decided to grow a backbone. "More than you can handle b*tch!" He spit at her when she uncovered his mouth. Dream placed her hand on the side of his head like she was palming a basketball and shoved it hard into the dresser he was standing beside. His head bounced off the corner of the dresser and he slumped to the floor. She looked at him for a moment. A thin line of blood ran down the side of his face, but he was still breathing. Not that he deserved it. She thought.
Moving out of the room quickly she came to a set of stairs. It was dark upstairs but there were many more lights on down stairs. She could hear voices as she crept closer. Laughter even. The laughter in the crack house made her jaw clinch. She could feel the anger swelling up inside her. She started to head downstairs. She didn't like to teleport when she didn't know where she was going, so she tried to keep that as limited as possible. She made her way down the stairs when her boot made a loud creak. She froze. "You hear something? Bobby go check it out." She heard someone say. Dam! She was going to have to deal with that....
Dream smiled at her sudden change of heart. Grabbing Xavia by the wrist she teleported until she found themselves outside the creeps house. They were standing on the front lawn now. Dream was still invisible to the world. Son of bitch. Dream thought as she sat the guy in front of a window. He was sitting in a chair drinking scotch and watching the Knicks game. His wife or whoever brought him another drink. The man barely acknowledged her, he was so glued to the game on tv.
This was the guy? This asshole? She was trying to conjure up any feelings of sympathy for what they were about to do. Dream grabbed Xavia and teleported her around the side of the house so that they were in the shadows. Then, she teleported back in front of the large window. A vindictive smirk spread across her face as she tellported inside. "CAMELO ANOTHONY DRAINS THE THREE POINT SHOT ND THE KNICKS ARE NOW UP BY 2! 56 SECONDS FOLKS THIS GAME COULE GO EITHER WAY...." The tv shouted behind her. She took a moment to admire what a scumbag this guy was before she grabbed him by the shoulders causin him to scream send his drink flying. Dream teleported himse outside where Xavia stood.
They were beside Xaiva now and Dream kneed him in the stomach just for good measure. He had no idea what was happening, but suddenly this invisible force just drove all of the air out of him. Then he looked up and saw Xavia. "You!" He cried in anger Dream had already snatched out her police baton and brought it down on the back of his neck. She kicked him in the back of his legs so he'd drop to his knees. "Tell him how what he made you feel." Dream said simply. She was serious. She wanted her to confront this scumbag and get past it. There was a mighty asskicking in store for this guy, but first she wanted her to face her attacker and summon the courage to stand up to him.

Kendra pressed the button on the camera and moved over to Leon. A few moment's later there wss a flash from the camera and they had taken a pictures. She wasn't afraid of Leon. She saw him as harmless at least to her. She knew tht he wouldn't actually hurt her on purpose, but she didn't know if his spines were still a problem or not.
Still he seemed like he didn't trust her. She didn't know how to break down his walls. They didn't seem to be getting weaker, but growing taller. She just wanted to be able to reach him. 'I'll get'cha a copy of this picture. So you can frame it and put it on ya desk." Kendra knew from being in his room that he didn't have an personal photos of friends or family. She knew tht he didn't have any connection to the world. It was something she wanted to chnge. Though she couldn't oiut right say 'hey I know you don't have pictures up in your room' fshe knew it all the same.
Kendra smiled at Leon and grabbed her camera off of the tree. The rain was already letting up. A spring shower, a light rain just before the sun began to poke out again and warm the already bad day. It wasn't so bad. Kendra was stronger than that. It would take more than a few kids trying to pick on them to really put her down, She looked carefully at Leon. Her eyes met his. Kendra wondered how much more digging she'd have to do to really get at the man behind the hurt monster.

Daydream looked around the side of the tent. It seemed as if the coast was clear for the moment. Looking back at Geo she allowed a whisper of relief tao lite her eye before realizing they weren't out of the woods. The sound of angry mutants hot shouting out "Find them! The didn't get far!" Shit shit shit. She thought as she moved around the edge of the tent. There was a panicked pace to her jilted breathing. Her heart was hammering as she grabbed Geo's hand and pulled him along behind her.
They squeezed between few tents and slunk through the shadows. The mid after noon sky had gotten darker as a few clouds rolled in and blocked out the sun. Still the added light did then no favors of not getting discovered. She didn't know why her luck was consistently bad and over all scummy. She just knew that she kept finding herself in terrible situations. Mutant life, is a hard life. One she intended to keep living as a free woman and not trapped inside some horrible freak show under the rule of a monster.
"Come on." Daydream said in a low, hush tone. She paused as few late to the party mutants ran by. She pushed her hand back holding Geo still. We gotta find that girl! She thought. She didn't want to have to ever see this place again. Daydream pulled her false companion along and made it out into the clearing. They weren't out in the open but a few seconds before they were spotted. She couldn't hear the real Geos's screams and she grabbed Handsome man's hand and dragged him behind her. What a nightmare. She thought. She was heading straight for the haunted house thrill ride.
Inside the tent. The wind swirled in a howling cry of fear. The tent almost seemed to glow blue. Ominous and petrifying. The low light and the soft blue of the frozen ground caught the light from outside in a way that draped the circus tent in a harmful forboding. Gavin stood happily watching his beastie nip at the heels of an arrogant elemental. Gavin's eyes moved from the fight to a man in the crowd.
The man was looking back at Gavin. There was a small nod shared between then before Gavin's eyes moved back to his canine subservient. "LET ME BREAK IT DOWN TO YOU SPORT! THIS HERE IS MY PLAYGROUND. MY SANDBOX! AND WHEN YOU PLAY IN MY SANDBOX...... LET'S JUST SAY I'M KING OF THE SANDCASTLE. NOW I DON'T KNOW WHAT YOU THINK IT GONE HAPPEN HERE....... Cerberus's teeth snipped the back of Geo's shirt as he ran for his life. The massive paws crunching the ground with every gallop..... "NOW I DON'T KNOW IF YOU'RE GOING TO MAKE IT SON! DAYDREAM, I'M TOLD IS DOING JUST FINE. SHE'S FITTING IN REAL NICE ALREADY. SAID THAT YOU WERE GOOD FOR A ROLL IN THE HEY BUT YOU CAN'T GIVE HER WHAT SHE NEEDS. AND THAT'S STABILITY SON!" Cerberus's saliva dripped down the back of Geo's neck as he for his life. The sound of Gavin apparently monolouging in the background helped negate the stunned silence of the room.
Inside the haunted house ride Daydream pulled Geo in after her. She slammed the heavy wooden doors behind her. Geo hadn't conjured any elemental attacks. Because false Geo could not hurl any dirt. He had Geo's appearance but not his abilities. He was playing the part. He was playing the role he was given. He was to test Daydream's descioin making skills and her ability to think on her feet. Every mutant in the circus had to fight. Mutant fights were the biggest crowd drawing money makers. An invisible girl is not much of a fighter unless she could improvise. Gavin was testing their fighting ability. Their survival instinct. He wanted each of them for his show under the big top.
Daydream slammed the doors shut and began to block them. False Geo helped her move some stuff in front of the door and they both took a step back. The doors rattled with fists and thuds, but they didn't get in the door. At least they couldn't get in. "Come on let's find our way outta this freak show!" Daydream insisted, without ever taking her eyes off the rattling door. She wasn't super thrilled about going through a spooky thrill ride in this horrible place, but she wanted to get out. She could teleport but she didn't know where she was going so that was going to be useless. Daydream grabbed false Geo's hand and dragged him through the dark. "Slow down Daydream." False Geo griped as he willingly and happily followed her into the haunted house.
Back in the tent Gavin watched his monster. It had a mind of it's own, though it followed Gavin's command. Gavin gave it vocal orders, but the thing was sentient and clever. It wouldn't just blindly run in circles forever. The great beast cut right and cut the circle Geo was running in half. It slid across the frozen ground without loosing it's balance. It looked like a hockey player racing up to the glass barrier and sliding to a stop gracefully. The beasts massive black body a hulking barely visible presence in the deathly blue ice circus.
The only thing that was easily seen on the thing was three pairs of blazing red eyes. And the fowl breath that threatened to swim down your throat and choke you. "MY MONSTERS ARE THE LAW IN THIS TENT! YOU REALLY THINK YOU CAN DANCE WITH GODS AND NOT STEP ON YOUR OWN FEET?? IT'S A SHAME YOUR GOING TO DIE BOY. I WOULD HAVE LOVED TO INVITE YOU TO DAYDREAM'S OPENING ACT AT GAVIN SINCLAIR'S CIRCUS OF WONDERS!" Gavin laughed as his great terrible three headed beastie began to slowly stalk him again cutting off his retreat. Each footstep was lingering death looming a little closer. Each panicked breath was inviting in it's stench and solidifying it's terror. CRUNCH! CRUNCH! CRUNCH! The beast grew nearer to Geo.....

Kendra didn't have time to dodge the punch. It would have connected if not for the noise that caught their attention. Kendra looked up. Her brown eyes searched the canopy for some terrible sight. She didn't see one. All she saw was the monkeys in the trees dash off. Scared by some unseen thing tht lurked somewhere within the danger room. Kendra remembered how much trouble the last danger room session was. She had seen the things that could happen in here. Her eyes snapped to some rustling shrubs as Juliette asked her to knock herself out. Kendra looked at whatever creature had cut through the shrubs and escaped a moment longer before nodding. This is going to be tough. She thought as she grabbed the gun from her holster.
Kendra pressed the gun flat against her thigh and pulled the trigger. The dart didn't take but a few seconds to kick in. She felt her vision swimming and the world begin to cartwheel in on itself. She stumbled and leaned against a tree and slumped down it on her back. Kendra's red hair leaving a messy trail of gorgeous fire running up the bark of the tree. She was getting drozy now as her eyes lazily rolled over to another roar. Somewhere fictionistic men hunted a fictionistic tiger. Kendra slowly slipped the tranquilizer gun back in the holster under her arm. Looking back at Juliette she offered her a weak smile. "Now.... I'm gone look dead for real, just don't freak out. I'm only napp'n." Kendra's eyes fell closed, to heavy to hold up anymore and she began to dream......
Standing outside of her body she could still feel the warmth of the room. It was hot. It very much felt like a sticky humid jungle. She looked down over her body. Her neck was craned in an uncomfortable angle against the tree. Her hands sat awkwardly in her lap, limp rags. Her hair was a beautiful expolosion of chaos. She looked like a car wreck victim that was expelled from the windshield at a tree. Her mouth hung awkwardly open as her chest gave a slight rise and fall to indicate she was in fact not dead. It always weirded her out to see how she looked standing outside her body. It gave her the creeps.
Daydream could feel the drugs of the tranquilizer dart coursing through her. It was making her have a slight head ache, but she didn't feel to groggy. Things were always duller in her astral form. She didn't feel as much pain or sensation she felt just enough to know there was some. Dream looked over at Juliette. "I'm here. Let's do this. can you sense light?" Daydream asked leaning over to grab her bag. She pulled a flashlight out and clicked it on; sliding it down into the loop of her pants. She didn't know if she could sense where she was at by sensing the amount of light in the room, but that would be dam cool if she could!
Daydream reached down pulling out her police baton and flicked her wrist. The soft metallic snick cut through the silence. Daydream looked up to meet Juliette's gaze. She knew how dangerous the danger room was. Her little trip through a metal maze had taught her that in her last danger room sesson. She had survived it though. And she could survive this. She was more worried about being a liability to a partner who could not see her. Someone who might need them to not get hurt in the danger room. It was going to be tricky. Daydream took a few soft steps up beside Juliette waiting for her to answer. She hoped light sensing fell within the range of Juliette's talents.

Dream stood there. She couldn't think. She couldn't move. Every single muscle in her body was tense and burning. What the absolute hell?!?!? Everything they had seen before this moment was childsplay compared to what they faced now. Dream stared up at a massive dragon. She could feel the wind from it's breath as it emerged from the darkness. The terrifying roar cutting the silence of her bewildered disquiet. Dream was usually cocky and eager for a fight. Even she with her lack of inhibition and general risky behavior thought twice. She took a step backwards.
"Um..... Did you know this guy was waitin for us?" She asked. There was a slight shaky nature to Dream's usually overconfident voice. She had an ax in her hand. A freaking hand ax. She was supposed to fight a dragon. What the hell am I gone do? She thought as she took in it's shear size.
The sound of the music blarring around the room did little to amp her up. It only provided a soundtrack to what could possibly be her death. She had to remind herself it was only a simulation as the dragon took a large looming step forward. Dream looked at Becca and saw that she was raising her sword and grinning. She was god dam grinning. That lit a fire in Dream. Her head snapped back towards the dragon. She didn't know what it was capable of, other than complete annihilation but she tightened her grip on her ax. "Screw it. Let's crave'em up." She said. The confidence was flowing back. Her voice was less steady and more determined. She was going to finish this. She was going to survive the danger room.
Back in her bed Kendra's body restlessly tossed and turned beneath her sheets. She rolled over on her side, comfy in her bed. It wasn't long before her arm she was laying on began to fall asleep from the weight of her body on it. This caused that numbing tingling feeling to spread through dream's arm. The arm holding the ax. Dream switched hands with her weapon and shook out here hand trying to get it to stop. Dam! She could feel weight on her shoulder. It was the weight of her sleeping body somewhere in room 206. "Roll over you asshole!" She looked up and shouted, seemingly to no one. Her annoyed venting caught the dragon's attention and it spotted the floating ax.
The dragon swooped in flying around the massive room. The pitch of the frenzied music ramped up right as it's snapping jaws bit down where Dream had been standing. Dream couldn't believe how fast it moved. It was on her in the blink of an eye. Dream teleported away at the very last moment. She teleported up near the ceiling by a wall. Her feet planted on the wall and she pushed herself off. Dream's body sailing towards the floor she teleported again in mid air. She teleported so that she was behind the dragon who was swooping around for another passby.
The dragon wasn't so much interested in Becca for the moment. It was determined to get the invisible girl. Dream didn't think her small ax was going to do much damage against it's hardened scales so she tossed it aside. The ax hit the floor with a clatter and she readied herself to dodge. She teleported back against the wall. Her back right against the hard cool surface. "OVER HERE YOU OVERSIZED TURTLE!" She taunted. It wasn't much of an insult, but she was more trying to get it's attention than hurt it's little feelings. I gotta time this perfect. She thought. She kept shouting at the dragon as it flew closer and closer. "YEAH! COME GET'CHUR DINER WHILE IT'S STILL HOT!" Then she teleported out of the way at the last second. The pitifully AI'ed creature slammed head first into the wall. The stone wall buckled and crumbled in a massive quake. One of it's two heads connected with the wall the other had averted the collision.
There was a dragon head sized indent in the hardened stone. Dream was smiling like an idiot. The smile quickly faded however when she saw that the dragon shook this off rather easily. "Mother flip!" She cried out in exasperation. Her shoulder's slumped at as the great beast turned to her with one of it's heads and a steady stream of ice came barreling out of it's screaming open mouth. Dream's eyes went wide as the blizzard breath traveled fast threatening to engulf her.

Moving back over to where he stood she looked at the crackhouse. Dream reached back and tied her hack back into a ponytail. She listened as he laid down the ground rules. Rules?!? Those are such a drag! She thought as she shifted her weight onto her left foot and leaned against the wall. To bad he couldn't see her.
He would know she was staring daggers at him. Dream quietly wondered if people could feel her eyes on them while she was invisible. It was something she never considered. "Fine. You have my word. If you do something stupid and get'churself caught, I won't lift a fanger to help ya. But'chu don't gotta worry bout me honey. I can rumble with the big boys." She said as she stepped off the curb.
That wasn't so bad. She was planning on leaving his ass hanging anyways if he got into trouble. She wasn't about to stick her neck out for someone. Not when she had a job to do. Dream didn't care about comroderay or teamwork. She simply knew that getting this job done would be simpler with help. She wasn't really two separate people. Dream and Kendra. They shared the same astral body. The same pain, memories. Only depending on her mental state her thought process and judgment varied wildly. She wasn't crazy. She just wanted some fun, and beating the piss out of crack dealing scumbags would be a rip roaring good time.
"Now here's my rules sugar. You save whoever's in charge for me. You can help me clear the way, but big boss man has to have a chat with mama we clear?" Dream reached in her pocket and pulled out her cigarettes. She lit one up and exhaled a cloud of smoke as she watched the outside sentries moving around a bit. She was trying to get a feel for what her approach would be. The cigarette was an extension of her invisible self so it acted as her clothing it remained invisible. Though, it still took up a presence in the world. Even though Artair couldn't see the cigarette the smell of it could be noticed. The heavy smell of delicious tabaccoo filled the empty space from where her voice rang only moments ago.
Dream only smoked it half way before flicking it away. The invisible cigarette bounced off the wall causing the very visible sparks and embers to shower off the brick. Funny how that works huh? Dream turned to Artair. "I'll head in. When you feel like stumblin through feel free to join me handsome." With that she exploded into a cloud of invisible white and red smoke. She reappeared standing beside the fat guy outside who was supposed to be standing guard. She was right behind him. She pulled out her police baton and flicked her wrist.
There was a metallic snick of the baton uncompressing itself and the man turned around to see nothing. Nothing at all as the baton crashed against the bridge of his nose. He fell backwards holding his nose and landed on his ass. He stumbled back in panic as he tried to stop the bloody stream. Dream was smirking as she slowly walked after him. She stalked him as he scurried away on his ass; walking backwards like a crab. Dream brought it down over his head in a few quick vicious swings and he himself entered the land of dreams. Looking back across the street at Artair she stopped a moment to think that he was rather cute..... Then she turned and looked at an upstairs window before teleporting herself inside.

The beast fell down dead. It's mighty wings fluttered a bit and came to rest in the dirt. Turning over on it's back it's massive chest gave a final heave before remaining motionless. Gavin stumbled backwards clutching his chest. The pain he felt coursing through him made him drop to one knee. There were holes in his chest now. Not fatal ones but wounds none the less. Across his collarbone were deep gashes. Slices in his body as if he himself had been impaled. Blood dripped from his chest as he stared at Geo with a look of righteous anger. "He killed the griffon!" A mutant in the audience cried out in shock. The circus tent was deathly quiet. Even the music seemed to stop for the momentous occasion.
No one had every killed one of Gavin's creatures before. It was honestly a surprise to even Gavin himself. He had underestimated Geo. That was his mistake. One he didn't plan on repeating. Gavin's tattoos were not just ghoulies and beasties. He could materialize ordinary objects if he had a tattoo of it. It would function as it would in real life as long as it didn't it wasn't complex machinery. He couldn't whip out a car from a tattoo and just hop in that bitch and go! But simple things, a knife for example, like the one he had tattooed on the inner side of his wrist. Or a crossbow, those things he could pull from the ink and give himself an advantage.
Suddenly the tent grew very dark. The ground beneath Geo and Gavin's feet seemed to literally freeze beneath them. Gavin smiled as he watched the layer of ice racing across the floor. A cutting wind cut through the tent though it's source was unknown. Gavin knew what was happening. Gavin's anger faded and it was replaced by confident swagger. The 3 headed dog melted from his ribs leaving the spot on his body bare. The ink dripped down, much like the blood from his chest; only the ink was running through his skin s it made it's way to the frozen earth. A growl could be heard along with scratching as a massive paw clawed it's way out of the frozen floor. The Cerberus was out for blood.
Daydream was teleporting to any place her pretty eyes fell upon. She was getting desperate. The tent had grown quiet. She didn't like that. Maybe he's already lost. She thought. No! He can't loose! She rebelled against her own mind. She refused to believe that she was the reason Geo could have possibly befallen some terrible fate. Then unexpectedly she ran right into him. She had to blink a few times to make sure she wasn't seeing things but she ran right into Geo. Dirty and barefoot and looking as ruggedly handsome as ever. "There you are Daydream! We gotta go those creeps will be coming back any minute!" Daydream allowd her mind to settle. He's alive. She thought with sudden relief, but then he said that they were hot on his trail. "How'd you get away? What happened?" She asked confused. "There's no time Daydream we have to go! Now!" The fake Geo claimed as he grabbed her wrist and began to run.
Back inside the tent winter seemed to dig in it's feet. There was snow falling fast and fierce. It was coming down like a blizzard. Gavin laughed and his breath esapced his mouth as he did so. Visible clouds of arrogant breath as he exclaimed. "You haven't won boy! The guardian of the underworld is going to send you to hell!" He was referring to the three headed dog. His boastful claim was all for show. He was testing Geo for now. In Greek mythology exit/entrance to the underworld was guarded by a great vicious 3 headed dog named Cerburus. Gain smiled as dog stood a full foot taller than a 7 foot man. It beared it's teeth at Geo and waited for it's masters orders. "Go get'em!" Gavin snapped in a low gleeful delighted tone. The dog took off running straight for Geo.
Daydream was running for her life and at first she didn't see anyone chasing them. Then she saw several mutants following her. Following them. Oh my god she thought as she grabbed Geo's wrist and began to teleport him behind a random tent. "Shhhh" She said to him holding a finger up to her mouth. She could just teleport them out of there, but not until she rescued and stopped that little girl. Otherwise Gavin and his monsters would just find them again.
Daydream knew that if she could free the girl then Gavin would have no way to track them. She had no real reason to believe this, but in her heart she knew it to be so. "We gotta find that girl Geo!" "What girl?" "The psychic! She's the key!" The fake Geo knew that no one was really chasing them. He knew that this was the plan. The fake Geo was really Handsome man. And Handsome man knew that the little girl psychic was giving his ruse credibility by making the illusion of a chase. She was also the cause for the blizzard in the tent. The blizzard did not exist really. The cold sensation, the frosty breath, the ice the wind it was all the mind coping with what the eyes were seeing. The mind is a powerful tool of deception. Even enough to make you feel cold when it's really not, enough to hopefully make an elemental think his powers are temporarily useless.
Cerburus charged at Geo and narrowly missed him as it threw it's massive body into Geo's rock wall. It crumbled under the sheer force at which Cerburus hit it. The three headed dog shook off the collision like it was nothing and refocused it's attack. Turning all three heads to look at Geo and growl at him like he was a T-bone steak. Long slimey tendrils of saliva dripped from it's massive crushing jaws.
It was going to tear him to pieces. It took a looming step towards him. No longer was it charging, but it was slowly stalking it's dinner. Every step it took there was the loud crunch of ice that could be heard in the deathly quiet arena. The mutants in the audience watched with bated breathe. Gavin watched with a great smile. "FETCH BOY! HAHAHAHAHAHA" Gavin was all but holding his ribs in laughter. Somewhere in the circus the little girl psychic was causing a whole mess of trouble for Geo and Daydream. If Gavin could kill them so easily he didn't want them in his show. This wasn't an abduction..... It was an audition. For both of them! Gavin Sinclair only had the finest curious wonders under his fantastical big top.

Daydream had teleported out of the tent. She found herself standing outside. The place was all but abandoned. Even the ticket taker booth seemed to be deserted now. That was strange. She searched the grounds. Her eyes bouncing frantically around abandoned carnival games, animal stables and food just left lying around. She could still here the creepy music from inside the tent. She was standing just outside it.
Teleporting herself rapidly she tried to find the little girl. The little girl was the key to all of this. If she could just find the little girl, she could give Geo a huge advantage. Or at the very least she could level the playing field for him. As it were the deck was already heavily stacked in Gavin's favor. But if she could just find that little girl she could eliminate her mind tricks. Daydream's hand felt the but of her tranquilizer gun in her holster. It was comforting just to know it was still hanging there. If she found her she would have to shoot her. She would knock her out and hope that she wasn't strong enough to use her mental gifts while she was still unconscious. That was Daydream's only play here....
Back inside the tent Gavin looked down on Swift's body with an obvious disappointment. Swift had failed and failed badly. He honestly shouldn't be surprised considering the last time Swift went up against Geo it earned him a trip to the hospital. Gavin had some of his mutants spring him from the ambulance and bring him back home for proper healing from a powerful healing mutant. Gavin looked over Swift who was barely conscious. Swift's eyes rolled into the back of his head and he passed out at Gavin's feet. The tent grew quiet except from the random 'oooohs' and 'ahhhhs' of the mutant audience surprised at Geo's abilities.
"Boy..... You really don't know what you're asking for. Do ya?" Gavin said walking slowly into the center of the ring. Gavin took off his top hat and tossed it aside. His piercing gaze staring bullet holes into Geo. He wasn't angry. He was amused. It wasn't often that someone challenged him. It was actually quite a nice surprise. The young elemental was all fire and brimstone but his temper was he biggest weakness. After awhile folks just came to accept life as a circus performer and for those few stubborn one like Geo there was a loyal mutant follower of Gavin's who had a very beneficial mind control. The mind control that was holding onto the feeble willed minds of almost all the mutants in the audience.
Gavin took off his white gloves to reveal heavily tattooed hands. Even down to the knuckles on his boney fingers were covered in ink. Gavin slipped off his red jacket with the flashy buckles and polished silver buttons and tossed it aside to reveal his arms were heavily tattooed as well. Tattoo's of hideous beasts and flames. Tattoos of skeletons and ghouls and creatures that could only be thought of in you most wildest of frightening nightmares. Gavin smiled and pulled his shirt over his head. Tossing it aside his entire body seemed to be covered in tattoos. His hair mussed up and set slightly to the side all sloppy messy as his shirt came off. Still he continued to smile at Geo.
The tattoo's across his collarbone was of a mighty griffion. A mythological bird who's mouth was wide open and it seemed to be spitting fire. Wild sprks of lighting flying off the tips of it's mighty wings. There was a tattoo on his ribs of a 3 headed cerburs. A hellhound who had blood dripping from it's razor sharpe teeth. A tattoo of a giant spider covered most of his other ribs and the rest of his body was a horrifying collage of terrifying creatures. Lifting the megaphone without taking his eyes from Geo Gavin spoke. "LADIES AND GENTLEMAN! GEO WOULD LIKE TO GO TOE TO TOE WITH THE RINGMASTER HIMSELF! WHO AMONG YOU WOULD LIKE TO SEE THE FIGHT OF THE CENTURY?!?!?"
The crowd erupted in exuberant cheer. Outside the tent Daydream continued to search. She could here cheering from inside the tent and it was thunderous in nature. She felt her heart sink. Geo has to be getting hurt in there! It was all she could think of. Why else would they cheer? She had to hurry. She had to find the girl to give Geo a hand. Who knows what mind games that girl could be playing with him while he tried to fight for his life. Coming to the circus had been a mistake. They both should have ran. They both should have ran for their lives when they still had the chance.
Inside the tent Gavin's smile pulled back to reveal his teeth. Sharp pointy fangs that punctuated his smile with a hint of evil. He raised his arms to his side as someone up above shined a spotlight on him. Gavin dropped the megaphone at his feet and tilted his head back. He was cast in a heavenly aura. He seemed ghostly white and pale in the light of the spotlight. With his head tilted back at the ceiling he closed his eyes as he concentrated his energy. Gavin looked back down at Geo across from his. His eyes were glowing bright green in his head now. Almost like his eyeballs were replaced by neon lights. Then the ink of the griffon tattoo on Gavin's chest began to run. It dripped off of his body while remaining in his skin. He swam down his stomach and ran over the buckle of his pants as it traveled down his leg and seeped into the dirt. Then a horrible twisted claw emerged from the dirt then a beak. The griffon tattoo that spit fire and flapped lighting from it's wings was being born from the earth.

Kendra's heart went out of Leon. Poor guy. No wonder he was so freaked out every time she tired to talk to him. Or get close to him for that matter. He must've been paranoid that something like that might happen again. Though, she hadn't really realized the risk of being close to him; she didn't really care either. Kendra allowed her hand to drop form his face as the light rain started to pick up.
Before they knew it, was a downpour. A dark foreboding example of the darkness left in the world. The world almost seemed to react to the sadness of their shared experiences and the rain was there to cleanse away the sadness. Kendra looked up at Leon and smiled a bit. She didn't really have anything to smile about except for the fact that he had finally opened up to her and it was a big step for him. She could tell that wasn't easy for him to share.
Kendra wasn't going to give up on him. She knew it would be dangerous. Especially because she had a certain proclivity for being reckless and clumsy. Not to mention the fact that she didn't always think things through before she did them. She knew it was a risk just being around Leon. A dangerous one, but she didn't care. She wouldn't leave how out in the cold to be alone. Not when she had her friendship to offer. She had felt alone for most of her life and it was one of the worst feelings she could imagine.
Kendra took a step back and leaned against the tree. She had her camera hanging from her neck. Kendra turned on the camera with her thumb. The screen lit up and came to life. "Mind if we take a picture Leon?" It was random and totally out of the blue, but she was photographer by trade and had a habit of taking pictures of people she liked. Leon was no different. He was a giant teddy bear covered in red fur and hidden beneath a layer of misplaced anger. He did that to keep people safe. What she realized was, that was an incredibly lonely road to walk down.
Kendra raised her camera a little. Not quite up to her face. She lifted the strap over her head and placed the camera in a notch hole in the tree she was leaning against. Setting it to a timer she looked back at Leon to see if she had his permission. She wanted a photo with him. She had a habit of taking pictures of her friends and Leon was most certainly one of them.

Gavin watched the swirling vortex of rocky death with a smile. He watched it like a proud papa watching his son ride a bike for the first time. Gavin's eyes followed the swirling pieces of debris. Raising the megaphone to his mouth Gavin addressed the crowd. "WELL FOLKS. LOOKS LIKE GEO CAME LOOKING FOR A FIGHT! ARE WE GOING TO DISAPPOINT HIM?!?" "NO!" Shot back the very interested crowd. Gavin tapped Swift on the shoulder and walked off to the side of the area. If he was being honest he had faith in Swift, but he wanted to see first hand what this boy Geo could do. He had intended to give his pitch, but this worked to. Geo wanted to take out a little anger. Gavin was content with letting him tire himself out.
After all, Gavin knew that if worse came to worse he could end the fight at any moment he wanted. He stood off to the side with a smug smile on this face. His arms crossed against his chest and watched on in great interest. Gavin looked over to where Daydream had been standing and offered her a little wink that Geo didn't notice, before his eyes turned to the fight that was about to happen.
Usually Gavin would like to sell tickets to this. Mutant fights were one of the more popular shows they put on. Everyone loved a good monster movie! AND GODZILLA FIGHTING KING KONG IS A GOD DAM CLASSIC! Gavin was no fool he knew the value in a good fight. If anyone got seriously hurt there was a healer on stand by. It wasn't a fight to the death it was just well.... Mutants pitting those beautiful, beautiful abilities against one another.
Daydream took a step back. She slipped back into the shadows a bit. She didn't like the feeling of standing in the spot light. She felt as if somehow everyone could see her. She felt like somehow she was only invisible to Geo and that was bad. That was very, very bad. Daydream's eyes searched the crowd for the mutant girl she had met before but she didn't see her anywhere. She had to be the reason. She had to be the reason that everyone except Geo could see where she was.
"You got lucky last time asshole." Swift said with a growing smile. He watched as the dirt around Geo seemed to spin a little faster. He didn't care that Geo looked pissed. He had a few tricks up his sleeve that Geo didn't know about. Without warning Swift started to move. He moved so fast he made a speed mirage. He literally looked to be in multiple places at once. Leaving imprints of himself in various places. He moved so fast that an after image of himself remained. Though the image did not move that was a way to tell the real Swift, it was dam confusing to someone who had never seen it done before. Swift zipped past Geo with a knife. SNICK! The sound of blade cutting flesh!
"OH NO FOLKS LOOKS LIKE GEO THE INCREDIBLE DIRTY MAN HAS UNDERESTAMTED THIS ONE! LET'S HEAR IT FOR SWIFT!" The crowd began to cheer and Swift ate up the applause. He was holding a bloody knife in his had. Swift opened his hand and held the knife between his index finger and thumb and just waved it at Geo. He wiped the blood on his dirty shirt and stared at him with his beedy sucken in eyes. The eyes of a madman and a fiend.
Daydream watched in horror at the fight before her. He's just going to make him fight them all. Geo can't win this. There's no way Gavin's going to play by any rules. She wanted to do something. She had to do something. Daydream teleported out of the circus tent.

Kendra hadn't tried to keep this from Emily. Honestly she didn't even give it much thought until recently. She had heard about some of the amazing things the X-Men had done from someone around the mansion. She was killing time waiting for Emily to get out of a class and she had heard these stories. These amazing stories of mutants standing up for other mutants and for justice. It honestly inspired her. Kendra herself wanted to try out for the X-Men, but she had to know first if she had what it took.
She had started a few nights ago slipping out for nightly vigilante endeavors. She hadn't found any trouble until last night though. She had gotten her ass kicked, but it was mostly her fault. Her own stupidity that had caused her injuries. She felt from a fire escape and busted up her ribs because she was clumsy. She tripped over a trash can letting the attack know where she was to choke her. All things that could have been easily avoided. Next time I won't make those mistakes. She thought. Is there going to be a next time? She looked at her girlfriend's face. She still looked pissed.
"I..." She started but quickly got cut off with Emily demanding once again just what in the hell she was thinking. She could have called the police or tried to scar the guys off she supposed, but she had done it. She had made a difference in someone's life. Sitting there now thinking about that moment of helping someone she couldn't help but have an undertone of pride swelling up inside her. It was stupid and reckless, but she was proud that she had for once in her life not been ashamed of who she was. So often her gift seemed more like a curse, but she had actually used it to help someone.
Kendra dared to look Emily in the face when she touched her lip. The yelling had apparently stopped. She didn't like feeling like a disappointment in the eyes of her girlfriend. "I'm sorry Em." She said softly. She didn't mean to freak her out or scare her but she wasn't going to give up on the idea of being an X. As much as it freaked Emily out the idea of her getting hurt she didn't want to give up on that feeling of pride knowing that she had made a difference. "I want to try out for the X-Men." She finally said. Her eyes casted down to the floor waiting for the yelling again. Kendra reached out and grabbed Emily's hand. "Let's not fight ok? I won't go out looking to play vigilante anymore. Not until I'm trained ok?" It was the best she could offer she only hoped that her girlfriend could sense how important it was to her. She had always wanted to do something to make the world a better place for mutants and humans alike.
