The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

(OOC: Just to let you know, Hunter has no intentions of hooking you up with the resistance. Instead he wants to start using you for his own ends, starting with going and making house calls on several senators.)
IC: “Darren,” Hunter answered, taking the offered hand and putting no strength into the shake. Looking around once more to confirm that no one was within earshot he continued, “They move around a lot, the resistance I mean, but I should be able to find them. Tell you what, meet back here in three days, I should know something by then.”
While he was speaking Hunter was planning. Bringing Naveed into the resistance would mean revealing him to Syn, and the risk that she would use her powers of influence on him was too great. No, he needed to be smart about this. Trouble was, he was the only one who could fully resist the man. He expected that more disciplined minds would have a greater resistance, but nothing full proof. Seems he would need the three days he was trying to buy himself to come up with something.

ooc: three days is good, I'm trying to get Navi up to present time, lol when really he's barely been a week in NYC at the start of the camps. Just PM me when you wanna get a thread going again
ic: Naveed looked cautiously at the man and then took his non-threatening hand shake. "Darren." he remarked. He was beginning to feel comfortable now. "To be honest, meeting the resistance is not my absolute goal, it just seems to be a necessary step for me right now." he was referring of course to his frusturating limitations within saving his sister and having to be paced and deal with Rupert and his plans with the resistance. He listened to the man's suggestion. "Well, I suppose everyone will be calling me now." he pulled out a piece of paper and scribbled down the cell phone number passing it to Darren. "The woman who just called me was also looking to come in contact with the resistance. You must be a popular bunch." he stared at the man. "I'm not interested in the plans of the resistance." he stated. "I only want to get someone out of the camps."
Ah, there was his reasoning. Why Naveed- such a fish out of water- was here. It was interesting to see that the man obviously had his own agenda, unknowingly holding that in common with Darren.
“That’s mainly what the resistance are looking to do. I’m sure that they’ll be able to help,” giving the man a warm smile he looked about once more before saying, “Well, I guess I’ll see you in three days. I hope to have something for you by then.”
With a parting nod Hunter set off at a jog. As soon as his feet were in motion his mind was as well. He needed someway to steer Naveed away from the resistance and towards his own objectives. Thinking about it he might have a solution, but it would be tricky. Still, if it worked it would be well worth it, if not there was always the much less subtle back up plan.
And the guy hung up on her, how thoughtful. She inserted 50 cents once more and called the guy back right away. "Look, I do not appriciate being hung up on. And I am also looking for the resistance. I think we could help each other out if we meet up. Better chance of finding someone and also a better chance of staying out of the camps." She fell silent waiting for the guy to respond.

They parted and Naveed's phone rang again. He stared at it a moment wondering if the man was contacting him already! He answered "Hello?"
"Look, I do not appriciate being hung up on. And I am also looking for the resistance. I think we could help each other out if we meet up. Better chance of finding someone and also a better chance of staying out of the camps."
Naveed was getting rather annoyed and let out a low grunt. "Look" he said as if mocking her original statement. "I have no contact with the resistance yet." he growled. "Though in three days I might. You should call me then."
ooc: naveed really doesnt have any connections yet, and even when he thinks he will, hunter's just pulling a fast one on him

It had been three days and Naveed had not yet heard from Darren. He found his way back through the early morning fog to the park. He started to jog to sooth his aching body. He was frusturated. He'd been here a few weeks now and no sign of Raina. He was getting impatient of waiting around for others to contact him. After a 30 minute jog he sat himself under a tree uncaringly in the snow.
Hunter jogged back into the park, just as promised. Everything had been arranged, so now it was just time to lead Naveed to the show. He spotted the man under a tree and jogged over. "There's not much time," he said urgently, casting about to see who was nearby, "Follow me." With no further explination he set off at a steady jogging pace that Naveed should have no trouble keeping up with.

Naveed heard Darren coming before he saw him. He got up and glanced around checking to make sure no one was following them then took off at a strong pace shoulder to shoulder with Darren. "This week has been awful I was beginnng to think you wouldn't show."
Hunter gave Naveed a smile. The fact that the man had said that let Hunter know that he had, at least in part, gotten the man trusting him. "Well hopefully this'll be a turning point," he said as they headed away from the park and into the sprawling city, "I've arranged for us to meet two of the resistance. They should be able to help you."
Reaching a deserted alley Hunter brought them to a halt. "They should be here soon. I'll stick around until they show, then I've got to get going."
Cyra yawned, it had been three days since she had contacted Naveed. She would shower and then pack her small amount of things then call him to try and meet him somewhere. She shrugged as she removed herself from the annoyingly hard bed. *OOC: Sorry about the shortness, this is just to let you know that she'll be a calling soon*
OOC: Kitra, your call will be intercepted and redirected to someone with a voice synthesise to sound like Naveed. Hunter is not taking Naveed to the resistance, but he is letting you join, so he'll redirect you. Hope that's ok.

Naveed nodded curtley. He didnt like the idea of yet again being thrown into a bunch of people he didnt know and having to depend on them to get Raina out, but he thought he probably didnt have much of a choice. He jogged along Darren trying hard to maintain a stone composure. As they jogged he thoughtfully remarked on Darren's physicial shape to himself. He wondered what type of mutant he could be..
"There," said Hunter pointing, as a pair of figures entered the alley. He nodded to them and the smaller of the two waved back. They were halfway down the alley when all hell broke loose. A black van pulled up, and a dozen men in SWAT gear jumped out. Then they were firing.
The two "resistance members" were dropped in the first volley with fatal shots. "Come on!" yelled Hunter, who grabbed Naveed and pulled him (not with all his strength, no superhuman stuff yet) back around the corner. "We have to get out of here right now."

Naveed was relieved to see that this wasnt just some big joke. There were the two resistance members smiling and waving. They started to make their way over and Navi was practising in his head what he would be saying to seem less intimidating and liklier to get results when a van pulled up.
Everything happened very fast then, and Navi barely had time to realize the men were on the ground dead when Darren grabbed him - colds hands- and pulled him around a corner. He stood there with his back to the strange brick wall breathing heavily.
*OOC: Sorry its short, just trying to stay in the game here lol*
IC:Cyra pulled out a phone she had borrowed and called Naveed's number, listening to it ring. She grimaced as it continued to ring, this may take awhile.
