The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

>I am sooooo bored.< Vibe frowned up at her sister. Amp sighed and nodded.
"Ditto. This town's a snoozefest during the day."
The copper-haired pair were draped in the branches of a tree, overlooking the people wandering aimlessly through New York's largest park. The combination of leaves and green clothing sheilded them from sight, for the most part. Not that they were intentionally trying to hide; most people simply were too preoccupied with their own business to pay attention to the world around them.
Vibe yawned and stretched, then rolled her eyes. >Why are we here again? Besides growing old with boredom?< She flicked off a caterpillar that was crawling on her shorts.
Amp glanced down at her. The original plan had been to do a bit of pickpocketing, but that had gotten old pretty quickly. A mischeivious grin lit her pale face. "Whaddaya say we spice things up then? Gimme a beat sis."
Vibe grinned. >Now we're talkin'.< She held up one hand and spread her fingers, as if checking her nail polish. Amp hung upside down from her branch by her knees. They were near a water fountain, shaped like a man and woman kissing. She held out her hand toward it. Several people shouted in surpise as the sidewalk below them began to ripple and buckle. The shouts escalated as the heads of the fountain statues exploded, and water first began shooting into the air, then rained down around them. Park-goers began running in different directions, trying not to get soaked.

>Hey. Check it out.<
Amp followed her sister's finger and saw a kid standing near the fountain. He didn't seem phazed by their handiwork. Curious, they watched him for a moment.
>"Whoa..."< they chorused when the fish head appeared. They gasped as the they were suddenly drenched by the water now streaming in their direction.
They quickly dropped to the ground and skidded on the now slippery grass. Vibe pulled her long hair to the side and twisted some of the water out. Her green and blue middrift shirt clung wetly to her, as did Amp's rust-colored tank top. Their denim shorts were also soaked, making them look as if they'd just jumped out of a swimming pool.
"Hey! Watch where you're aiming that thing!" Amp shouted. They were all for pulling practical jokes, but weren't happy that the tables had turned.
"I suppose you're right, I guess I don't do it to well either." The fountain changed yet again, this time in their image. The ever-vain sisters smiled appreciatively, but their expressions quickly changed to surprise when the water came at them.
>How'd he do that??< They clambered onto dry ground, then headed for another nearby tree. They pulled themselves into the branches, and scowled at him from behind the leaves. Amp pointed at the ground below him. A small 'wave' of earth heaved beneath his feet, accompanied by a high-pitched whistling sound. The idea was for one attack to distract him, while the other knocked him back into the water.

The twins watched him fall in, and saw the red color spread in the water.
"Hmm. Must've hit his head," Amp remarked aloud.
The pair climbed down, carefully, since the ground was still slippery. They made their way over to the fountain and looked in. The kid was floating motionless in the water, and his eyes were closed.

“Hi, I’m Zelek.”
The girls gasped, and Amp yelped as he suddenly 'came to life' and pulled them into the water.
"Ugh! We already had showers, thank you." As one the pair pushed him back down in the water, then climbed out.
>Now I've got to go shopping again.< Not that Vibe was complaining. In fact, she was smiling hugely. Amp chuckled.
"Zelek, huh? Amp, and Vibe."
Several intrepid people had remained nearby, and were watching the water fight. One lady was on the phone, and Vibe heard the word 'police'. She nudged her sister and pointed. Amp narrowed her eyes and pointed a finger. Another high-pitched squeal sounded, and the lady shrieked as the cellphone suddenly exploded. Amp scowled at the people still hanging around.

“Nice to meet you amp and vibe, well, on that note I suppose we should subtly get the heck out of here.”
>So soon? We were just starting to have fun.< Vibe squeezed her hair out again, and pulled it up into a quick bun. Amp simply shook her shorter hair out.
"Ah, what're the cops gonna do?" she scoffed. "Most of 'em are afraid of us anyway. And that ones that aren't are too stupid for their own good."
“You guys prefer bikes, roller blades or skateboards? I could make a car but it would take longer and it would need gas and oil and all that good stuff.” He seemed intent on leaving the scene. Since he seemed like fun, and the park was growing dull again, the girls decided they may as well tag along.
"Blades work," Amp answered him. "Cool power, by the way. Can you make anything you want?"

"Nah, we don't need pads."
The girls watched curiously as Zelek worked. They tried on the finished blades, skating in a circle to test them out. They fit perfectly.
>Nice. Can we keep 'em?< Vibe grinned.
"Nice job, Z," Amp added aloud. They skated a circle around him as he formed a skateboard.
>Typical guy,< Vibe remarked.
“Also the cops have guns witch shoot bullets which I can’t see in time, so I cant make them disappear. So I don’t like playing with cops. Besides the sheep should be calling the police, I would if I were them, I just wouldn’t do it so stupidly close.”
Again Amp scoffed. "Ah, we've dealt with 'em before. Half of 'em can't hit the broadside of a barn. And a little ear-bending keeps the rest busy." The c0cky girls had yet to encounter that 'lucky shot' that often was the downfall of many mutants. "And sheep are always stupid. It's only natural.
Are ya hungry?" The pair headed off toward the main road, leaving the gawkers behind.
Vibe laughed silently and turned so she was skating backwards. Amp grinned and winked at him. "No need. We had a profitable morning." Their expressions were ever so smug. "Ever had sushi?"
They led the way to a little hole-in-the-wall restaurant, several blocks away from the park. The place didn't even have a front door, just a beaded curtain hanging over an opening in the wall. The tiny restaurant was only big enough for three beat up tables. Most of the chairs had slashes or holes in them. An attempt at looking authentic was seen in the decorations, basically a couple of Geisha fans, and an old kimono hung on the wall. Behind the counter an asian couple was arguing at the top of their lungs. When they saw the girls, the woman cackled and waved a rather sharp-looking knife.
"Aiya! The troublesome twosome! What you girls doing here again?"
"Who's in trouble? We're perfect little angels, naturally," Amp replied with a grin. The woman nodded.
"Oh sure. And I'm God's mother, too. Hah! And why are you wet in your clothes? It's not raining today. You crazy kids swimming in your clothes? What happened to regular bathing suits? And why is your hair purple?" That one was addressed to Zelek. "What's wrong with simple black or blonde? No you kids gotta do purple and green and blue, with mohawk and all that. What next? Rainbow? Crazy, I tell you! Eh, I get your usual."
She chattered at the man in an asian language, still waving her knife, and they disappeared into the kitchen. The twins had no idea which language, nor did it matter to them. The couple reminded them of their grandparents, some of the few human the girls actually cared for, thus the reason they were regulars at the shop.
The girls leaned up against the counter. Amp glanced at Zelek, having to look up since he was half a foot taller than they were. "We can give you some recommendations if you need 'em. Not everything is raw fish, despite what everyone says. Just keep in mind that the green stuff is not guacamole. and the pink stuff is not salmon."
The twins exchanged a mental laugh. If Zelek was like most other guys, wether he like the sushi or not, their next stop would be at a burger joint.
“Um, lets start with something cooked, I figure I should ease into it. What’s guacomolo?"
Amp stifled a laugh. True, it was hard to find decent mexican food in New York, but still most natives knew what the basics of it were. "You're not from around here, are ya?" It was a statement more than a question. She leaned over the counter and yelled, "Maureen! Can ya add a double order of Calis, Phillys and Sakes? And double the wasabi too!"
>Hope he likes spicy,< Vibe grinned.
"Why? You trying to kill the boy already?" came the shouted answer. "And we don't carry alcohol. You too young anyway! What you doing drinking already? Aiya! Kids!"
“Are they cool with our kind?" Zelek whispered. Amp nodded.
"Their grandson's a mutant. Goes to some fancy school 'round here. They're tickled pink about it."
Soon she returned with two full bags of containers. "I put forks in, in case you can't use hashi." Vibe nodded and pulled out two beat-up twenties, and handed them to her.
"See ya next time, Maureen." And the girls turned to leave without waiting for change.
"You behave! And next time, come dry!!" was the parting shot, followed by another cackle.
Outside, Vibe handed Zelek one of the containers. Inside was an assortment of colorful pinwheel-like rolls; some had rice on the outside, others had seaweed. Some looked like strange pink oval shapes. There was a glob of green paste in one corner. Amp handed him a pair of hashi, or chopsticks, a mischeivious grin on her face. "Dig in."

>”Whoa.... Cool....”< the girls chorused, referring to the decorating job. Amp added, “I think you just landed on their good side. Careful with that. Next time you come in, they’ll probably break out the family photo album.” It was a statement spoken from experience.
As they walked, they watched with amusement his attempts to figure out the chopsticks, and his reaction to the food. When he added points to the ends, they couldn’t help but laugh, a silent version in Vibe’s case.
“Well, I guess that works too.”
Vibe shook her head, and handed Amp her food. She showed Zelek her chopsticks, how she was holding them, then took his and replaced them properly in his hand. She showed him how to pick up the sushi, and after taking her own food back, demonstrated, holding the container close to her mouth. “She said if you’re having a hard time picking them up, to use the chopsticks like a shovel,” Amp translated, and grinned. “Personally, I think your way works just as well.” Vibe elbowed her in the ribs, and she chuckled. The pair paused at an alley, where a half-wall stuck out into the sidewalk. They straddled the wall and continued to eat.
“If you’re curious, those are called California and Philadelphia Rolls. Not exactly authentic, but no fish. And those pink things are salmon. Smoked. They’re called sakes too, but no alcohol. And if you like spicy, try the green stuff. Wasabi.” Vibe nodded, and put a sizeable glob on one of her sakes, and stuck the whole thing in her mouth.
“So, Russia, huh? Kinda out of your neighborhood then. What brings ya out here?” Amp asked in between chews, watching him closely to catch his response.
>I hear sirens.< Vibe glanced back towards the park. Dogs began barking, and a few seconds later the sounds of police sirens could be heard over the traffic noise.
“Guess someone didn't like our handiwork.” In sync the girls took another bite, completely unconcerned with the fact that they were not really far enough away to not be spotted by park witnesses.

Vibe grinned as he tried the wasabi.
>Told him it was hot.<
"Well, I have a crappy family, they were interested in my power more than me, in russia we were poor until I started to be able to make things, then we started having money off of trinkets I would make and they would sell, so I became like a cow for a dairy farmer, I finally talked them into escaping the life, there, too much crime, too much corruption. And once they were safely here and set up well, I left them, I left them stacks of money that I counterfeited. Thais all I was to them anyhow. I only regret leaving my little sister; I will be back for her once I can take care of myself. So I guess to answer your question the same thing that takes anyone anywhere, life."
Amp shook her head. "I swear, people are so stupid most of the time. I hope your sister's smarter than the others." Having grown to depend on each other, that was one relationship the twins could understand and sympathize with.
"What about you ladies?"
As one they shrugged. "Eh, the usual. I'm deaf, she's mute, and we're mutants. End result? Lots and lots of bullying. Eventually we got sick of it, and came here. And trust us, life is a lot more fun here." They grinned mischeiviously, as their idea of fun usually ended in chaos.

“I’m sorry to hear that, though I can’t think of a guy who’d want to pick on you foxes."
The pair raised an eyebrow at that comment.
>That's a new one,< Vibe remarked. Amp said nothing, just kept munching.
"Oh uh, so your powers are amplification and vibration? Thus the names and the show in the park.”
Vibe nodded, but Amp's attention was elsewhere, so she hadn't seen what he said. Both sisters had heard the cops coming before they actually came into view. They watched, unconcerned, as they approached and demanded they not move. The pair must have been rookies, as their gun hands were shaking. Zelek, on the other hand, seemed decidedly nervous.
“I suggest you gentlemen take the distress calls for what they were, people overacting to our existence.”
"What's the matter fellas? Ya don't like art?" Amp put her last California Roll in her mouth, and hopped off of the wall, headed for a nearby trash bin. "Or just a slow beat day that ya gotta pick on poor l'il old us?" Her voice dripped with sarcasm. Vibe rolled her eyes, and leaned back on the wall, still eating, her foot tapping leisurely. Both girls' eyes were practically glowing.
>That's odd. The guns sound hollow,< Vibe commented.
"Really?" Amp watched with interest, and sure enough, their shots were non-existant. When the cement began shifting, both twins shook their heads.
"Too bad. See what happens when ya insult the artist?" Amp snapped her fingers. Behind the concrete wall, both cops dropped their guns and slapped their hands over their ears, trying in vain to block out a high-pitched whistle.
Vibe yawned and stretched, then went to dump her container in the trash. The screech stopped.
"So Z, what do you like to do for fun? Besides annoying the local badges, that is." Happy and full, the pair were ready to find more trouble to get into.

The girls nearly cracked up laughing as the cops' clothes began to fall off.
>Now that's funny! Price-<
"-less!" Amp finished aloud. They held up their hands toward Zelek for a high-five. "Now this is too good not to share."
As they began to skate away, Vibe snapped her fingers several times. Amp made a circle with her hands, then held them to her mouth. A sound similar to an ambulance siren rang through the air. People walking on the streets turned to stare, looking for the familiar red and white vehicle. Then Amp turned slightly, as if looking at the shop windows.
"Streakers!!"[/i]
The scream seemed to come from behind them trio, back where the cops where trying, unsuccessfully, to keep their dignity. Those who had ignored the siren, now ran to see what was going on, leaving the trio to roll away unnoticed.
Amp turned back to Zelek. "Too bad. The day is still young, and there is much chaos to cause. Unless you have to be home early, that is." The twins grinned happily. They were having fun with their new purple-haired friend.[/color]

Guest
Raina had decided to take a break from the mansion and check out NewYork since it was her first time in the big Apple. She wandered around absent mindedly taking in all of the scenery and pondering to herself how she could have possibly lived in a land of ice for so long! She had grabbed herself an ice cream and found herself in central park. Now, Raina wasn't by any means used to the city. Despite the travelling she had done she hadn't really gotten a feel for urban living and it was no surprise that she walked right into the path of a skateboarding teen guy and two stunningly beautiful girls. Of course, she crashed. Sending herself and most likely the others sprawling on one of the gravel paths.
She wasn't sure what had happened at first except that her head hurt and her ice cream had splattered. "Ohh..." embaressed she pulled herself to a slumped sitting position looking out at the two girls and guy that were probably a few years younger than her- and she rubbed her head. "Youch!" she exclaimed. "Sorry... not used to city living here!"
