The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

He'd done his damnnest to keep his cool when it came to getting the new girl into a guest room, but the whole time, what that monster of a girl had said to him bugged him greatly. She'd murdered thousands...thousands! Yet, when given the opportunity, Cold Steel simply... let her go.
He'd known Sam for a while now, and he'd learned to trust the man's judgement, but this? There was no way he could justify this.
He could, however, try to explain himself, and as Saphirus barged into the man's office uninvited, slammed a folder down on the table, and said in a very blunt way, "We need to talk." he told himself he was doing just that.
The folder was filled with pictures; some of the scene he'd come across just the day before, the grisly murder of what one might come to the conclusion was an old man, not that there was enough left to really tell. The others were of murders with a similar MO. They probably wouldn't be the best thing to have thrown in your face while you were just minding you own business, but Saph was almost 100 percent sure that Aura had killed every single one of them.

Putting another vanilla away behind him in the filing cabinet Sam smiled and looked to Bruno who was wagging his tail on the floor while holding his dog leash in his mouth waiting for the walk that Sam had promised him before. ”A few more minutes buddy.” Sam said without looking up only saying it when he heard his large dog whine in protest to the thought of waiting.
Normally Sam had a open door policy with everyone he often voiced it and was happy to get the occasionally company from others when they entered his office, however when someone was ready to burst the door off the hinges and then proceed to enter and slam so information on his desk angrily, he wasn’t happy when this happened.
Bruno growled and dropped his leash and backed up towards Sam who turned to face Saphirus, ”Do we?” Sam asked in a tone that was letting Saphirus know he wasn’t exactly thrilled with the way he was being talked to. However he knew that there was a reason Saphirus was upset and if it were his fault he’d do his best to hear his teammate out. Taking a deep breath and exhaling Sam looked to Bruno and let out a single command, ”Down.”
The dog laid down next to Sam’s desk keeping his eyes on Saphirus, ”What do we need to talk about?” Sam asked trying to diffuse the man’s anger. Pulling out his chair and sitting down Sam made note of the man’s posture and determined he was very upset. Sam blinked and reached for the folder and opened it.
It was a crime scene, a murder from what he could tell. There was an old man not much of one left but he could see some gray hairs on the scalp soaked in blood. ”What am I looking at exactly?” Sam asked not really seeing why the man could be so upset with him about something he had nothing to do with.

”Do we?” Sam obviously wasn't jazzed about the situation, and Saph was sure he would he even less jazzed when he saw the pictures. Bruno was pissed, too; he'd get over it, though. Saph ignored the dog; his focus was soley on the man in front of him.
"Yes, yes we do."
Sam opened the folder; clearly the man was no stranger to violence, as the pictures didn't seem to phase him at all. Saph wasn't surprised... He'd heard Romania was rough, and as the leader of the X-men, violence was probably commonplace in his life.
”What am I looking at exactly?"
"A murder, Sam, and there's 100s of scenes just like that found this year alone. No witnesses, no murder weapons, no motives... No suspects." He looked right into Sam's eyes. "And I know who is responsible for every single one of them. Tell me; do you recognize her work?"
The her part would be a hint, but he wanted to see just how familiar Sam was with Aura. If he guessed it right off the bat, that meant he was very familiar with her... That also might mean that him letting Aura go was a conscious decision. He couldn't see how he could forgive him if it was.

Obviously it was a murder it didn’t take a genius to figure out, why was the reason Sam wanted to know. Why was Saph a member of his team bringing a murder to his attention? Crime scenes Sam had seen before, murders he had seen before, as gruesome as this? His eye locked on to the picture of the corpse and he looked at the wounds to see if they would remind him of anything while Saph continued to speak.
Nothing immediately came to mind ”… No” he didn’t really recognize the work he wasn’t a detective, that was what Saph was asking, there were no murder weapons implying whoever did this had brought the weapon with them or there wasn’t a weapon to begin with.
He was implying it was a mutant that did this. What’s worse he was implying Sam knew the mutant in question first hand. He lowered his brow and thought hard on it. He had seen scenes like this before but he never was there to see who had committed such acts in fact he had been called once or twice to give his opinion on the matter if it was indeed a mutant.
”I’ve seen a scene like this a once or twice before, but never seen it first hand.” Sam looked up to Saph and set the folder along with the photos down ”I don’t recognize this work in the slightest.” Sam said as he pushed himself backwards and stood up giving Bruno a false hope of the promised walk. Sam didn’t pay much attention to Bruno and walked towards Saph, ”Who did this?” Sam asked simply wanting to know the answer himself.

Saph watched the man as he thought, searching him for the dawning of a great realization... There was none... He didn't know Aura's handy work? Maybe he wasn't as familiar with her as he'd thought. Maybe she was just lying. If she was willing to kill and mutilate, a little lie was nothing, right?
Still, he couldn't let up; he needed to know if this man had unleashed a monster on the streets of New York. The man stood and walked around his desk, and the older mutant watched his every step. What could he be thinking? He had to know that this involved him, and the Saph wasn't just showing this stuff to him for S&G. The man neared, and Saph stayed exactly where he was, answering in a voice that showed no signs of the wavering that happened in his head.
"Aura, Sam... Aura did this, and what's worse, she told me you had her in your grasps and you let her go. I met her last night when I brought in a new resident... She's a monster, Sam..." He turned to look the team leader right in the eyes. "How could you?"

The name hit him lack a sock to the nuts. He leaned back on his desk and rubbed his eyes, yeah Sam knew the girl was unbalanced but she never done anything like this in his presence. Sam rubbed his temples and winced slightly not at all happy with himself, if he had taken her to the mansion or somewhere else by force? No that would have just turned wherever he had taken her to something like the scene in the pictures.
Sam turned to look at them once more and studied the blood patterns once more. The trails of blood on the wall and carpet looked like a knife or a sword made them. He had seen the patterns before he had done said patterns before. She was fully capable of creating them with her mutation. He pictured the girl now with a pink blade or other sharp object and then he looked back to Saph shaking his head slightly, ”She only struck me as a anti-social kid with some troubles, no more than that.”
Sam recalled the one time she had attacked an orphanage with the bug lady, no-one was hurt from that, he just thought she was having a fit or some kind of nervous breakdown and before he could try and help her once she seemed calm she vanished. ”I ran into her a few times but… to do this?” Sam shook his head in disbelief she was a troubled kid he found himself thinking again as he walked away from the photos and back behind the desk, ”You’re a hundred percent sure it was her?” Sam pulled out his X-phone one that could transfer him to the right people to try and figure this out.
Sam placed the phone on his desk and looked back to Saph with one eye, ”…. We need to talk to her… to…” explain? No he didn’t finish that statement he shook his head again, she was a kid… then again he was a kid, he killed before he knew full well what he was doing. Sam shook his head, ”We take her in…” he said finally looking from the phone back to Saph, ”Where did you see her last?”
He could tell the announcement of the name hit Sam hard. What's more, it was totally unexpected. The man reacted in honest astonishment, Saph had seen it faked enough times to know. The older mutant took a deep breath and stepped back from his dominant position against the desk, running a hand through his hair.
”She only struck me as a anti-social kid with some troubles, no more than that.”
That was what he needed to hear... Or rather it was the first thing he needed to hear. There was a sort of list in his mind...
”You’re a hundred percent sure it was her?” A confirmation. Fair enough, they couldn't just jump into things. "She confessed, Sam... There was blood all over her. She said the guy deserved to die because he was human... They were all human, or mutants who supported humans... It's like she thinks she's a soldier for some screwed up cause."
Sam pulled out his communicator. Saph retrieved, and closed the folder... He still hadn't said anything Saphirus wanted to hear.
1. We need to find her. ”…. We need to talk to her… to…” It was close, but a little too forgiving.
2. We need to stop her. ”We take her in…” Take her in... Saph's fists clenched a little. Jesus, he really wanted to talk this out with her? She was a mass murderer! She killed on a whim! His tired eyes closed for a moment... and then two. Alright... they opened once more. They would take her in... He was an X-Man; he would follow Sam's lead... but if she fought back just a little too hard, she was fair game in his mind.
”Where did you see her last?”
"Just a few blocks shy of that Sanctuary place; I hear she hangs out there. She was trying to invite a homeless mutant there... I brought the mutant in question to the mansion instead." Skydancer... Interesting woman; he was glad she hadn't been swayed to go with Aura. Who knows what would have happened?

Sam recalled some of the things she had said when she was under her delusion at the orphanage. He blinked with his one eye and tried to remember everything, did anyone get hurt or killed? Was she the cause? Sam had a few calls to make to confirm or deny his concerns. He sighed again and looked back to Saph ”Some of the stuff said during our last run in made it seem as such, however she called me Siri?” it started with a ‘s’ of that he was pretty sure but he couldn’t remember.
It wasn’t unheard of to turn mutants into weapons after all he himself had been one at some point and if some things in his past went differently he could see himself in her shoes. However that wasn’t the way things went and for his sake he was glad however Aura? No she needed to be stopped and now.
Sam could tell Saph wasn’t thrilled with his answer he wanted action not to talk. Oddly enough though Sam respected it and at the same time hated it. He didn’t like that his team members first reaction was action, Emmy was the same in fact it was why he was always at such odds with her. Sam rubbed the bridge of his nose and then clapped his hands. ”Another bad apple from the sanctuary?” he wasn’t too surprised they were never opposed to taking in mutants with overly aggressive attitudes or homicidal tendencies.
”I’ll talk to her first, she’ll listen to me,” ‘I hope’ the last thing he wanted was anyone from the sanctuary taking it as an ‘act of war’ so to speak and come out in the masses to fight. The last thing he wanted was a fight. He sighed again wondering if this ever happened to Neena or Tricity. ‘What would they do?’ Sam thought as he picked up the communicator and waved to Saph to follow as they went for the door.
Sam didn’t pay much mind to the part about the homeless mutant he was busy already running a few scenarios through his head clicking the communicator he waited for the other line to pick up. Turning to Saph, ”Let’s go.” Sam headed to the door of his office and talked into the communicator, ”Need you to look into something for me, remember that orphanage incident a year back when with the bugs and the pink girl? Yeah were there any unexplained murders on the scene or near it?” he had to know.
