Pluto ran, Pluto ran as fast and as hard as he could. He had been training for speed, he wasn't naturally a distance runner, they used to simply throw something at anything they wanted to catch, but he wouldn't risk injuring someone anymore just because they could run faster.

He grabbed the corner of a building as he passed and threw himself forward gaining about a block on the pair of thugs that were running as fast as they could, he was surprised they hadn't split yet, at least one would get away. The pair hurtled a fence, Pluto just ran through it, it was like ticker tape at the end of a race. The metal wire that made up the chain link snapped behind the thugs, but it was either terror keeping them moving or they trained too.
The pair of men moved quickly toward an abandon building and yanked open a door and proceeded in, it was sheer dumb luck that took them to an open hatch in the back of a kitchen.

it was sheer bad luck that they had finally slowed enough to be caught, seven city blocks they had ran and that red behemoth had chased them down. One powerful swipe of his hand tossed the men across the room. he hadn’t meant to send them into a wall and unconsciousness. But it happened and now, there were two men that had attempted to kidnap a woman off the street, passed out and probably unconscious for some time, and a slightly lifted trap door…is this where they were going to take her?

Pluto lifted the concrete hatch, forcing it if he had to…if there were more cretins down here, they needed to be dealt with, and if this was some sort of trafficking ring, well he had some people to free. He walked down the steps cautiously.

Sara was already on the scene. Well.... Technically she was under the scene. One of Sara's Clients had managed to damage the trap door that lead down to the secret storage units. A note to renters of all kinds and ages. When it comes to a choice between using a jack hammer on something to fix it, and calling the super, call the super. Always call the super. Not only had the client risked the secrecy of Sara's business, but they had also left her camouflager door so that it no longer shut flat the the ground.

Under the ground, there was a beam that stretched the length of the hall way. Bare light bulbs hung from it keeping the near sterile uniform walls illuminated, and Sara had installed it heavy enough to bare weight should it need to. Sara was stretched across the beam on her back. a sottering iron in one hand and bent wire like flux in the other. She'd nearly finished replacing the timer that was connected to the door, she'd then get to the broken sliding dead bolt.... some how.

It was about that time that Sara heard a couple of loud thumps on the ground above her. 'What the...' Sara set the flux wire on her stomach so her hand would be free to readjust the protective goggles that were over her eyes. She only had enough time to think about who that could be at ground level when there was the sound of stressed metal and crumpling cement. Someone had managed to force her door open. Someone broke her door. A steal reinforced door.

And now that person was walking down Sara's stairs to Sara's storage units, and did I mention that they broke SARA'S door!? Normally Sara would have nothing to do with what her clients were storing in her units. She didn't guard against theft, just provide as quiet of place as possible but she'd spent the afternoon working on that stupid thing called a door. THAT WAS NOW BROKEN!

Sara watched as Pluto made his way down the stairs slowly growing from just feet into the very formidable and very recognizable figure whom Sara had only managed to run into twice before, and just as his head barely cleared the edge of the floor above, that made up Sara's ceiling, Sara was there eye to eye with him staring at him like a dear caught in headlights, still stretched across the beam that supported her lighting system.

And just incase the obvious wasn't stated nearly enough... "Abyss. You broke my door." Sara said planely as the realization and mixed feelings still keeping her features almost blank. Then like someone had turned the switch on a light Sara's lost controle of her anger and frustrations. A rench hung from her belt and she swung it half hazardly in the general direction of Pluto's head.

"You BROKE my Door!"

Pluto recognized her, she wasn’t one to forget, but he didn’t know her. Abyss knew her, at least she knew him it seemed. At first she looked scared, she should’ve been. Helping people traffic people, she should be ashamed. She had that look of a cat backed into a corner on her face…it was unsettling. Here he was looking for a smuggling ring and thugs and he finds her working on something on the ceiling. His inner monologue and thought process however was interrupted by something called a monkey wrench.

*crack* something about a door… he shook off the initial surprise and the pain. he probably should have stopped her from hitting him.

“oow!” Pluto rubbed at the soon to be knot on his head. His tail however was more aggressive. Lashing out like an angry snake at the beam she laid on, see if it could bear that. The kitty should be happy he didn’t want to break her neck, just to see if she landed on her feet. “That was a hatch. And if you didn’t want it broken you shouldn’t be helping people steal women off the street. Now get out of here and I might be able to forget you were here.” He understood that it was hard to find honest work as a mutant, but this?

He wasn’t in his Monkey King gear today; so he didn’t bother with his broken Mandarin. He was taking the day off, but then he had to come across that pedophile van with no windows and a sliding door. They drove crazy and slammed on the breaks near the pretty woman across the street, she was nervous to be walking parallel to him, but she didn’t deserve whatever awaited her in this creepy lair.
Pluto began down the steps again, there were actual doors around to tear off the hinges.

Pluto didn't seem to be doing anything about her having smacked him with the monkey rench. His tail on the other hand had a sneak attack. She didn't notice it coming, from her vantage point on the bean, till it was too late. his tail smacked the beam that was supporting her weight and the beam jumped. The lights that the beam supported swayed. Some broke and sparks lit the air. Sara was dumped off of her purck where she had been laying to work on the trap door and for an instant, her tail and arms pinwheeled unceremoniously. She nearly landed face first on the cement floor, but she landed in a push up position. "Hey!"

Sara pushed herseelf right back up to her feet. She wasn't leaving and what did he just accuse her of? "Door." She said defiantly for arguing's sake seeing as not only did Pluto break it, but he decided to give her an unneeded lesson in proper trivial terminology. She was immediately right in front of Pluto trying to hold his progress again. Monkey rench prodding him aggressively in the chest. Oh and as long as they were arguing about terms: "This is a storage yard." The other part about what Pluto had told her, Sara was still processing. She didn't check on the contents of the units that much, but she'd notice if someone was stored here. Right? "I run a storage business Abyss." Sara expected people to try to break into it, but she'd walked entirely too hard on it to just stand aside and let this big red angry bull in her cement china shop.

"Now you get out."

She landed on her hands and feet. Hi-lar-ious, he fought the grin that threatened to break into unstoppable laughter.

Ugh.

"Anybody ever tell you, that you are loud lady?" Pluto rolled his eyes at here as she prodded him and insisted the hatch was a door. " A storage yard that traffickers run strait to? and I'm not Abyss, I'm not a door either for that matter." His eyes looked down at the monkey wrench pressed into his chest. he bent slightly and threw her over his shoulder. " I warned you to leave.Your 'storage' company might be compromised."

Pluto walked down the hall way his tail poised to keep her behaving if it needed to...he had a feeling it was going to need to keep her in line. he stomped his way toward the first door he came to and pressed his fingers into the door and yanked it free. not thinking of what this sort of breach might do to her business.

yes as a matter of fact Sara had been told that she was loud in the past. but that wasn't important to what was happening right now. Pluto didn't need that extra satisfaction.

"Hey!" Sara complained as Pluto scooped her up and put her on his shoulder. "Who the heck are you then!" She demanded as she started pounding her fists, elbows and knees into him. Eyes on that already offensive, long, monkey tail of his. Seeing that, that thing was really the only view that she had. If it came near her again, she'd just beat the crap out of it with the monkey wrench.

Sara hear a crack that was pluto sticking his finger through the first door in the long under ground hall way, and she froze. Oh halll no! For one thing, they must hae been standing on a plat form that would let off a silent alarm. Hopefully that person wasn't able to ear their beeper. A glace behind her into the now open door to that storage unit, told Sara that it was filled with some rolled of canvasses, and a couple of card board boxes that were labeled "Fragile. This side up."

Sara's tail whipped sideways in agitation. Here's fur in your eye. "If you don't stop, put me down, and leave right now, you're going to be sorry!"

"hey.” The subdued echo of her exclamation returned to her. “ I am the Monkey King, the newest vigilante hero of new York city, as far as your Abyss is concerned I am the black sheep brother, that morally objects to murder as a teaching tool to humans. You might have met me as Pluto.” He smiled silently at her attacks, knees and fists weren’t so bad after that wrench, it wasn’t that she couldn’t pack a punch, she could and did. He wasn’t going to taunt her though and get those capable claws out and tearing him to angry ribbons.
Pluto glanced around the first room, and seeing as the boxes weren’t moving he turned and made his way to the next door. After a couple more random choices he might stop, if he was wrong, he might even try to help her fix the place.
Then she started issuing ultimatums. “ PA FFFFT.” Was the over exaggerated noise he made at Werecat. “I already gave you a chance to leave, and you are getting that option again until you tell me where they hide the people.” He was going to say more when her tail flopped into his face, it came back again and he clamped down with his teeth, his weren’t quite as sharp as hers, but they would do. He hadn’t added any pressure but the threat of being a bobcat was readily available. He would have said so too, but there was the issue of a tail in his mouth.

The monkey king, huhh.... Well. Sara had heard worst vigilante names. There was something about New York City that seemed to make these so called heros gather and some how, Sara always seemed to meet the less than ahhh..... less than perfect ones. "Oh no. Vandalism seems to be much more up your alley. Pluto the Red Monkey Wrecking Ball?" Sara's whipping tail was no longer moving but stuck between Pluto's teeth. Grumbling loudly in frustration she gave it a couple of good tugs. Unless he actually started being a vital threat to her. grabbing a corn from the over head lights, to give the two of them a nice shot, wasn't going to be a solution. Besides. At one time, this Abyss brother and Sara, had fought on the same side in an impromptu team against supper powered robots. Sara didn't want to hurt him..... too much.

"Look. I'm just a business owner. I built it, I maintain it, and I collect payments. If it's being used for trafficking, it's news to me." And it means Sara hadn't thought this business all of the way through. "I can open the doors without destroying them. I can also tell you who rents each unit. Heck, I can even set up an ambush with you." Of course Sara would know if her place was being used in such a way, so of course, this accusing Sara or her clientele of something so hanus.

Sara gave her tail another yank, still frustrated. "I'd shake on it, but I'm not in the best of positions to do that." There will be no yoga kitty on a monkey shoulder today.

"Oh no. Vandalism seems to be much more up your alley. Pluto the Red Monkey Wrecking Ball?"

He listened to all she had to say, her tail in his mouth had one major advantage, he couldn’t use his other super power, sarcasm. He pushed Sara’s tail from his mouth. Bleh. “Vandalism? Not so much, I’m just doing detective work.” He pondered the next comment thoughtfully. “ Nah, too much of a mouthful. It is I, Pluto the Red Monkey wrecking ball. Just doesn’t have that ring to it.”

And made too much sense, she was working on the broken hatch, she cringed at every door he messed up. He might just have to admit he was wrong…or. He let her off his shoulder. “I believe you, but if I find out you duped me, I will never take your word for anything ever again.

“I suppose instead of tearing the doors off and looking we could knock and listen for a response. I’ll help you repair whatever we mess up as well. And what I have messed up.”

"Oh yes. Making sure that everything here is physically paid off replaces the security in my client's minds automatically." Sarcasm was the only thing that Sara could really do to make herself feel a little better at the least. Right now her situation felt very indignant. Having him put her down and her tail free and swishing felt better.

“I believe you, but if I find out you duped me, I will never take your word for anything ever again."

"Dido" Sara said darkly. Just because Pluto said he was doing one thing, didn't cement him in as being the completely good guy in Sara's mind. At least not yet. She slipped past him headed for the broken door as she went. "If you're this serious about traffickers, then the doors have to be opened. plus if a captive is like me, they may not answer."

When Pluto had knocked her off of the lighting support, he'd knocked a set of keys out of her work belt too. She picked up the bundle of keys, then returned, sorting the rings out for the next door.

Pluto recognized the surly attitude she was presenting him with, it might be a reflection of how he often acted when he was in a situation he didn’t like but had to run with. Like when those bastard brothers of his decided to drag him against his will to some random part of the world. They still had to stay within a certain distance of each other and the void, so sometimes he would get dragged with them or just appear in the void when he went to far. So he answered her sarcasm with a grunt.

He nodded his understanding and rolled his eyes annoyed at himself for not noticing the keys on the ground. Not that keys would save him time, but he wasn’t doing damage for the fun of it. “If you need to justify this with costumers, then feel free to set it fully on my shoulders.” He looked over her shoulder as she went to look in the next door.The thought crossed his mind that she might have a weapon store around him somewhere that she was going to lead him to and they were going to have to go to all out war. for some reason he trusted her though. Why though? he couldn't say.

Each door took two keys, and they were not marked with anything obvious. They were just on the same order on the key rings. It took her a moment to locate the second key on the ring, then both were turned at the same time. For a lock picker, it's nearly impossible to pick two locks at the same time.

This storage room was fuller and Sara had to step inside to look around the edge of a stack of boxes. Nostrils flared as she tried to pick up any scent or sound. She only smelled animal fur and crusty animal blood. Dried organs of something big and predatory. Dear lord what did she help support?

"Nothing human." She said to her self more than to Pluto as she locked the door behind her and moved on to the next room. Then the next after than. There weren't many units in the first hall way, and so they were moving onto the next fairly quickly.

"You said that you followed people here. Did you see their faces?" Sara said as a way of trying to break the silence.

Pluto didn’t look impressed. Just boxes, no one kicking around in them, he did notice a lot of imports without the typical stamps of approval from harbor control. He nodded, “Good, its not like I want to be right.”

Pluto nodded. “Yeah, they are upstairs on the ground unconscious, if you wanted to see if it was any one you recognize. I didn’t bother tying them up they won’t be awake anytime soon though.”
Mostly suspicious cargo nothing out right criminal, so far, at least until they came to the ninth storage unit, the place was packed with crates that were opened at the top, full of automatic weapons. Pluto tensed and got ready to shut her in if she grabbed one of the weapons.

“Seriously, you are going to plead ignorance to that, who are your clientele? “ He said shaking his head, obviously disapproving of giving gangstas a place to hang their hat.

"I hope that you didn't rearrange their faces too much." Sara said turning for the last room. Though if their faces were messed up, Sara might have a chance at recognizing their scents. "That might move things along quicker."

The door to the ninth storage unit shut with a pair of clicks. Sara pulled the keys free, clipped them to her belt and headed for the surface. She needed a moment to clear her head but Pluto's question was going to force her to think. "Most of these people are former job related acquaintances." Sara admitted. She checked briefly over her shoulder to see what Pluto was going to do about that and she kept talking. "I used to run a lot of different types of jobs for these people." Not all of it was for a bad reason. "The rest of them come to me through word of mouth."

“ They made me run forever, and I hit them, but not nearly as hard as I could have, Or wanted to for that matter.”

Pluto shook his head toward the ground. “ I’m no stranger to doing the wrong thing, I followed my brothers around and did whatever I pleased right along with the rest of them, but a time came when I realized I wasn’t making the world better for mutants, I was making it worse for everyone. I’m not going to preach to you, I just don’t want to leave a negative impact on this world. I want it to be better for my having been in it. the fact that you are helping me goes a long way. If you tried to help them instead.” He nodded to the pair of unconscious men on the ground. “our blood would be all over your basement by now.” He took stock of her as he followed, she had a nice figure, lightly but hard muscled, fit. She obviously knew what it was to be looked at like a freak, probably like him she was so used to it, it didn’t register anymore.

“ Do you know them?”
