The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

ooc: None of my threads are active right now and I'm going out of my mind with boredom soooo here's another thread with Navi. I'd like him to get scoped by some resistance/sanctuary members if anyone feels like jumping in. Perhaps even the Kabal
ic:
Naveed was dripping and sweat having run the length of the park a good few times. While waiting to hear from Rupert he'd kill his days spending time with Sapphire and keeping in shape. He wasn't sure if the copper would even contact him at this point... but he'd been checking out the apartment here and there.
He was stressed with each passing day and spoke less and less for fear of not being able to control himself. All he had was running. For hours on end he'd run and drink the hotel out of all the water in NYC. His body was in peak condition and anyone who frequented the park would have noticed his continued precense.
It was still early and seeing no one around Naveed dropped to the ground and started an early morning routine of pushups and Yoga. Raina's face drifted into his mind and he focused on her trying to imagine how she would look. He knew she was no longer the little girl he had left but a woman with many scars to bear. He would make them all pay.

It was about 6am by now and the dusk was becoming dawn. There still wasnt many people about, Naveed only counted 2 or 3. He finished his yoga poses and sat on the grass a moment for a break.
It was then that the thug apparoached him from behind. Naveed could hear his feet snapping twigs and Naveed stood up.
"Well shit you're bigger than I thought"
Naveed turned around to see a young skin head dressed in a leather jacket adorned with metal spikes staring at him. He wore sunglasses and hiking boots, ripped jeans and no shirt even in this weather. He smiled deviously at Naveed who just crossed his arms.
"That's ok, I've got just the thing to help me out with your type." with that he produced a long steel rod from behind his back and started patting it like a baseball bat in his hands.
Naveed thought for a moment. "I don't need any trouble."
"Well then, you should just give me all your money right now." he said lowering his sunglasses "I ain't afraid of your size either. I've taken down your kind before."
Naveed still showed no emotion and this irked the man even more. Nabeed began weighing his options. Currently there wasnt anyone around that he could see but if he were to fight this man it would obviously draw a crowd. Besides, this kid was just a thug and Naveed didnt feel like wasting his energy on him.
That's then the kid took a swing. Naveed caught the rod and lifted it and the kid into the air. The kid dangled a moment confused as he stared into Naveed's red eyes.
"You will leave me alone." he said with intent moving to put him back on the ground but then on second thought he lifted him back to eye level. "You will run around this park and tell everyone that you are a dangerous criminial. Then you will turn yourself in to the police and forget we ever met."
It was a long command but Naveed felt confident enough that the man was at such a low mental stature it had to work. He sat the rod down and the guy went with it.
The kid stared at the rod a moment and looked puzzled "What the heck was I doin with this?" he asked himself out loud. He put it down "see ya" he said taking off running.
Naveed watched with his arms crossed as the boy encountered a jogger and announced that he was a dangerous criminal and then took off again. Naveed smiled like a cat playing with a mouse and then returned to his pushups in the snow
Since moving to the new apartment Hunter had taken to early morning jogs. This was mainly to stay in shape, but a small part of him liked being on the prowl for humans. He hadn’t attacked anyone yet, the current political climate about mutants would mean the attack would receive a higher than normal priority unless he covered it up well.
As he was jogging he saw a well muscled man approached by a skin-head punk with a concealed weapon. He paused, waiting to see how the event turned out. His keen sense of hearing picked up every word that passed between the pair of them, and his eyes caught every detail, even in the semi-darkness. The attack from the thug was unsurprising, but the man’s response was. He issued the thug a order that would not have been followed where the thug in command of himself. Despite this the thug did as the man asked.
Now Hunter was interested. The man was clearly a mutant, and one of potentially enormous power. He had the ability to command those around him with just his words. With effort, Hunter could use his psychic talents to bend someone to his will, and make them do his bidding. However, that required eye contact and a large amount of effort and concentration. Hunter had detected no exertion of effort as the man commanded his assailant.
He caught up with the man as he began doing push ups in the snow. The man was in peek physical condition, and had the build for both strength and speed. This however, was inconsequential, as Hunter’s physical abilities would far surpass his unless there was more to his mutation than met the eye. “You ok?” he asked in the accent that he had adopted for his character, Darren King, “I saw that guy come at you and was about to help when he ran off all of a sudden. What happened?”

Naveed looked up from the ground with his nostrils flared. Damn. He didn't want to attract attention. He'd have to scope out the situation to decide what to do next. He stood up and rubbed his hands together- despite the fact that he had been in the snow his skin didn't give any sign of being cold- just more so adjusted to the snow and ice.
"Hello." he said akwardly trying to think what his story would be. "You saw that did you?" he asked with a raised eyebrow. He looked the man over. He didn't seem like a threat... he chose his words carefully "I'm fine thanks." his voice was monotone and he tried to resume stretching to appear less suspicious. "kid decided it would be a bad idea and took off."
He wondered if the man would buy it. If he didn't... Naveed may need to use some pursuasion.
“Well you must have said something pretty convincing to him then,” said Hunter with a smile, “because he looked determined to take you on despite your size. But after a few choice words from you he did a complete u turn.”
Hunter, still smiling, was stretching alongside the man. He knew that he was taking a risk, and that he may be overwhelmed by the man’s power, but it was a calculated risk. The man did not seem overtly aggressive, and Hunter doubted that he would come to any serious harm. Worse case scenario was that he forgot all about this. However, he was summoning his mental defences in anticipation of having to test them against the man’s mysterious powers.

Naveed began to get nervous but did not give it away. This man seemed to know more than he should... Navi wasn't sure. He could just be a helpless nosey human. Either way, it seemed silly at this point to take any risks so he turned to the man as if to make conversation and stared intently at him- eyes ablaze. "You're feeling a sudden wave of nauseau come over you. " he ordered in a voice much like a hypotist. "You are going to go home and forget all about this."
It was a detailed order, but if the man was an ordinary human he should eat it up easily. Then Naveed could get back to more important matters- like Sapphire back in the motel. He watched the man with curiosity to see his affect
Hunter felt a wave of force hit him as the man spoke, compelling him to do as he was ordered. However, the force was insufficient to penetrate his psychic defences. If caught off guard it would take him a moment or two to summon his defences, leaving him vulnerable for a time, but as it turned out if he was ready for it he could shrug off the man’s powers.
“Actually I feel fine,” said Hunter with a smile, “and this has been quite a memorable encounter, so I doubt that I’ll be forgetting it any time soon.” He waited to see the man’s reaction, wondering if this was the first time that his power had failed to work on someone.

ooc: sorry for all those typos in my last post, I wrote it in a hurry!
ic:
Naveed balanced back on his feet with wide eyes. He was usually good at showing no emotion on his face but he was downright surprised and caught off guard that the man was able to respond let alone resist his order. He narrowed his eyes and furrowed his brows with clenched teeth. He had miliseconds to react. This man could be very powerful and Naveed had to approach this properly. it didn't mean he couldn't do away with him if need be... but he had to act carefully out here in the public.
He lowered his voice. "A fellow mutant I assume?" he asked. " 'cant blame a man for trying to keep himself safe and under the radar in times like these."
It was an act of peace, though a simple sentence it was like a verbal treaty he was putting out there and hoping the other would sign and agree. He wouldn't start trouble if the other man woudln't start trouble.
ooc: hehe Navi lives in his own little world where he thinks he is the strongest, he's used to being that way in his tribe. Little shallow I'm afraid ^_^;
OOC: Feel free not to notice your phone right away, I won't be able to post again till tomorrow morning.
IC: Cyra had found a pay phone, no motel yet though. She sighed and pulled out the crumpled little piece of paper, inserted 50 cents into the pay phone and dailed. She heard it ring, as soon as the person answered, she would say. "Hello, I need to meet you in person. I want to be part of the resistance and I believe you are a member. Where can we meet?" Now for whoever this person was to answer.
(OOC: Sorry Kitra, but I’m gonna ignore the call seeing as you would not get Hunter’s number. However, talk to Katrina and she’ll send an NPC recruiter your way. And Raina, Hunter will gladly prove Naveed wrong )
IC: Hunter, still smiling, replied, “Not really, however, many would consider a direct attack on their mind a very serious offence. One that could not be easily ignored.” It was still early and there were few people around, so Hunter was willing to utilise all his abilities.
So far he had shown the man that his powers were ineffectual to him. However, he was a big man, and unlikely to have met someone physically superior to him, so most likely he still felt in control of the situation. Hunter waited for the man’s reaction, looking completely relaxed but ready to spring into action at any moment.

ooc: I think the call was for Navi actually ^_^;
ic:
Naveed gave a smerk and stook looking smugly. Was this man looking for a fight. "Easier to use such abilities without anyone noticing." he said "Instead of noticible physical ones." he emphasized the word physicial while looking the man up and down. They were about matched it height, and to be honest looked about the same size. Navi was calculating each step he'd need to take to have the man on the ground. But he would wait for the first move. That's how he liked it. Just like stalking your prey. You wait for the move.
"I don't plan on getting myself locked in th camps, rather break-"
He was cut off by a very noisy ringing and buzzing in his pants. He looked down at the cellphone clipped to his belt. He'd forgotten all about the cell phone. He'd picked it up from someone in the motel.
"Rupert!" he suddenly realised that this phone call could be about Raina. He momentarily shifted his attention to the phone holding it akwardly to his face obviously having not used a phone very often. "Hello?" He was met by a female voice.
"Hello, I need to meet you in person. I want to be part of the resistance and I believe you are a member. Where can we meet?"
"The resistance?" he echoed trying to remember where he'd heard that before. Rupert and the others had spoken about the resistance. "Who is this?" he growled shifting his eyes back to the man with him to be sure he wasn't trying anything. He was suspcious now that maybe this was some sort of trap- a plan to catch him unarmed.
Cyra muttered to herself then spoke, "My name is Cyra, Rupert gave me this number. He told me that you were part of the resistance or at least knew people that were." She sighed, "I wouold like to meet with you so I can get to the hq of the resistance or at least find members." She waited for his response.

Naveed glanced back to the man wondering if he could hear the conversation. He tried to hold the phone so that he was muffling his voice. "I only know detective Kelly." he said trying very hard to whisper- not exactly an easy task considering his booming voice. "I have yet to come in contact with..." he hesitated "the resitance... " it was clear this was a misscommunication on some part but Naveed may be able to gain something in the end from this. "I still want to know what the resistance plans to do about my sister in the camps!" it was a risky move saying this infront of the other man- but it was evident that he was also a mutant and clearly no mutant could want to be in the camps. There was nothing to suggest that the man couldn't also have friends or family in the camps. It was a risk, but a calculated Risk. Navi felt he could still take this man if need be. "Please, if you come in contact call me back!" he wished more than anything at this moment he could see the person on the phone. He would order them, and use every ounce of his strength to ensure the person followed through.
IC: Hunter’s keen ear picked up every word. So he was seeking the resistance. How ironic that the leader of the resistance was standing before him. However, this gentleman was far too valuable to be wasted on the resistance. No, Hunter was only just beginning to imagine what he could do with this man’s powers.
“I’ve hard about the resistance,” he said, “Think that I might be able to like you up with them, if you’re interested.” He quickly cast a look around them, and confirmed that there were still few people around and that there was no danger of them being overheard.

Without thinking Naveed slapped the phone shut and put it back in his pocket. he turned around and stared at the man. Was he simply over hearing the conversation? This could be a trap. Naveed had to keep his head and not jump into something- this was about Raina and getting her out. he turned on his heels to face the man head on. His tone changed to very serious and it was clear he meant business. "How do I know you are telling the truth?" he asked "Anyone could have heard what I'd just said. " he was very puzzled by the man and all the coincadences going on this morning. He was silent a moment and decided that if there was any chance this man was telling the truth Navi needed to be on his good side. If it meant getting Raina out he coudlnt pass up an opprotunity.
He extended his hand. "My name is Naveed."
ooc: Cyra can call back later now that I knowsomeone!
