The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

"That," said Hunter edging back to the corner, "was what the resistance had been worrying about. Somehow the government found them." With his back to Naveed to hide his movements Hunter injected himself with a vial of Tris's blood before sticking his head around the corner.
He was greeted with gunfire before throwing an explosion at the "SWAT team". He caught sight of the marksman who was already in place. The man fired, and Hunter watched the bullet's flight, knowing the man's aim to be true. He cried out in pain and fell back around the corner as the bullet caught him in the shoulder.
"Too many of them," he said, pressing a hand to his wound, "and worse, they've got a Stalker. I saw it cloak just before they got me. We have to move. Now." With that Hunter set off down the alley, clutching his rapidly clotting shoulder. As he did he broke the blood capsules in his hand, ensuring there was the ammount of blood Naveed would expect to find from a gunshot wound.
Many blocks away Nigel's phone rang. Reading who it was from he attatched the voice synthesiser before answering. "Hello," he said in a perfect copy of Naveed's voice, "Who is this?"

Everything whirred around Naveed. He'd never seen guns before or even this much violence. Everything seemed to be going in slow motion. Government. He hated the idea. Back home there was just a cheif. None of this government nonsense.
He saw Darren go down obviously hit by something. There was blood everywhere and Naveed was reminded mometarily of a wounded animal. He ran up beside Darren and slung his shoulder over his own. "any human who comes close, I will take care of." he muttered running to match his pace to Darrens.
As they bolted down an Ally Naveed began to bark out random commands that made no sense at first as there were no people around. "Come out, Get in the way" he continued to say this and then it made sense. Stray cats and dogs- any within hearing reach of his command started to emerge from the trash cans and empty boxes filling the ally. It woudln't be much but it would be enough to confuse and slowdown anyone following them.
"Where are we headed?"
ooc: occasionally Naveed's powers work on animals as demonstrated in his sample RP and also in his first thread with the pidgeons.
Hunter accepted Naveed's help, keeping up the act of being weaker and more affected by the wound than he truely was. Naveed's summoning of animals to use as a distraction intregued Hunter. Finally, after guiding Naveed along a convoluted escape route Hunter brought them to a stop.
"Now we have a problem," he said as he lead Naveed into a seemingly abandoned flat, "As with the resistance gone we're no closer to ending this. I don't think either of us could be identifide, so we should be safe. However, we're on our own, and I got a girlfriend who I'm trying my damnedest to keep out of this."
He paused for a moment, pulling out a first aid kit that was concealed in a kitchen cabinet and starting to try and treat his wound. "Hitting the camps is too risky, there are too many Stalkers. So if we can't get into the camps, how about we make them go away?"

Naveed listened. At least Darren kept his girlfriend from ending up in the camps... Naveed was too late to protect Raina. He watched the man dress his wounds and looked about the room nervously. "Stalkers..." he murmered. "I hadn't seen such a thing until I came here. Back where I'm from men fight with brute strength, skills, and wit. None of these guns or robots to hide behind." he listened to Darren continue to talk.
"Hitting the camps is too risky, there are too many Stalkers. So if we can't get into the camps, how about we make them go away?"
Naveed raised an eyebrow. "I like the way you think. How do you propose we do this?" he crossed his arms on his chest and leaned against the wall taking in the scene. He wondered how Saphire was doing.
"The way I see it," said Hunter, grunting slightly as he tightened the bandage on his wound, "There's two things that are keeping the law in place. The first is support of the various Senators. If someone were able to speak to them, convince them to vote to have the law revoked..." Hunter looked Naveed in the eye to make his point clear.
"The second problem is an organisation called the Church of Humanity. Even if we can change the Senator's minds the Church can just have the Senators replaced. I'm already wporking on that front, and am inflitrating the Church to destroy it from the inside." Hunter paused and replaced the first aid kit, allowing what he had said to sink in.
"Now we need to find out how we can get you a meeting with the Senators." If Naveed agreed to the proposed plan it would life much easier for Hunter. It also might allow him to bestow a little gift upon Katrina.

Naveed took everything in an grinned a very wide grin. He held up his hands and punched one into the other to show his enthusiasim. "My powers always work on humans. " he said. "Show me who I need to convince... if you give me vict- er people to practice on I can increase the commands I give to people." this was true. Naveed could usually only give short orders and commands, but if he strengthened his mental ability by being freely able to practice he may be able to give them more details requests.
"I still need to find a way to get you to the Senators," Hunter said, grinning back at Naveed, "But I'm sure I'll come up with something. As for practise, I've managed to get a regular poker game with several guys from the Church of Humanity. You're welcome to come along for some practise."
When he mentioned the wound Hunter gave his shoulder an experimental flex. In truth his would was already healing, but as he was passing off as a mutant with just explosive powers he made out that it was worse than it was. "I'll be fine, after all, they didn't hit anything important, like lungs."
"This is Cyra. I believe, Naveed, that you were supposed to have contacted the resistance by now. And that I'm to be meeting you." Cyra went silent for a few moments, "So when and where do we meet?"

Naveed nodded. "Poker..." he almost laughed. "can't say I've ever played the game." he gave a half grin. "Mostly just did hunting back home." he glaced behind himself back where they had come.
"Do you think it;s safe?" he asked "we should probably get out of here. Any ideas where we should go next?"
"Cyra, do you know the starbucks near the Central Park ploice station?" Nigel asked, "Cause that's where I'm meeting the resistance. They told me to look for a guy in a white cowboy hat and wearing a red tie. See you there." Hanging up Nigel stepped out of the car and put on his cowboy hat.
"You're right," agreed Hunter, "We'd better get going, and split up. Give me your phone number, I'll call you when the next poker night is on. Untill then, go about life as normal. We'll pay the bastards back for this, I promise you."

Naveed nodded and scribbled his cell phone and the address of the motel he had been staying at. "Please contact me as soon as possible." he said with a nod of his head scanning out door. "It looks safe now. You sure you going to be ok?"
"I'll be fine," Hunter assured Naveed, "Now go. I'll wait a few minutes before heading home. As soon as I know when the next poker night is I'll give you a call, and we can get in some practise with your power."
Cyra frowned as she grabbed her backpack and small bag. She headed out of her room and stopped at the front desk. "Which way is the fastest to Central Park from here?" The woman behind the desk sighed as she got up and grabbed Crya by her arm. Pulling her to the door, the woman pointed out of it, "That way kiddo, and a police station isn't too far from it." The woman cackled, "Even better is the Starbucks there too." She realised Crya's arm. Cyra smiled, "Thanks."
She strode out the door. After about a ten minute walk she reached Starbucks. She pushed open the door and smiled grimily as she noted the guy in the white cowboy hat and a red tie around his neck. She moved inside and towards the guy. She was right behind him when she spoke, "Hello, this seems to be a nice place to talk." She was about a foot behind him and she wanted to see his reaction. Plus, it was likely that he had already seen her.
The woman had been identifide as she left the hotel. Her position had been located by triagulating her call. She'd been watched all the way here. As soon as they'd gotten a look at her face a background check had been run, details of which were still coming in.
"Please," said Nigel pleasently without turning round, "take a seat."
Cyra grinned, this would be fun. She took the seat indicated and spoke in a low, unconcenered tone. "You've been having me watched and followed Sir. I must say I respect that." She chuckled, "I'm sure you've also run a backround check." Her grin deepened, "Tell me what did you find. Or to be more specific, what didn't you find?" *OOC: Cyra isn't going to be as easy as running backround checks.*
