The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

Streak and his small team followed Cafas' destruction team into the building. As he entered the place he covered himself in his silver and readied for an attack of furniture. They were immediately met with people trying to rush out of the building. He just pointed to the now open glass that they'd entered through and the group blew past them. Their entrance didn't last long. Only about forty people were able to exit before the glass was fixed and there was no exit for the people anymore.
Streak spoke into his communicator, "Looks like we're going to need to find this person or we wont be able to get out." He then turned to his other teammates, gathered them around him and said, "Whoever is doing this now knows that we're here. They won't make finding them easy. There's a reason this person is here and we don't know how they're doing this we need to get to them as fast as possible. Stay close and keep your eyes open for anything coming at us. The harder it is to go somewhere the better chance it is that we're getting closer to this person."
With that he proceeded to lead his team through the mass of people that were cowering behind their cubicles, doorways, and pretty much anything they could to make sure that they weren't going to get attacked by the building. "Stay close and search every room. This person could be anywhere." Streak said to his people. No sooner had he said it than he was attacked by a chair. The normally comfy rolling chair freed its arms from the seat, legs extended and charged. The four legs worked like a mix between a crab and a spider's legs. But those weren't the problem. The real problem were the arms.
The arms flailed about trying to hit anything that came within reach. Unfortunately Streak was the closest thing. He quickly formed a spear out of his silver as it charged. The second his spear was fully formed the chair started to swing at him with its arms. The silver X-men blocked and countered hitting the back of it with the butt of his spear. "Spread out! Start clearing the building!" Streak said to his team while he dealt with the chair. It only took another couple of counters before his spear was impaled in the back rest of the chair. The demon chair was pinned to the ground and when Streak pulled his spear out the chair lay motionless. Streak just stepped over it and continued on his way looking around the first floor. Though he seriously doubted that the person they were looking for would be on this floor.

Jorge
Jorge recognized a small number of those gathered. Many of them were still pretty young. Probably the oldest person here, Jorge was twice the age of. He really did not mind but it made him all the more dutiful to want to make sure that these kids and young adults really had a chance to live life instead of just throwing it into the face of danger again and again. But these people were adults and it was not like he was their father. So he remained silent and tried to make sure to not be the one to try to father everyone; they were adults so they could take care of themselves.
>> "I'll take three others with me to find the mutant."
Jorge nodded. He knew Shawn, worked with him before (more liked hurtled through time with him) so he respected the young man greatly. Plus he knew his strengths and his powers seemed like a good compliment to his own for trying to get through a building that gained sentient life. Therefore there was little doubt that he would want to team up with him.
The detective slipped away once the team was gathered and he boldly followed the man into the building. The second team was already doing a good job of keeping the place open. As soon as the few people inside caught the whiff of fresh air, they bolted. With that team to protect them, Jorge continued on with Shawn and the others.
Not long after he stepped into the room, though, he was stopped by a young man…with orange skin and blue hair. He tilted his head and nodded to his fellow X-Man.
>> "Ssir? I recommended checking the ssecurity camerass for cluess and recon, I am going to climb to the top out here, but I think that would be a good place to start. I requessted the officerss had the power cut in ten minutess, sso thats a limited time advantage." He then pointed to a door just behind the lobby's greeting desk. " The ssecurity camerass will be jusst through that door."
He bowed and turned to leave. Jorge nodded to him.
“Thanks for the tip!” he said as he turned to head back to Shawn and the others, eyeing the security room.
>> "Looks like we're going to need to find this person or we wont be able to get out….Whoever is doing this now knows that we're here. They won't make finding them easy. There's a reason this person is here and we don't know how they're doing this we need to get to them as fast as possible. Stay close and keep your eyes open for anything coming at us. The harder it is to go somewhere the better chance it is that we're getting closer to this person."
Jorge agreed.
“Shawn, I’ll check the security cameras, like…’he’…suggested. I’ll catch up. We got 10 minutes before the police shut down power to the building.” The detective then moved off, he would have to learn that boy’s name, to the security room, opened the door, and paused at the sight.
TVs everywhere, depicting every scene that was happening in the building. People were in a panic, furniture was going haywire, mayhem was breaking loose on every floor. But nowhere did he see a sign of any suspicious mutant causing this whole mess. He began to flip through the different views when suddenly…he heard someone yell…
>> "Spread out! Start clearing the building!"
Jorge spun around and quickly bolted out of the room. Down the way he saw Streak…fighting with a chair? It had sprung to life and looked ready to rend flesh from bone. Looking off to the side, Jorge spied a drinking water dispenser. That was going to have to be his weapon. Running over, Jorge kicked over the fountain that immediately dropped the large, plastic blue bottle and began to spill water everywhere. A twist of his wrist the water sprang to life and began to circle around him.
Just in time too since some diabolical copy machines were rolling towards him. He narrowed his as paper was flung in his direction. Jorge sidestepped it and summoned the water around him before he released it in a jet stream, sparking the copy machine to burn out. He pulled more water to him and readied to aid a fellow X-Man that would surely need it.
But just as the man started to stare down a small army of staplers that were clinking and hopping mad towards him, Jorge heard the buzz of his communicator. He scrambled to answer it as he backed away from a stapler that tried to clamp down on his foot.
>> "Jorge, can you give me your current position and hold? I'm coming in with backup. I think I might be able to use my powers to help find this guy."
“Copy that!” Jorge said as he kicked a particularly nasty heavy duty stapler off to the side. “We came in past the evac team! We are just past the lobby and security room. Be careful, they were not kidding about this place!” He then shouted over his shoulder to the rest. “Keep this position! Kealey is on her way and she may know how to find this gu—OOMPH!!”
Jorge had never been tackled by a file cabinet before. It hurt.

The building...really was kind of in revolt, Kealey decided as she picked her way through the broken glass that littered the entryway. Things were moving everywhere, seemingly of their own volition, and they were violent...oh so very violent. The strangest thing though, was the complete absence of any kind of emotion. There were people all over the place who were scared to death and disbelieving, but all of these inanimate objects were completely without drive or emotion.
That meant they were puppets. That also meant that if there was someone around who wasn't scared, or at least the slightest bit disbelieving...they were probably the root of the issue. The plan was simple enough, the carry-through probably more difficult.
Kealey was admittedly a bit nervous at the moment, the lack of emotion in the building meant her powers were useless against the things that could actually do damage, and her physical skills were simply not all that impressive. She'd do what she could though, she always did. Besides, she thought with a glance in Ami's direction, she had help.
It didn't take long to find Jorge, thanks to his instructions, and Kealey couldn't help the startled little gasp that escaped her at the scene. Office supplies were everywhere and Jorge was currently being assaulted by a filing cabinet.
Kealey had never tackled a filing cabinet before, but she tried to now...and boy did it hurt, but it also caught the thing off guard and knocked it over where it struggled to right itself on the floor.
"You alright?" she asked, glancing around, "I'm all yours." she added, then nodded towards the younger woman. "There's still a lot of people in the building, I figure I'll look for the one who's not freaking out."
On the way in, she saw Gawain with his team. Pink hair, Becca, and more. They passed them, leaving Mr. Pink Hair Jenkins to his duties. Evacuating the building of people, and it looked like, glass.
Man, the building's furniture was making a mess.
Kealey tackled a filing cabinet, and Amelia noted, maybe she shouldn't have done that.
There were a few introductions, then Amelia chimed in after Kealey. "Name's Amelia. Ami for short."
"I can manipulate clothing. So," this was a new trick, but stripping her gloves off, she filled them with structures from her mind. The two gloves hovered in the air in front of her. She wiggled the fingers on hand hand at the bearded guy in a wave. "I can probably shove some furniture around from a distance. Tell me where I'm needed." She'd be glad to help.

“Copy that! We came in past the evac team! We are just past the lobby and security room. Be careful, they were not kidding about this place! Keep this position! Kealey is on her way and she may know how to find this gu—OOMPH!!†Streak heard Jorge start talking and relaying their position to Kealey over the communicators. That was until he was cut off by something. Streak didn't have time to look and see what it was but he was pretty sure that Jorge could take care of himself. He was a cop after all.
Luckily the chair stayed down after he stabbed it. Aside from the big hole that was now in it, it only looked like a lifeless chair. Streak was glad of the people that were on his team.He hadn't actually worked with Kealey before but he knew what she could do and he was glad that she had joined them. It was going to be a difficult task even with her, but it'd be even harder without her help. She brought someone that he didn't know, but she quickly introduced her self as Ami. Streak took a glance at her... Then he did a double take. He certainly didn't recognize her. Was she even part of the team? She didn't look to sure of what she should do.
Streak moved back to where the others were, his silver spear pulled back into his body. Once they were all together he said, "Ok..." He glanced to the side. "Is that a filing cabinet? Never mind. Jorge check the cameras, see if you can find him. Me and Ami...Amelia right? we'll keep people safe and Kealey you can help Jorge. Once you find him, hopefully before the power goes out, we'll all move. Questions?" He hoped no one had any questions. There were plenty of people still that were getting attacked by furniture and they needed help before they could get rescued by the recovery team. They needed to move fast. The clock was ticking.

Jorge
Jorge had never gone toe-to-toe with a file cabinet so, needless to say, this was a rather interesting experience. The man fought, hard, but he was making little headway against this particular piece of office furniture. Thankfully, just as he felt the shock of the situation wearing down, there was a sudden burst of movement off to his side and the cabinet went flying off to the corner. Jorge breathed a sigh of relief as he felt air enter his lungs again. Damn that thing was heavy.
He moved into a sitting position and looked up to see, of all people, Kealey Quinn. The man had worked with her a couple times before so it was rather interesting to have seen her in such a way. He never had seen her take a flying leap at something like that before. He smirked thankfully as he moved onto his feet.
>> "You alright? I'm all yours…”
He nodded in response. “Yeah, thanks to you,” he grinned and then turned to check on Shawn. The silver manipulating X-Man had just finished impaling a rogue chair.
>> “There's still a lot of people in the building, I figure I'll look for the one who's not freaking out."
>> "I can manipulate clothing. So, I can probably shove some furniture around from a distance. Tell me where I'm needed."

Jorge stood back and let the elder X-Men members hash out the details. He had to admit that he was a bit impressed with the crew they managed to get in for this assignment: he had worked with Shawn before and he knew this abilities fairly well, Kealey would be quick to find whoever was causing this, and even the young girl (Ami was her name?) had a pretty valuable skill there. Together they should hopefully be able to keep people safe and find whoever was causing this whole mess…
He nodded as directions were laid out. They were running out of time quickly. A glance to Kealey and he motioned for her to follow him.
“Come on, if we can locate him on the cameras and at least get a general location, you can use your powers so that we can narrow down the search,” Jorge said as he turned and headed back to the security room. Once inside, he began to move through the cameras on screen and started the search for their mysterious culprit.

Annnnd they were splitting up further.
”She’s barely even a rookie.” Kealey said to Streak, referring to Ami as they stood in the ruins of office supplies and furniture that littered the room. Hopefully the younger girl wouldn’t take offense, Kealey had to look out for everyone involved and she didn’t want Streak to think he had a veteran with him.
Jorge wanted her to come along, and Kealey nodded her head. The boys were taking the lead on this one and considering her limited intelligence with the situation she was ready to follow.
”Sounds like a plan. I’m pretty much just looking for the first person I can find whose feeling devious and pleased with themselves.”
Keeping people safe. She could do that. With the silver guy. That was cool. She nodded her head. "Ami. Yeah. Sounds great." She shot Kealey a look that said 'watch it', then added. "And I can handle myself." She'd traveled with Gandalf and battled with trolls, had she not? Or at least done some pretty hairy stuff in her day.
Big buildings attacking people was pretty hairy though, she agreed.
The gloves landed on her shoulders and rested there, ready to be used at any moment of need.

Streak didn't really care if Ami didn't have much experience with this sorry of thing. She was here do he was going to use her. He'd make sure she didn't get into too much trouble but the fact that she came along at all meant that he didn't have to worry to much about her.
The X-man was glad for the information that Kealey told him but he'd figure something out later if there was a problem. Streak took Ami with him and they started moving people in the rescuers direction. Hopefully they'd have a way out when the people got to them. Streak knew that a gaggle of people would be a bigger target than just a small group.
As soon as the silvermancer was away from the security room he reformed his staff and went on the defensive. "Come on everyone out!" Streak shouted over the yelling of panicked workers. "Go that way." He signaled to his left.
Just as he was finished pointing he was knocked sideways by a desk. "Oomf!" he got up and started swinging his staff at the desk, as he tried to keep it from running him over again. "Ami, go help someone." That was pretty much the extent of what he could say at the moment. The desk kept trying to charge him like a rhino. The voice of the man from Dodgeball came into his head. If you can dodge a desk you can dodge a ball The absurdity of the truth of that quote was unbelievable. He tried not to laugh as he jumped out of the was of another attack.

>> ”Sounds like a plan. I’m pretty much just looking for the first person I can find whose feeling devious and pleased with themselves.”
Jorge nodded as he led Kealey away. It sounded like a plan to him. He wondered just how far her powers extended. Could she sense the whole building and zoom in on the culprit from there? Or was she out of range? Either way, hopefully the security cameras could offer a glimpse at whoever it was that they were looking for. Maybe there would be a floor, a room that looked different? It was a long shot but it was the best idea that he could come up with at the moment.
Besides, the electricity was about to be cut and they needed to utilize every opportunity they had to find this psychopath.
“How far do your powers extend?” he asked. “Can you feel anything now?”
Once she answered, Jorge turned and began to scan camera screen after camera screen. So far he was finding nothing that pointed to their culprit. At most all he saw were more people being injured, others in danger, and furniture and fixtures running amok throughout every floor of the building. But…there was one thing odd. One camera showed a floor with a mass of converged furniture, but there were no people to be seen. Instead, it looked as if everything were standing guard.
He considered, glanced to Kealey and then motioned to the screen.
“That looks to be quite a floors up, around the center of the building,” he said as he noted the position of the camera feed. “But…I just don’t know.” He sighed as he turned back to Kealey. “I’d say around there is our best bet, but I’ll follow where you lead,” he said with a nod. She was a leader, after all, and she had far more useful powers in this situation than he did. He was going to make damn sure she didn’t get hurt, though.

And so they split. Following Jorge was easy enough for now, and once again Kealey found herself thinking that she was more than happy to let him take point on this one. Animate objects with no discernible emotions or human characteristics were about as far from her strengths as possible.
The X-Cop spoke, and the blond considered for a second, putting her trust in him as she let her eyes slip half-closed and concentrated. ”Larger than you might thing, but perhaps not specific enough to help just not.” There were still a lot of people in the building, and their panic was palpable. Taking a deep breath to keep it from getting overwhelming, Kealey did her best to isolate everything like that and push it aside, looking for other feelings.
Jorge pointed out that the control center might be the place to go, and Kealey tried to push her awareness in that direction. Her eyes flew open. ”There’s definitely someone over there, not moving, everyone else is heading towards the outsides of the building.” The emotions were jumbled, there was too much going on, but it was something. It also made sense that the person responsible for this would be in the camera control room watching their mayhem unfold.
”Lead the way. I’ll do what I can, but I’m afraid I’m slightly useless in a hand-to-hand fight.”
That way. That way. That way. She kept up the commands, helping people while furniture attacked the older man. One woman stumbled, heel of her shoe caught on something. In that moment, Amelia moved to catch her. She glanced down.
Hrm... her hands moved to uncoil a power cable as she left the woman to stand on her own. It didn't go quietly. "Go!" She struggled with the cord. With a final effort, she got it off the woman's leg. She didn't need to tell the woman twice. Off she went. Now came the fun part. Dragging the cable to the nearest thing and getting it under control. What did it even go to, anyways? It looked like... Lamp! The thought hit her just in time for her to move. The desk lamp jumped up at her, tiny and at ankle level. An ankle-biter.
Amelia rushed after it as it landed, scooped it up, and threw it at a wall. It shattered with a tinkle of glass.
Sheesh. This was somewhat ridiculous. At least the people were filing out. Hopefully the guy with the staff would be able to handle the desk on his own. She kept doing what he'd told her to do, in the mean-time.
"The exit's that way, people." She repeatedly announced, with pointings-a-plenty. People moved.

Streak was still busy dealing with rhino desk, but he did manage to catch a glimpse of Amelia every once in a while. The desk was really hard for him to do anything against with his staff. On the next charge Streak hurdled over the desk and to the other side. Fortunately the desk was stuck on its momentum and ran headlong into a cubicle. Streak took the time to collapse the staff and turn it into a sword. Undoubtedly his favorite weapon, it was also the sharpest and he was certainly going to be able to take care of this desk now.
Amelia seemed to be handling most of the screaming people, and the amount of the people seemed to have lessoned a lot. Unfortunately the desk had figured out how to get out of the cubicle. Barreling through it was one way, the silvermancer would have preferred to just go through the opening, But he supposed that desks weren't the smartest and he was just going to have to teach it a lesson. As the desk came back at him he readied himself for it. Streak jumped and cleared the desk by inches. The desk had learned a little and the next thing Streak knew he found himself on laying on the floor. His foot had been caught by one of the legs of the desk. As the X-men got up the desk turned around.
Streak grabbed his sword and once again jumped on top of the desk. This time he stabbed the desk straight through the center. He wasn't actually sure how to kill a desk but it seemed to work since it started to make fewer and fewer movements to try and throw him off. Once it stood still he climbed off and took a deep breath. He then spoke into his communicator, "Jorge. Kealey. Any luck with finding this guy?" He was a little out of breath from all the jumping and everything that he'd just had to go through with the desk, but nothing to bad. Streak placed his sword on his back and it just kind of dissolved back into his skin until all the was showing was the handle, in case he needed it again. Shawn stood near Amelia and helped her point in the direction to go. It seemed that she got most of the people out of the building, "Come on Amelia. Let's go join Kealey and Jorge."

>> “There’s definitely someone over there, not moving, everyone else is heading towards the outsides of the building…Lead the way. I’ll do what I can, but I’m afraid I’m slightly useless in a hand-to-hand fight.”
Jorge nodded.
Kealey had been able to sense something coming from the general area of the center of the building. Someone who was there but who wasn’t running. It was a long shot but it was probably their best chance considering that everyone else was running for their lives. Whoever this person was, he definitely didn’t seem like he was in a rush to go anywhere. That was a good sign of the person’s involvement.
He was thankful that Kealey was here; he trusted her powers and knew that she was their best bet at finding this guy. But he knew that he was also going to play a bit part in this. She had a point, her powers were not going to be the most effective against a bunch of emotionless furniture. But, if he could get her close enough to the person causing all of this, they should shut it down.
So the detective agreed. He would take the lead and get her to the center of the building…
>> "Jorge. Kealey. Any luck with finding this guy?"
He held up his communicator and responded.
“Yeah, we have an idea of where he might be. Towards the center of the building,” he said as he gave a quick glance around to make sure that no other furniture was going to leap at them. “We’re on route now. Catch up to us.”
He glanced back to Kealey and gave her a supportive nod.
“Come on. We best keep moving,” he said as he twitched his wrist.
Suddenly a mass of water that had spilled over from a nearby water fountain sprang to life. It snaked and swirled its way towards him before it began to encircle around both of his arms. The water looked like the coiled rings of a snake, poised and ready to strike while droplets hovered and swirled around like the moons of a planet. Properly armed Jorge stepped towards the heart of the building, unsure of what dangers would follow. He only knew, though, that he’d keep Kealey safe and get her to that perp.

Yup, they had an idea. Kealey narrowed her eyes and focused and a lot of the other emotions in the building fell away. Centered now, she could feel it; the nervous anticipation, the thrill, the pride in what he had accomplished. It would have been impressive in someone who wasn't wreaking havoc on a building full of people.
Jorge did his water thing, and Kealey had to smile a bit. No matter how many different powers she saw, the unique flare of each person's talent was a sight to behold. They were armed and ready now.
"I wouldn't be shocked if things get more and more hairy as we get towards the center of the building." It would have been nice to find some remorse or shame in what the guilty party was doing, but there was nothing the blond could use to their advantage. They were on their own until they could fight him face to face.
