The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

'Nyle, who is this?' Tricity asked. "Well Tricity, in short, a friend. That much I can tell. He needs a safe place." Though he was not up to it, he did his best to make a joke. "I wouldn't ruin my shirt for just anyone." Anyone could tell by his voice he had forced it, that he had no smile in him at the moment.
'I owe you one Eldwyn... thanks.' He took Zeke's hand, and smiled slightly, unforced no less. "Don't mention it, it's what friends do. I'd appreciate the explanation, clear some things up, heh."
'Di-did I just say that?!' His brow furrowed a bit more. 'I know he's not like me. He can't control my mind, if he could, he would have at the gate. I've NEVER called anyone friend so quickly.' Sighing mentally, 'But there's something about him..I can't quite put my finger on it..'
'Would you two excuse us for a moment, please?' Looking at Zeke for a moment he turned to Tricity, "Of corse ma'am, I'll be right outside." He backed up a few steps and bowed before turning and going out the door. Leaning heavily against the wall outside the infirmary, he stared up at the celing for a few minutes before speaking, "I need my violin." He said in a sigh, and dropped his head to his chest.

Zeke smiled at the headmistress. "I heard Eldwyn mention the name Tricity. Nice name. It's nice to meet you Tricity. In short, I really wish we could have met under other circumstances, but I guess that's impossible now isn't it? The past has alreayd been written."
Zeke took a deep sigh and let out a small cry of pain when Tricity applied the alcohol. Needless to say, the alcohol on an open wound had not felt very good, but he understood that it was for the best, it would clean the wound, no matter how bad it felt. Besides, it was the least of his worries today.
"Let me start at the beginning Tricity. The very beginning. It would be hard to explain to you what has happened, unless I started there." A deep breathe, which he typically took often, "Allright, my full name is Ezekiel White. I was born in Jerusalem, Israel, and I lived there for most of my life. My father was a mutant, and when the old Brotherhood found out, they murdered him. With the help of a man named Shma."
Zeke turned his head is small circle and then continued, "My mother escaped for a little while, but was eventually found. She was brutally executed, after enduring quite a bit of degration and toture." Zeke wasn't even emotional here, he just kept sighing, "She hid me. To this day, I'm not quite sure how she did it. But I grew up in the home of a protestant pastor in Jerusalem. It's rare to find those you know."
Zeke could tell he had Tricity's attention by now, "When I was in my teens, I discovered I was a mutant. I freaked. My power allows me to create and manipulate a chemical known as sulfur. If a water source is nearby, I can also create sulfiric clouds, made of sulfiric acid, and finally create acid rain. I was scared to death when I learned the truth about myself. I left the church immediately, and never returned. Then I ran into a man called Shma. Shma took me in, and used me. For years, he used my ability to control me, threatining to reveal who I was to the Brotherhood. When the Brotherhood fell apart, I left him, but only after much hardship."
Another deep sigh, "Here's the crazy part. A year later, on my own I discovered he had helped, and encouraged the murder of my parents. I couldn't help myself. Only a few weeks ago I happened to be near Shma's house, and I took revenge. It was probably a rash thing to do, but my parents were murdered by this guy in vicious fashions!! I took the law into my own hands and killed the guy. It was wrong I admit, and I have already asked forgiveness, but I must also say that Shma has been hunting me down to kill me ever since I left his control."
Ezekiel spotted an unopened water bottle on a nearby table and grabbed it. He shifted in his seat once more, took a sip of the water, and then replaced the bottle on the table. He continued, "I met a girl named Beth. She called herself Nightdream on occasion. Another mutant. She gave people visions. In short, I had a vision from her to come to New York. This morning, early, about 1 am, we were in New York City together. We were assailed by an evil mutant, and to make a long story short, she died in my arms. I fell asleep in shock, and then I had another vision."
Using his hands took explain, Zeke kept talking, "That vision led me here. Told me someone was coming. Then, when Eldwyn let me in, when I fell and hit the concrete, it must have been fate. I had another vision until I woke. A vision that told me that this school is in danger. A mutant, evil, continues to say in my dreams, 'My duty is to kill', and from what Beth told me, the school is in danger because of this man. Beth continues to haunt my dreams now, and I think she will as long as I live, because she mentioned something like that right before I died. In short, it gives me a minor portion of future sight, IF she wishes to reveal something to me. She has revealed to me that I am here for a reason. That I am here to aide in this school's defense."
"It's natural for me to defend, I would say that if I specialized in anything, it would be defending. I'm up for the task that I need to do, and trust me, I must do this. Don't take my story lightly. There IS a mutant out there who wants to kill members of this school, and you're going to need me and my dreams and my mutant powers to help stop him. All I need is a place to stay right now, and myabe some acceptance. I'm willing to do whatever you need me to do, whatever type of pledge I have to take to be considered this school's protector, but I believe that is MY duty."
Zeke let out a lot of air from his lungs. That had been a long speech. Hopefully Tricity would believe him. It was the turth after all... the school was in danger, and Glare was one of the few who could help. "By the way, my codename is Glare, but most people call me Zeke."

SHMA's RESIDENCE
A guard simply named "Rack" walked up to Ira. He looked him over with a critical look and tried to size him up. Looked a little dangerous, sweet ride though.
"Yes sir, may I help you in some way?"
Rack had his sidearm ready in case the man tried anything. With the recent murder of his employer, Rack was going to take any chances. His hand rested on the pistol in it's holster cautiously.
Ira dug into one of the many pockets in his pants and produced a small I.D. card that he'd found hidden inside the notebook. It stated that the bearer of the I.D. was a bounty hunter working for a Mr Ferg.
"Ah, yes you could perhaps help me. I need information about the murder of this property's recently deceased owner. Were you on guard duty on that night?"
Tricity didn't say anything for a few moments, but kept staring in the man's eyes. "Well, okay." It was the only thing she could really say. Everything came out of his mouth so quickly that it was still sinking in. "You can stay here, but you needn't worry about having to pledge yourself to us." She smiled lightly at him and turned to the Doc Prof to ask him to tell Nyle to join them once more.
Tricity pulled up the nearby chair and sat down. The Doc Prof came back over and worked on Zeke's wound as Tricity tried to find words. "Just rest for now...please. Gather your strength and we can talk about this a little later. You'll be safe here." In actuality, she was very curious about who was planning to attack the mansion, but he seemed so distraught and he'd had been through A LOT today.

Doc opened the door and spoke, "You may come in now." Eldwyn looked at him and nodded. Following the Doc into the room, he leaned agaisnt the wall, his arms accross his chest and his legs crossed, all his weight on one foot. His furrow had not deminished. He was begining to get a bad feeling about this. Not from this man Zeke, but about the whole situation. He didn't like it. Normally, a bad feeling ment it's time to leave some place.
He didn't want to leave for a few reasons, he finally found a place that felt like home, right away, he really liked it here. He liked the people here, they are few in number, so far. He wanted to find out about this man. And he wanted to see this thing through, 'Curriosity killed the cat. Remember that.' 'Oh shut up, I know! But, it's interesting.' If the school was really in danger...*a picture of Millie and the other children flashes through his mind* 'I'll do everything I can to keep them safe!' Unbeknownst to him, his fists had been clenching hard enough to make every knuckle in both hands crack and pop, while his fingers had probably made nice indents into his palm.

SHMA'S RESIDENCE
The guard simply turned his head and looked carefully at Ira. He still couldn't quite place the man, but his badge was really what had him concerned. Mr Ferg eh? Mr. Ferg.... hmmm...
Rack thought about it for a moment, and then decided it was probably in his own best interests to help this guy out. After all, a friend of Mr. Ferg's was a friend of Shma's. And a friend of Shma's was a friend of Rack's. So ultimately these two were friends... right?
He tooked his hand off his gun and rubbed his chin thoughtfully. "Bounty hunter eh? I wonder if you're hunting the same guy we are?"
Rack shifted his body weight and then stepped carefully along an inviisble line he had created on the ground. An annoying habit to be sure. "I can answer any questions you have of my late employer, but I was not on duty that night. In fact, no one can remember being on duty that night. It was strange I tell you. No guard in the employ of Mr. Shma ever remember's being on duty, and since no log is kept, there is really no way to determine who was and who wasn't. And no guard can remember anything anyway, so I'm afraid even if you found a guard who was on duty that night, they couldn't help you.
However, I will be glad to answer any questions I can reguarding my employer."

SCHOOL INFIRMARY
Zeke smiled, "Thank you Tricity. Please note that I really want to help you and yours here, and if possible, maybe someday become one of you. I don't have a family or a home anymore, so maybe this could be home..." Zeke motioned his arms to everyone in the room, "... and my family."
He nestled his head back against the pillow. She was right, he needed to get some rest. The night had been long and hard, and he was extremely tired. His body had not slept for over twenty-four hours. It had been a very, very long day. Not everybody goes from leaving an airport in peace to running for your life in a matter of a day. It had been bizarre to put it plainly.
He took another sip from the water bottle, and closed his eyes. It was hard to sleep but finally he was able to quiet his heart and mind. Tonight perhaps he would sleep in a room and in a real bed, but for right now, he needed rest no matter where and how he got it. With a final deep breathe, he fell into a deep sleep. And dreamt.
No guard remembered that night. 'bloody perfect'. Ira cursed silently and tried to think of what to ask next, looking at the guard's feet. Ira looked up at the guard's face and asked "What do you know about a man name Ezekiel White?"
Tricity gave a bright smile to the man and patted his hand in comfort, nodding to the Doc Prof to continue watching over him. She backed away from the bed and stood next to Nyle who seemed deep in thought. "Nyle..." she said simply and linked arms with the young man, pulling him along and out of the infirmary.
Once they were outside and walking down the hallway, Tricity spoke softly to him as many of the children were running passed them. "I know you haven't been here very long with us, but since you happened to be the first to meet Zeke, I was wondering if you wouldn't mind watching after him a bit. He seems...very upset right now. I'd do it myself, but," she touched her pregnant stomach and then looked back at him, "I've been ordered to bed rest. If the Doc saw me going back and forth in the infirmary to check on Zeke, he'd be all over my ass. Do you think I could give you a radio and you could keep my updated on his progress?"

He hadn't really been hearing things for a few minutes. It took a little bit for Tricity's words to sink in. "Ah, yeah. Not a problem." He looked at her and tried his best to smile. His brain didn't seem to be functioning well at the moment."I'll let you know if anything new happens." He patted her hand lightly and gave a half smile.
"Thank you so much, I owe you big time." She looked his face over a bit and then caught his eye. "Are you alright? Is this kind of rattling you a bit?" Tricity tried to read him, but it was a bit hard. He seemed a little out of it. "Maybe...I can ask someone else instead?"

"I'm..I'll be fine." He sighed and looked her in the eyes. "I'll say it right now, hes not as calm as he is now for nothing. I know you told me not to, but I influenced him at the gates before I let him in. He seemed like his heart would exploid and he would start tearing out his hair soon, or at the least black out from being so distraught. I gave him three suggestions, Calm and Trust, and to tell me what's going on. He was extreamly vague at first. He reisisted the last one easily. Which tells me he was hhiding something, and didn't want to tell me. Though he did explain enough for me to feel I could let him in. He seemed to have a good reason for not telling me, so I'm intriegued, but also concerned and worried." He looked away from her, sorta looking into the distance, "When he said the mansion was in danger, the first thing that came to my head was the kids. I lost my baby sister, right in front of my eyes, and I don't want to see another young one hurt or worse." Looking back at her. "He will explain to me later, possibly tonight if he's awake and feels willing, what's goin on." Now he smiled, happily, but with a hint of something else, a sort of comical cat's sly currius smirk, "Besides, he's interesting. I like him. I can't say why right now, but I called him 'friend'. It's rare I call anyone friend, and especially not that quickly... If ya get what I mean."
After a pause, "Though, completely off subject, I have this crazy strong urge to play a violin." Laughing not only at himself but to try and calm the woman.

The dream. The same dream. He had dreamt it when he had hit his head on the concrete, and now he had the same dream in the infirmary bed. The running through the fields. Beth's voice. The evil chanting mutant. Zeke bolted up from the end of his dream in a cold sweat. The school was definitely in danger. If not immediately, it would be soon.
He looked around the infirmary. Didn't look like anyone was here. Outside the window, the sky was darkening, and it was getting closer to the night. In fact, it could be night already. How long had he slept? There was no way to tell... because he hadn't checked the time when he fell asleep.
Staggering a little, Zeke slipped out of the bed and down the hall. He smoothed out his wrinkled black sil outfit, and glanced left and right to see if he could find anyone. Specifically he was looking for Nyle, and maybe the headmistress so he could find a room to stay in. A personal room.
A thought ripped through his mind. Join them. It played over and over again, and craziest part of it all was the fact that it was not Zeke's voice in his mind. It was Beth's. Nightdream's ability went beyond her body. It was a force of it's own. Crazy. But join them how? This was a school, not a training facility for warriors... or was it? Zeke kept walking and a door on his far left caught his attention. He walked up to it. Clearly on the front a sign said, "Training, Danger Room".
What kind of school had a Danger Room? Not a school where kids learned their ABCs. There was more to this place, much more. And where were the leaders? He had seen only Nyle and Tricity, and no other professors or deans or wardens or whatever they called the leaders in a boarding school. Could it be possible that this place was a training facility of mutants, a place where the eldest became members of an elite group? The thought came through his mind because of his rememberance of the Brotherhood. An elite group of mutants who joined together to fight. Could it be possible this school was home to a similiar group, only a group that sought good instead of evil? The thought dazzled him.
Zeke kept walking, and so far no one had seen him. He found another door that was unmarked down the end of the hall. In fact, this door looked unassuming, the type that was probably not to be opened. Zeke tried the door and found it suprisingly open. He stepped inside, only to find himself at the top of a winding staircase. Walking down the stairs briskly, he reached the bottom and found another door. Locked.
What could be here? Locked. He looked around for a key. Nothing yet. Finally he had a thought. Throwing his hand up to the keyhole, he filled the slot with sulfur, and then used his power to harden the sulfur instantly. There it was, a solid sulfiric key. He turned the key and the latch opened. Slowly he stepped through the door.
He was stopped short. There in front of him was a helicopter-looking vehicle. Something like he had never seen before, yet this thing looked capable of combat and transport.
What is this place? Painted onto the side of chopper, Zeke could see a dull symbol. It looked like the letter 'X'.
Zeke spun on his heels and ascended the stairs once more, grabbing the key after relocking the door behind him. Moving quickly down the hall, Zeke looked around. He still couldn't find anyone. Finally, he ran into the doctor, known generally as the DocProf.
"Sir, I need to speak with Tricity immediately, do you know where I might find her."
The DocProf had a gleam in his eyes, and he could tell Zeke needed to speak of something of importance. In fact, he realized that Zeke typically didn't speak unless it was important. He smiled and nodded. "Follow me young sir."
He led Zeke to Tricity's room, where strangely enough they found Nyle and Tricity talking to one another.
Zeke spoke instantly, as he found a break in their conversation. "Miss Tricity, exactly what kind of school do you run here? I don't mean to be nosy, but there is danger coming, and I noticed that there doesn't seem to be very many adult mutants left around here, like I would expect it to be in a school. Has something happened to all of your group members? What do you call yourselves. Please don't lie to me, this is not just a normal school, this is a training facility that creates an elite group of mutants... right?"
Catching his breathe, he finally spoke again, "Plus, I have more news. Whatever this group is, I feel I must join. You must understand, that the dream has told me this. The dream has told me I must become a guardian here. Whatever I need to do to help, I need to do. I must join you and your little group. I must help defend this place."
Zeke felt better already. The wound on his head he could only barely feel, and he was ready for action. Join them.

Eldwyn looked up and haulted his words when Zeek came into the room. 'He talks fast when hes upset.' Eldwyn looked at the man straight in the eyes, "Oh, you're awake, I'd say its about time." He let out a small laugh, "Ezekiel, calm down. We can barely make out your words you're talking so fast." Tricity was in her bed, and Eldwyn was sitting on a chair next to it. There was another chair in the room, "If you'd like, you could sit down." With that the other chair moved swiftly as it rose into the air slighty and set back down a few feet from Tricity and himself. He half turned and put one arm over the back of his chair as he looked at Zeek.
"The adults here, ARE the teachers of the school. I've watched a few classes, just for fun, they seem to do a fine job. Since you're asking about training and select groups, I'll assume you've seen the Danger Room." He took a breath, not for any particular reason, it just felt nice to do every so often, nice deep breath. "The group you're wondering about is call the Xmen. If I understand things correctly, a lot of them are at a different facility. Most of the time they're off somewhere doing something." He waved his free arm in the are, turning and tipping his hand whimsicly. "A few members stay here to teach, watch over, and protect this school. Tricity is one of them. She's the only one I've personally met, but I know there are others around."
"If you're worried there aren't enough adults here to protect this place, don't be. They aren't the only ones who will and if I'm not mistaken, have." He looked at the woman in the bed and back to the man. "Though in honesty, we should probably let Tricity rest, since those are Doc's orders." Though he may have souneded serious, he had gained his usual smile back, which hadn't left his face the whole time since Zeek had come into the room.
