The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

Character's real name: Zain Falkon Codename: Cataclysm
Gender: Male Age: 30 Nationality: American Birthplace: Colorado Springs, Colorado Personality: Cold, virtually emotionless, knows right from wrong but he doesn’t care...... at all. Is pretty smart. With much effort he can be persuasive but most of the time prefers force over persuasiveness. Thinks of others as tools not people. A very good liar, and uses it to his advantage mainly to gain access to things or people. Zain loves to torment the homo sapien race, if somebody tries to get in his path even when their removed out of his way he will later return to that opponent to continue damage to them. When he does show emotion it seems to be mimicked from what he sees of others, or if he does shoe emotion he blows it out of proportion. He considers himself the highest form of life there is none greater then himself.
Notes:
Side: Evil
Everyday clothing: Built like an NFL Linebacker, his eyes cold, emotionless and gray. Shaggy black hair. Wears a black under armor shirt, and some dark blue baggy jeans. Uniform: When using his abilities he can take a lot of forms he can entirely cover his body in rock making him looks like a golem or more commonly he just covers his body in a brown or gray colored rock armor that still shows his face, the armor is rough so contact with it may split skin it protects him from most brute force, but not superhuman brute force.
Pajamas: Boxer Briefs
Hair color and style: He possesses short jet black hair that spikes up abit. Eye color: Gray Height: 6"4 Build: Built like an NFL Linebacker
Scars: Scar between his left eyebrow all the way to his left cheek. Tatoos: None Piercings: None
Description of ability(ies): He has a control of rock and other earthy substances and can use his control in many ways. One way he utilizes his powers is to cover his body in rock or thick layers of mud to create an armor which incenses his strength, size and durability. Other uses are to move boulders or chunks of earth to throw at the opponents, or to block an attacks. With much concentration he can even to raise the elevation of a certain plot of land. He can also make small cracks in the earths crust the size and damage the crack does will be raised as his experience does. He cannot control any metals, only minerals and such substances.
Cons (weaknesses) of ability(ies): The only weakness Cataclysm possesses is the weaknesses of heat, fire. This can kill him, but not that easily.. It will take some shots before Cataclysm is officially dead.
Fighting style (if any): None
History: Raised in Colorado by just his father (His mother left when he was still a baby because of the abuse from his father) who was a alcholic, and who was also very abusive both verbally and physically. Not growing up with anyone who showed love to him, he really can’t love, he can fake it but not truly love someone.
Always been tall and athletic, but to kind of to himself. He always had to make excuses for the bruises his father left him with. Played football in school as a form of getting his aggression out. He was very good but had a huge temper and always ended up getting tossed from the games even in junior high.
He would single out a smaller player on the other team and make them miserable. He would do the same at school pick on a few individuals singling them out making their school experience horrid, in one instance a kid he picked on committed suicide. The parents tried to file charges against him but their was nothing they could do.
The day he graduated highschool(with honors might I add) is they day he discovered his powers, the ceremony had just ended and he was going out with some “friends”, but before he could leave the kid who’s life he had ended, his older brother was hiding in the locker room where he was changing, and tried to kill him. The guy tried to pull out a knife so Zain took of running towards the door fleeing from his assailant.
Zain finally made it outside were a couple of the kid's friends were waiting. The group punched and kicked Zain waiting for their hate filled leader so he could get a few blows. That had been to much for Zain; with all that stress his powers activated raising rock debris over his body making an armor coating the thugs got scared and ran away. Zain now aware of his new powers awaited the kid with the knife.
When the kid came running through the doors Zain grabbed the kid by his throat and threw him to the ground , the kid retaliated with a swing of his knife of course it bounced right of his armor. After knocking him to the ground, Zain laughed and with an evil grin started using his new powers to slowly stone the kid, one rock at a time.
Eventually the boys parents found him barely hanging on to life in the gymnasium, the boy was so traumatized that he couldn’t speak after the ordeal. Their was no evidence leading to Zain at the scene because he never touched the rocks physically, Zain’s secret was never found.
Later that night after attending a party, he came home his drunk father was their to great him, after cussing Zain out, he punched his own son in the face(it’s not like it was the first time). Zain with his new powers made his father wish he hadn’t pulled that last straw. Zain entombed him in a rock shell with no oxygen, slowly suffocating him, and when he figured his father was about to die he would re-open the shell, let him catch a small breath, then close it again. He did this one or two more times till his father was unconscious. Finally Zain ended his miserable life by causing part of the mountain by their house to collapse onto his house and his father.
Zain later began to experiment with his powers for about two years all he did was steal what he needed to survive, and train in the mountains. Later he went on larger crime sprees robbing banks or destroying small towns(very small, podank, nobody knows towns). The police couldn’t stop him because he would thicken his armor to protect him from even bullets.
Zain has higher aspirations though, he wants to find other mutants and recruit them to help him in his goals for conquering the earth. While watching the news he saw the large amounts of mutants fleeing in New York from all the persecution. He figured this would be a good place to start so he bought a ticket to New York. Where he has been watching a few select mutants for awhile now with the interest of recruiting them.

NPC Definition
NPC stands for Non-Player Character; in other words, a side-character that comes up once in a while to fill a role in a thread that a PC (real character, ie, Player Character) can’t. The various hot dog sellers, taxi drivers, and average citizens of the MRO-verse are NPCs. Most NPCs only appear a few times; some, like the Sanctuary’s receptionist Lisa, have been popping up around MRO for years. An NPC can be played by anyone, but it’s always polite to get permission from their creator first if you’re planning something drastic, like have them hit by a car, or eviscerated. Generally, the more time an NPC has been on MRO, the more respect you should treat them with. Mugger that randomly appeared in a thread? Cannon fodder. Lisa? Major General of Don’t-Touch-Her-Or-Else.
Guidelines for Using NPCs
There is some confusion about where the line between an NPC and a PC is. In the words of one of our members: “I think you should find an NPC to fill a purpose, rather than the other way around.” An NPC should be in your thread for a clear purpose that a real character (PC) couldn’t fill. You shouldn’t invent reasons to have your NPC in a thread, just because you like them.
In general, NPCs should not star in their own threads or have posts that are told from their perspective, unless they are filling a role that no PC can (such as guest starring as the thug you're about to kill). If you can use a PC instead, use a PC whenever possible.
Can I make an NPC, and then turn it into my second/third character when I get enough posts?
If you get attached to an NPC you have made, you can make them into a true character once you have earned enough posts. However, you should not use the NPC as a regular character until you have earned them their own account. They can cameo in your other character's threads, but they should not become a main character in threads until you have earned enough posts to get them their own character account. Please do not use an NPC as an excuse to get around the post requirements for additional characters.
Please keep in mind, as well, that upgrading an NPC to a PC is not guaranteed, especially where power concerns come into play. An NPC might be over-powered as a PC, or overlapping another PC chara’s power turf, and therefore subject to veto. NPCs do not have veto rights over any incoming characters.
Does my NPC need an NPC Profile?
Are you only planning to use the NPC for a few threads? Will the NPC probably not be used by other people? Don’t bother with a profile.
Are other players using your NPC frequently, and they need a reference for what the character looks/acts like? Then you might consider making an NPC Profile to keep everyone on the same page.
NPC profiles don't need Mod approval, and they don't need to be fully fleshed out like real profiles. Just fill in the information from the regular Character Profile that you think is relevant and/or interesting, and post it on theNPC Profiles thread.
Please keep your NPC’s profile updated for any major changes, ie, age, occupation switches, massive personality changes, etc. If they die, delete the profile, or make a note of it (it’s fine to leave an NPC profile up as a tribute to a well-loved NPC lost).
