The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

Dream rolled her eyes. Not that he could see that. She was leaning against the wall with her arms crossed against her chest. She figured he'd probably want to meet with sweet little Kendra. Girl was soft and cuddly as a little bunny, with big brown eyes to bat at you and make you feel all warm and fuzzy inside. The problem with that was, Kendra couldn't fight worth a dam. She could barely walk without tripping and falling flat on her face. "Yeah? Well I was hoping we could have a conversation without one of us being an ass. Guess we're both disappointed." She said dryly.
"The reason Kendra called you out here in the middle'o the night is simple. She needs your help. You gotta deal with me, because I love the girl, but she ain't worth a dam in a fight you're gone want me here for that. See that building over there? The one with the portly gentleman enjoying a cheesesteak? That's called a crack house sugar. We're here to shut it down tonight." She said stepping off the curb. The sound of her boots clicking on the pavement gave some indication of where she was standing.
"One of our friends, a mutant with low self esteem went into that crack house. Got'emselve a nice heaping helping of overdose for his troubles. They sell to kids there. Now you can be mad at me all ya want. But I know you don't want nothing happening to Kendra. Sweet...Lil old....Kendra. Now I can do it alone if you wanna teach me a'lesson, just know every injury I get is gone show up on her body. If I get shot tonight.... She's gone bleed out in her bed and never wake up. Can you live with that?"
Dream wasn't giving him a chance to talk. She was giving him sass and feisty attitude, but she had a point. He agreed to help though it wouldn't have made much sense for Kendra to show up here herself. She wanted to show up in astral form herself. Her own personality here to be with Artair. It was the least she could do. Though when she had to use the tranq to get to sleep It invited Dream to the party in her place.
"Let's do it for the lil kids huh?" She asked. Still, there was a hint of sarcasm in her tone. She remembered last time she met Artair. He yelled at her so bad she disappeared. He forced Kendra back into her astral body. He had literally changed her mental state, her perception just by his general scariness. That was the type of person she wanted helping with this problem. Someone who was scary, someone who had the tools to help. But most importantly... Someone who cared about doing what was right.

The handsome man smiled a overconfident smile at Geo's quip when he called him barber shop. Daydream didn't like the way that smile fit his face. It seemed almost evil. When Geo said he wouldn't be long the handsome man took the money from Geo and took off his hat. Motioning with his hat in the direction of the tent. As if h was already aware of who he was and why he was here, yet he gave him the song and dance anyways. "Ooooh I don't know friend-o. Once you see the wonders you may never want to leave this place!" He said with gales of laughter.
Daydream hurried past him and kept stride with Geo. She didn't want to be more than a few feet behind. As they made their way past the Handsome man's smile faded. He threw his had on the counter of the ticket booth and watched them enter the big top tent. When they were clear from view the Handsome man reached up and grabbed his own hair. He pulled at it furiously until the hair seemed to extend and grow longer. Daydream referred to him in her head as the handsome man, but in actuality it was what everyone referred to him as. He was simply known as Handsome man. He pulled at his hair until it was as long as Geo's. Long strands of dirty blond hair that looked closely to resemble the elemental's. Then he reached up and started to push against his own face. His face seemed to slide and mold like play dough. He used both hands, pushing around his features. Pinching at the soft pliable flesh. He shaped his face to look EXACTLY like Geo's face. Handsome man was a mutant who could change his appearance to look like other people.
The smile returned to his face as he reached in the booth and flipped a little sign on the ticket taker's booth that read "SORRY FOLKS! WE'RE CLOSED CHECK BACK TOMORROW!" Handsome man set off to find some clothes in the wardrobe and prop area for the circus performers. Something that closer resembled Geo's attire. As he walked off he said in a voice that wasn't his own. "Yeah.... I may never leave here."
Inside the tent was dusty and dark. The stands were empty save for a few people around the top that appeared to be janitors sweeping up from the last show. There was a stench to the place. An animal smell that made Daydream's nose curl. "Where is everyone?" Daydream asked as quietly as she could. She didn't like that the place was so deserted. It smelled like a trap. They moved little further into the extra large tent. They moved until they were standing in the center. Then a spotlight came on shining down on them brightly. Suddenly music began to play over the PA system in the tent that Daydream hadn't noticed until now.
"LADIES AND GENTLMEN BOYS AND GIRLS!!!!! IT IS MY HONOR TO PRESENT FOR YOU FOR THE FIRST TIME!!!!!! DAYDREAM THE AMAZING INVISIBLE GIRL! AND GEO THE INCREDIBLE DIRTY MAN!!!!!!!" A voice rang out from the darkness. Daydream recognized that voice. It was Gavin Sinclair himself. He strolled out holding a megaphone in hand and a big bright smile on his face. He was announcing them to what was an empty circus tent only moments before. The bright blinding light had distracted them for but a moment, but now the entire tent's stands were filled with mutants. Swift had carried each and everyone of them in himself. HE was feeling much better having returned to the circus. The circus had a healer. Swift had moved fast. Daydream and Geo hadn't seen the little blur moving around the tent with the lights in their face but now that everyone was seated Swift dashed over towards Gavin and stopped with his hands cross against his frail chest.
"Miss me?" He asked Daydream and blew her a kiss. He turned slightly to look at Geo and gave him the finger.

She had tossed and turned for some time struggling to fall asleep. It was the hivewire of nerves and excitement that was causing the problems. She was supposed to have met him by now. Yet, it was a non starter if she couldn't even fall asleep first. Sighing she sat up in her bed. Her eyes feel on the tranquilizer gun sitting on the nightstand. She hadn't planned on bringing it but..... Kendra grabbed the holster and removed her leather jacket. Kendra slipped the shoulder holster on over her light billowy sweater and pulled her jacket back on over top of it. Pulling the gun from the holster she pressed it against her thigh and pulled the trigger.
There was a sharp sting in her thigh. Dam. Hurts every time. She thought. The effects were quick so she quickly made sure she tucked the gun back into it's place in the holster just beneath her her jacket. The drugs didn't take long to kick in. In her astral form she would have a slight headache, but things effected her less in her dreams. Like everything around her was muted. Pain was less painful, feelings were less pleading. Her senses of taste, touch and smell were dulled as well. It was like she was in the world, only on a different plain. She couldn't explain how it worked, she just knew that the drugs weren't going to be much of a hindrance to her nd that was good thing.
There was something about Kendra that people needed to know. She was a complex woman. Ordinarily she was very kind and sweet, a bit mousy and shy but overall a good natured person who just wanted what everyone wanted. Love. Happiness. The freedom to be herself without being hated for what she was. There was also her astral form to consider. Yes, her astral form took on a life of her own, but it varied. Her attitude and general disposition depended on her state of exhaustion. The way some people might become cranky when they were tired her mind did something different. Her level of exhaustion during her dreams determined which 'daydream' you were going to get. When her body and mind reached high levels of exhaustion the impulse control centers of her brain started to wobble off the rails. The more tired she was, the more of a troublesome little minx she became.
She was conscious of what was happening around her and what she was doing, only she didn't care. It didn't occur to her that she was stirring up trouble because her brain chemistry changed with her mental restlessness. She even had a name for this 'persona' that got her into so much trouble. Dream. Dream was a girl who cared about the thrills and excitement of danger and intrigue. She didn't think about the consequences because that was boring. She wanted to have fun! She wanted to test the boundries of what she could get away with.
The fact that she had to tranquilize herself didn't bode well for them having a peaceful night with no ill advised shenanigans. Kendra's body slumped against the soft comforter of her bed. Her eyes fell closed and within moments she was asleep.
Standing outside of her body Dream looked down on her sleeping form. Shaking her head lightly she checked her watch. Yep. The scott's gonna be mad. Wonder how far we can push that temper. She thought with a little grin forming on her mouth. Dream stood there, invisible to the world. She could see her own body. It was slightly translucent and as usual enveloped in a light pink aura. Dream peered through the open bathroom door. She saw her reflection in the mirror and smiled wider. Looking good girl! She thought. And exploded into a mist of pale white and fiery red. She reappeared out on the lawn of the mansion. Teleporting from her room to the soft wet grass.
Settling her eyes on the iron gate she teleported to the other side of it and began to walk down the street. Every few steps she took she would explode into that cloud of Dream and reappear a few feet further. She traveled by a mixture of walking and teleporting and it go her to her destination rather quickly.
He was waiting for her on a corner. It was her Dream persona he had met in the club. The one he was rather displeased with actually. She didn't seem to mind that she was making an unexpected appearance when he was expecting the shy sweet Kendra and she showed up in her stead. She was the same girl after all, only she didn't carry the same inhibitions or fears that Kendra did. Dream was out for fun. Her idea of fun was dangerous. She was out for a little vigilante justice. There was a crack den right around the next corner. Dream had been meaning to take care of it herself, but it'd be nice to have a little backup.
One of the students at the mansion had OD'ed on some poison they got from this place. Some silly twat who thought turning to drugs was the proper way to handle the stress of being a mutant with a visible mutation. Rather than face the pain they buried it in a needle and nearly paid for it with their lives. Kendra couldn't allow that. Dream couldn't allow that. Dream was a trouble maker sure, but at her core she was still a good person. Her methods and ideas of fun might be a little skewed, but she still had the same core values as her waking self. It was like an extension of her subconscious mind in which Dream existed within Kendra. She wanted to help the world heal just like Kendra. Kendra used her photography to try and better the world. Dream used her fists and cocky attitude.
Teleporting right up behind Artair she couldn't resist the urge to spook him a little. "Been waiting long?" She spoke up from behind him unexpectedly. She was smiling. The air kissing her soft pale skin exposed beneath the rips of the thighs of her grey jeans. Her hair waving lightly in the cool wind. She was beautiful. She truly was a dream. To bad for her massive ego that no one in the world could see her.

Outside the boarders of the city. Just outside of New York.....
Seemingly in the middle of nowhere on a deserted strip of god forsaken land sat a tan tent. The sheer size of the tent was enough to make one pause. The gentle breeze blowing through the field caused the flaps of the tent to dance and move, as if the tent itself was welcoming you in to the horrors that lied within. It was drenched in a macabre sense of wonder and curiosity.
The name suited it perfectly. Gavin Sinclair's Fantastical Circus of Curiosities and Wonders. Carnival music could be heard throughout. There were popcorn venders and carnival games. It was a traveling circus with carnival fare. The circus itself was but a piece of the main attraction here. Gavin Sinclair had set up shop in New York. He moved from place to place and only left when he added a few new Curiosities to his tent of Wonders.
Standing out in front was a large gate. Iron rot and surrounding the whole of the amusement. Settled in the center of the entrance gate was a ticket booth. Standing inside the booth was a handsome man who had a look of boredom on his face. He slouched in his booth and perked up a bit when he saw Geo approaching. He was wearing a vaudevillian hat and a red and white stripped vest. He had a white flowery long sleeve shirt beneath it with red armbands high up on the sleeves. "Welcome, Welcome to the most magnificent spectacle this side of Jersey! Prepare to be amazed and mystified by the alluring dangers and intrinsic wonders! Only $10 per person, you will not regret it!"
Daydream looked over at Geo as if to make sure that he was still ok. She was standing beside him though she was invisible. Her body safely tucked away locked in a closet in an abandoned office building. She had found the place on one of her many sleepless nights exploring the city in astral form. It was at the edge of the city in the dying industrial part of the city.
It was a rough looking place. Steam seeped through the vents in the street casting weird shadows on the grafeetied walls. Shady looking characters hung out on every corner, though no one saw her enter. She felt confident that her body would be safe there. She not only locked herself in but barricaded the door from the inside before teleporting herself out of the closet.
Even though she was invisible something struck Daydream with a cold fear that ran through her body. The handsome ticket taker was looking at Geo. Then his head turned to where she was standing a little off to the side and he smiled brightly at the empty space before his eyes moved back to his potential customer. Does he know? She wondered. She didn't know how he could know. She was completely invisible. She had her police baton and her camera, along with her tranq gun hanging from her shoulder holster but those things were also invisible. He couldn't possibly know that I'm standing here. Could he? She wondered.
The handsome man lifted a long wooden cane and pointed it at the tent. "Inside there mister....." His voice went from showman to serious, his tone lowered to a whisper and he leaned in closer for Geo to hear him. "You'll find the most amazing sights you ever seen on this earth. Witness epic battles, conqurering heros and amazing feats. Though it is not for the faint of heart.......Or!" His voice went back to highly exuberant and cheerful. "Enjoy the rides. We have ferris wheels and games, cotton candy and extravaganzas! There's no shortage of wonders at Gavin Sinclair's Fantastical Circus of Curiosities and Wonders!" He smiled at Geo, though out of the corner of his eye he seemed to be watching that little empty space, just off to the side with a insidious smile that Daydream couldn't trust. Not for one second.

Dream watched her scrubbed at her skin and a look of anger briefly smeared across the dream walkers usually pretty face. Dream reached down and grabbed Xavia by the shoulders. She teleported with her in her grasp and reappeared outside. In the grounds of the mansion. Letting go for a moment there was a smalls swoosh sound of Dream teleporting again back to the room. She wanted to grab her police baton and her tranqualizer gun.
Dream teleported back to where she had left Xavia on the lawn. She could teleport people around limited distance she didn't have the ability to go anywhere in the world, but as long as it was within the confines of a single city it was ok. Still it took more concentration to teleport more than just herself. It was taxing on her mind and only pushed her already overburdened mind further into this 'Dream' persona. The more restless her mind became the more care free and risk taking it became. Dream looked at Xavia who didn't really seem like she was completey 'there' with her.
"We're going to teach this fuck a lesson! You will not be a victim." She said grabbing Xavia's hand and teleporting with her down the street every so often they would stop and take a few steps on foot before she would teleport them again closer to their destination. She knew where Wallamack drive was. She knew where she was going. The way they were travelling had to be disorienting as hell, but Dream wasn't thinking about that. She was only focused on revenge for her friend.

Kendra felt another swell of anger. This time it wasn't directed at the kids that thought it would be fun to bully someone. This time her anger was directed at Leon. She hated to see him put himself down like that. When he looked up in the sky to look at the storm clouds rolling in; Kendra reached up and grabbed his face. Her hand slid on the side of his face and cupped the warmth of his cheek. His fur was soft and warm. She didn't reach up aggressively but softly. She used her hand on his cheek to guid his face where she wanted it.
She guided his face so that he was staring into her eyes again. Kendra wasn't a really good liar. When she was lying you could most certainly tell she was. Leon didn't know her long enough to know this perhaps, but anyone who cared to look could see the pure genuine nature of her words. Kendra's expression turned softer. Her eyebrows pushed together in concern and sadness, her pouty lips curled back and waivered a bit. Big brown eyes shrink wrapped in silver tears that rolled down one cheek as if it was the exclamation point at the end of her statement.
"You. Are my friend." She said clearly. There was a slight crack to the pitch of her tone. "Grow'n up as' little girl I used to feel like'a monster. Ma'daddy always used to call me a little monster. Said I killed my mama." Kendra had looked away. The pain of memories to hurtful she didn't want Leon to see her balling her eyes out. She took a few steps, still under the big tree that protected them from the lightly falling rain all around them now. "She died during child birth. Ma'daddy called me all sorts'a thangs, monster, the devil, a cancer in his life. When he found out I was a mutant he only hated me more."
"I met'a girl. Libby was her name....." Kendra had fast forwarded a bit in her history to give a more clear history. "We was in love, or at least.... I was. We were together for a long time. Until one day I felt safe'onough to tell her bout my secret. Tell her I was a mutant. She broke up with me and told me to leave." Turning around to face Leon again she didn't even try to hide that she was crying now. She wore the streams of tears rolling down both cheeks like badges of honor. Kendra moved back over to Leon. "I've felt like a monster for along time for thangs I can't control. We're not monsters." She said taking his much larger hnd into her much smaller one. "We're just people. Do you understand?" She asked. She looked at him with big brown watery eyes and a soft hint of a smile daring to pull at her face. She didn't see Leon as a monster just a likewise suffering soul.

Now that was impressive. Dream thought leaning forward on the table. She watched as Becca dispatched the rest of the metal monsters with ease. Dream slid herself from the table. She grimaced with the look of mild annoyance when she put weight on her foot and felt it beginning to buckle. " Next time I'll fall sleep with a rocket launcher." She joked looking around the room at all the scattered remains of disembodied baddies.
Dream was intrigued by the fiery redhead. She had a girlfriend. Probably lying in bed with her as she stood here, but that didn't matter to Dream. She wasn't the type to worry about the nuclear fallout. She was much more interested in the pretty explosions.
Dream paused a moment. Took stock of things. She didn't feel the weight of Emily's slender arms lying across her. Usually she was big on cuddling. Even in her dreaming astral form she could feel a physical touch on her body. She hadn't been woken up yet either. Emily was a worry wart. The thing about it was when Kendra spoke in her astral form, she mumbled those exact words in her sleep. Any one sitting by her beside would know exactly what she was up to in her dream walking adventures.
Not to mention the restless tossing and turning and the sudden formation of light burn marks on one side of her face. No, if Emily was still in the room with her, she would have woken her to find out just what the hell she was up to. Dream didn't know where Emily was, and in the moment she didn't really care to put much thought on it. She looked back at Becca and noticed the blood dripping from her shoulder. "You're bleed'n!" She cried out.
This was the danger room after all. She had her minor scrapes herself and it seemed even the magnet mancing beauty could be hurt. Dream's eyes washed over Becca and mostly her cut on her shoulder. She reached up with her invisible thumb and wiped away the blood. She couldn't help but smile at the punny nature of her ability. She controlled magnetism and right now Dream felt a magnetic pull over her. If she gave her a code name right now it would be 'Attraction.' Dream smiled at her, more annoyed than ever that Becca could not see her. Kinda hard to flirt with a beautiful woman when you're invisible.
Instead the trouble making dream decided that they should just move on to the next challenge. There couldn't be much more left. She checked her watch. It was getting pretty early in the morning. She really didn't have much of a concept of time. Like ever. Daydream always had to make sure she was wearing a watch. She had the world's worst internal clock. When the days and nights seemed to bleed into each other and never end it's hard to tell sometimes.
Dream sighed heavily. "What'sa waitin for us at the end of this lil adventure anyways?" She asked wondering how much more she had to endure. Dream crossed her arms over her chest. She wanted to wake herself up to chat with the beautiful redhead in person, but she knew that Kendra would chicken out. Kendra didn't take what she wanted and that's why it was up to her to live for the both of them while she slumbered. Dream saw it as her duty to make sure that Kendra had a better life, if she wasn't going to go after the things she wanted while she was awake she was going to do it for her while she slept.
Kendra wouldn't have gone after Becca because Kendra had a girlfriend. That wouldn't stop her mischievous persona from making a pass at a beautiful woman. The only thing stopping her right now was the slight concern over what lied behind the next door.
There was a big red door at the other end of the room. She didn't know if Becca had been through this simulation before but she probably had. Most of the challenges seemed tailor made towards someone with a magnetic power. Dream wouldn't be surprised if the next room was them crossing a bridge with big metal axes swinging back and forth from the ceiling or something.
Looking at the blood on her thumb, Dream realized that she didn't have time to flirt. The pain coursing dully through her ankle was enough to tell her that things could turn ugly if she wasn't careful. Dream tossed the shield on the floor. It clattered on the cobalt with a heavy clunk. Prying the dead fingers off of the ax she tossed the severed arm as well. She had found a weapon she liked at least. She only hoped it'd help against whatever was behind the next door.
It wouldn't be much of a compromise. The psychic could see her. She could make it so everyone in the room could see her. There was just no hiding from psychics for Daydream. Daydream had never met a psychic before this young girl. She didn't know that psychics could see through the veil. See that she was really there when the rest of the world were ignorant to her existence.
Daydream thought about it a moment. She was wearing a pair of her own jeans with rips and tears at the thighs, revealing a hint of the pale flesh beneath. She had on a black tank top and she grabbed her leather jacket and slid it on over her shoulders. Reaching into the jacket pocket she grabbed her wool fingerless gloves and slipped them on. She had been meaning to eventually buy a pair of actual leather gloves; but she kept forgetting. It'd be nice not to dream walk and leave her fingerprints everywhere to scream to the world hey just broke into your house!
Daydream looked up and nodded in agreement. She didn't know how that little girl's power worked. For all she knew she could only invade their heads. It didn't necessarily mean she would know they were there the moment they arrived. Did it? Just then their door did get a knock on it. Daydream's eyes moved to the door quickly. She was shifting her weight on her back foot ready to pounce on whoever it was and fight for her life when the voice came from the other side. Mac?
"Ay yo guys! Open up its Mac!" When the door opened Daydream looked at him. She didn't recognize him when he wasn't a flirty little bird. He was actually. Quite handsome. Daydream smiled. "Mac?" He stepped into the room looking around a bit and then his eyes settled on Kendra. A warm smile spread across his face. "Yeah mama it's me. Hey I stopped by to ask if you guys wanted to go get some breakfast or something? My treat!" Mac suggested turning to face Geo.
"No thanks Mac we have someone we have to meet today. Maybe when we get back ok?" Daydream felt a little awful that she kept putting off getting to know Mac better. He was Geo's friend and he seemed like a pretty nice guy. It just so happened that every time he was around there was something going on. "Come'on Tristen." She said grabbing Geo's hand and pulling him out the door. They left with the door open. Leaving Mac standing in their room alone. His shoulders slumped as the bright friendly smile slowly straightened out into a look of fear.
Suddenly the walls behind Mac opened up and the creepy circus music began to swell. A blue fog rolled out of the wall sized doors that shouldn't exist. The door to Daydream and Geo's room slammed closed as the burst of wind came rushing from the opening in the wall. Gavin Sinclair stepped out of the wall. He had with him his psychic the little girl. And a few extra mutants for muscle in case Geo came back unexpectedly. Gavin was smiling. Mac didn't simply stood there. Waiting for Gavin to speak. He knew who it was. The man scared him.
Leaning into Mac's ear Gavin's breath was cold against his skin. "Are they coming?" "I think so....Said they had to meet someone." Gavin's hands crept up Mac's back. Mac did nothing but continue to stare at the door in front of him. His expression had never changed from that scared look. "Keep following them son!" Gavin's eyes rolled over the message on the wall and a big toothy grin spread across his face. He leaned into Mac's ear one last time. "Nice touch with the message kid. Remember. Get them to the circus today!" Gavin said as he took the little girl's hand. They turned and headed back into the wall. A few mutants dressed as creepy clowns followed them into the wall and the music died away. The smoke disappeared and Mac had to follow Geo and Daydream.
Mac turned into bird. His body seemed to shrink in matter of a microsecond and his cloths turned to feathers, his mouth turned into a beak and before you could even snap your fingers he was in his bird form. Mac flew out the open window to follow them. He had to catch up. He hadn't been able to do much to sway the course of events and get them to go to the circus, but he knew Geo well. He knew that if he was into a woman and she was threatened even indirectly he was the type to want to go bust some skulls.
Daydream lead Geo down the hall. She was nervous, but that wasn't going to stop her from going with him and making sure that Geo came back to her. "I know the perfect place we can stash my body." She said as she pushed open the front door the sanctuary. The day was bright and sunshiny outside. Nothing like the rainy dreck that had been the last couple of days. It was going to be beautiful all day. To bad the forecast for the rest of her day was calling for bloodbaths.

Kendra had landed a knee. That had surprised even her. She didn't expect to land any hits in this fight. After all. She had like no training whatsoever and she was up against one of the X-Men. She had to have been distracted by the sound of the roar. Kendra thought. Still, she couldn't help but let the hint of a smile pull the corner of her mouth up in a wicked smirk. That sent her confidence skyward bound.
Kendra allowed her mind to wander a bit. The girl known as daydream had a tendency to allow her mind to well.... Daydream. She had already been through a simulation once before in the danger room. She had followed Rebecca into the danger room by accident. Being to nosey for her own good. She had been asleep and astral projecting when she followed her. She wondered if she had what it took to complete the danger room awake. Without her teleport. Could she complete the simulation with just her wits and her reflexes?
Kendra was snapped out of her daydream when a uppercut connected with her chin. It rocked her head head to the side. Her long red hair flowing violently around her shoulder as the fist connected causing her head to snap to the side. Kendra looked back with eyes wide. Never daydream during a fight stupid! She scolded herself. Juliette followed it up with kick that came in just as hard. Kendra managed to dodge it and smack her leg away "Sorry."
She was in the middle of a fight and she was saying sorry. It seemed a little silly, but they weren't really enemies, though the punches weren't being pulled at all. Kendra really kneed Juliette hard in the stomach. And there was already a slight bruise forming against the thin line of her jaw. A delicate purple against her porcelain complexion.
Kendra once again took up a fighting stance once. Each of them had landed a strike on the other. One knee to the gut and one nasty uppercut. Kendra had bits of dirt and twigs clinging to her messed up hair.. Kendra still had her police baton hanging from her belt, but she didn't need it. She felt pretty evenly matched with Juliette. Kendra's cheeks still blushed with a rosy tint. Even the slightest bit of embarrassment was evident on her pale face.
Above them they had gathered an audience. Three little lemur monkeys sat on several branches and watched the two women go at it. Kendra wouldn't have even noticed if it weren't for one of them howling in excitement over the take down. He was still cheering when she took her stance again. Kendra's eyes darted over to it for a moment and then back to Juliette. Well, not even an X-Man yet and I already got fans. She mused. The cocky attitude was growing her head a bit, but she had to admit..... This was pretty cool. She was going toe to toe with one of the X-Men and it seemed pretty evenly matched so far.

Kendra watched the scene unfolding before her. She didn't know what he was about to do. Was he going to hurt them? Was he going to tear them limb from limb? Leon was a big guy, and they had it coming. But he didn't he only spoke to them calmly. The words that came out of his mouth though, broke her heart a little. She watched as the kids got terrified and ran off. She thought his intimidating presence had finally made it's point. Kendra couldn't see his many rows of teeth. She didn't see the dislocating of the jaw though she could hear him quite clearly.
Kendra moved over to him. "Hey you o...." She stopped as she place a hand on his arm and felt something jab at her finger. She looked at her finger and saw blood. "Ow!" She cried. That really hurt. Kendra had poked something sharp nestled down into his thick red fur. It wasn't a quill. They hadn't grown back yet. It wasn't even a quill trying to grow back. It was a stick. A stick that had fallen from the tree with the squirell under the influence of a gentle breeze. It had floated down and found it's way into his fur.
Kendra reached over and plucked the stick out of his fur. Looking at it a moment she shook her head lightly and tossed the stick away. "You ok?" She repeated. Sucking on her finger a bit to make the throbbing ache leave her finger. That really hurt. She looked at Leon with sad apologetic eyes.
She felt bad that he had to put up with stuff like that. It wasn't his fault he was different. He came here to probably get away from people like that. We were all mutants here, there was no reason for us to hate each other when there was already so much hate in the world. Kendra couldn't stand people like that. It was ignorant, and small. "For the record...." She said smiling a little. "I wasn't upset that they called me ya girlfriend." "I was upset that they call'ed ya freak show. You're not a freak. You're my friend." She said softly.
Kendra saw above them the sky was beginning to darken a bit. She knew that the perfectly nice, sunny day was going to sour soon. She didn't mind the rain. She didn't know honestly how Leon felt about the rain and getting his fur wet. She couldn't imgine him loving the rain though like she did. "Maybe we should get inside." She said as a suggestion. She was about to grab his arm and pull him inside. Though she didn't. She knew he liked his personal space so she just smiled at him awkwardly and tried her best not to seem upset even though those rude teenagers had made her skin crawl.

Kendra..... He called me Kendra. She thought. The whisper of a smile tugging at the corners of her face. She didn't want to show how much that had meant to her. She didn't go by Daydream all the time. Sometimes she did. Mostly everyone just called her Kendra.
The fact that Tristen had called her that told her that he saw the human side in her too. It was a warm feeling. Without warning he kissed her lips. A vivid flash of last night stormed her mind until his lips retreated. A shaking hand pulling at the bed sheets. Sand and dirt, mixed with mud, the echoing screams bouncing around the walls of the room. The thunderous pounding of the rain outside. Weakening Tristen's connection to the world. Isolating him, the rain caused him to feel human and she found his humanity beautiful when she tangled among him in a warm embrace.
He told her she was special, that he didn't know what this was. What does he want it to be? Her mind shot back almost as if replying to his comment. Oh my god. She thought. What do I want this to be? She had no clue. She thought of Emily, how she was probably worried sick. Her girlfriend was an empath. She felt other people's emotions psychically. They over powered her own emotions. Kendra couldn't help but wonder if her own emotions of grief were strong enough to override what others were feeling. She felt guilty, but she felt hopeful. She wasn't sure what this was either, but she wanted more of it. As terrible as it was to say, she found herself wanting more, not less of Geo.
Her eyes followed him as he pulled away. She wanted to run her tongue over her lips, but she didn't. She let the feeling linger as he crouched in front of her and proclaimed it was going to get nasty. "I know that! That's why I don't want'chu gone alone!" She retorted. She had just as much right to worry about him as he did to worry about her. And it was her that they were really after. Or at least that's the way this had started. But as they watched Kendra and Tristen; Daydream and Geo they realized what a rare and magnificent specimen Geo was himself. Geo didn't realize he'd be walking right into a trap. He was on the list now. The wish list. His name was right under Daydream's.
"If'n you're go'in. I'm go'in! That's final." She said with a defiant streak she hadn't shown til now. She could be stubborn when she wanted to be. She knew there wasn't a whole lot she could do practically. She knew that she would probably get in the way more than anything as Geo tried to deal with Gavin, but she wanted to be there. She wanted to make sure nothing happened to Tristen. She wanted to make sure that it was finally over. If Tristen was as big a ladie's man as he came off to be he should know better than to argue with a stubborn woman.

Daydream looked down when he took the knife from her hand. For second she stared at it confused. For the life of her she couldn't remember how it had gotten there. Then she remembered. She was in that house during the night. She had watched a copy of 'Dude where's my car and drank some wine in a strange man's recliner. She even went in there and sliced the first slice of someone's birthday cake.
She didn't care if someone woke up when they heard the movie playing, she was invisible. She had woken up as she was going back to the kitchen for a second slice. She woke up with the knife in hand.
Daydream was sitting on the bed. She watched Tristen getting dress, though she made no effort to. Her eyes glued to the taunting words on the wall. We'll never be safe. We'll never be safe from them until....She knew that Tristen was right. He was never going to stop until he ended him permanent. Kendra's body slipped out of bed.
She clutched the sheet to her naked form as she crossed the room. She started to slip on some clothes when there was a knock at the door. Daydream let out a startled shriek. It took her several mintues to realize that it was someone knocking on the door across the hall. She was so jumpy, so nervous. She knew this hd to be done but she didn't want to face Gavin Sinclair. The very thought of his creepy smile was enough to send a chill down her spine.
Daydream slipped on a pair of jeans and a lightweight tanktop from the drawer of spare clothes. She pulled her hair out of her shirt and caught a glimpse of herself in a mirror hanging on the wall. She saw the deep bruise there from Tristen's teeth on her neck.
She felt her heart sink to the floor as she felt the guilt wash over her. Emily. She thought quietly. Tristen was saying that the circus was going to get dealt with today. She didn't want to go, but she figured they were going to have to face it eventually. "Ok, let's go." She said. Fully intending to go with him.
Daydream slipped on her boots that were still damp from the rain. She tied them tight sitting on the edge of the bed. She was scared, but she knew that nothing would happen to her when Geo was around. He wouldn't allow anything to happen to her. She wasn't foolish enough to think that he loved her in such a short amount of time, but she knew there was something. She felt it too.
There was an unspoken connection. They had only known each other a few days but it felt like a life time. She felt connected to him in a way that she couldn't explain. She didn't know what last night was, the start of something amazing or some wonderful mistake, either way she knew that Tristen wouldn't let anything happen to her.

Kendra's attack was off balanced and sloppy. It was an uncoordinated mess of over anxious nerves and with the slightest hint of sucker punch. Still, it missed entirely. Her attack was easily dodged and Kendra stumped into a nearby tree. She caught herself by throwing out her hands and she just barely managed not to run into it face first. ”I guess we’re getting right into things, huh?” Juliette asked. Kendra's hands were against the rough bark of the tree. She clinched her fingers a moment amazed by how real the bark felt beneath her subtle touch. Turning around she faced Juliette once more.
"Guess'n we are." She said with a small half apologetic smirk. She gave her a look that said this is going to be fun. And it was. There was no real danger her for the moment. The danger room right now was just the sparing room. She wanted to watch how Juliette fought so she could mimic it a bit. Though her fighting style while awake was very different than how she fought while astral projecting. She couldn't teleport while she was awake and teleporting played a big role in how she kept opponents off balance.
Moving closer to Juliette she took up a loose fighting stance. Really she just bent her knees a little and put up her fists, but that was enough. Kendra smiled at Juliette wandering when she was going to ramp it up and really attack her. She was the more experienced of the two. She was bound to have one or more tricks up her sleeve. Kendra didn't know if there was some gret secret to fighting. She didn't seemed to be born with the innate gift to 'kick ass.'
She wasn't any better at defense, but at least she would get an idea of what Juliette was working with as far as fighting ability goes. The smile faded from her face as she charged again. This time she swung with the opposite fist hoping to catch her off guard. Maybe land a lucky blow. Ice packs were surely going to be in order after today, maybe over a cold beer. There were no hard feelings, at least on Kendra's end. It was just training.
Somewhere off in the wild jungle she heard a loud roar. What the hell was that? She wondered. Well the simulation is unpaused. Just because they were standing in the clearing taking their time to practice; didn't mean that things weren't in the jungle moving towards them. Hunting them. The sudden roar in the jungle distracted her enough for her punched to get dodged again, though she immediately followed it up with an unsuspecting knee that fly towards Juliette's stomach.
Okay so things were not ideal. Running at him head on was out of the question. She was having trouble putting weight on her foot. Still, she felt a sudden wave of confidence. Back in her bed her body was becoming restless. It was all of the fighting.
There was a certain curious thing that happened to Kendra while she slept. Her brain wasn't like most people's. Most people got to sleep and recharge their batteries. Kendra's brain was always active. The never ending flow of conscious awareness can play hell on your psyche. It can effect the chemistry of your brain. On particularly restless nights she found that the impulse control centers of her brain went off the rails a bit. The lack of full REM sleep caused her mind to become a bit 'overactive.'
When this happened Kendra's astral form saw those changes directly. She was more cocky and confident. She did what felt right in the moment and mostly that meant whatever seemed like the most fun. She didn't think about the consequences, because she didn't care about the consequences. She didn't suddenly become a bad person with this new altered mental state, but she definitely became more of a risk taker. She had a name for this persona. Dream. Dream was a girl looking to make a mistake. Dream was a girl who was more interested in what was fun than what was practicle and she had pension for theatrics.
A smile spread across her face. Her body back in her bed was already forming bruises. A deep purple bruise formed on her ankle on not only her astral self, but also on her sleeping body writhing beneath soft sheets in room 206. Her body tossed and turned with every bump and tussle.
Kendra was no longer in the room with Becca. It was the same astral body, but slowly more and more of her 'Dream' persona filled her restless mind as the fighting went on. Her smile was wide, her eyes narrowed as she stared down the spearman. "Hey Tinman! That spear for me?' She taunted. She slowly crouched and picked up a severed robotic arm. She was filled with a brazen cockiness that wasn't there moments before. Her mind flooding with dopamine and adrenaline.
Clutching the arm in her hand, she thought about her attack. The robotic arm was holding a small ax. Suddenly she was gone. She teleported to right beside the spearman in the air. She came flying down with a hacking slash. The ax in the robot hand sparked off the side of his neck, but didn't do much damage. Dream hit the floor but landed in a slide as she hooked it's foot with the ax attached to the robot hand and yanked it out from under him as she slid away. She didn't bother to stand She simply looked up and teleported above him. Gripping the robot arm a little higher; more on the handle of the ax and less on the arm itself now, she came flying down. She buried the ax in the back of it's neck. There was an explosion of sparks that flew up and caught her face. It stung as singe marks formed on her sleeping body back in room 206.
"Hey Becca you need a hand?" Dream asked as she stood up confidently from her triumph. Kendra's persona Dream was a competent fighter unlike her usual clumsy self. Dream didn't have many inhibitions. She didn't fear risks, she challenged them meaning she did things that Kendra simply wouldn't do. Dream teleported herself over to one of the tables that the metal monsters had been sitting at.
She was sitting on the table itself and watching Becca fight. She had cool powers, up until now she had been to busy to really see them in action. If she needed a hand she would gladly lend it, though she wanted to see the girl at work. She was quite cute after all. Dream eyed her beautiful companion and leaned back on the table fully expecting a show.
"Groovy" Daydream said as she fell asleep in her arms. She couldn't help but fall asleep with a bit of a smile on her face. She was so tired. All she wanted to do was close her eyes and embrace the warm feeling crashing over her.
The following morning....
Daydream had a restful night sleep. For the first time in a long time she felt as if she had actually slept. It didn't help matters however when she woke up to the terrible sight of a message on the wall. Daydream's eyes cracked open and she immediately let out a scream. Her astral body wasn't in the room. She went out. Strolling around the streets just thinking about what had happened. What it meant. She couldn't spent a whole night lying in bed trapped inside her own head, she needed air. Time to think. She didn't see when their room had been invaded through the night.
"Glad you kids had fun last night! Come on down to Gavin Sinclair's Cirucs of Curiosity and wonder! You'll have more fun than you ever thought possible! We're all anxious to see you,, and getting a little impatient."
The words seemed to be etched into the drywall. Did he watch us last night? She thought. The blood curdling scream still fresh on her lips. Daydream scurried back against the headboard clutching the sheet to her body. Elsewhere her astral body had been cutting a piece of birthday cake. She had broken into some random families home and was raiding their fridge. She found birthday cake and helped herself. When she woke up the knife was transported back to her body. She was holding it in her hand when the sun had gently kissed her awake through the open window.
Daydream was naked beneath the sheets clutching the covers and the knife. She didn't even realize the knife was in her hand she was so distracted by the messge on the wall. It looked bad though. It looked as if maybe she had carved the message herself and forgotten to put away the knife. Gavin and his mutants were here during the night. Maybe through the night. Who's to say they didn't have n invisible mutant. She could turn invisible it wasn't impossible.
