The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

Daydream rolled her eyes when he bragged about being photogenic. She had specifically told him the opposite back at the rite aid. She said that he took a shitty photo, or something along those lines she couldn't quite remember. "I kinda remember tellin ya that you took a crappy photo, but I guess you have a certain flare that would make the page pop." She declared as she slipped another warm flaky forkful between those luscious pink lips.
Though honestly, she could see the potential for something really cool. If he could raise a couch made out of dirt, maybe she'd have him craft something like a throne to sit on made of dirt and rock, with a gravitational orbit of debris floating around him. She really saw that as an amazing shot. Or possibly a picture of him floating a small stone in front of his hand. Something dramatic. She was sure that Tristen was the type to really ham it up. She couldn't imagine him holding back or being shy. She thought about the possibilities and now that he had given her the ok, she really wished she had her camera.
Daydream didn't often get to photograph mutant powers. Some of the photographers who sent photos in to the magazine had no etiquette. No tact. They would sometimes stumble upon a mutant and send in photos of them without their permission. In Daydream's mind this went against everything the magazine stood for. Mutant rights. Human rights. And the fact that we're all supposed to be equals. It seemed exploitative to do it that way. Mutant's weren't supposed to be like animals in a zoo for people's amusement. It was wrong. She wasn't that kind of photographer. She had a thing called integrity.
The mention of the police still wanting them made her pause. Her eyes moved over Tristen's face. He was smiling and unworried, but she felt a sinking filling in her stomach. She had forgotten that they were wanted. So much had happened in such a short time that she let that detail slip her mind. She really was a distractible fool. Daydream's eyes moved over to one of the workers who were speaking Spanish and pointing at them. Her eyebrow raised slightly. Tristen trusted these people. That much was for sure, they almost seemed to interact like family. Daydream wondered what they were saying. They're probably saying ' look at the girl MR. Geo is with! She's so pale! Daydream was always hard on her own looks, she didn't see why her brown eyes made Tristen melt.
Finishing up her pie she reached for her coffee again when Tristen asked her about Emily. She paused mid sip, then she took a sip and set it down. Looking at him she realized a little grin was coming across her face as she thought of Emily. "Well, yeah. She lives at the mansion. She'sa psychic empath who can sense people's emotions just'as real as her own. We met my first night in town actually." She said. She remembered that night. She was in the kitchen late, invisible. Emily came in and sensed her emotion and knew she was there and promptly cursed her out calling her an invisible arse and accused her of trying to 'mess' with her. Daydream had spent the entire night with her and took her into the city for 3 am pizza at this little hole in the wall.
The smile was spreading and she didn't even realize it until it was a big toothy grin. Lost in her own thoughts for a moment she blinked and realized she was still sitting at the table. She knew that Tristen was bound to give her a hard time about it so she looked down at the coffee still in her hands and pretended to be thinking about something. "She's a sweet girl. From England. I don't wanna see her get hurt, so I've been kinda avoiding goin home cus well I thought I might be crazy, but I was sure someone was'a followin me. Turns out I wasn't crazy." Daydream got quite for a moment. The meal between them was all but gone, though they lingered in the booth just for the sake of conversation.
This was a conversation that needed to be discussed. "What're doing bout Gavin? We're goin right? We're gone show up to his show. Tell'em we're not interested and leave? You thank, he'll let'us alone?" Daydream didn't even believe the words that were coming out of her own mouth. She knew better. Even the optimist in her had sensed that Gavin Sinclair was a monster. Unlike Tristen, and unlike herself. Gavin Sinclair was a monster on a whole'nother level.

Kendra was shaking and getting loose. She didn't really know what the simulation entailed but she knew it was going to be a challenge. Loose limber muscles for the perilous fight ahead. Still, they were going to be sparing first so she could warm up as she went along. Kendra rolled her neck around as Juliette asked her if she could fall asleep on command. She couldn't, but she had recently acquired a tranquilizer gun. She had only used it once before. It wasn't ideal and until she could figure out something better it was all she had. Hypnosis maybe? Maybe a trigger word to put her out like a light? She tucked that thought in her pocket for later as an avenue to explore.
Using the tranquilizer gun was sloppy. It took her a few minutes to go fully under and even after she was groggy in her dream. It was always better to fall asleep the natural way. Though getting knocked out cold had the same effect. She didn't want to travel that path, though she was sure that Juliette probably had a mean right hook. She seemed wiry and tough. "Tranq myself to sleep I suppose. Not'n less you know some lullaby's" She said with a little grin. She didn't need to be nervous with Juliette. She was easy to talk to.
When the simulation unpaused Kendra stopped in her tracks. Standing in the center of a jungle she simply marveled at the level of detail. Somewhere off in the distance she could hear a waterfall, and the droning of insects around her. The trees were heavy and thick; though a twinkling of light sprinkled through the heavy brush giving them enough light to see. Somewhere overhead a monkey howled as he happily bounded from branch to branch. The room felt warmer, more alive. The air was humid and sticky. It was like they were a couple of cinnamon buns baking in an oven. "Cheese and crackers..." She said in child like wonder.
Kendra had a habit of replacing swear words with the most ridiculous edits. Her vocabulary was southern in nature but she cursed like a 4 year old. Kendra barely noticed that Juliette was still talking about getting some experience under both their belts. She was so awestruck. The danger room is awesome! She thought with a stupid grin slowly forming on her pink pouty lips.
When Juliette said that she was a lightmancer Kendra looked at her. What's that? Before she could even begin to wonder she watched as Juliette shot a blast at the tree killing it's favorite branch. That poor non existent tree! Still that's pretty cool. Kendra could see how that could come in handy. She was the least experienced? The X-Men must be something you don't want to tussle with. She had to admit she didn't really know what the powers were of the X's she was basically living under a rock until recently she didn't even know the mansion existed. The perks of being a country bumpkin she supposed.
She was ready. She was really ready to start learning how to fight. It would go a long way into helping her possibly join the team. Since she's come to the mansion she had secretly wanted to be on the team. When Ghost was giving her the tour she even foolishly asked if there was an application she could fill out to join the X-Men. Even though, at the time she brought nothing to the table except her clumsy nature and a pocket full of good intentions. She still wasn't sure what she was bringing to the table, but someone seemed to think she was worth training so that was a start.
Kendra smiled at Juliette. She liked her powers. They were pretty interesting. She wondered quietly how they worked and what it would be like to do what Juliette could do. Kendra had her own little bag of tricks, but no good way to execute them. Yeah she could be invisible and an invisible girl with invisible weapons is hard to fight. It was considerably easier when your astral assailant was clumsy and announced her presence with wild flailing swings and no idea what she was doing. This training would be good for her. She had already gone out on her own in astral form trying to serve up a little vigilante justice. She got the job done but it wasn't pretty. It had left her with nearly broken ribs and strangulation marks around her neck.
She was here to fix that. To try and learn to use her abilities to make a difference. If that had to start in a jungle so be it. Though she found herself wondering what lied ahead for them. As pretty as the view was, she knew this wasn't going to be a walk in the park by any stretch of the imagination. Ok then.... Let's start. She thought as she smiled wickedly at Juliette. Without warning she came charging at the brown beauty. Reckless, wild and ready for a good fight.

Kendra found herself excited. The prospect of standing in front of a class helping teach made her a little nervous. If that was in fact some of what she would be doing, but overall she found herself really excited about it. "Sure thang!" She replied.
After the paperwork was all done and dotted she really started to marvel at how things had happened. If she hadn't stood up for that mutant outside of the movie theater she would haven never met Xavia and never been offered this chance to help out. She looked at a few random kids running by laughing about something just outside the building they wee in. She smiled. They seemed so happy. She wished she would have been able to come to this place when she was just a scared little girl trying to understand what was happening to her body. It would have made things a lot easier.
Kendra pushed the hair out of her face and looked over at Xaiva. She seemed to be doing a lot better now. She seemed to blossom like one of her flowers and the pink roseyness of her cheeks was rather fitting for her pale porcelain baby doll complexion. Kendra set her paperwork down on the desk and sighed out a heavy sigh. She knew this was all going to be new for her. Teaching and assistanting, but she was ready for the challenge.
Sitting down a minute she looked at Xavia. She wondered if there was anything else that needed to be done but she couldnt' think of a single thing. All that had to be done now was talk to the headmaster guy and get the official greenlight she guessed, but it seemed the job was already hers. "Well. I gotta head out to the city for a bit, but I'll be ready for class bright and early tomorrow?" She asked. She was surprised that she was starting to feel more excitement than nervousness.

Kendra sat down and said grace smiling lightly as she picked up her fork. She looked over at Leon who seemed to be looking at his tail. A frown formed across her features as she watched him. He seemed worried about something. She thought as she began to cut her steak. Well I guess I'll just have to distract em. She thought smiling a bit.
"How's your food Leon?" She asked plopping a bit of steak into her mouth and following it wit a few sips of wine. She knew he hadn't touched it yet. He was so distracted by whatever it was gong on with his tail, but she wanted him to relax for once. Stop worrying and just enjoy a meal. The wine was heady and strong. Wow! She thought. Better take it easy on that stuff. Likely to get a buzz just from one glass. She was the lightest of light weights when it came to alcohol.
Kendra continued to cut her steak and even dipped a little in her wine as she watched him. "So sports huh? Bet it was football. We could throw a ball round of bit after lunch that sounds like fun!" She was unrelentingly optimistic about everything. Even when she knew that she should dial it back she only piled it on because well.... Because that was just the type of person she was. She was going to break Leon out of his shell and make him have some fun even if it killed her.

Kendra watched as the butterfly emerged from it's cocoon a butterfly. There was something just beautiful about it. Metaphorically, about changing who you were and becoming more than you once were. It was like the world's way of letting you know that even something unremarkable can become something spectacular. Or at least that's how Kendra thought of it. She watched it flutter about for a moment before she got lost in her own thoughts.
Must be nice. Floating about like that on'tha wind. Not'a care in the world. There are actually mutants who can fly like that. No one considers them to be beautiful. They just consider them to be mutants. Kendra was lost in thought for several moments She didn't hear Xavia when she said that she brought her students in here for lessons. Asking her to repeat it she nodded and smiled.
"When's you're next class?" She asked. She realized this was a live in school. The students already lived her. Was this a class that was already up and going? She had no idea. She had never seen Xavia before she ran into her when she was attacked. She had never noticed her around the mansion before, but she didn't take any classes it was very likely she had just simply not noticed her.
Kendra was going to find out later today from whoever she needed to about how to become a teacher's aid here in the mansion. Xavia needed the extra help, she needed the extra cash and she had already made up her mind that she was going to do it. Her fingers lightly touched the stack of papers and combed through them with a light smile as she waited for her response from Xavia. Yeah gradin these won't be so bad. She thought with a warm smile on her lips. "I gotta fill anythang out to be your assistant?" She asked. She was honestly curios she didn't know how this all worked, but she had seen the greenhouse and the teacher.... Next she'd like to see the class room.

The waitress came back and took their plates as Daydream stared at Tristen a moment longer. Gradually, her face softened and she realized she was being silly. She was so used to the curios looks during her time with Libby, that she just naturally expected it from everyone. This wasn't Georgia though, this was New York. She had to keep reminding herself of that from time to time.
Daydream's hands settled back into her lap. One hand clasping the other she was about to speak when the girl brought them each a slice of pie. Daydream raised an eyebrow and looked at the young girl. "Here you go Mr. Geo. mi padre sĂłlo querĂa decir gracias" Mr. Geo? Daydream wasn't sure what was going on but she smiled lightly at the free pie. I shouldn't. I already went to town on that rancho thing. But it would be rude to turn down free pie.
Scooping a piece with her fork, Daydream looked at the girl. "Grassiass!" It was all wrong the way she pronounced it with that southern drawl, but it was the only word in Spanish she knew and she didn't even really know that one if you think about it. Daydream popped the piece of pie in her mouth to discover it was blueberry. Her eyes settled back on Tristen. He had told her some crazy and terrible things about himself. Things that made him a monster. But not in her eyes. She had told him some crazy and terrible things about herself. Things that made her a monster. But not in his eyes. Now all tha was left to do was enjoy the pie.
Daydream was cutting off another small corner as she eyed her plate and spoke. It was really was good pie. The crust was flaky and light. She had to remind herself to get the name of this place. Looking back up at Tristen she smiled as a thought occurred to her. "You're like the poster boy for showin off. You should lemme take some photos of you using your mutation. Could be good for the cause." She said enjoying another savory bite. It was true. Tristen, also known as the mutant Geo would be wonderful to photograph in the right setting she figured he might be the most powerful mutation she had come across. Certainly one of the most powerful ones she had seen in the magazine. The issue she had in her room was about a guy who had fireproof skin. It talked about how he used his mutation to help people as a fire fighter.
Daydream took another sip of her coffee that was now cold. Looking across the table she smiled. She honestly liked the idea of doing a photo shoot with Tristen. It was probably not the right time for it. They had things they had to get done, research to do on this circus. Daydream still didn't even know where the place was. But the fact was she was looking for any distraction she could. She wanted to put off anything possibly dealing with Gavin for as long as she could. She didn't know what Tristen's plan was. She didn't know what he wanted to do after breakfast. All she knew was she wanted life to just be simple again.
Daydream sat there listening to Tristen (He will forever be Tristen to her now) and watched as he almost seemed to be beaming with pride after learning about her job. Mutant revolutionary. Fighting the mutant war in literary form. They say that any publicity was good publicity, but this magazine actually was good publicity for mutants. It humanized them. It didn't vilify them. She could see why he was proud, but it didn't stop her cheeks from burning red.
For several moments; she found herself wondering what it would be like to be a featured mutant in the magazine that she worked for. She could see a full page picture of her sleeping in her bed with a mirrored ceiling and herself lying beside her body. In this imaginary photo her astral body had her hands behind her head resting comfortably. The light pink aura wrapping around her slightly translucent form. In this non existent article the title read. Meet Kendra. The mutant who's dreams never come true.... Or something equally corny for an opening line She thought about who she would have told her story. Would it be tragic like or life? Or maybe uplifting like her optimistic personality? It was a daydream that lasted several moments before Tristen snapped her out of it.
"Who's Emily?" Tristen asked. Daydream looked up from her .... Well, daydream and blinked several times in shock. She thought she must've misheard him as he sat there eating his racho things. Did he just....? Daydream didn't remember ever mentioning Emily. When he followed it up by asking if she was Daydream's 'squeeze' she turned even more red.
"She's my girlfriend." She said. Why was that embarrassing? It seemed a little condescending the way he put it. Like he was poking fun at her for being interested in women. She was into men too, she just happened to be in a relationship with a woman. Not that it was any of his business. She looked at Tristen with narrowed eyes and her lips curled back into her mouth. The tight seal of her tucked in lips caused her mouth to appear as a straight line as she tried to figure him out. "How'd you know bout Emily?" She asked. She wasn't really suspicious as much as she was curios. She tried to think back and remember if she had mentioned her. Nope. She didn't mention her. Not even when she was explaining why she couldn't go back to the mansion and lead Gavin there.
Daydream crossed her arms across her chest. She was a little on the defensive side at this point. "What girls can't like other girls? That it?" She asked with a slight tone of annoyance. She had always been attracted to both sexes, but girls were softer. More compassionate. They were less likely to tear you heart out. Tell that to Libby. She thought bitterly. Stop getting distracted! She yelled at herself internally. She started at Tristen wondering how he could have known....
Kendra was a photographer. She sometimes took pictures of nature and things like that but mostly people. Mutants. That was her main focus. She worked for a magazine that did human interest pieces that did articles on the relationship between humans and mutants. She had a job, but it wasn't full time. It was on her own schedual and mostly freelance. She could use the extra cash flow and she did enjoy Xavia's company. She thought perhaps that when she suggested showing her the greenhouse it had something to do with her biology class. Is it still called biology if it's dealing with plants? She didn't rightly know.
Kendra nodded and stood up from the grass. She took the time to brush herself off at the few leaves and blades of grass that clung to her. Looking around she offered Xavia a hand up. I can do this. She thought. It'd be nice to have a purpose around here. She wasn't used to just freeloading and that's a little what she felt like. She wasn't young enough to be a student and she wasn't hurt or scared. She didn't need shelter because she was abused she just needed a roof over here head. The mansion had accepted her with open arms and she thought helping Xavia teach her class would be a good way to contribute and pay them back for their kindess.
"Sure thang honey let's go check it out." Kendra's conversation was sprinkled with things like 'honey' 'sugar' 'darling' it was a product of the down south Georgia way of speaking. It was the equivlant of saying friend or buddy or miss or madam. It wasn't meant to be taking seriously and to Kendra she never even gave it a mometns' thought causally tossing out a sweet word dripped into her conversation like little kisses for punctuation.
Kendra wondered how a class full of kids would even take to her. Would she be there during class? Or just grading papers? She was a little nervous about the former. She wasn't terribly great in social situations and the thought of standing in front of a class even as a teachers assistant was more than a little intimidating, but she was willing to give it a shot. For now though, she wanted to see this greenhouse. Xaiva seemed excited about it, and that alone was enough to peak her interest.
Purple text = Dialouge White text = Awake Light pink text = Dream walking *Chat Alias* Melody (Daydream)
For a moment she was stunned. She opened the door and walked right into a tough conversation that she hadn't even really prepared herself for. Kendra instinctively pulled the towel up over her bruise trying to cover it from sight, but that wasn't really helping. There were other marks. Ones she couldn't hide no matter how bad she wanted to. She started to say something, but the words never came out. Her mouth hung open in frustrated aspiration and she just blinked.
The situation could have been better and what was worse. Emily was probably sitting out here listening to her feeling and silently trying to figure out what was wrong. Kendra felt her heart sinking. It wasn't a very nice feeling. She suddenly felt like a disappointment. She felt foolish and worst of all she felt guilt. Yeah she had gotten her but kicked last night, but she had also helped someone. Someone who almost well... Kendra didn't want to think about what almost would of happened to that poor woman if she hadn't came along. Still, she had gone out looking for trouble and she found it.
Kendra could tell that Emily wasn't pleased. She didn't like that look on her face. One side of Kendra's mouth pushed up in an apologetic smirk. Her wet hair clung to her bare shoulders as she moved across the room to the bed and sat down. She sat a little ways way from Emily. From the tone of her voice she could tell that she wasn't happy, but she didn't know how upset yet. Emily's poker face was better than hers apparently. Kendra wasn't a good liar. Even if she was Emily would sense it. So she came out with the truth.
"Well...." She started. Man this was going to be hard to explain in a way that didn't sound crazy. "I took'a walk last night. After we fella sleep. Just mostly wanted to clear my head'ofa feew thangs and step out into the city. I wanted to do somethang good. Was looking to maybe ..... I don't know be like one of the X-Men. Use my stupid gift for somethang useful for'a change." Kendra's voice trailed off.
Her eyes danced around Emily's face looking for any sign of forgiveness, understanding. She didn't quite understand it herself. She just wanted to do something good. She wasn't even sure what had spurred this along, but she felt like she could help people with her powers. And being in the mansion had made her realize that it was more possible than she thought. She wasn't trained or very graceful so of course she had taken a wallop, and half of her injuries resulted from her own clumsiness but still. It was reckless. It was dumb. "I'm sorry, don't be mad at me. I slipped out early this morning because I didn't want'chu to see me like this, but I saved a woman's life last night Em. I saved her." She didn't say another word. She held her breath and waited until Emily said something though she wasn't terribly excited to hear the lecture that was sure to follow.

Kendra moved around quietly humming along now to the song on the radio. She cast and glance over at Leon every so often but she was mostly interested in making sure the food was good. She didn't know that he hadn't have many home cooked meals, but she wanted this one to be nice just the same. It was her inner cook that wouldn't allow these steaks to be cook subpar. She was about to sprinkle a little more wine in the pan just so the steak could marinate a little and have the juice cook and infuse in it when Leon came up behind her and picked up the bottle.
She stopped what she was doing and watched as he took several long heavy swigs and set the bottle back down. A giggle escaped her lips. Did he know what that was? She wondered as he seemed to smack his lips. Kendra watched him a moment longer. Alcohol always effected her weird. Just one or two glasses of wine would probably put her on her but.
Kendra picked up the bottle and took a swing herself. A little one. She wasn't trying to get tipsy over a hot stove. Not when she was the world's clumsiest astral projector. But still enough to taste and verify that it was a good year. It didn't taste to bad. In fact, the mere sip excited her taste buds for the steak that was almost done. "Go'on now get'on back to the table this is almost done."
Moving back to the fridge she grabbed some microwave vegetables she had seen in there and popped them in the microwave. Microwaved veggies weren't the best but they would do for the occasion. While that cooked she grabbed two glasses and poured a little of the wine in each and set them on the table in front of Leon. Then she fixed up a few plates of steamed veggies and steak.
It wasn't exactly a dinner date, more a meal between two friends. She smiled lightly as she set the plate in front of Leon. Kendra took off her apron and hung it back up before grabbing her plate and joining him at the table. Before Leon could dig in she made him say grace as she bowed her head and got ready to eat.

Daydream was a freelance photographer. Mostly, she didn't work directly for anyone. She did have publications she frequently did work for though. Like the one that she was taking pictures for in the park. Daydream set her fork down and took a sip of her drink. Her eyes not leaving Tristen's gaze. "Well, i shop my pictures round a lot'o places, the main one though is for a little local magazine in Georgia called The Divide. It mainly focuses on the differences between humans and mutants. Somma my shots are of old folks in the park enjoyin life like they rightly should or a photo of the sun coming up over the horizons castin light on a bent blad'a grass. Doesn't really matter long'sas it fits with the article. And it's all very interpretive. I also get paid to take pictures of interesting mutant powers. Only if they gimme permission though. I'm not in the business of outing mutants that don't wanna be outted. This isn't a hateful publication. I read somma the articles before." Daydream forked in another bite and continued. "Most articles are submitted by pro mutant humans and even the articles themselves aren't really written by anyone on staff just faceless opinions of the minority."
The way The Divide worked was people who wanted to support the cause of equality could email in their own articles on certain subjects ranging from mutant powers, the registration act, government funded mutant assistant programs you name it. Daydream's photos were sent in and provided a soft backlight the articles. Mostly pictures of happy things or things of that nature. It was a good publication to help the mutant cause and it was all sent in anonymously so she never feared being outted herself. She used a fake name when she sent in her photos.... Madison Hope.
Daydream even had a few pictures of Tristen from the park. When he began to tunnel under the ground to confront her she had gotten a few pictures. She took them mostly on reflex she wasn't actually planning on sending those into her editor. Daydream didn't finish her breakfast. She got mostly done before she became full and gently pushed her plate aside.
Tristen would be the cover of the magazine for sure if she were to have taken some photos of him. In her room back at the mansion she actually had a copy of The Divide. The mainly featured article was about finding balance between friend and foe. Daydream's big brown eyes stared at Tristen for a moment, she could see the concern deepening in his brow. "I don't blame you for anythang you did Tristen. I'm sure you had'ya reasons. Like I said. Your'ra good person too. I got a sense bout these sorta thangs."

The scent of roses filled the air and it caused Kendra to turn and look for the source. It took her a few moments to realize that it was coming from Xavia. That's interesting she thought. She supposed it shouldn't be surprising she seend to have plant based powers after all. She was looking better too. The sun must heal her. Well, at the very least she knew that she wasn't the only one with unusual powers.
Kendra slipped down from the table and settled in down on the grass beside Xavia. The sun was still bright and shiny in the sky, the birds around the ground seemed to be happily chirping away. There was the faint sound of laughter drifting through the grounds and all and all just a warm feeling of safety and peace here. She hadn't stopped to really notice these things before.
Kendra was a photographer by trade. She spent a lot of time taking pictures of natures and the outdoors, but she never particularly was a fan of nature. She found beauty in it. She found peace in it, but she never took the time to just sit and enjoy it like this. Funny how that works.
Kendra settled in down on the grass and placed her hands behind her head as well. Looking up at the clouds she yawned and felt the urge for a nap pulling over her. She was still so very tired from a restless night of astral projection. The fact that her body slept through the night did little to help her brain which was always on. She felt a light headache pulsing around her temples and gently closed her eyes taking in the warmth of the sun.

Kendra really hadn't thought about it until she brought it up. Usually when she was invisible she tried to hide in the shadows. Not let herself be known. But when she did find herself striking up a conversation she sometimes had to remind herself that she was invisible. It was just so easy to forget you were when you're talking to someone who seems to sense you and isn't freaked out by your ability. Kendra could see herself. Though she appeared slightly translucent and with a pink glow.
"Ok... That was a stupid idea I suppose. No one at the coffee shop would problly take to kindly to a floatin coffee cup. Well. Ok than, guess Ima put a hitch'n ma giddyup and skidaddle on outta here." She said turning to leave. She didn't seem to be under arrest at the moment. "Night officer." She said starting to head out of the alley.
Kendra did have to get back soon anyways. Her injuries weren't unbearable but she supposed she needed to get them looked at anyways. She wouldn't last long out here as a crime fighter if she didn't take care of her body. Kendra started to walk and the shifting of her body wihle just walking and not teleporting caused a strain on her ribs. She instinctively reached a hand up to nurse her ribs as she started to limp away.
She was going to walk home just for the fresh air, but walking actually hurt at the moment. She left Quin alone in the alley. She began to teleport in little bursts. A few feet here, a few there. She teleported from the alley and on the next street without another word. She teleported until she was back at the X-Mansion and was able to collapse in a comfy chair. She spent most of the rest of the night thinking about her crazy adventure.

Kendra climbed up on the little picnick table that they had been sitting at. Sitting on the table itself she clasped her hands in her lap and just watched as students and mutants moved about the grounds. The wind started to blow lightly causing her red flowing maine to blow lightly around her face. Her eyes narrowed against the brightness of the sun and she just watched. She thought about the younger mutants at the school and how their lives were just beginning. How like her once upon a time ago were full of hope and potential. There wasn't much hope in her life if she was being completely honest she felt kind of listless. Going through the motions. Things were good, that wasn't the problem. She had a girlfriend and a place where she felt welcomed and wanted, but she didn't have her family. She didn't have any close friends aside from the ones she had met here.
She reached up and tucked her hair behind her ear to get it out of her face. Looking down she saw Xavia lying in the grass relaxing. Neither one of them were really talking much because no words really needed to be said at the moment. When Kendra finally did break the silence it was with a question. A question that had been roaming around her mind for awhile. She didn't ask it before because she didn't know how to bring it up, but she honestly wanted to know that Xavia had someone.
"So...Where's your daughter Xavia?" She asked. Her words weren't judgmental or cold, but coming form a place of honest curiosity. Her voice was soft and patient as she continued to squint aganst the sun and stare out at a few mutant children playing with a football. She hoped Xavia's daughter was in a safe place. For both their sakes. The world was pretty cruel to mutants and their offspring.

"No I haven't been there long." She admitted to his question. The thought of having a honestly to god conversation with someone while she was invisible still kinda weirded her out. Most times she just watched people. She didn't speak up because most people would freak out and run away screaming. There were a few instances where it had happened but mostly she didn't engage people in this way. She found herself wishing she wasn't invisible. She could feel a constant pressure on her chest and legs. She had come to know this feeling as her girlfriend's arms and legs draped over her sleeping body. If someone were to touch her body while she was asleep she would feel it just the same as falling down in her dream and getting hurt would cause her body to toss and turn uncomfortably in her bed.
Daydream knew this was going to sound absolutely bizarre but she did it anyways. "Emily? Emily are ya there sugar?" She called out......Nothing. "Emily? You still there?" She called out again. When Daydream was astral projecting her body was connected. She was always two halves of the same person. Just like she could feel an arm draped over her body, which to be honest she didn't feel now; She could also somewhat communicate. By talking in her astral form it caused her body back in her bed to mumble in her sleep. It was something honestly hard to wrap her own head around she didn't expect it to be easy to comprehend for anyone else. But she wasn't gently shaken awake when she called out for her girlfriend so she had to assume that she had slipped away during the night to sleep in her own room.
Daydream looked at Artair. Moments ago when she was calling out to Emily, she was looking absentmindedly at the ceiling as if she was on some sort of special telephone. Now her brown eyes settled back on Artair. She shrugged and sighed. "Guess'n I'm lying in bed alone or she's ina deep sleep. Either way, you want to meet? At the very least I owe ya that much to apologize in person." She said. Her hand slipping down into her jacket to grasp at her cell phone. If she was alone in her room she wouldn't feel bad about calling the phone in her room and waking herself up. But first she was going to call a cab and have it head to the mansion so when she woke up she would have a ride ready and waiting. She figured it'd be much more fun for this guy to hang out with a living breathing body rather than an avatar for an astral projecting dream girl.
Daydream stood there a moment in awkward silence while she waited for his answer. She honestly loved meeting new and interesting mutants. Sometimes she had to battle back social shyness, but once the fear had left her and she realized Artair was actually kind of a nice guy, she didn't mind the thought of getting to know him better. His powers were so interesting she wanted to find out more about him. Besides sleep or no sleep for her she never felt rested. Didn't really matter if she slept or not, if she found someone interesting to interact with that was much more preferable.
