If you would like to take that approach, it sounds great! I can see it working out that way as well. Also, Gina's friends and Order peeps taking revenge early on would work wonders on tensions getting higher before the protests kick off. I don't see protests starting until there is a press release stating that the officers will not be charged. That would give people a chance to roleplay in a high tension environment in which chaos is not yet an issue. Perhaps soon after that announcement, the plot to have Maxine attacked can get rolling?

Talking time frame, I think we could wait as long as a month after the Gina attack for the press release to come up, and the second attack to happen. That would give people enough time to enjoy a less mutant friendly NYC without people smashing in store windows and flipping cars left and right.

After that, we start the protests? Soon after, I imagine people from the Order might not mind escalating the protests into full scale riots?

The riots could find their way into several areas of the city, and the X-men could have missions to quell riots in several places as well. I know that I will be setting up threads with Roach, for any Order members who want to ruin the X's days at every turn. The way he would see it, the X-men would be traitors for siding with the NYPD when it comes to quelling the riots.

That all sound good to you guys? Any more thoughts?

Edit for Alice's post: That's what I was thinking. I want protests before riots, and I would like people to have a chance to go out prepared for a peaceful protest, and have their characters experience everything going suddenly and horribly wrong around them.

I am very much liking the sound of this. So much inter-Faction conflict potential.

This potential single thread plot Kite and I were thinking up could possibly happen during the tension period before the riots. It would be more for the mutants who are trying to make peace, though it is open to the idea of someone trying to sabatoge things. The idea is still raw, but here's the link:

So, this probably won't affect much of anyone but just in case: in June/July Cafas and Allison went on a pretend date, during which they were not-pretend attacked by a hate group; Cafas got beat up and Allison got shot in the leg. However, since this was arranged for publicity, it was recorded (and got onto the news, though there's been no reference to how much it was talked about, and I've been assuming it prettymuch disappeared after one mention). The idea came up that, in Maxine's crusade against anti-mutant violence, she could uncover and rebroadcast that video, along with any similar ones that may exist. So, anyone who was previously beat up at some point that was or may have been recorded that Maxine could find has that option as well.

*edits* Cafas and I also talked about having Cafas and Allison possibly create a compilation video along those lines to try spreading around, but that was prior to the Maxine idea so I'm not sure if that's something we still are thinking about/could fit in.

I'd like to point out that if you would like to add some political chaos to it, there is Sledge. His mutation might not be the most visible, but he is from England and could pass himself off as a tourist if the need be. Police brutality on a foreigner would spark debate. Just look at what happened withElián González, and the political minefield that is Julian Assange. Granted in neither one of those cases the police abused the people. There were certainly sparks that flew about racial profiling in the aftermath of 9-11. I think I read somewhere about a British teen being charged for piracy or something like that, in the United States for using a file sharing program. Sledge has that innocent look to him too, and it's not as though he hasn't gotten hurt before. He also is muchly a con artist and would be willing to go along with a scam that the Order plans up.

I would be completely willing to participate this in some way shape or form. I mean, this seems like something all the Lupin's can participate in so if you need anyone else for this I would be more than willing to port in.

Just as a Modly status report: I know Saph is hashing out the official plot description, so this plot will be starting up soon (probably sometime after Turkey Day is over in the states). You can expect a Mass PM and an update of the Plots tab when it does.

Yes, most definitely Syn would be up for that! *Smiles happily* She would be more than delighted to be part of the catalyst that tears a city apart emotionally and physically.
